Only half of a song playing?

I just brought a song of the iTunes store, it downloaded fine but only half of the song plays. It plays up until about 2 minutes and then goes on to the next song...
Why does it do this =/

It might be a bad download. But first thing to check is to click on the song, do a Get Info, then go to the Option tab. Make sure the Start and Stop time boxes are NOT checked, which will play the whole song. If either is checked, the tune will start or stop at the time indicated.

Any idea why only half of every song plays when I download a previously purchased album or song to my iMac?

Does the track play correctly in Quicktime Player?  If it does then it is an iTunes issue.  If it doesn't then it is possible the file was not completely downloaded, or is corrupt.

I purchased an album on iTunes. Only half of the songs will play. What can I do?

    Hi crgcain,
If some of the songs on an album purchased from the iTunes Store are incomplete or won't play, you may want to try deleting them and redownloading the files. You may find the following article helpful:

  • HT1725 I downloaded an album from itunes and only half of the songs have downloaded. The rest of the songs keep trying to download and then come up with an error saying they cannot download at this time. I'm not sure what the issue is.

I downloaded an album from itunes and only half of the songs have downloaded. The rest keep trying to download, but I keep getting a message that says, "Song cannot be downloaded at this time. Do you want to retry or be done." Each time I retry, the same thing happens. They will not download. I have restarted my phone and the same problem remains.

Other people have been having similar problems with songs over a number of days.
Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting it from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that song and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

Try deleting the problematic file (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • When playing music on my iPhone 4 using earphones when out for a run, I select shuffle and only 3 or 4 songs play then the music stops as if I have set only 3 songs to play. How do I correct this??

When I am out for a run using earphone and a running APP I set my iphone 4 to shuffle songs but suddenly only 3-4 or 5-6 songs play and then they stop as if I set something to only play a certain number of songs from my playlist, its really irritating as I have to stop and press shuffle again, it happens with all my playlists and never mid song. This is a sudden issue as before I would just select shuffle and run and the music kept playing until I stopped it. Have I set something in error?? have looked at settings in General and in music and I am not sure what to do? any ideas??

Just realised this happens without earphones and without using the running app. My iphone will only play 2 songs when I select shuffle in any playlist, driving me mad!

  • Problem burning cd-only half the tracks actually play

Please can anyone help-I'm trying to do some cd's for my friends wedding. The CD burn is successful, but only the first 6 tracks play, even though the stereo lists all the track numbers.
    Many thanks, Dionne.

    Hi Rick,
I haven't been on this site for ages and I was wondering why no one answered you! A few questions: what size is the list you are trying to burn? It usually says at the bottom of the screen. What brand and format is the blank CD? Are all the songs checked on the play list that you want to burn? What kind of computer equipment are you using to burn? Usually bought CD's have a very large file format and have to be converted to a different format to fit on your CD, especially with 18 songs. Lemmee know and I can help further.

I have a genre section 'Christmas' with around 130 songs on my classic ipod, but when I set it to play it only plays 10 songs than stops. I have also copied all of the genre to a new playlist 'Xmas' and the same thing happens with the same 10 songs. How can I fix this problem ?

It pains me to hear about your experience with the Home Phone Connect.  This device usually works seamlessly and is a great alternative to a landline phone.  It sounds like we've done our fair share of work on your account here.  I'm going to go ahead and send you a Private Message so that we can access your account and review any open tickets for you.  I look forward to speaking with you.

  • ITunes Match, only half of the song?

    Hey everyone,
So I got iTunes match not too long ago, I did the upload portion of it on my main Desktop WIndows-Based PC. Everything appeared to have worked, and I was able to download everything to my MacBook Air, iPad, and iPhone. Few days later I was driving to work whilist rocking to some Lionel Richie, and the song "Hello" played half-way when the next song came on. As a matter of fact it does this with several songs all all of my devices except my Desktop. So my questions are:
    1. ***?
    2. How do I fix it?
    3. Is there any way of changing the master computer (i.e. the computer which does the syncing) over to my MacBook Air?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
I have the same problem and changing you master computer won't work. I have tried doing it from my mbPro to my mbAir and viceversa and nothing has worked so far. I have also exchanged several e-mails with Apple reps and phone calls as well, and as iTunes Match respects they are clueless so all I've gotten back from them is useless link to forums and posted solutions which do not relate at all with our actual issue. They keep saying that redownloading the files will fix it but it doesn't. I own and iPhone5 and a "new" iPad both running iOS 6. Conversely when I'm using iTunes Match on my mbAir from a newly created library (so no hard copies of the files in the computer, just from the cloud) everything works perfectly, so apparently is a bug in the iOS. I'm really frustrated with this but the fix will have to be provided in a new version release, and they already have a lot in their hands so I'm not very confident it will come any time soon. They might be able to make the fix from the iTunes Match servers but who knows. So patience my friend, that's all that's required from us at this point.
    Sincerely,
    Abdel

  • Only half of a song imports...why?

I am trying to import George Straits second disc of his greatest hits. I have a lot of cds imported. I have enough room on itunes for the whole cd. I just noticed if I click on that song it doesn't play it. It goes back to one of the top ones. The time on it says 789:57. Why won't it import the last song? I think I had it on there on time before and I deleted it for some reason. Would that be why? Someone please help me.

It might be a bad download. But first thing to check is to click on the song, do a Get Info, then go to the Option tab. Make sure the Start and Stop time boxes are NOT checked, which will play the whole song. If either is checked, the tune will start or stop at the time indicated.

  • HT1725 Only half of a song downloaded, how do I fix this?

I bought a song on my computer, and only a minute and 40 seconds downloaded.  After that, iTunes skips to the next song.  How should I handle this without messing things up?

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting the incomplete track from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account (Store > View My Apple ID on iTunes 11) and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that song and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
Some people have had a problem with the 'report a problem' link (it's been taking people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) - if it does that to you then try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page.
