OIM11gR2 - How to migrate an Application Instance Form

Hello,
I'm trying to migrate an Application Instance Form from my Dev env to my QA env.
My target system is SAP
I performed the following steps in Dev:
1. Installed and configured the SAP Connector (no problem here)
2. Created a sandbox
3. Created an Application Instance
4. Created the Application Instance Form
5. Ran a target reconciliation to confirm everything is working properly
6. Exported the sandbox
7. Published the sandbox
8. Via Deployment Manager I exported all objects related to SAP (Resource object, Process Forms, Lookups etc.)
In QA I did:
9. Installed and configured the SAP Connector (no problem here)
10. Via Deployment Manager I imported the objects related to SAP
11. Imported the sandbox
Problem:
To my surprise, the Application Instance does not have a Form in the QA env.
I had to create it manually by performing the following:
12. Create a sandbox
13. Open the Application Instance definition
14. Click on create (to create a form)
15. Entered the same name I used in my Dev environment
16. Received an error message saying that the form already exists
17. Entered a different name for the Form
18. Saved
19. Exported the sandbox (to import in Prd)
20. Published the sandbox
21. Ran a target reconciliation to confirm everything is working properly
I tried to reproduce the problem with another (test) destination environment because I don't want to have the same problem when migrating to Prd.
I repeated the steps 9,10,11 except that I imported the sandbox exported from QA (step 19) instead.
The same problem: Application Instance definition has no Form attached to it in my test destination environment.
If I try to create the form with the same name, it gives an error message saying it is already there.
Is my procedure wrong?
Is there an official procedure explaining how to migrate only Application Instance Form from one env to another?
My env:
OS: Windows 2008 R2 SP1
OIM: 11gR2 BP7
SAP connector: 9.1.2.2.0

This is a bug: Bug:16027176
Check the [Article ID 1515225.1] which proposes a workaround that might be useful in your case (it was not in mine).
In short the workaround is:
The following order should be observed to export :
- IT Resource & Application instance in one xml
- Request DataSet in another xml
- SysAdmin Sandbox (the one defined while creating the Application Instance and the Form)
- Identity URL Sandbox (defined while customizing the fields on the Form, in the Catalogue page)

    We have configured request based provisioning for the 3 target applications. As a process
    1) Manager is log in to OIM Identity console and selects the one user and provision the application Instance after selecting the required roles in the Application instance forms of Catologue page.
    2)With in the same login session, if manager selects another user and tried to provision the same application instance,details of first user is displaying in the application Instance forms.
    Actually differrent data need to populate in the application instance forms for each user.
    Please let us know the the solution for this issue.

    Hi,
    Whats  your exact version of OIM and BP? It can be issue with particular version.
    Also, it looks like your request form pre-pop may not be working properly. Can you put some sysout and try to check in your logs about what value is getting printed when you are selecting another user?
    We have used this scenario in OIM 11.1.2.0 + BP7 and it was working.

    In our scenario we have Disconnected applications in OIM. AI (Application Instance) form and PD editing is created by OIM.
    We want to add additional field in AI form.It is visible in back end. But,its not visible in OIM admin console for admin and as well for end user.
    Is there any property related to form field in AI ,where we need to make changes to make it visible ?
    Instance used is OIM 11gR2 PS1

    You use powershell script to migrate infopath forms from SP 2010 to SP Online. But you need to be careful about external connections used in infopath forms(web service connections etc.) because they might required to be changed. So, for data connections,
    use of Data Connection Library is a preferable way or you can write a powershell script to update the data connections also.

  • Deleting Application Instance Form OIM 11gR2

    Hi Experts,
    I deleted an application instance from sysadmin console and ran "Application Instance Post Delete" job on "Delete" mode.
    I noticed that application instance got completely removed but, When I tried to add a new form in that App Instance, i could still see older Form in the drop down list.
    Is there a way to delete those forms seperately?

    Thanks NN, I did not check after removing from sandbox earlier, the form still shows up in the dropdown.. Is there some table or lookup from where we need to remove some enteris?

    In 11gR1 (which uses WLS 10.3.1) onwards the application policy specified in the application's jazn-data.xml is automatically migrated upon application deployment to the domain policy store (which could be system-jazn-data.xml or OID).

    There are no automated translation tools from BSP to WDA.  Although similar in structure (both MVC and Unified Renderer based), the technology implementation is very different. BSP uses MVC - and has Model and Controller objects. However these ABAP classes are in no way compatible with what Web Dynpro generates.  WDA also has the concept of Context which doesn't exist at all in base BSP (although CRMUI does have a context, this is just a wrapper around the BSP model class and isn't compatible with the WDA context either).
    The view becomes even more problematic.  Although the HTMLB, XHTMLB, and PHTMLB tag libraries are similar to the standard UI elements in Web Dynpro, the WDA versions are much more advanced. You probably could map most of the properties and tags to WDA, but not everything.  However the fact that in BSP you can inject any custom HTML and JavaScript becomes an issue because there is no way to do the same in WDA.
    Overall, you should just start from scratch and redesign the application as WDA.

    Hi Pedro,
    The quick way, assuming you are using Classic Planning Administration in 11.1.1.3 is to export the application schema and Essbase data & objects from the 9.2.0 environment and import into the new environment.

  • How to migrate custom application from AK to MDS ?

    I have got a custom application in Apps 11.5.8 where the data is stored in the AK_REGIONS table, etc. and the custmo application is registered in FND_APPLICATION table correctly. When applying the OAF 5.7 patch, the data is not migrated to MDS.
    Answer:
    This is because the OAF 5.7 patch does not migrate product data automatically. It is up to the development teams to do this.
    With Custom applications, there is apparently no documented or supported mechanism to migrate this data from AK to MDS.
    Solution:
    OA Framework 5.7 (or OAF 5.10) can read the page definitions out of AK, so there is no pressing need to migrate the page definitions anyway. (See Metalink Note 216823.1 for example of this) When a page needs to be changed, the page will need to be changed via AK Developer as before, or manually recreated using JDeveloper which will then be using the MDS repository.

    Do you mind telling me how you do it from the client ? All the libraries for the import utilities seem to be present in the application server. How (and what) to bring to the client where my jdeveloper resides ?

    You need to have Oracle Applicaiton Server as middle tier. Inside OAS, there are sample html codes and jinitiator to move Developer applicaiton to web without any code changes.

    The database as a service (DBaaS) provisioned database gives you a full 11gR2 or 12c database in the cloud. I don't believe we have trials for it today but more information can be found here:

    If you have single schema apps, the schema service is a good choice but as soon as you go outside of the single schema limitation as you discovered, you might need to move to the DBaaS offering. Another benefit of the DBaaS offering is that if you wanted to move all your applications from your 11gR2 DB to the cloud, you could use all the DB data movement tools we have such as data pump, external tablespaces and transportable tablespaces to move your apps.

    So I am assuming that you have a reports object node of the the name "abr_as". Thus "abr_as" is not the name of the Reports module (rdf or rep).
    If abr_as is the name of the Reports physical file, then please create a Reports Object node and add this name as the physical file name in teh properties. use the name of the Reports object within your Run_Report_Object calls

    Make sure that the directory is known by the Reports Server. Use Reports_Path setting in the registry. Forms does not look for the Reports directly but call ReportsServices. make sure that the Reports Object property has a valid entry for a Reports module

    All that this utility does is to take teh Run_Product request and pass it to the plsql library shipped with the utility. The utility also create a Report Object node that is used with the library call. An here is where the possible problem is:
    Menu items don't have a Report Object node. Thus you need to make sure that the fmb file using this menu module does have the rp2rro entries. The easiest way to achieve this is to create a dummy run_product entry in the fmb file and run this through the converter. This adds all the rp2rrp dependecies to the fmb file. Finally remove the dummy run_product entry (that now shows converted) but leave the rp2rro parameters , Reports Object node and attached library.

    The are some known issues with the rp2rro.pll (the call to Reports9i Services has a wrong format) that will be fixed in the first Forms9i patch that comes out soon.
