On opening when I start to type in the google box the page slips to the bottom making it necessary to scroll to the top and hope it stays there. What can be done to correct that
I have a HP Media Center PC with XP Professional with all 3 fixes. I don't know what more details you need. When I start page comes up for Firefox it is properly positioned. When I start to type in the search box of Google it jumps to the bottom of the page making it necessary for me to scroll back to the top before I can try to type again. Very annoying!

I can only guess about the reason... Firefox works with many websites' "rich text" editors, but ones that haven't been updated for five years may assume that Firefox is the old Netscape browser and use scripting techniques that don't work in Firefox.
If Verizon has a different "basic" or HTML editor that you can tolerate using, you could try that. It might not be subject to the same incompatibilities.
If I someday get a Verizon account, I will surely be looking into this further, but for now, it's hard to suggest anything else. -

The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.

For 10.5/10.6, System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...

I seem to have fixed it by putting <div class="clearfloat"></div> after the navigation bar?

version 5 loaded on windows 7. all went well for a while. one day while using, ratio of normal screen doubled in width; i.e. half the page disappears off the screen to the right (on a wide screen). when full screen mode applied, ratio is fine. it only happens in normal view, which is the usually prefered option. I cannot determine any means within the program to resize the normal screen. nothing else is affected, only mozilla firefox in normal view. not that when program is opened from keyboard the page is correct for a moment, then enlarges the width with 1/2 page dissappearing.
This issue can be caused by the Babylon Toolbar 1.1.8 extension

Some of my email is duplicating. What can I do to correct that?
For some time now, I noticed that some of my email is duplicating each time I check my email. (I like to check my email frequently throughout the day.) I can't figure out what to do. I tried downloading a app that was suppose to eliminate that problem. The app I downloaded only caused those duplicated email to truncate. So, I figured I could unsubscribe from those companies. Thanks for replying to my problem. After posting I noted the "More Like This" box on the right of the screen. The top topic was "Restore old dual screen functionality" and turned out to be the the same question with a surprising answer - in the "Mission Control" dialogue, NOT the "Displays" dialogue. There are five tick boxes at the top of the Mission Control screen and the last of them is "Displays have separate spaces" and this box was ticked through the loading of the Mavericks op. system (presumably). Unticking this box, as advised, restored the 'extended' mode and all is now well.
