YOU need to - in iMovie - Turn on Advanced Tools !
top row menu - with an Apple top left ---> iMovie ---> down to preferences ---> Here select to turn on Advanced tools .
Now it will work when You drop a clip onto another IN a MOVIE PROJECT ! (can not be done in Event's)
Next problem I had - was to get right clip onto the other - what was the Background and What was the Green screen - BUT just test - You only got two ways to try out.

Has anyone actually got the Green Screen feature to work? I've been trying for about 8 hours, absolutely no success. I have followed the iMovie Help instructions and the examples on the internet, over and over again. I've tried every imaginable variation on the instructions. Nothing from my green movie shows up. The green in my video is pure green - 100% green, 0% red and 0% blue. Yet the non-green images in the video aren't getting displayed at all. Several other people have mentioned a similar problem on these forums and they are all "unanswered". Is that because this is an unsolvable problem? Is it an iMovie bug? Sigh. I'm a big fan of Apple but stuff like this gives them a bad name.

After several more hours of diagnosis I have identified some conditions which can make Green Screen slightly work (but not much). The condition is as follows. The green screen clip must be carefully dropped at the beginning of a video clip, such that at least the first two seconds of the green screen clip (no less, but no more or the clip will become attached to the previous clip and then it's broken again) are displayed over the PREVIOUS video clip. But the green screen will not work on the previous clip, only on the second clip. So you will always lose the first two seconds of the green screen video. It took me a lot of experimenting to discover this anomaly.
Clearly this is a bug, but since not all users on the internet experience this bug, (some online videos shows that Green Screen actually works as advertised) it's most likely related to the video card driver. My video card is an ATI 4870. If you have such a card, there's probably no hope that you can get this feature to work unless Apple fixes the driver or possibly the iMovie application, or you use my tricky workaround.

It is probably broken, but wait and see, it takes several days to dry out. If it does start working that may only be temporary as the iPhone corrodes.

I was making a movie on iMovie, and the green screen wasn't working.

I was making a movie on iMovie, and was trying to use the green screen to make a split screen. I pressed on the green screen button, but the second clip didn't play next to the first, and only the audio played. I tried agian with some different clips, and only some of them worked. This hasn't happened before! I was just wondering why this would be happening and what I should do? (I am using iMovie '09)

If the touch screen is not having any response then you probably have a hardware failure. Take your phone to an Apple Store or authorised service provider to have it checked.

Trying to install search add-ons (top-rated, safe). I click install, restart and nothing happens. They do not appear in the search plugins folder.

Starting up with a new computer, I've been trying to install two search engine add-ons: easy youtube video downloader and
search IMDB. They are top rated so presumably safe and approved. I go through the whole process of installing them, and restart Firefox as instructed but nothing happens. I looked in the search plugins folder in Firefox (Program Files). I can see the search add-ons that were there when I first started on this computer, but none of the ones I'm trying to add are there. If the screen is clean and you restored to factory defaults/new iPod and are still having the problem that indicates hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Try a reset. Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider.

When running Quicktime 7.7 with Firefox 7.01 on MAX OS X v 10.5.8 the menu drop down box will not drop down. Yo uclick and nothing happens. All of the other buttons work. Is there a fix?

You need to delete those applications and then download them from the desired Apple ID. This may require repurchasing paid ones.
