OLT Ramp down errors

I have a script that ramps up to 750 users run on 3 agent machines, it includes a sync point so all agents start actions together - performs some navigation and then completes.
Looking at the session graphs all is fine the 750 users do their stuff and then start to end - and then approx 1/3 through the ramp down the errors begin- not on all the agents but on a max of 14 of the 750
Most of the errors are cannot connect to server on port 80 WinInet error code 12029 with additional timeouts after 120 seconds reported
Nothing obvious in the Agent or controller logs
Running the same scenario for 1500 users makes the errors happen earlier (before max ramp up) but again the majority on ramp down - so I can't be certain if the ramp down timing is a bit of a Red Herring
Has anyone seen similar on their sessions?

Are the users only performing a certain number of iterations of the script each, or are they running for a certain time before the test stops them? The way you describe this it could be interpreted as each user only completes a single transaction and then stops (while other VUs are still being added)? Do you actually get all 750 users running at the same time (or have most finished by the time the 750th is launched)?
How are you adding the users? I'd go for a slow stepped approach e.g. 50 users every 10 minutes (or something along those lines appropriate to the length of time for a single iteration). It really depends on how many samples you want to take at each step. i.e. only 5 completed iterations at every step isn't particularly good, but 100 might be OK?
That way it should be clear that the system is fine at lower levels (say 100 samples taken with 450 users) but at 500 users things start to struggle.
Another approach might be to run 1 hour tests at 200 users, then another at 400, then a 3rd at 600 (to get decent samples at each level). It does depend a lot on the average length of a single iteration though.
I'm always interested to hear how other people approach this sort of thing.

  • Ramp Down Virtual Users Feature in OLT 9.1

    Hi,
I would like to know is there any ramp-down feature available in Oracle Load test tool similar to one available in HP LoadRunner?
I was able to find only ramp-up field entries in auto-pilot tab.
Please do let me know more info regarding it
    Regards,
    Mahesh

    Hi,
The Scenario pattern which you had mentioned is for ramping-up users which usually occurs during start of test execution which is readily available in autopilot tab. I mean ramping-down users which occurs at the end of test execution for defined period / goal.
At present, users are made to exit once they complete current iteration.
Is there any method available for graduall exit of virtual users?
    Hope you understood my query.
    Regards,
    Mahesh

  • Frequent Mouse-Down Errors

I'm experiencing frequent (every 11 minutes or so) mouse-down errors. As this occurs in any variety of apps, including the Finder, the application in-use seems to not be a factor.
I will be using an application and suddenly the track-pad no longer works. This is will last for between one and three minutes. Sometimes, the front-most window will veer suddenly to the left so that it is halfway off the screen. I will be unable to move it until the mouse-down error ends. Most of the time, I can continue to move the mouse around during these events, but I can't click on or move anything. Sometimes, gestures (like 4 finger push up to reveal Mission Control) will be disabled during these events, but not always. During these events, I am also unable to drag and drop any files from one space to another.
This is extremely frustrating and very disruptive to my work and I would really appreciate any help in resolving this.
The problem began a week or so ago after I installed more than a dozen applications; I have experimented with quitting one menulet at a time with no results. It seems to me, since the error is occurring on a fairly regular basis that one background process or another is causing it so the offending app would need to be fully uninstalled, not just quit anyway.
I'm wondering, at this point, if I should just restore from a two week old backup, but I would really like to avoid that hassle if it's possible to simple identify the offending process.
These are some of the console logs of mouse-downs:

  • Ramp up, Hold, Ramp Down

Very new to Labview, this is my first "task".
I need a specified voltage to ramp up with an input ramp time, then hold for an input time, then ramp down with the same time scheme as the ramp up.  I'm about half way there, or so I think.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

I added a very simple state machine to your program. I am sure that everyone will tell you that using the local variables is bad. There are better ways to handle that data but I did not want to spend all day giving you and example to work with. I added a Strict type def for your states. I added along with the new program.

Couple of questions regarding LiveType. I'm creating a credits for the end of a project that goes on for a couple of minutes, and is fairly slow. I selected a font I liked (a system font, not a LifeFont) and included a couple of symbols from Webdings or something to seperate sections with a symbol that was appropriate to the project. These fonts looks great on the screen and in Font Book (where I went to view all my fonts and make a selection) but when I output it it looks like crap. (white font/black background, standard DV). Are there types of fonts that are generally better represented (ie. truetype vs. ???).
2nd question. I've looked through the manual and can't find anything about this but, I'd like, at the end of the credits to ramp down the speed, then pause for a specified amount of time on the last big of the credits (copyright etc.).
How do you ramp up/ramp down the "Scroll Up" effect?
    Thanks!

    Question 1:
You really need to view it on an NTSC monitor or failing that output a short portion to your deck/camera and look at it on a TV and see if it still looks like crap.
There are a number of things that could be your “crap” culprit. Try lowering the whites to about 90% for starters and add a Gaussian Blur (at about .2) to the titles as well. Add the blur in FCP it’s in Effects>Video Filters>Blur>Guaussian Blur
    Question 2:
There is a scroll and pause effect in LT as well. It has adjustable key points that you could move around so it pauses where you want it. With the length of your credits though it may be more hassle than it’s worth. Obviously it’s your choice. As an alternative you could simply dissolve in that final graphic rather than having it scroll and pause. If you’re trying to give that final credit more prominence that would achieve your goal.

  • HT201210 my Iphone is completely down; error code 2001. How can I fix this?

My Iphone 5 is completely down; error code 2001. How can I fix this. I updated the last version of ITunes. Before then phone went black the battery run empty very fast. I had a long flight and switched the phone completely off with 30% battery remaining to make sure that I had battery after I landed. However I couldn't get it working anymore. When I push the home and the "off" button at the same time I see a Itunes logo and a USD connection with an arrow.

  • Essbase Add-In Drill Down Error

    Hi
    When double clicking to zoom down in excel, excel crashes. I can use other features ok, and s/sheet retrieves ok if I select members first. I am using;
    Essbase V11.1.1.3
Windows XP SP3 (recently upgraded from SP2)
    Excel 2003
Hyperion components (Essbase databases / Planning / Reporting / Shared Services) are hosted on virtual servers.
I have tried uninstalling Smart View and reinstalling Essbase on my laptop, but Excel still crashes.
Although I recently installed SP3 (and this may coincide with the error), other users in the company also upgraded to SP3 are unaffected.
Not sure how to uninstall the add-in, but did deselect, the reselect the add-in (Tools - Add-Ins).
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Adrian

    3. Copied the .dll files from the bin folder above to the c:\Windows\System32 folderThis solved your problem for now but may cause you further headaches in the future if and when you upgrade. I strongly recommend that users resolve the issue with the PATH statement so the appropriate files are found first in the essbase\bin directory structure.
When I have seen this in the past, it was discovered by running SysInternals Process Manager, finding the appropriate process, then looking at the dlls, their versions and load directories, and seeing that mismatched dll versions were loaded into memory at the same time. That is almost guaranteed to crash.

  • URGENT!! Drill Down Error with Character Set non-ascii on Discoverer Viewer

    Hi,
We have an error in a Drill down. It comes up when the Discoverer Viewer tries to process data that contains special character (non-ascii) in a query's filter. The same report that does not perform well with special characters, does perform well if the data don’t contains special characters, so it seems to be an issue processing non-ascii chars in this Discoverer Viewer instance.
Ex. FIELD_NAME = 'öÜæäé (This filter is contained in a query that this getting an error msg="We're sorry, the server encountered an unexpected condition" ).
It might be possible that there are some problems with the Discoverer charset ?
We will appreciate any suggestion about this respect.

  • Drill Down Error DET_LEVEL

    Hi,
I am writing a macro to enable data entry only when drill-down on 2 characteristics say Customer and Material.
    =========================
    IF
    - Disaggregation Check
    DET_LEVEL('9AMATNR')=1
    AND
    DET_LEVEL('9ACUST')=1
    Row : KeyFigure (Attributes)=
    ROW_INPUT(1)
    ELSE
    Row : KeyFigure (Attributes)=
    ROW_INPUT(0)
    ENDIF
    =========================
When I try to generate this ,I am getting the error
the field DET_LEVEL is unkknown but there is a similar field CON_DET_LEVEL.
I tried using AGG_LEVEL also but then got the error that CON_AGG_LEVEl is available.
But I couldn't find either CON_DET_LEVEL or CON_AGG_LEVEL in functions list. Neither was I able to use it.
Can anyone tell me what could be the problem ?

    HI Arunesh.
In general, when maintaining parameters inside parenthesis make sure there is a space following the '(' and before the ')'.
    So in your example:
    DET_LEVEL('9AMATNR')=1
    should be
    DET_LEVEL( '9AMATNR' )=1
    Hope this helps.

  • Drill down error on Viewer

Hi, I'm having an error on Discoverer Viewer (Release 4.1.44) when I try to Drill down on an element. The drill down functionality works ok, except when the drill down elements are too many and needs to be drawn on Next Page. In that case I got an error ("The page cannot be display").
Anybody had that problem, or knows why it is happening?
    Thanks in advance
    Ivo

Though I cannot say without investigating this if this is a bug or due to some other issue, the first advice would be for you to upgrade to the latest patchset, 4.1.48 or later. There is a good chance that this issue, if a bug, may have been fixed in a subsequent release.
The other option would be to take a look at Metalink.Oracle.com and see this issue has been reported earlier.

  • Drill down error

    Hello Experts
When I drill down a report according to Characteristics( ship_to and sold_to) The report is displaying following Messege"abort System error in Program Cl_RSDM_READ_MASTER_DATA and form_sidval_drect_" and the report is disconnecting from BW server, I rpaired all the Masterdata Objects in RSRV but no use? I checked in SAP Note, looks like no relevent notes for this error.
    we are using BW3.1
    Any guidance or suggestions
    Thanks

    Hi SP,
Check you have done the identifications properly in the multi provider. The error message shows for the SID Conflict for the particular infoobject. In RSRV Could you please run the following test and if there are any errors you can run repair.
Tests in Transaction RSRV -> All Combined Tests   -> Master Data  -> Check Master Data for a Characteristic

  • Drill down error in 10g - No Columns displayed

When drilling down on OBIEE 10g reports sometimes the result is "No columns displayed", we cannot find any particular reason why this happened. The columns are available and should show up so it's perceived as an error for our users.
Does anyone know how and why this happens and what a possible solution might be?
    Much appreciated!

  • Drill down error in disc. Viewer

    Hi there,
I'm getting the following error while trying to drill down in Disco. Viewer.
Error applying Drill.Press your browser's Back button to undo the last action or click Run Query to start again.<<
It works fine in Plus and Desktop.
    Any idea?
    Thanks in advance!

First thing you might want to check is metalink as I seem to recall a problem with drill-down in Viewer (ie: not working correctly) but not sure under what circumstances.
That would be the quickest to see if it's a known bug or your setup.

  • Analysis Wizard Drill Down Error

When i drill down on a fsg report on some rows I get the following error message
"This row is not unique. Drill cannot proceed"
This only occurs on some of the rows in the report
I have looked at the row definitions and can not see anything to suggest the row is anything but unique.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to identify the issue, and resolve my problem
    Thanks
