Only 1 GB of Storage on the Cloud

I only have 1 GB of storage on the Cloud, but everything I'm reading says that if you download the app you get 5 GB of free storage space.  How do I get the 5 GB?  Thanks.

Good question Thieves. Here is a link that will help with your inquires about 5gb of data. Download and install the Verizon Cloud app on your smartphone to get 5 GB of free storage - enough to back up your contacts, text messages, call logs and more*. And if you're a photo or music enthusiast, Verizon Cloud has upgrade options that work for your digital life. Have you downloaded the app to your phone yet?

  • I can't figure out why my ipad is saying it's full but I have just purchased storage on the cloud

Not sure what I am doing wrong here. I am not able to take pic or vids on ipad as it's saying it's full but I have purchased storage on the cloud and set it up as directed on the website
Can anyone help me figure out what I need to do please
    Thanks

An easy check.  Go into the settings on your iPad, and under your iCloud account, check the setting for "photos".  If there is a setting for "my photo stream" and it is on, then you are using Photo Stream - My Photo Stream FAQ - Apple Support
Note from that FAQ that Photo Stream never used any of your personal iCloud storage anyway, so buying more personal storage does not increase space for photo stream.  Photo stream is a system intended for synchronization of images across multiple devices and was never intended to be used as permanent storage or backup.  It is a temporary parking place for images to allow for them to be shared across multiple devices.
With iOS 8.3 and OS X 10.10.3, there is a new service, iCloud Photo Library which actually IS online storage of your photo's - all your photo's.  It does use space in your personal iCloud account.  Since the default free storage is only 5GB and is used for your iCloud mail, backups, synchronized files and data, the default setting for iCloud Photo Library is to keep all photo's on the device as they are, in order not to fill up your free iCloud storage.  If you purchase additional storage and want to remove photos from an iDevice or computer, then you need to change the settings on the device to clear out space once it has uploaded images to your iCloud account.
If, in your iPad's settings, general, about just look at the "version" line.  If it is not showing 8.3, then you cannot possibly be using iCloud Photo Library and must be using Photo Stream.  Until you upgrade to iOS 8.3 you would not even have the option to use iCloud Photo Library as it is a new service, introduced with iOS 8.3.
If you are running iOS 8.3, under your iCloud account settings, under "Photos" you will have three settings:
    1. iCloud Photo Library - enable this to use your personal iCloud account storage for cloud storage of your photo library
    2. My Photo Stream - enable this to synchronize photo's across all your devices that share the same iCloud account.  This does NOT use any of your personal iCloud account's storage.  Images will be automatically deleted from your stream after 30 days.
    3. iCloud Photo Sharing - allows you to create albums which can be shared (viewed) with others.

    Additional info on this:
I strongly suspect this is time machine-related. Even though time machine has been turned off, this happens at intervals of exactly one hour.
A single entry appears in the kernel log at the precise moment the (first) popup error box appears. This is:
    "AppleSRP started."
Anyone have any clue how to go about diagnosing or fixing this? I don't even mind trying something brute force (short of wiping the HD and reinstalling lion, which I really DON'T want to do; I don't mind a non-destructive reinstall).

That file could be set as a Launch Agent or Daemon in your ~/Library or /Library, You could try to look for it or Safeboot your computer and then empty the trash. Safebooting disables Launch Agents/Daemon and Third Party Kernal extensions. Here's the article to Safeboot OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode? - Apple Support

  • HT4539 Allow only iPad apps to down from the cloud to ipad

I have an iPhone and iPad. When I download an app to my iPhone, the cloud sends it to my iPad as well. I only want iPad apps on my ipad

If you've turned on automatic downloads on the iPad, then any app that you purchase/download on your iPhone and/or computer will be downloaded to it if it is compatible (e.g. you have the relevant iOS version on the iPad and it's not, for example, an iPhone-only app that needs full phone capability), you can't only specify it to only download iPad-only apps.

  • Photo storage in the cloud

I am looking for away to store -- and access -- photos in a cloud based environment, similar to my iTunes.  I have nearly 4,000 photos on my phone and am out of room.  These are all photos of my son over the past five years.  I have them backed up multiple places but like to have them on my phone so I can look through them when I have free time or am feeling nostalgic.   With the new operating system, I can access and play my iTunes through the cloud without having the actual songs on my phone, is there a similar thing for photos?  Photo stream only does the last 1000 photos so doesn't work.
    HELP!
    Thank you!

  • PLEASE! How to delete songs (album) bought, on my "iCloud"? These songs are even no visible on my library.. Only on my iPhone tracklist with the cloud on the right side. I don't arrive to delete

    Hi,
I've got a little problem with my iTunes, because i've purchased some albums on iTunes Store before having my iPhone.
Then I have my iPhone and these songs were automaticly synchronized with my iPhone and they are not in my iTunes's library, but they are on my iPhone's tracklist with the "Cloud" on the right side of each song. The prob is that I want to delete them... And I can't because I don't know where are the songs..!
    Can you help me please?

You can't delete them because they aren't on your phone.  These are links to previously purchased songs that you can download from the iTunes store.  Your previously purchased song list cannot be deleted.  However, you can keep these from appearing in your song list by going to Settings>iTunes & App Store and turning off Music under Show All.

  • I bought storage in the cloud to move my photo's from my phone to the cloud.   How can I do this?

  • What is the best company for simple archive and storage in the cloud.

Yes, I moved to iCloud a while ago. Yeah, I realize that time is running out for my items stored on my MobileMe iDisk!! Has anyone found a company that offers cloud archive and storage with good encryption? I am really not interested in sharing of any sort. Once I load it up, I will remove it from my computer. I have no intention on downloading these files to any other computer or iOS device. I will also store it locally on an external device as an additional backup.
Yes, I know about Box, Drop and the other popular ones, but again, I am don’t want sharing to be the selling point.
    Any help much appreciated.

    James,
If you DoubleClick the Pencil Tool or the Paintbrush Tool you can see the options. I believe you will wish to have both Keep Selected and Edit Selected Paths unticked for what you describe, but you can try all the possible settings and see what they do.
Help>Illustrator Help can give you some more, and you can make searches of this kind here (shown for Pencil Tool):

  • I have the Creative Cloud for photographers that comes with 2GB of cloud storage. Can I purchase more storage on the cloud?

My catalog is larger than 3 gigs. I would like to have more cloud storage. Can I purchase more on my plan?

I am sorry as of now there is no feature to purchase extra storage, however you can always fill in the feature request form for Adobe to consider your wish in https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform

  • I cannot back up my phone or my iPad because I don't have enough storage on the cloud (although I did buy extra storage). I was synching my photos on my devices and my Mad but I took this function off and I still have no storage.

I reckon that my iCloud is full with my photos but I can not find the way to delete photos or videos from I cloud

Photo stream photos don't use any of your iCloud storage so deleting them won't make any difference.  Only camera roll photos use your photos, and only if you are backing up to iCloud, as they are included in the backup.
To see what is using your storage, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Bakup>Manage Storage.  This article provides some suggestions for reducing your storage: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4847.

  • HT204053 My wife and I bought our phones separately with different credit cards and our own information. Why is it set up with us SHARING the 5GB storage on the cloud?

    Help!!??

To change the iCloud account you have to first delete the existing account from your phone.  Go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  (This will only delete the account from this phone, not from iCloud.  The phone that will be keeping the account will not be effected by this.)  When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data, be sure to select Keep On iPhone.  Next, set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID (if you don't have one, tap Get a Free Apple ID at the bottom).  Then turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On, and when prompted about merging with iCloud, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to the new account.
Finally, if you have any merged data in your accounts, to un-merge the data you will then have to go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete the data you don't want (such as deleting the her contacts from your account, and vice versa).
Also, if you need to change the ID for iMessage, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with the new ID.  If you need to do this for FaceTime, go to Settings>FaceTime and do the same thing.

How do I downgrade to the free 5gigs of iCloud storeage?  I would like a refund and have searched for two hours.  I have NEVER had such a tough time connecting with a company and have certainly spent MUCH MORE than $20. of my time tracking this down... maybe that's the point, huh Apple?  Can anyone help?

To cancel an iCloud storage upgrade within 15 days of buying:
Apple have made this as difficult as possible. If you use Express Lane you cannot proceed without entering a hardware serial number which is still eligible for AppleCare. However julia22 managed to find a way round it - please see this post:
