Old iphone 4 stolen - i want to know what's in it
my old iphone 4 was stolen this morning. for some reason, i removed the password lock the other day (bad mistake). i already changed my email / apple passwords and even canceled a credit card. i'm also trying to locate it using find my iphone and set it to erase iphone (so far nothing). my question: is there any way i can find out what data is in the iphone. i'm mainly concerned about what's in my notes. is there anyway, through itunes or icloud i can find out what's in my notes? last time i back up the iphone 4 was when i switched over to iphone 5 in sept. thanks, ernie.
fyi: here are my apple devices: old iphone 4 w/ no carrier plan (stolen), iphone 5, ipad 2, macbrook pro retina, apple tv.
to make a long story short, at some point in time, i added some credit card numbers and some other info in my notes. what i want to know is whether i added those when i had the iphone 4 or the iphone 5. if i added them using my iphone 5, then i have nothing to worry about but if i added them using my iphone 4 then i have lots to worry about. around late sept 5, i transferred the iphone 4 data into my new iphone 5. i haven't done an icloud back up since then, so it kinda makes sense to me that if i have access to that data, i will know what kind of info i have in my notes. thanks, ernie.
btw, i logged onto icloud.com, checked the notes and it's blank.

You did not ruin the phone, you will need a sim card to activate the phone and then connect the phone to itunes and do a restore from back up.

That's exactly what it does, refresh your contacts. As an example if you add a contact on your Mac or iPad and you use iCloud to sync them altogether, then this can be used to refresh the contacts on your iPhone.

Legality aside (I'm not a lawyer and have no opinion on the matter) in order to make a purchase of an iPhone 5 you would need to travel to a country where they are for sale and purchase it there. Be sure to get one that is officially unlocked or you would not be able to use it with your cell carrier. Be sure that your carrier supports use of the iPhone before you buy. Also note that the warranty of the iPhone is only valid in the country of purchase.

You need to find out who the carrier was in Switzerland and see if they will unlock the device. The carrier with the lock is the only one that can authorize the unlock. You may need to check with the original owner and see if they can get it unlocked by the carrier if you do not qualify.

I have just joined itunes match and want to know what I do now. Do I delete all the music on my iphone and ipad and if so how? Once I've done that how do I find the music on the cloud on my phone/ipad?Go to Settings > General > Usage, select Music, then Edit. There will be a delete option there. Backup your data off the machine to a external drive (not TimeMachine) and disconnect.
Create another Admin account in System Preferences and log into it, delete your Admin Account and reboot.
Optional: Open Disk Utility and Erase Free Space (Zero good enough, 7x for military level, both take time)
This should be good enough to remove just your account and data without the hassle of reinstalling the OS and all new programs again.
However if you need that level, then c boot off the 10.6 disk (or command r boot on Lion) and use Disk Utility there to Zero or 7x erase the OSX drive/partition, quit and reinstall OS X. Much more work that likely is unnecessary in your case.

I just want to know what Apple computer to get to play Civilization V down loaded from the App store.
The game Civ5 processes a turn in single core mode. It says “please wait” while it processes a turn. If the intel i7 CPU is “fourth generation” it is twice as fast for civ5 turn processing. It does not matter if you have more memory or a better graphics chip. So, I can get a smaller cheeper Apple computer as long as it is fourth generation. I tested three new iMacs, two new MacPros and two mac minis.

I have looked at that darned “please wait” message for years. Now it can be 60 seconds on a new MacPro6,1 or late 2012 Mac mini and 30 seconds on a new iMac. Even the 21.5 iMac 3.1 GHz has 3.9 GHz turbo boost for single core and it is supposed to be fourth generation.
Some of that does not seem to true for the new 21.5 inch iMac I just tested (Fusion drive). Mac Mini 54 seconds 21.5 iMac 49 seconds.

No sound for "click" or ipod sounds
Went to play music through speaker & it will not make sound. The phone rings, I can hear on it through earpeice & speaker in phone mode. I can hear the apps & music with headset, but not through speaker. Any ideas?????
