Old iPhone cradle with headset.
So, I currently have an Apple bluetooth headset. When I purchased it it came with a new cradle so you can charge both the iPhone and the headset at the same time. Well, it appears that the cradle doesn't work with the 3G.
I hate laying my beautiful black 3G on its back to sync...
This has already been discussed.
There is a new 3G dual Dock. It is not available in the online store. It is 49.00 at Apple Retail STores only -- and every single one of them is sold out nationwide until new stock is replenished. There is no estimate for when they will be in the stores.
The lack of a listing in the Online Store is a good indicator that there isn't any replacement stock available yet. In the SE Michigan stores, each Apple store got 5 new 3G dual docks last friday at launch. All were sold out before 10 am.

I have an old iPhone 3Gs with software version 4.3.5, I am trying to use it again, and it works fine, but I have not been able to update the software. Every time I try, I get the following message:
"there was a problem downloading the software for the iPhone, the network connection could not be established". This happens even though I have a working internet connection.
Besides that, all the other functions work properly, even synchronize apps and library.
Will I be able to update the software?look around the forum tons of people repport that they can't update
makes you suspect that apples update servers can't meet the depand of too many users

I have an old iphone 3G with 1900 songs and pictures that I want to put in my current itunes library, so they will sync in to my new iphone 5s. How can I transfer this info into my new library?
ThanksYou can transfer the purchases you made on your old iPhone 3 by plugging it in to iTunes and doing File > Devices > Transfer Purchases from your IPhone to the iTunes on your computer. This will get music you purchased in iTunes, apps, etc. (e.g., movies).
But for the rest you would need to restore a backup of your newly deceased computer. -

Old iPhone Replaced with 3G?
I have been having some problems with my old iPhone (first gen) and want to get it replaced. Does anyone know if Apple will replace this old iPhone with the new, 3G iPhone, or just a new first gen iPhone? I had heard that Apple has run out of the first gen iPhones...
Message was edited by: BeebledThey will replace it with a refurbished first generation iPhone.

Very short battery life on new iphone 5 with 64 gig memory. Old 3gs with 16 gig had much longer battery life. Why?
Here are Apple's tips to lengthen your iPhone's battery life.

I have an old iphone 3, which i loved... and upgraded at the end of last year to an iphone 5, as my old phone was linked to an earlier version of itunes,i can no longer sync my music to my new phone.. which considering i paid for it and downloaded it from itunes, i find very annoying and a little distasteful. Can anyone help ?
You have posted to the iTunes Match forum, which your question does not seem related to. You will get better support responses by posting in the appropriate iTunes forum, or in the Using iPhone forum.

Only if you have an older version of the facebook app that will work on iOS 4.2.1.
Otherwise, use the facebook mobile site. -
Syching Old iPhone backup with New iPhone
I previously owned one of the original first generation iPhones, but that was recently stolen so I got a new 3GS for Christmas. I am syching it with my computer for the first time and iTunes is asking me if I would like to synch the new phone with my old phone's information. I need to know a few things before I can decide;
1. Will the syching process completely erase everything I have on my new phone currently in favor of the old backup information (ex. contacts, notes, calender events, pictures, ect)?
2. Would this be safe for the new phone, or would there be software problems between the different generations?
ThanksA new iPhone is not synced with the backup for a previous iPhone. When connecting a new iPhone to iTunes that was used to sync a previous iPhone, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the previous iPhone to the new iPhone. This will transfer the backup for your previous iPhone to your new iPhone as of the time your previous iPhone's backup was update.
This link provides the data included with your iPhone's backup.
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
After the backup is transferred to the new iPhone, this must be followed by a sync with iTunes to transfer the data to your new iPhone based on your selections under the various tabs for your iPhone sync preferences, which will be pre-selected for your new iPhone based on the selections you had under the various tabs for your previous iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
1. Will the syching process completely erase everything I have on my new phone currently in favor of the old backup information (ex. contacts, notes, calender events, pictures, ect)?
Yes.
2. Would this be safe for the new phone, or would there be software problems between the different generations?
The current iPhone firmware version can be run on every iPhone generation - on the original iPhone, on the 3G, and on the 3GS. -
Cannot hear iPhone Ring with Headset
I just started using the V-Moda Vibe II wired headset but I usually prefer to leave the earpiece hanging from my shirt while I'm not making calls. This is because the earpiece interferes with my hearing as it blocks outside noise. The problem is I cannot hear my iPhone ringing because it only plays within the earpiece and not from the iPhone's speaker. I set my phone on vibrate but sometimes while having it on my holster and walking I cannot feel the vibration. Is there a way for the iPhone speaker ringer to work while using a headset? If not, Apple should make this an option in Preferences>Sound.
Thanks,
AlexanderYou're right! You know what's weird? Whenever I charge my iPhone to my iHome alarm clock radio, my iPhone's sound settings get all weird. Perhaps because when I connect it, my iPhone says that "This accessory is not compatible with iPhone", even though it should according to the alarm clock box. Keyboard clicks disappear. So maybe my sound settings got screwed up because of that. I just tested it and heard the ringer from my iPhone. Thanks guys!

My wife's brand new iphone4 (which was a replacement for a 4month-old iphone4 with home button issues) is not recognized by itunes. Every other ios device on the computer/Apple ID in question is recognized and syncs perfectly. Any suggestions?
If the new phone has already been setup, make sure the phone and iTunes are both set to the same account.
You might also have to authorize this computer for the new device under the store menu.
