Connection configuration properties behind proxy
I'm trying to reach a web service registry from behind proxy. In order to connect to it I'm setting it's address and port using
props.setProperty("javax.xml.registry.http.proxyHost", httpProxyHost);
props.setProperty("javax.xml.registry.http.proxyPort", httpProxyPort);
but getting HTTP 407 error - Proxy Authentication Required. I believe I need to set my proxy ID and password somehow. Dos anyone know how to do that? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Michael D.
First, what API has the "javax.xml.registry" in it. I cant find any reference to it. I could have missed it I suppose. Let me know and I will take a look.
Other ideas after looking at your code that you can try in the meantime.
Since the Properties class is a hashtable it is based on key word value. The ConnectionFactory class needs to know the exact key.
Try changing the following:
props.setProperty("javax.xml.registry.http.proxySet", "true");
to:
props.setProperty("proxySet", "true");
Do that for each line. Just use the last word (i.e. proxyHost, proxyPort). It could simply be that ConnectionFactory is not finding the correct key.
I could be wrong here, but I am waiting to find out what API you are using.
The SoapHTTPConnection class has a number of methods for working with a proxy, such as setPassword and setHost. Perhaps ConnectionFactory has the same settings or the connection returned has methods for this.
Im not sure what class the createConnection method returns, but check there for appropriate methods.

Connection WiFI, with authenticated (through AD) proxy (at work).
Proxy defined in wifi settings of the ipad
ID/PWD also defined in proxy setting
Every other applications run fine behind proxy including skydrive for ipad.
OneNote cannot connect to skydrive.
Note: was the same on IOS 6 and all version 2 of onenote. Was working fine with version OneNote 1.3.
ThanksI don't understand German, but I see you are using a proxy server.
That sometimes causes connection problems. Try turning it off.

How to configure https connection using a http proxy in weblogic server
Hi,
I have a proxy in Aqualogic Service Bus that points to a https external service. Our development environment internet access is supported by a http proxy server. The ALSB proxy fails to connect, with the following error message:

I've added the following parameters to jvm args:
-Dhttp.proxyHost=10.128.0.50
-Dhttp.proxyPort=3126
-Dhttp.proxyUser=<someUserName>
-Dhttp.proxyPassword=<somePassword>
Accessing the page in Internet Explorer or Firefox is working fine. Somebody knows any additional configuration to this case?
Thanks in advance
Rogério CruzIn osb you can configure a HTTP proxy server. Once this is done all BS http/https requests will be through the configured proxy server.

Empathy longstanding issue behind proxy
There is a longstanding issue of empathy (or telepathy-gabble) behind proxy.
I have tried to get solutions for years. Here is the description:
Settings:
* I am behind a proxy.
* I have set the system proxy settings and http_proxy/socks_proxy in the environment.
* The latest version of empathy (3.12.1)
Issue:
I use empathy to login GTalk account. The authentication worked fine. However, there is
an error "Network error" showing in the dialog. This happened before displaying
my contacts. I googled this issue and found that something wrong with telepathy-gabble.
So, I abandoned empathy for a long time.
But, recently, I use a newly registered google account to login GTalk with empathy.
Everything is well. I can chat with others. Still, I cannot login with my old account.
This seems wired. I asked others to try their accounts, some of them can login without problem
and some still have problem.
For years, I can only use GMail in the browser to access my gtalk. I know this is about
empathy rather than Arch Linux. But, I like this community and believe someone could help me.Hello Enrique,
I fully agree - but unfortunately there is not much choice regarding the network layout. Or at least I cannot influence it ;-P
The problem seems to be a bit mor subtle than I thought at first. I already have configured both Web Start and the browser to use the proxy. However, the error message clearly indicates that the integration builder (IB) doesn't use the configured port of the proxy to connect to the web application server, but another port.
Our server listens on port 50000. The error message tells me that the IB tries to connect using port 50004. Obviousely it tries to open a direct socket to the server - probably an extra connection to exchange commands etc (RMI? CORBA? WebServices?). This is not possible in our network configuration.
The question ist whether I can somehow influence this port to make a connection using this proxy possible...

Office 365 ProPlus couldn't verify subscription behind proxy
Hi,
I have installed Office 365 Pro Plus, and it all works well. Maybe a month after i installed it, the title bar turned red on my office apps saying i had an unlicensed product, and i had another red bar within the apps saying
COULDN'T VERIFY SUBSCRIPTION Outlook couldn't verify your Office 365 subscription. Please make sure you're connected to the Internet.
There's a Retry button as well which tries, and I assume fails when I click it.
If I connect my PC directly to the internet then this verification process appears to succeed, as the red bars will go away. But how do i get it working behind my proxy? The proxy is set in Internet Options, and we have no problems otherwise.
I have had a look here: http://technet.microsoft.com/library/hh373144.aspx
All the "Office 365 ProPlus URLs" work fine in my browser except sls.microsoft.com (but this doesn't work with a direct internet connection either).
We have a KMS server in our environment, but as far as I can see Office 365 does not connect to KMS.
Any ideas what else this could be?
Thanks,
Nick.Hi Nick,
Your description suggests it is a proxy access issue. I would suggest you check this Technet article, especially the
Issue: Internet Connection Required section:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg998767(v=office.15).aspx#BKMK_Internet
If your organization requires Internet connectivity through a specific proxy server and
Automatically detect settings should be unchecked, you must enable Office 365 services to connect. To do this, use the Bitsadmin command-line tool and run the following command:
bitsadmin /util /setieproxy networkservice MANUAL_PROXY proxyserver:port
Hope it is helpful to you. By the way,

Prerequisites to configuration for ABAP Proxy -???
My scenario is file->XI->R/3(abap server proxy).
Xi and R/3 are 2 seperate business systems
-Abap server proxy created on R/3 business system. R/3 client 550
-Xi client 400.
-SLD is common for both XI and R/3
<b>My question is in reference to the below message thread:</b>
<b>1.I understand all the below configuartaion has to be done on R/3 business system, tell me am I correct</b>
<b>2. are these configuartion needed for <u>client proxy as well as server proxy</u> also?</b>
HTTP_RESP_STATUS_CODE_NOT_OK
The prerequisites to configuration for ABAP Proxy include: (landscape dependent)
1. The business systems should be based on SAP Web AS 6.20 and SAP Web AS 6.20 kernel patch level above 1253
2. You have installed the XI Add-On in each of these business systems as described in the Installation Guide SAP Exchange Infrastructure 3.0
3. The business systems and your central Integration Server are maintained in the System Landscape Directory (SLD).
Configuration required on the Business System:
1. Create HTTP connection in the business system.
Configuration Details:
Technical Setting:
1. Following Inputs are required for technical setting
1 Connection Type: H
2 Target Host: System name
3 Service Number: HTTP Port name
4 Path Prefix: /sap/XI/engine/?type=entry
Logon Security
On the Logon/Security tab page, enter the following logon data:
1 User: XIAPPLUSER (for example); this user should represent the sending business system (see also the SAP XI Security Guide under Service Users for Message Exchange).
2 Password: the password you have specified for this user
3 Client: SAP XI Integration server
4 Language: Language required
2. Configuration Business system as local Integration Engine.
1. Goto Transaction SXMB_ADM
2. Choose Edit --> Change Global Configuration Data.
3. Select Role of Business System: Application system
4. Corresponding Integration server: dest://<HTTPDESTINATION>. Here <HTTPDESTINATION> SAPISU_XID created in step 1. Dest://SAPISU_XID.
5. Under Specific Configuration Data you can specify additional configuration data
1.Select the relevant category under Specific Configuration Data.
2.Choose Change Specific Configuration Data.
For ABAP Proxies, Add the following configuration:
1.Category RUNTIME
2.Parameters: IS_URL
3.Current Value: dest://SAPISU_XID
Configuration of the Integration Engine
3. Connection between Business System and System Landscape Directory
1. Create RFC destination (TCP/IP) LCRSAPRFC and SAPSLDAPI for the SLD connection.
1.Execute transaction SM59 in the business system.
2.Choose Create.
3.Enter at least the following:
1.RFC Destination: LCRSAPRFC
2.Connection Type: T
3.Description: <your description>
4.Choose ENTER.
5.Choose the Technical settings tab page and do the following:
6.In the Program ID field under Registered Server Program, enter LCRSAPRFC
7.This program ID must correspond to a program ID specified in the RFC engine settings of the SAP J2EE Engine on the Integration Server host.
RFC Destination
2. Maintaining the SAP J2EE Connection Parameters for LCRSAPRFC and SAPSLDAPI in SAP J2EE engine
1. Goto J2EE Engine
2. Choose Cluster --> Server --> Services. JCo RFC provider
3. Under RFC destination specify the following:
Program ID: LCRSAPRFC
Gateway Host: <Integration Server host>
Gateway Service: <Integration Server gateway service>
Number of process: 3
4. Under Repository specify the following:
Application Server: <Integration Server host>
5. Choose Set.
3. Maintain SLD access details in Transaction SLDAPICUST
1. You can reuse this program ID for all Business systems
2. If there is HTTP error during connection, first run transaction SLDCHECK in the Business system. Also check that HTTP connection is working fine.
3. In XI Adapter use HTTP connection rather then giving R/3 input details as this is easier to transport and maintenance
4. One receiver adapter can be used for all Interfaces connecting to a Business system.
<b>Thanks for your reply in adavnce.</b>
KK2. are these configuartion needed for client proxy as well as server proxy also?
>>>>
the configuration is one time thing and your R3 will act as a server or client according to the data being sent or received.
In R3 a point to be noted is that in SXMB_ADM -> Intg. Engine Confg. -> Role of Business System sud be as a Application System.

Configuring ISE to proxy Authentications based on email address
Hi
I'm looking for a little help configuring ISE to proxy requests to external radius servers based on email address and password. I want to configure eduroam on our WLAN. Eduroam allows students connect to the WIFI of other Campuses using their local credentials
Workflow:
User associates to SSID (eduroamTest)
Prompted for username & password (802.1x)
User puts in username and password in the form [email protected] (UPN)
If the user is part of our local institution they are authenticated using our local radius server (ISE)
If the user is a member of a partner institution the request is proxied to an external radius server (National Gateways).
The National Gateways passes the request to the relevant institution based on the UPN (eg @ucd.ie will be passed to ucd radius servers)
The institution authenticates the user and passes the request back to the National Gateways
The National Gateways passes this request back to our ISE server and the external user is authenticated
The user can browse the web
What I have done:
Setup the National Gateways as external proxy servers
Created firewall rules to allow the traffic
Configured the proxy sequence with these servers
Created a policy to proxy requests to the proxy sequence
What I need to figure out:
How to get ISE to authenticate/proxy requests, for the SSID eduroamTest, based on UPN eg (if username = *@rcsi.ie then use local ISE otherwise use proxy service)
Any help with this configuration would be greatly appreciated as I am new to ISE.
If you need any more info please let know.
Kind regards
JohnSounds like you did most of the work already. To get ISE to direct certain requests based on attributes in the request to another radius server, all you need to do, is create a new authentication rule, where you check for the following attributes ;
radius/called-station-id contains "eduroam"
and
radius/username ends with "rcsi.ie"
Then you can select the radius server sequence you created instead of the normal "Allowed protocols" list.
If you want to be in control of the authorization, there is a flag you must set in the radius server sequence in ISE, this will let you control what rights the client is given locally, while still authenticating the user remotely. -
XI adapter polling issue & JDBC / DB2 driver connection timeout properties
Hello Group,
We have a long running issue with our XI 7.0 system running on iseries. (V5R3) The issue occuring is that our XI adapters stop polling and the only resolution is to restart the J2EE engine or to resart the adapter framework services.
We have had several OSS messages open on this subject for over a year and are going round in circles with the a number of different SAP consultants.
The one topic that we keep coming back to is that we are being asked to set DB2 driver connection timeout properties. We are using the toolbox driver and have upated to the latest JTopen driver, but have not managed to find any inofrmation on how to set the timeout parameter. Does anyone know where the timeout parameter set?
Has anyone experienced polling issue like this before and how did you resolve?
SAP referred to the SAP note 1078420 - XI/PI JDBC Adapter: Setting JDBC driver properties for DB which is for Oracle, but this will give an idea of what timeout parameters SAP are asking about.
Extract of the note is below:-
Symptom
This note gives an option to set JDBC driver properties while acquiring a DB connection. When connecting to DB using JDBC adapter there are instances
where DB connection take a long time to establish connection. Some times call made to Driver will hang permanently. Setting driver properties would resolve this problem.
More Terms
Connection timeout, time out, query timeout
Cause and Prerequisites
Solution
In the advanced mode table section of sender channel and receiver channel configurations, we can set driver properties for each DB connection. Any
such property would have to contain prefix 'driver:'(with out quotes) For example, for Oracle Database JDBC thin driver 10.2.0.3 version, the
property oracle.jdbc.ReadTimeout helps to set read timeout while reading from the socket. Also for setting login time out in Oracle, we use
oracle.net.CONNECT_TIMEOUT. To set these two properties use as follows:
driver:oracle.jdbc.ReadTimeout 1000
driver:oracle.net.CONNECT_TIMEOUT 1000
(The TimeOut Driver properties like ReadTimeout and CONNECT_TIMEOUT are in milliseconds)
Refer to your DB documentation/ JDBC driver documentation on this. Please note that properties can vary from each driver version. For instance, some
of properties of Oracle JDBC thin Driver 10.2.0.3 properties may not be present in older version drivers. Please contact DB vendor for the complete
list of driver properties. In addition to above, we also provide another parameter for query time out.
sqlquerytimeout (prefix 'driver:' is not required) is the parameter that is to be used for SQL query time out. This is case-sensitive and should be
configured as positive integer value in seconds(greater than 0).
Any help on this would be much appreciated.
With regards,
StevenHello,
I am not talking about the XI timeouts. But the timeouts which can be used to get the connection timeouts for DB2/AS400 databases.
So please provide that information.
THanks,
soorya -
IFS-20010 : Unable to get service configuration properties
Hi all,
I am trying to connect to IFS using JDeveloper. I have coded a JSP which makes a call to my java class to connect.
I know that I can connect from my machine because I can run a simple application from the command line to create
a file in IFS.
Anyway, I set up my classpath under Project Settings as follows (same as my classpath on command line):
C:\oracle\JDeveloper\9ifs\settings;.;C:\DOCUMENT\jars\adk.jar;C:\DOCUMENT\jars\email.jar;
C:\DOCUMENT\jars\repos.jar;C:\DOCUMENT\jars\utils.jar;C:\DOCUMENT\jars\xmlparserv2.jar;
C:\oracle\ora90\jdbc\lib\classes12.zip
When I run the jsp under JDeveloper I get the following output on my developer console.
Should the classpath value be what I have entered for my classpath under Project Settings?

LMS 4.0.1 tries to connect to itself through proxy
Hello,
I am experiencing a weird issue with LMS 4.0.1 running on Windows 2008 R2 Standard Edition.
LMS 4.0.1 can connect to the Internet through a web proxy. This proxy does not require authentication. I need to configure proxy in LMS in order to quickly update LMS (by doing Device Updates for CiscoView and Inventory Config)
As soon as I configure proxy settings for CCO connection (i.e, under Admin -> Cisco.com settings -> Proxy Server Setup), LMS stops working properly. In particlar, ANI database breaks down (this is actually still running, but connection to ANI is impossible).
After doing packets capture, I noticed that LMS server (which is called SRVLMS01) tries to connect to itself *through the proxy* when configured. Of course, this does not work (the proxy refuses such connection) - see below (especially packet #8):
4 0.002564 <LMS IP address> <Proxy IP address> HTTP POST http://SRVLMS01:1741/CSCOnm/servlet/com.cisco.nm.cmf.servlet.LwmsMainServlet?fromCLI=true HTTP/1.1
5 0.002585 <LMS IP address> <Proxy IP address> HTTP Continuation or non-HTTP traffic
6 0.003617 <Proxy IP address> <LMS IP address> TCP http-alt > 34514 [ACK] Seq=1 Ack=763 Win=64938 Len=0
7 0.007023 <Proxy IP address> <LMS IP address> TCP [TCP segment of a reassembled PDU]
8 0.007025 <Proxy IP address> <LMS IP address> HTTP HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden (text/html)
Everything recovers when removing proxy settings and restarting LMS processes (that is, ANI server comes back online).
FYI, Internet Explorer on LMS server is configured so that proxy settings are bypassed when connecting to http://srvlms01 or to http://<LMS server IP address>. Using IE on the server itself to connect to LMS works just fine.
Of course, I could remove LMS proxy settings and download all CiscoView packages manually, but that would be really painful.
Kind regards
Pierre-LoicBonjour Pierre-Loic,
Can you try on the server to use the resolver.pl in /opt/CSCOpx/bin to resolve the hostname of the server and it's IP address.
Do they resolve to what you think they should?
Meanwhile, download the device package updates can be done quite quickly, installing them can take longer I noticed.
Cheers,

I have developed a web application which has an applet inside it.
When I am running it in safari without a proxy it works fine but when i use proxy it says class not found.
IE, Firefox and chrome work behind proxy. Opera does not work but it shows different error.
