ONS sockets associated with port 6101 in a TIME_WAIT status

Hi Experts,
We have an Oracle RAC 10.2.0.2 installed on RedHat linux 4 update 5 with SAP NW 2004s SR2.
Now we have a typical issue wherein after starting the CRS (specifically after ONS daemon startup) netstat -an reports thousands of sockets associated with 6101 in a TIME_WAIT status as shown below
127.0.0.1.6101 127.0.0.1.55228 49152 0 49152 0 TIME_WAIT
127.0.0.1.6101 127.0.0.1.55229 49152 0 49152 0 TIME_WAIT
127.0.0.1.6101 127.0.0.1.55230 49152 0 49152 0 TIME_WAIT
127.0.0.1.6101 127.0.0.1.55231 49152 0 49152 0 TIME_WAIT
127.0.0.1.6101 127.0.0.1.55232 49152 0 49152 0 TIME_WAIT
This doesn't allow SAP to startup as it also occupies the SAP ports. Only killing the ONS daemon releases this port.
We followed sap note 995013 but in vain. Also applied oracle patch 4518443.
Does anybody have an idea what might be causing this?

Issue resolved. We added an extra parameter in the ons.config file (allowgroup=true).

  • Port event mechanism and full dupex socket -AIO with Completion Port

    Hi,
I just started to port code from Windows OS to Solaris. I need a way to implement something similar to AIO with Completion Port from Windows on Solaris OS. After initial investigation I have discovered port - events API.
    It is quite elegant.
The problem is that I can't figure out if it is possible to use single port to achieve full duplex socketing.
This means is it possible to serve both POLLIN & POLLOUT for given socket ( PORT_SOURCE_FD ) with single port ?
From port_associate man pages it seems that it is not possible to achieve something like that.
"... If the specified object is already
associated with the specified port, the port_associate()
function serves to update the events and user arguments of
    the association. ..."
Does this means that I need to create two separate ports - one for POLLIN events and the other for POLLOUT events in order to be able to achieve full duplex concurrent socket ?
Since I'm quite new in Solaris development I would kindly ask you to give me a hint what would be the best way to implement something similar to Windows Asynchronous IO With Completion Port on Solaris OS.
    Many thanks
    Mirko

    Hi,
Yes, it can't use single port to achieve full duplex socketing, under win32, there have some tools, for example [serial port splitter|http://www.softsea.com/review/Serial-Port-Splitter.html], can allow you to share one serial port among several applications, but Slaris can't support this, and the funcation port_associate() need use two separate ports.

    Hi rmmilleriii,
You should take a look at [https://support.mozilla.org/kb/latest-firefox-issues#os=mac&browser=fx9 this article] that discusses some of the issues with the latest build of Firefox.
There is some information in there that should help you to resolve your issue. Luckily, it is a very easy fix.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • Can a real Server be applied in two different server farms associated with two different VIP IP and TCP Port

    Good day everyone,
I have a question in regard to real server operation with different server farms, and VIPs
Can a Real Server be associated ( for simpliciy) with two different Server Farms that have a VIP associated with each, servicing the same TCP Port (443).
    Example:
    SF-A
    RSRV-1: 192.168.1.10 /24
    RSRV-2: 192.168.1.11 /24
    VIP-A: 192.168.1.20 /24
    VIP-A: https:web-A
    Protocol: HTTPS
    SF-B
    RSRV-2: 192.168.1.11 /24
    RSRV-3: 192.168.1.12 /24
    VIP-B: 192.168.1.30 /24
    VIP-b: https:web-B
    Protocol: HTTPS
    Client-A: 172.16.128.10
    Client-B: 172.16.128.15
I have attached an sketch depicting the connectivity.
As always any feedback/Suggestions will be greatly apprecaited.
    Cheers,
    Raman Azizian

    Raman,
This type of config is no problem. What the server is doing is virtual web hosting. The server would have two different web services running for the same IP, but each listening for a unique host header.
From an IP point of view both connections would be destined to the rserver address on port 80, but in the http header they would have two different Host headers.
one for www.example1.com and the second for www.example2.com. If the web server is configured correct so each host name is tied to one web service it will not have any issues.
The config you attached looks ok. The way you have the sticky group is ok doing source IP. If you use cookies for the sticky group I would suggest you create two sticky groups each with a different cookie name and add the same serverfarm to both groups. The client will only send a cookie for the domain it received it from so using the same cookie in two vips could cause problems if the same client hits both vips.
    Hope that helps
    Regards
    Jim

  • Content of add-ons, except Weatherbug, periodically requiring deletion of all cookies, restart of compute and re-sign in to Google and YahooMail; the links associated with the add-on remain active

The content of my add-ons, except Weatherbug, periodically disappear. I have to delete all cookies, restart compute and re-sign-in to Google and YahooMail. Everything is fine for a while and then the content of the add-ons goes away again. The links associated with the add-on remains at the top of the now content-vacant boxes and still work. This problem appears to have cropped-up after the last Firefox update.

As we cannot login we cannot raise a ticket with billing or anything else for azure.

Please raise a ticket for my as it is impossible for me to do so, the system is broken, the website workflow is flawed.

  • Simulation error : size mismatch in mixed language port association with VIVADO simulator

    Hi,
I have instantiated a VHDL module in  a verilog top file . When I tried to simulate the verilog top , I received the following error .
ERROR : Size mismatch in mixed language port association , vhdl port  vid_data
(Simulation tool : VIVADO simulator . VIVADO ver : 2015.1)
// Following is the instantiation of  VHDL module in verilog top file
    VPS  VPS_inst
         .clk (VPS_clk),
         .reset_n(~user_reset),
         .vid_active_video(data_valid),
         .vid_data(data_to_mem)
The port 'vid_data' is declared in the VHDL module as std_logic_vector (15 downto 0)
    "vid_data   : out std_logic_vector(15 downto 0)"
'data_to_mem' is declared in verilog top file as  "wire  [15:0]   data_to_mem" .
No size mismatch exists actually . But , I am getting the above mentioned error in simulation.
I have searched for similar threads . Nothing was useful .
Does anyone know how to solve this?
    Thanks and Regards
    Raisa

You might also get this error if you mis-spelled "data_to_mem" such that the declaration did not match the instantiation port map.  For example:
wire  [15:0] data__to_mem;  // double underscore before "to"
    VPS  VPS_inst
         .clk (VPS_clk),
         .reset_n(~user_reset),
         .vid_active_video(data_valid),
.vid_data(data_to_mem)  // only one underscore before "to"
In Verilog this is not an error unless you disable automatic net inference.  In this case Verilog is happy to create a single wire for data_to_mem, but then you would be trying to attach a 1-bit wire to a 16-bit port.  That would also be valid in Verilog, but not allowed for connections to VHDL.
I typically avoid this sort of error by placing:
    `default_nettype none
at the top of each Verilog file, and
    `default_nettype wire
at the bottom of each Verilog file.  This prevents the automatic creation of wires when you mis-spell or forget to declare nets.

  • Problem in using socket streams with encryption and decryption

    Hi,
I am developing a client/server program with encryption and decryption at both end. While sending a message from client it should be encrypted and at the receiving end(server) it should be decrypted and vice versa.
But while doing so i got a problem if i use both encryption and decryption at both ends. But If i use only encryption at one (only outputstream) and decryption at other end(only inputstream) there is no problem.
Here is client/server pair of programs in which i am encrypting the outputstream of the socket in client side and decrypting the inputstream of the socket in server side.

Try testing what key is being used. Just to test this out, build a copy of your program and loop the input and outputs together. Have them print the data stream onto the screen or a text file. Compare the 1st Output and the 2nd Output and the 1st Input with the 2nd Input and then do a static test of the chipher with sample data (same data which was outputted), then do another cipher test with the ciphertext created by the first test.
Everything should match - if it does not then follow the steps below.
Case 1: IO Loops do not match
Case 2: IO Loops match, but ciphertext 1st run does not match loop
Case 3: IO Loops match, 1st ciphertext 1st run matches, but 2nd run does not
Case 4: IO Loops match, both chiphertext runs do not match anything
Case 5: Ciphertext runs do not match eachother when decrypted correctly (outside of the test program)
Problems associated with the cases above:
Case 1: Private Key is changing on either side (likely the sender - output channel)
Case 2: Public Key is changing on either side (likely the sender - output channel)
Case 3: Private Key changed on receiver - input channel
Case 4: PKI failure, causing private key and public key mismatch only after a good combination was used
Case 5: Same as Case 4

  • Javascript Socket Obj and Port 21

I'm just trying to open a socket connection to an ftp server
on port 21. I've read that people have had success over flex/flash,
but I haven't been able to connect to port 21 with Javascript and
there are no events or error messages associated with trying.
I'd just like to know if its currently possible.

Yes, you can use the Socket class to connect to an FTP server
    in JavaScript:
    var socket = new air.Socket("ftp.cs.berkeley.edu", 21);
    socket.addEventListener(air.Event.CONNECT, connected);
    socket.addEventListener(air.ProgressEvent.SOCKET_DATA,
    dataHandler);
    socket.addEventListener(air.IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR,
    errorHandler);
    socket.addEventListener(air.SecurityErrorEvent.SECURITY_ERROR,
    securityErrorHandler);

Please click "Mark As Answer" if my post helped. Tony C.
    Hi Tony,
Srry but No.  We just installed the monthly updates.
I went back and found I had missed removing a patch.  I missed the rollup for Windows Server 2003:
    Event Type: Information
    Event Source: NtServicePack
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 4382
    Date:  3/12/2015
    Time:  12:26:04 PM
    User:  NETTEST\admin
    Computer: DATA1
    Description:
Windows Server 2003 KB954920 was removed from your computer, and the previous Windows Server 2003 configuration was restored.
After I removed that is still didn't work but after about five minutes it started working.
I guess I ned to report that to MS after I research what might be changed to make the patch work.
Every time I get stuck and ask for help it seems to be just before I stumble on the solution.
    Thanks for replying.
Well - maybe this will help someone else.
    Thanks again for replying Tony

  • This computer is already associated with an Apple ID

I'm trying to download music I've purchased (in the past) via iTunes into my iMac. The past purchases were made [principally] via my iPad and, as a consequence, the actual music media is resident on my iPad. Since these music purchases, I've purchased an iMac. And, since the purchase of the iMac, I've received an iPod Nano as a gift (Christmas). The iMac is shared between my family members, each with their own Apple-ID and associated account. When I try to download the music I've purchased (in the past) via the "cloud icon" in iTunes, the iTunes store indicates "This computer is already associated with an Apple ID" and I need to wait "90 days" until I can download the rest of my music. So, I cannot download ANY music into the iMac under my personal user account and Apple-ID.
However, the aforementioned problem has disabled downloading music to my recently acquired iPod Nano (a Christmas gift), because the iPad Nano *can only obtain music via iTunes, via an iMac" (the IPod Nano lacks WiFi, so sync'ing can only be achieved via a USB-v2.0 port). So, my options are:
Buy another iMac desktop computer to download music to my iPod,
Wait until my birthday after March 2014 to actually use the iPod Nano I received on Christmas 2013.
Coordinate my iTunes purchases and potential gifts to occur on three (3) month boundaries and ensure that my iMac computer is NOT assoicated to any other Apple ID during this three (3) month period.
If option (3) get violated, implement Option (1) for any Apple device purchase.
Just as an aside, I'm a systems engineer and a software programmer of ~30 years. Honestly, the aforementioned options are the only options I have at this time to load purchased music into my iPod Nano (without hacking into my iMac to modify its MAC address). To me the whole iTunes thing seems a bit impetuous (being naive, unsophisticated, excessive, ridicilous). But maybe I don't understand the DCMA rights, media purchases, and Apple's marketing and sales strategies. But, REALLY?! c'mon Apple! Why not use the customer's Apple-ID *and* MAC address to verify authentication per device? Just using the MAC address would be OK if I were the only user of the *family's* iMac desktop computer. But, then, maybe that's an Apple sales strategy, only one user per iMac desktop computer? f this is the case, I will be visiting my local Apple Store to *DEMAND* a refund for all purchased Apple products (phones, tablets, laptops, desktop computers, and my iPod Nano Christmas gift) and I'm going back to Android, Linux, and Amazon-MP3s.

    Same issue here.
It's not an error. It's a purposeful, arbitrary restriction put in place by content owners to prevent law-abiding citizens from organizing, sharing and using media that they purchased. Never mind that a nefarious pirate can circumvent these restrictions with 17 keystrokes.
It's the equivalent of the TSA: They're very good at finding Grandma Gertrude's nail clippers, but not so good at catching a shoe bomber.
God forbid that my wife has access to a file I downloaded with my iTunes account on a computer associated with my Apple ID. So let's prevent the converse by preventing her from signing in to the same computer using her Apple ID.
    Pretty obscene--and pretty much useless--restriction.

  • How can I get my e-mail address associated with Adobe Digital Editions?

How can I get my e-mail address associated with Adobe Digital Editions?

    gjortega,
Your sidekick may be relaying through a different server. If its on AT&T, it could be using cwmx.com for outgoing. However, cwmx.com only works for AT&T/Cingular EDGE customers. When on Wi-fi it won't allow you to send through it.
Many internet providers, but not all, provide an authenticating SMTP server to use when travelling. If you configured your outgoing server to use the email providers authenticating SMTP server information on a port different from port 25, you will be able to use it on most networks. Some wireless networks filter a wider range of ports, such as some work places.
This article discusses the issue in more detail:

  • Lync 2013 Error - Certificate could not be published in the database associated with User Services Cluster

    Hi Lync gurus,
    I have a weird issue:
Just installed a Lync Standard 2013.
Everything works except I keep getting this error in Log: every 30 minute or so.
    First an Error:  Event 47067
A server did not respond to HTTP request
Server lyncserver.domain.local did not respond to HTTP request PublishCertRequest targeted at
    https://lyncserver.domain.local:444/LiveServer/UserPinService.
Cause: Server might be down or the network path between servers might not be properly configured.
    Resolution:
Please ensure that the server can be connected on the target port using telnet and then re-try.
    Then I get a Warning: Event 47068
    GetAndPublish web service failed.

  • I downloaded Newest mozilla yesterday, adobe updated, and now when I click a YouTube video I get a box saying "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (rtsp) isn't associated with any program." and can't watch any videos?

I downloaded the latest version of Mozilla Firefox yesterday, full and complete, and I am actually using it right now. The only problem I have had is upon clicking any YouTube video, the box pops up saying "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (rtsp) isn't associated with any program." But there are no directions or suggestions on how to address this problem. Ive looked at YouTube add-ons and none of them really seem related. Upon the finish of the new Mozilla, I also was prompted to upgrade the flash player, and did so without any trouble. I am only guessing this is an extension/plug-in problem. I really am quite confused!

  • Socket communication with HTTP server : how to send a form variable ?

    Hi everyone,
I'm trying to program a Socket application that calls a CGI programmed in ASP and sends a variable with some content via the POST HTTP method.
My problem is that I'm unable to retrieve my variable content in the CGI. I don't know what I'm doing wrong when sending my variable. Here are the main steps of my application
    [Client side]
    - Create an URL
    - Open a connection
    - Send header info with variable name and content via POST method
    - Read server response
    [Server side]
    - Request the variable
    - Store its content in a file
Here's the code of my class :
    import java.net.*;
    import java.io.*;
    public class SocketTest{

The file "htm_content.htm" is created but it has this content :
    NO CONTENT RECEIVED
This means the server was unable to retrieve the content of the variable called "htm_content"
REM : the variable is called like this 'cause I intend to use it to send HTML content
Any idea of what I'm doing wrong ?
Thanxs in advance for any help,
    Diego TERCERO

For the POST request you'll only need (with HTTP 1.0)
         String request =      "POST "+ url + " HTTP/1.0\n" +
              "Content-type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded\n" +
              "Content-Length: " + String.valueOf(data.length()) + "\n" +
              "\n" +
              data;
    Note the Content-type header.
