Open an outlook message witth an attachment

Hey!
I'm using forms 6 and try to build a proc for the task of openning an outlook + a message (for 1 or more receivers) , including an attachment file.
note: it should be sent manualy by the user. the task is only to produce a new message + attachment.
i've try to do it with WIN_API_ENVIRONMENT.Read_Registry and win_api_shell.winexec (running mailto) for the message + attachment.
(i'm attached the full syntax bellow).
now , the message oppening task is done propperly , but yet , without the attachment.(it dident work when i try to attach it localy , or through network)
i'm working on db 9i , windows xp.
thanks!
yair
my syntax:
v_explorer_path := WIN_API_ENVIRONMENT.Read_Registry      ('HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App paths\OUTLOOK.EXE', null, TRUE);
win_api_shell.winexec(v_explorer_path||' mailto:'||v_to_mail||' ?cc='||v_cc||' &bcc='||v_bcc||' &subject='||in_subject||' &body='||in_body||' &name='||in_file_name,WIN_API.SW_SHOWMAXIMIZED, TRUE);

Hi,
You can use something like this:
http://www.moyosoft.com/joc/
This is not Open-Source, it might be the case that Apache POI is working on something for Outlook now since Microsoft release the main API calls not too long ago.
You will need the native library, and I assume somehow you can do a WebStart application to run the code in the client machine. Information regarding Java WebStart can be found on http://java.sun.com/javase/technologies/desktop/javawebstart/index.jsp
I did not really investigate other ways of doing this, maybe there are better approaches.
Also, take a look here http://java.sun.com/products/javamail/Third_Party.html
Hope it helps,
Daniel

  • Is there a function to open the outlook mail and to attach certain..

    Hello,
Is there a function to open the outlook mail and to attach certain selected files?

here is a code snippet from one of our programs
      data: out type ole2_object,
            outmail type ole2_object,
            att type ole2_object,
            atts type ole2_object.
          create object out 'Outlook.Application'.
call method of out 'CREATEITEM' = outmail
            exporting
              #1 = 0.
set property of outmail 'SUBJECT' = 'Smartform Output from SAP'.
call method of outmail 'ATTACHMENTS' = atts.
          call method of atts 'ADD'
            exporting
              #1 = p_file.
          call method of outmail 'DISPLAY'.
in our case, we save the data to a local file with the path p_file.
so, we create the attachment on a local drive, at path p_file
    we open outlook
    we create a mail item
    we set the subject
    we add the attachment
and we call disply, to pop the email up for any changes the user wants to make.
in other programs we also use
set property of outmail 'TO' = alvline-prc_email.
to set the TO address of the email
    hope this helps

  • Open certain outlook message

    Hi,
How can I open certain outlook message from SAP ?
What is the message unique id ? SMTP id ?
And how can I view it using an abap report ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Rotem.

    Hi Julio,
Yes. It is possible. Try the below steps.
    1. Add a 'HTML Text' UI element in the form.
    2. Open the property of 'HTML Text'.
    3. Open 'HTML' tab and write the email address which you want to send the mail.
    4. Now deploy the model. When you click on the 'HTML Text', new message Outlook Window will open.
    Hope it helps....

  • JumpOutReturn Function to Outlook Recipient with an Attachment

From inside AW we are wanting to use the
JumpOutReturn Function to open an Outlook message that has a
training evaluation Word document attached and automatically plugs
in the subject of the message and the Send To Address.
We tried adding a calculation with the following script:
    JumpOutReturn ("Outlook.exe", "F:\\Secretary\\Staffdev\\15.88
Authorware Training.doc:). This automatically opened up Outlook and
attached the Word document, but we did not know how to include in
the script the send to address ([email protected]) so that it would
automatically be filled in. We would also like to add the subject
(Online Training Evaluation) to the script. Any help would be
    great.

    This FAQ:

should get you started, if not solve the issue.

    vivebk67,
FYI, I have the same issue.  I converted from MS Office 2010 to Mac Office 2011 by importing .pst files several months ago and I have noticed that many emails, which I originally received in MS 2010 but coverted to Mac 2011, show the paperclip as if there is an attachment.  But when I open the email, the attachment is not there.
At this point I cannot find any pattern as to why some converted emails retained their attachment and other emails appear to have retained their attachment but the attachment is not visible.
I can confirm that there actually is an attachment by opening up MS Office 2010, but that is a huge pain becasue I have to open Parallels to do that.  I have no issues with any attachments received in Mac Office 2011.
I spent an hour opening up a ticket with MS, sent them .pst files with examples and the guy was able to confirm that he could open the attachment in MS, but not Mac.  BUT, of course, I was told that I would not be apprised of any ticket updates and that the only way I would know if the issues was fixed was when I was finally able to view attachments that I was not able to view previously.

    Hi friends,
    I have the same problem.
    Mountain Lion + Office 2011 + Safari 6.1.2 (8537.74.9)
It is not clear to me what is the relation between Safari and this problem.
I have Chrome installed as well and it is set as default browser. Is this involved?
If yes how can I solve the problem?
    Please let me know.
    Many thanks.

Try double clicking your home button then force close the stuck PDF by swiping upward. Once you've done that just click the home button again to exit.

  • Email a link opens entire Outlook exe, not just send a message, how do i change this to only send a message, not open outlook.exe?

When i click on Send a Link from Mozilla, it opens up an entirely new Outlook windows, so if i send two links, i will have two Outlook's open. how do i just make it only open a new message, not the entire Outlook. We are running Windows 8.1 and the newest firefox build, thank you

I actually do not know for sure, but when opening : "3bar" > Preferences/Options > Applications > and search for mail to, if you set it to always ask it does it still open two Outlooks?

  • Can't Open MS Outlook e-mail messages w/ Blazer on a T/X

My company recently upgraded its Microsoft Exchange Server and now I can't open e-mail messages using Blazer on my T/X.  I now get a message saying, "To use Microsoft Outlook web access, browser settings must allow scripts to run."  I am using Palm Blazer v.4.3.

You can enable or disable JavaScript in Blazer in Option > Preferences > General. If it's already enabled, then it could be that the server is testing for certain functionality that Blazer does not support. Since the browser pre-dated the modern era of rich webmail clients, that wouldn't suprise me...

  • How to send mail from adobe interactive form without opening the outlook

    Hello all,
When the end user press the submit button i want it to send the XML data without opening the outlook or other mail application.
Is there a way to do this?
I tried javascript codes to send mail with UI = false but it did not work.
    Thank you all in advance,
    Eran

    mailForm
Parameters: bUI, cTo, [cCc], [cBcc], [cSubject], [cMsgBody]
    Returns: nothing
This method exports the form data and mails the resulting FDF file as an attachment to all recipients,
with or without user interaction depending on the value of  bUI.
If it is set to true then the rest of the parameters are used to seed the compose new message window that is displayed to the user.
If bUI is set to false, the cTo parameter is required and all others are optional.
You must use a semicolon u201C;u201D to separate multiple recipients in cTo, cCc, cBcc parameters.
The length limit for cSubject and cMsgBody is 64k bytes.
    Example:
/* This will pop up the compose new message window */
    this.mailForm(true);
/* This will send out the mail with the attached FDF file to fun1 @ fun . com and fun2 @ fun . com */
    this.mailForm(false, "fun1 @ fun . com; fun2 @ fun . com", "", "", "This is the subject", "This is the body of the mail.");
    Note:
This is a Windows-only feature. In addition, the client machine must have its
default mail program configured to be MAPI enabled in order to use this method.
I had to change the code:
    instead of this.mailDoc :
    var myDoc = event.target;
    myDoc.mailDoc(false, "fun1 @ fun . com; fun2 @ fun . com", "", "", "This is the subject", "This is the body of the mail." );
But the outlook new message window still opens...
    Any Idea's?
    Eran
