One server connected to two SLD.

Hi all,
I have an scenario were a system must to be connected to two XI system ( each one with their own SLD ), using ABAP proxy. Is this possible to do?

Thats not a good way to go through.. but since it is your requirement..
Create Techinical and Business systems in both the SLDs with same names. DO NOT assign the Transportation Target for the source BS in the source SLD. Also, do not put any value for the Transportation Source for the Target business system in the target SLD.
Both the XI systems must have the required HTTP ports created with the corresponding R3 systems to enable the proxy communication.

Did anyone tried and successfully implemented multiple rpds on one bi server. I have similar requirement in one of the clients place.
1. Install OBIEE 11g with vertical scaling( reason client doesnt want to spend extra money on additional server licenses) and would like to utilize the powerful existing servers.
2. Install 2 rpds on One BI Server and connect to two different datamarts.
3. Create two PS and provide two links to have two different reporting environments.
Appreciate with any pointers. I am very clear on Vertical Scaling and bumping up the Bi , PS and Java Hosts components. I saw a post with successful implementation of the same functionility in 10g and nothing in 11g. I already reviewed ritmanmeed blogs but did not give a complete picture of successfull implementation.

Yes, it is possible to have two different .rpds on one BI Server but then you need to set up two different Presentation Servers.

2012 R2 - One server not applying two updates. Lists AD / SYSVOL Version Mismatch

So we have a bunch of servers running 2012 R2. On 1 or 2 of them I have a certain GPO that isn't applying. The specific one I'm having trouble with is our SNMP settings. The base settings applied but then we updated the GPO to add in an
additional IP address. Most servers pulled it down fine but 1 or 2 did not. Tried gpupdate /force and normal things and just can't get it to apply.
I can the gpresult /h and in the html file it says:
The following GPOs have special alerts
Default Domain Policy - AD / SYSVOL Version Mismatch
SNMP - AD / SYSVOL Version Mismatch
The only info I found on that error talks about a particular patch but we already have that patch installed. The change was put in over a week ago and is still not flowing to just these specific machines.
Anyone have any idea how I can figure out what the problem is? They are production machines so I can't reboot them until Saturday night when we are scheduled to do the Feb Patches anyway. I don't know if that will help or not so if there's something
else I can check in the meantime, that'd be great.

Quick note on this issue:
I was running RSOP against a user and server other than the local server, and the error would not go away, I tried installing the patches and rollups on the DC I was seeing the error on. Since these were already installed I tried installing
them from the stand alone download.
They complained about already being installed, so I was relegated to doing more research.
After some time, and while chasing a separate issue on the other server, I noticed that the updates on THAT SERVER were not up to date. I ran into issues updating due to corruption (another story altogether), but with the help of Microsoft Support,
I was able to get THAT SERVER updated.
I went back to troubleshooting the AD / Sysvol error, starting from scratch...trying to install the patches that were already installed...etc.
Just for grins and giggles, I re-ran the RSOP against the original user and the other server and viola, the error is gone.
Longer story than it needed to be, I know, but this leads me to believe that the error is NOT on the DC to DC but an issue with the server your running RSOP against. I am not positive that this is actually the case, but this may help someone out.
So if anyone can test and/or verify this please post.

How to find the server connected from multiple switched netwtwork

I have one server connected to distrubted switch or acces switch in network .
They were 45 switches in netwrok and need help how to find that server connected switch from Core switch ?
How many mehtodes and process we can use to find that connected physical switch ?

It's a bit of a tedious process. but if you ping the IP address of the server from the core switch and then check the ARP entry to get its MAC address, you can then trace the address tables in the switches to find the switch that the server is physically connected to. Once you have the MAC address, you'll have to check the address table in each switch in the path between the core and the server to find it.

Can we able to connect one Business System with two Integration Server?
I have one Business system (ECC 6.0 with the client 900) and it is already connected with PI 7.0 system.Can I able to connect the same sytem (with same client) with PI7.1?
I want to do the HTTP Connection for ABAP Proxy for this two XI system with one business Sytem ?

I want to connect same ECC system via abap proxy with two different PI system .One is PI7.0 and another one is PI7.1 system.

If you are having WiFi problems it is necessary to isolate whether the problem is with your network or your iPad. Note: Do NOT consider your network to be blameless if some other devices can connect to it.
First, test your iPad on some other WiFi networks: a friends, Starbucks, Barnes & Noble, etc.
If it works well there then the problem is probably with your network. Try restarting your WiFi router by removing power for 30 seconds. If that does not help check for a firmware update for your router. If none exists which corrects the problem consider replacing the router.
If your iPad does not function well on other networks it possibly has a hardware problem. You could try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings to see if that corrects the problem. If not, contact Apple Support or visit an Apple store for evaluation. They can provide a replacement if your iPad is bad.
If you need more help please give the make, model, and version of your WiFi router and how you have it configured.

Two different DB version in one server machine, help please

I have two databases in one server.
One is 10g1 version, currently running. another one I just installed is 10g2 version. They each has it's own home. I mean two versions sit in separate oracle home. They both in window.
However, through sqlplus, toad etc, I can only access 10g1.
How can I access both versions through sqlplus and toad? What do I need to set up ?

The listener.ora configures the piece that listens on the network. Each database must register to the listener. You only need one listener on the machine and each database should register to that listener. To check, run the command line 'lsnrctl status'
In your control panel, set the listener for 19gR1 to start manually (and then never start it)
The tnsnames.ora configures the client. Basically it says 'when yoohoo asks to connect to database blah, that means connect to host boing, talk to the listener on port whatever (usually 1521) and ask for a connection to database service bingo' as in

So when you use the sqlplus from one Oracle Home and try to connect to the other database, you are missing critical pieces of information that are found only in the other ORACLE_HOME
The fix - as others say, is to run netca or netmgr (both available from START menu). Or simply open both tnsnames.ora files and make the match up by adding whatever entries are needed.

Sun One application server connection problem for Oracle DB

On our project in live environments we have six Sun One application servers that have been configured to connect to RAC Oracle database using OCI drivers. ( JDBC thick driver)
Sun one application server : Version 7.0.0
Oracle Database : Version 9.2.0.4.0
Following are two scenarios where Sun one server receives an error while attempting to perform any DML operations onto the database e.g. when you will try to send a insert/update msg through sun One.
Case 1: - If the Oracle package/procedure/function is compiled using �Alter package/function/procedure....� command
problem
Any attempt to perform a DML operation using RMI calls though Sun one application server with already established oracle connection will fail.
Sun One application server needs to be bounced to get an up-to-date state of the package.
Case 2: If the Oracle package/procedure/function is compiled using �Create or Replace package/function/procedure....� command
problem
First attempt to perform any DML operation using RMI calls though Sun one application server with already established oracle connection will always fail. Any subsequent attempts will be successful.
We are using JDBC OCI think drivers. I tried flushing Shared pool at the Oracle side but it didn't help. For some reason Sun One seems to Cache the session information for already establised connections with Oracle database. As its live system we don't want any outage. i.e we know bouncing oracle app server will solve the problem.
So just wondering is there way/workaround to make aware the already estlised connection from sun one appserver to Oracle DB about changed packages/proceduress in the DB?
Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated.

Connecting Two SLDs in r XI Landscape

Hi Folks,
We have set up two SLDs for our XI landscape. One SLD for Development/QA and second one for Production. I have configured all the post install steps on XI Production System including SLD config steps.
I would like to know the steps for connecting both the SLDs.
I have seen number of Wlogs/forum discussions, but little bit confused on where to start. Due to shortage of time, please suggest right Wlog or any other documents which meets my requirements.
Your help in this regard would be highly appreciated.

Solution Manager 3.2: SLD server connection is inactive SCDT_LIS_IF011

Trying to execute an automatic data transfer from SLD to Solution Manager 3.2 with transaction SMSY_SETUP, I have recieved the update log message:
The SLD server connection is inactive
Message no. SCDT_LIS_IF011
SLD Connection Test displayed:
No business system maintained in SLD
--> check data integrity within the SLD
We customized transactions SLDAPICUST,LCRSERVADDR, SMSY_SETUP->Edit->expert setting as requested in SAP documentation and definied technical, system and business landscapes in SLD (SLD server log: no errors found).

due to the fact that we (up to now) have no need for a business landscape, we created one manualy to test if the check would get a bit further then.
We created a business landscape with the following settings:
Technical System: Web AS ABAP
System: <solution manager>
Business System Role: Application System
Related Integration Server: (no integration server defined)
Testing the Connection wit SLDCHECK we got this error message:

One Internet Connection, Two different LANS & Two DHCP Servers, How to share internet without conflict?

I have two LANs and one internet connection. Each LAN has its own DHCP server. I want to be able to have internet access on BOTH LANs but don't
want to have a DHCP conflict between them.
The main LAN is a Time Warner Cable modem and a Cisco router running DHCP going to a 48 port switch that has all the workstations connected.
The second is a stand alone Windows 2012 WDS server which is ONLY use to image computers via WDS. The server is running DHCP as well and is connected to another 48 port switch where I connect systems that need to be imaged.
I want to be able to provide internet access on LAN with the Windows 2012 WDS server so after I image the computers I can download drivers direct from the internet. The Windows WDS server has two NIC cards but I am only using one. Is
it possible to configure this so the internet from the main LAN is shared to the WDS server and its clients without causing problems with the two DHCP servers? Here is a basic network diagram. Thanks!

To share the internet on secondary VLAN, please follow the steps below:
Connect the secondary switch to Cisco router
Configure the devices on secondary VLAN to use Cisco router as its' gateway
Configure NAT for secondary VLAN on Cisco router
Due to different manufacturer has different ways to configure, for detailed configuration information, please consult the manufacturer of the switch and router.

SLD server connection is inactive SCDT_LIS_IF011

After install and test SLD into XI 3.0, I am trying to customizr a Solution Manager 3.1 to connecto with SLD using SYSM_SETUP. I configure RZ70, SLDAPICUST, and SMSY_SETUP->Edit->expert setting as requested in SAP documentation.
When I try from SMSY_SETUP, Schedule data transfer from lis/SLD, the update log returns a message:

When executing SLDCHECK I get all checks with green status except:
Calling function LCR_GET_OWN_BUSINESS_SYSTEM
Retrieving data from the SLD server...
No corresponding business system found
=> Check the SLD data content for the current system client
Summary: Some non-fatal exception has occured, but connection to SLD works technically
=> Check and maintain the SLD data content
Checking SLD data content, no error reported found.
Someone have some sugestion how to fix it??

We met this problem too.
However, we solved the problem. In our situation, it was becasue the sldapiuser was locked on SLD. The following is our solution.
1. logon to http://<sldhost>/<port>/sld to check the ID and password of the SLD user (e.g sldapiuser)
2. fill in the user and password in /sldapicust
3. go to /smsy_setup Edit<<expert settings and then fill in the same user with the one you have in sldpicust
4. check the SLD connection with /sldcheck

you're right with two different VM you can manage that, but this is similar to have two different server. My goal is to use only a server (phisical or virtual)... I think with 8.8 version we can do it, but I glad if someone has some experience of this scenario..

The same server i want to installed SOLMAN 4.0 with sql 2005.

You only have to consider 2 things :
1. SAPTRANSHOST entry in hosts file will be the same for both systems
this mean that both systems will share the same transport directory

This is not true. Your SAPTRANSHOST will remain the same, but you can (and should) specify independent trans directories with the DIR_TRANS and and EPS profile parameters to designate where the instance trans files should be located (i.e. /usr/sap/trans_SID). I recommend you make this change in the existing host first, and then clear out the trans directory. Let the 2nd instance install into it and then alter that one too (thereby moving the files to the new /usr/sap/trans_SID2).
