Onenote behind proxy doesn't connect to skydrive

Running OneNote 2.1.2 on Ipad IOS7.0.2 , same issue on iphone (same versions)
Connection WiFI, with authenticated (through AD) proxy (at work).
Proxy defined in wifi settings of the ipad
ID/PWD also defined in proxy setting
Every other applications run fine behind proxy including skydrive for ipad.
OneNote cannot connect to skydrive.
Note: was the same on IOS 6 and all version 2 of onenote. Was working fine with version OneNote 1.3.
Thanks

I don't understand German, but I see you are using a proxy server.
That sometimes causes connection problems. Try turning it off.

  • Connection configuration properties behind proxy

    I'm trying to reach a web service registry from behind proxy. In order to connect to it I'm setting it's address and port using
    props.setProperty("javax.xml.registry.http.proxyHost", httpProxyHost);
    props.setProperty("javax.xml.registry.http.proxyPort", httpProxyPort);
    but getting HTTP 407 error - Proxy Authentication Required. I believe I need to set my proxy ID and password somehow. Dos anyone know how to do that? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
    Michael D.

    First, what API has the "javax.xml.registry" in it. I cant find any reference to it. I could have missed it I suppose. Let me know and I will take a look.
    Other ideas after looking at your code that you can try in the meantime.
    Since the Properties class is a hashtable it is based on key word value. The ConnectionFactory class needs to know the exact key.
    Try changing the following:
    props.setProperty("javax.xml.registry.http.proxySet", "true");
    to:
    props.setProperty("proxySet", "true");
    Do that for each line. Just use the last word (i.e. proxyHost, proxyPort). It could simply be that ConnectionFactory is not finding the correct key.
    I could be wrong here, but I am waiting to find out what API you are using.
    The SoapHTTPConnection class has a number of methods for working with a proxy, such as setPassword and setHost. Perhaps ConnectionFactory has the same settings or the connection returned has methods for this.
    Im not sure what class the createConnection method returns, but check there for appropriate methods.

  • Empathy longstanding issue behind proxy

    There is a longstanding issue of empathy (or telepathy-gabble) behind proxy.
    I have tried to get solutions for years. Here is the description:
    Settings:
    * I am behind a proxy.
    * I have set the system proxy settings and http_proxy/socks_proxy in the environment.
    * The latest version of empathy (3.12.1)
    Issue:
    I use empathy to login GTalk account. The authentication worked fine. However, there is
    an error "Network error" showing in the dialog. This happened before displaying
    my contacts. I googled this issue and found that something wrong with telepathy-gabble.
    So, I abandoned empathy for a long time.
    But, recently, I use a newly registered google account to login GTalk with empathy.
    Everything is well. I can chat with others. Still, I cannot login with my old account.
    This seems wired. I asked others to try their accounts, some of them can login without problem
    and some still have problem.
    For years, I can only use GMail in the browser to access my gtalk. I know this is about
    empathy rather than Arch Linux. But, I like this community and believe someone could help me.

    Hello Enrique,
    I fully agree - but unfortunately there is not much choice regarding the network layout. Or at least I cannot influence it ;-P
    The problem seems to be a bit mor subtle than I thought at first. I already have configured both Web Start and the browser to use the proxy. However, the error message clearly indicates that the integration builder (IB) doesn't use the configured port of the proxy to connect to the web application server, but another port.
    Our server listens on port 50000. The error message tells me that the IB tries to connect using port 50004. Obviousely it tries to open a direct socket to the server - probably an extra connection to exchange commands etc (RMI? CORBA? WebServices?). This is not possible in our network configuration.
    The question ist whether I can somehow influence this port to make a connection using this proxy possible...
    Regards, Joerg

    I can't set the plugin at client to use automatic script just like IE browser uses. This option is not supported in JRE1.3.1. Looks to be supported in JRE1.4.1. My client doesn't want to set manual proxy ip and port in plugin as they don't want to reveal this info to everyone within the company for security reason.
    Q.2. Why some classes like PanelBeanInfo.class, JAppletBeanInfo.class are downloaded

    Thanks in advance for any help.

    Thanks to Mike and other friends who already replied on this topic.
    Here is my research analysis:
    Answer to Question 1:
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    The solution is to bundle all the images with JAR. Bundle with jar whichever needs it. However, it might require duplicacy.
    Image img = null;
    try
    img = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getImage(getClass().getResource(fileName));
    catch (Exception e) { }
    In this case make sure that you have image at the same location where you access it. For example if you have to access an image in package class com.awt.ui.MyClass then your image should also be at location ..\com\awt\ui
    Note: It will require image duplicacy in your JAR but it solves the problem. It gives the advantage of fewer download from server.
    Answer to Question 2:
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    IE treats applet as an active-X and try to look for these classes in your JAR. SUN has stopped its support in JDK1.3.1 and plus. What one can do is to create dummy classes with these names and bundle it with your JAR. You have to create these dummy classes if you enable Basic authentication on your web server then browser will try to look for these classes on the server and continue to prompt you for login and password. It might bother your customer un-necessarily to enter login and password too many times prompted by plug-in (plug in).

    Have you ever checked to see if there is an update for your router? If yes, then power off router. Then on iPhone go into settings and do a reset network settings. Power router back on, and try connecting phone to router.

  • Creating java sockets behind proxy servers.

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a socket to an external server(i.e. a public server) from behind a proxy firewall, but the socket creation statement throws an IO exception. Can someone please let me know how to create sockets using proxy servers.
    TIA

    I tried using java.net.Proxy for the connection. But the socket to the proxy itself is not getting created. It throws the IllegalArgumentException.

  • OSB: Proxy doesn't consume JMS messages

    Guys, I'm getting stuck with this one ...
    I've got four JMS proxy services. One of them uses Publish to enqueue a message into the three others. This way I get three copies of a single message, each in dedicated JMS queue. The same three JMS proxies are supposed to consume messages from JMS queues and process them. The configuration is the same for all three proxies and all three JMS queues. In fact all was cloned and the difference is only in suffix. So, I've got QueueA, QueueB, QueueC and ProxyA, ProxyB and ProxyC. So if I stick to these names, ProxyMain uses 3x Publish actions to enqueue a message into ProxyA, ProxyB and ProxyC at the same time. This is a proved solution and it has worked for years flawlessly!
    However, something weird happened a couple of days ago. All of a sudden, one of those three consuming JMS proxies doesn't consume anything. There's no issue on producing side (the first proxy) as the numbers of messages in all three queues are still increasing. Still, only messages from QueueA and QueueB are being consumed by ProxyA and ProxyB. The third queue (QueueC) doesn't have any consumer attached from ProxyC and I don't know why.
    I've already checked everything I know - proxy is enabled, there are no errors in logs related to the proxy or JMS, the issue is not reproducible in test environment with the same configuration, there are no JMS Quota or connection factory restrictions, consuming flag is enabled on queue ...
    The lack of errors in logs makes me feel like the ProxyC is connected to something else. However, the same proxy is used for producing messages (from ProxyMain) and messages are incoming to the queue so the endpoint set in proxy must be correct!
    Any help, hint or idea is appreciated ...

    The third queue (QueueC) doesn't have any consumer attached from ProxyC and I don't know whyTry renaming ProxyC to say ProxyC1 and activate the session. This will create a new underlying MDB for the jms proxy and you will see consumers getting set on the queue.. Faced this issue many times in our production environment and easiest workaround we found was to rename the proxy service [ toggling enable/disable proxy doesn't seem to have ny effect).. you can change the name to the original proxy once the consumers are set..

  • Gtalk account not working behind proxy

    Hi there,
    I have configured Gtalk account in Message. But if I switch location to a corporate network (using proxy system wide in System Preference), I can never connect to the gtalk server. Seems it ignores the system proxy settings and connects to the server directly. And on Gtalk account of Message side, it does not have any proxy options there.
    I searched the issue for a while and hit many results, some are rather old threads, but seems none was solved. I was surprised that many years passed, this issue is still there?
    Thanks,
    Gan

    No errors, no hangs, nothing. It simply doesn't want to work with proxy. I need to go to the Help -> About Firefox, only then it starts to check the updates. There was already a report about it but report was closed and nothing changed since then. XP, 7 doesn't matter it doesn't work, version of Firefox doesn't matter as well 20 and 20.1 were tested last.

    2. If the Gateway is Win2003+RRAS+NAT or Win2003+ISA2005, there are not any problems to make FTP-connections from LAN to Internet FTP-servers
    3. But if the gateway is Win2008+RAS+NAT or Win2012+RRAS+NAT, the computers in the LAN are not able to connect to Internet FTP-servers
    I made a few tests:
    1. On Win2012+RRAS+NAT
    TurnOff Windows Firewall for All profiles (Domain, Private, Public) - the problem disappears, it it possible to connect to external Internet FTP-servers.
    2. On Win2012+RRAS+NAT
    TurnOff Windows Firewall only for Domain profile - the problem disappears, it it possible to connect to Internet FTP-servers.
    3. On Win2012+RRAS+NAT
    TurnOn Windows Firewall for All profiles (Domain, Private, Public)
    But I excluded the Internal NIC in this list
    Windows Firewall / Properties / Domain Profile / Protected network connections
    and the problem disappears again
    My question is:
    What new Firewall rule  I have to make and where to place it (to be able to make FTP-connection from LAN to Internet FTP-servers)?
    I made some attempts to allow port21, but any success.

    Thank you, but did you try this ?
    Can you describe in detail "exclusion rule for FTP traffic" ?!
    In my previous post, I want to say that if you use Win 2008/2012 RAS+NAT as a network gateway, than it is not possible to make FTP-connections to external FTP servers from the computers behind that gateway.
    And the standard attempts to make "Allow"-rules for port 21 in the gateway firewall (Win 2008/2012), do not solve the problem.
    No matter which FTP-client you can try to use.
    To see this problem, just make few simple tests:
    ">telnet <ftp-server> 21"
    with firewall on/off  and inbound/outbound "Allow port 21 rule (All/Domain/Private/Public)"
    In my country, the Government Tax Department uses FTP-protocol to collect monthly data from companies.
    And it is too stupid scenario (to be a small company and to) upgrade from Win 2003 to a newer 2008/2012 and than to not be able to make all your jobs.
    -------EDIT---------
    The same problem (and its solution) is described here:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/0c68aed6-e22b-4cd4-86bd-f3c767e88349/advanced-firewall-blocking-through-ftp-traffic-rras
    The magic command:
    ">netsh routing ip nat delete ftp"
    solved the problem for me.
    And here is the description of this command - "Disables the FTP proxy on the NAT server."

  • IOS5 software update behind proxy server

    Hi there.
    Have updated both iPhone and iPad to version 5.0.1 (using itunes) and have noticed the new software update feature inluded wiht v5.
    this works on the iphone when connected using a 3g connection, and on both when they are connected to my home wireless network, but on both devices it will not work when connected to my work network which uses a proxy server to connect to internet - comes up with "unable to check for update. An error occurred while checking for a software update."
    please advise how to get software update working behind a proxy server.
    David

    You're right.
    The position of the IT service of my customer is to say that the iPad is a very high quality product for personal use but it's a nightmare for using in enterprise. It has to work with their proxy as it is now. The idea is to integrate with the existing, not modify things to deal with iPad. At least at a pilot stage. In the same way, it's not possible to define exceptions in the proxy... That makes laughing the staff.

  • Safari doesn't connect

    Within the last week, Safari has quit working. It launches, but doesn't connect to anything. I'm using Netscape to post this... Netscape works fine, so it's not my network connection. I've trashed the Safari preferences file, but with no effect. What next?
    Thanks!

    Hi Steve,
    You're quite right in assuming that it's not your internet connection. However, I suspect that it could be the network settings which is the cause - perhaps something which Netscape seems to bypass.
    Could you provide details on how you have your network set up in the network preference pane? If you have a self-assigned IP or run completely on DHCP? If you have specified any DNS servers manually; if you have IPv6 enabled; or if you connect through a proxy; etc.
    Do you remember when this issue started? If you had performed any system updates just prior to its appearance?
