Unable to run upgrade assistant utility in OIM 11.1.1.5

We are trying to upgrade OIM from 10g to 11g but when we run ua.bat(Located at MW_HOME/Oracle_<IDM_Home>/bin), we are getting the below error.

But the folder created at the time of installation was C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_IDM1\oui\lib\win64\oraInstaller.dll.
We even modified ua.bat file to take the above path but no result.
How to resolve the issue?

- prepare has been run for the first time and i am then trying to invoke the UaServer BEFORE i can invoke the uagui.
I believe that the most likely cause is an environment variable that is missing, but its finding the right one!

It must be some issue with your path export.
Have you also generated wlfullclient.jar? and is it available in your path.

Java Error While Running Upgrade Assistant

Hi,
We are in process of upgrading SAP from 4.7 EX 2 to ECC 6.0 in I5/V6R1M0 on
AS400.When running the statup of the UA server we are running into error saying
that" Unable to start Java shell, reason code 3006". Any Idea what could be the problem.

The variables mentioned in my first reply should be sufficient for determination of your profile's location and name. The resulting string is what you see:
/usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/profile/<SID>_*NULL_<server_name>."
lets me assume that
SAPSYSTEMNAME is set to <SID>
INSTANCE_NAME is not set at all
and most probably
SAPLOCALHOST is set to <server_name>
Can you verify that the values are meaningfull (real SID, something like DVEBMGS00, real server name) before you call command UASERVER?

Anybody has an idea why such behavior? Strange is I was able to run it 2 times - even this exception came, but Upgrade assistant windows appeared.

Fortunately this issue was solved, let me explain how was it. We changed the environment var dbs_ora_schema because it was pointing to another system, also we updated SAPup even when we have done this with bad results. So, after we did this changes everything start to work fine.

Restore from Time Machine / Migration Assistance Utility

Sorry if this is obvious, but just want to restore wo further user complications.
_Back story:_ 2006 iMac running Snow Leopard won't boot. Genius Bar determines HD needs reformatting. Reformats and installs OS v10.5.7, not Snow Leopard. Explained to follow new setup and when prompted select from Time Machine (external HD) and restore. At home I do, it won't. Everything is recognized (External HD, Time Machine, File), but tells me OS on machine older than Time Machine files and to upgrade iMac (and can try again from Migration Assistant Utility).
Continue with prompted new setup and created User Account. iMac now ready and like new. Installed Snow Leopard. Run Migration Assistant Utility and select restore from Time Machine.
Issue: External HD recognized by iMac but not by Migration Assistant Utility. Only selection choice is internal HD. Additionally when connecting external, always get prompted (separate prompt from Migration Assistance) if I want to setup Time Machine and I've been declining. Do I have to set up Time Machine before? It didn't require that when doing new user setup.

Yup. The Geniuses (like most Apple folks) don't actually use Time Machine on their work computers, and aren't real familiar with it, so this sort of thing isn't all that unusual, unfortunately. You could even have gotten similar advice from AppleCare, depending on the expertise of whoever you happened to get. Sigh.

11g Upgrade Assistant Error - "Cannot refresh - Currently locked"

I am running OBIEE 11g on Linux 32bit OS. It is a new OBIEE 11g install, I am just upgrading the 10g RPD and web catalog from our existing 10g server on this machine to serve as a separate 11g test environment. I have successfully upgraded the 10g RPD file using this 11g server's Upgrade Assistant utility. However, when I attempt to upgrade the 10g web catalog directory export on this machine I get the following error within the Upgrade Assistant:

I don't have the RPD open and I am not logged into the system. Does anyone know what the issue is or if I can upgrade a directory web catalog export on this machine?

Thank you for the reply. I did install using the "Simple" method vs. using the "Enterprise" method. However, I really don't want to re-install and reconfigure this server again. I already had an issue with using Linux 64bit OS previously (IDM authentication did not work). Using Linux 32bit OS IDM authentication is working now.
I will try a few more things, if I can't find a resolution then I will attempt the "Enterprise" install method and see if my catalog will upgrade.

Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant failed on Satellite P775

I tried running the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant on my Satellite P775.
It started by displaying

... etc ...
Got Component TOSHIBA Contrasena de supervisor
Reading Windows Components.
then displayed a Message Box
"Failed to read Target (Windows 8) INI file."

Yes I followed that procedure.
My model is Satellite P775-112 PSBY3E and is listed as being compatible
After installing Windows 8, I noticed that the DVD drive was no longer accessible, as described in the following thread: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=68222&tstart=0
So I disabled the Windows Service "Toshiba Optical Disc Drive Service" (TODDSrv.exe 1.0.0.8), and the DVD drive is now visible. However Toshiba Video Player still does not work (says it has compatibility issues) and I can not view DVD videos.
I then ran the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant, which failed immediately with the error "Failed to read Target (Windows 8) INI file".
I found some posts on the forum with a similar error with the Windows 7 Upgrade Assistant (Failed to read Target (Windows 7) INI file. None of the posts has a clear description of what this error means but I've tried all of the suggestions.
Here's a list of what I've tried:
- Rebooted
- Upgraded BIOS to latest version (2.10)
- Run Upgrade Assistant as Administrator
- Run Upgrade Assistant with "Toshiba Optical DIsc Drive Service TODDSrv.exe 1.0.0.8 started or stopped.
My main problems at the moment are:
- Toshiba Optical DIsc Drive Service causes DVD drive to disappear
- Toshiba Video Player won't run
- No way to view DVDs
I'd be happy to install the drivers and applications individually if the Upgrade Assistant doesn't work - is there anywhere I can download them?

Unable to Run diagnostics after 12.1.3 upgrade from 11.5.10.2

Problem with Lion upgrade after running Migration Assistant

I have a MacBook Pro that I purchased earlier this year. I bought a new MacBook Air yesterday.
I used Migration Assistant to migrate some of my data/settings from my old MacBook Pro to the new MacBook Air. After the migration, all of my original data was still available on the MacBook Pro (good as I wanted to keep a copy on the MacBook Pro and not all data was migrated). The new MacBook Air received all the right data and is working well.
I then purchased a Lion upgrade for my MacBook Pro and started the installation process. The installation process seemed to be going fine, but the MacBook Pro eventually hung. I let it "run" overnight hoping that it would finish the process, but the machine was still hanging a day later. I forced the MacBook Pro to shut down using the power button. Now, when I restart the MacBook Pro, I get the "Mac OS X Utilities" screen asking if I want to Restore from Time Machine Backup, Reinstall Mac OS X, Get Help Online, or Disk Utility. Does this mean my data is not longer available on the MacBook Pro? Also, I do/did have the MacBook Pro connected to a Time Machine and it had up-to-date backups at the time I ran Migration Assistant. However, I noticed that after running Migration Assistant, the MacBook Pro was complaining that it was no longer connect to the Time Machine.
My instinct tells me that I should attempt to restore the MacBook Pro using the Time Machine backup, but I'm wondering if it might be able to revive the MacBook Pro without having to take that step. Or, maybe I should select the "Reinstall Mac OS X" option first? Any ideas?
If I need to use the Time Machine backup, do I need to do anything special given the post Migration Assistant behavior I described above?

How can I fool Time Machine into using the original Backup Folder and just doing an incremental backup?
You can't. after using MA on it you have to start a new backup sequence. you can change computer name in Sharing preferences to anything you like but it won't affect TM backups.

Unable to run project on upgrading to azure sdk 2.3 while using cache

We upgraded azure sdk from 1.8 to 2.3 and we are unable to run our project.
following is the error.

Error on upgrade from 3.2 to 4 [Unable to run page sentry in application 45

Hi Folks,
To upgrade from 3.2 to Apex 4, I logged-in as sys and ran
apexins SYSAUX SYSAUX TEMP /i/
After installation when I tried accessing apex in browser, I am getting following error message
* ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called*
* Unable to run page sentry in application 4500.*
* Return to application.*
* Application Express 4.0.0.00.46*
* Workspace: User: *
* Language: en | Copyright © 1999, 2010, Oracle. All rights reserved.*
This statement is returning INVALID status
SELECT STATUS FROM DBA_REGISTRY
WHERE COMP_ID = 'APEX'
The log is showing errors

Can someone here guide me how to resolve this? Shall I reinstalled APEX 4 or rollback to 3.2 or do I need to run any other file.

I have the same problem too.

The problem is by the oracle version. (al least in my case)
apex 4.0 needs 10.2.0.3 and i have 10.2.0.1
I'm going to deinstall, upgrade 10g and reinstall...

Do you run Pre-Upgrade Assistant when migrate from 10.1 to 10.2

I tried to upgrade from 10.1 to 10.2 on Windows. Base on installation guide, you have to install 10.2 in a separate ORACLE_HOME, then run utlu102i.sql through SQL before run DBUA. Since I installed 10.2 without create start database because SID is same as 10.1. How to run pre-upgrade assistant? Or should I setup new SID for 10.2 and change it back after migrate database from 10.1 to 10.2.

I'd suggest to check the "manual upgrade/migration" method described in upgrade doc.
As a summary:
utlu102.sql is just a step to verify some prereqs needed before going to 10.2
You'll need to shutdown your 10.1 DB. Copy your .ora files from 10.1.to 10.2; adjust them appropriately.
Set your Oracle_home to 10.2; keep same SID. Startup upgrade, then run catpatch.sql (if i remember correctly).
All these steps are well described in the manual.

Get RC=8 Error message when running CSS Upgrade Assistant

I can't get to where I can safely uninstall 7.0 to upgrade to 8.21 because I can't get through this Upgrade Assistant Program. I get the following error message:
'An error occured while archiving your Client Security Solution data. If you uninstall Client Secutiy Solution version 7.0, you will delete all Client Security Solution data and settings.
RC=8'
This is from when I try to run file css8_upgrade_asst.exe
Can anyone help? Have a ThinkPad T43.
