Open Audio Stream during Start Up

Open Audio Stream during Start Up
I would like to automatically open an audio stream during start up in OS X Tiger.
Placing an alias for the steam in the Accounts Log In Items of the System Preferences does not seem to work.
Any ideas?

Michael--
You ought to be able to do this with an AppleScript as an Account Login item. Just save the AppleScript as an application:tell application "iTunes"
open location "http://www.server.com/streaming.mp3"
end tellYou'll need the URL for the stream...

  • Open audio stream url too long

I found an internet radio that I wanted to import into itunes using open audio stream, but it has 226 characters in the URL and won't allow me to paste the entire thing. Is there any way around this?

Did not fix, I cleared the cache and cookies.
    The website is picasaweb.google.com
A partial peice of the url looks like this:
    http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/login?continue=http%3A%2F%2Fpicasaweb.google.com%2Flh%2Flogin%3Fcontinue%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fpicasaweb.google.com%252Flh%252Flogin%253Fcontinue%253Dhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fpicasaweb.google.com%25252Flh%25252Flogin%25253Fcontinue%25253Dhttp%2525253A%2525252F%2525252Fpicasaweb.google.com%2525252Flh%2525252Flogin%2525253Fcontinue%2525253Dhttp%252525253A%252525252F%252525252Fpicasaweb.google.com%252525252Fhome%25252526pli%2525253D1%25252526a

  • Can't open audio stream

I have the URL for an online radio, I can open it in Quicktime, but not in iTunes... it appears in the library but it doesn't do anything when clicked:
    http://streaming.metro951.com/metro

Not sure if this is the same problem, but... I'm able to initiate an audio stream from the "Radio" in my iTunes options, but there's a lot of "rebuffering" going on. In the advanced tab, I've set buffering to large. This very rarely happened on my old G5, but on this new-to-me 2007 macbook, it's happening a lot more often. Any clues?

  • New Media Server Install; audio stream stops/starts constantly

We stream a weekly radio show and even just testing with no listeners and there is no server load, our stream stops and starts continuously. It seems like a buffering issue but we're not sure where to start looking. It happens from many different locations geographically.
I'll be happy to offer details if anyone has some advice.
We are streaming our first live show with this new stream setup from http://www.pulpmx.com/pulpmx-show at 9PM PST tonight. We are actually just running some music right now as we try to troubleshoot what is happening.
    Thanks

Well let me start by clarifying, we have a server setup with 2 cPanel accounts, one of which is a standard http site, the other has its own dedicated IP and domain which we use solely for our streaming server installation.
We were using the http protocol earlier for streaming when we were having troubles; we have since switched it to rtmp and the issues went away. This is problematic though because we cant load the rtmp stream into iOS clients (including our App).
So, we're pretty sure the issue was a conflict of sharing the same hardware for a true http website delivery and also an http streaming delivery. Would you agree and is there a way to make this all work together in harmony?
    Thanks.

  • Get audio stream during phone call?

Im just wondering if anyone knows if i can stream the audio of a telephone call in realtime foe use in my app. I want to clarify that i only wish to get the sound data from the microphone of the app user and not the other user on the other end of the call (for privacy reasons of course). Thanks in advance

Guys, my daughter in Norman at OU has had problems all day. Phone shows 3G connection and full strength on bars but slow texting, dropped calls and sometime even unable to call out. Rebooted phone twice with no luck.
Strange its Oklahoma. Several have made appts to genius bar. Tried to make on in OKC at Penn Square around her classes but could not. Only a few available next week on Tues and Weds. They seem pretty booked up - I bet with the same problems.
I suspect this is an AT&T issue, but if anyone gets back from the Genius Bar with answers or ideas, please post them here so we can all learn. Thanks!

  • Synchronization of Multiple Audio Streams

    Hi,
I'm trying to synchronize several Audio streams during
playback and recording. Several questions I have and not sure if
actually feasible or how to best address :
1/ When playing back 2 audio streams, how can I ensure the
playback is full synchronized (<20ms difference) when client
receives the 2 streams in playback ? Basically trying to simulate a
mix-down with 2 // streaming. Ultimately wants to achieve this with
about 5 audio streams playing back and can't accept tolerate delay.
I suspect I need to synchronize the start of each stream so that
they all start together, but not been very succesfull so far.
Alternatively is there a way to mix-down 2 streams on server and
    send back a 1 mixed-down audio stream ?
2/ More tricky I believe : If I playback 1 audio stream and
start recording a separate audio stream, I'm getting again
desynchronised. Later If I replay the 1 audio and the newly
recorded one, both are not anymore aligned. I suspect (but not sure
that the delay and desynchronization is introduced during the
recording but not sure and reason I asked first question...
If someone knows those answers or could provide some
direction of work.... I would greatly appreciate.
    Thanks

When it comes to FMS streams, there really is no way of
accurately syncronizing streams. Since you can't keep data in
buffer when pausing the stream, and you have to rebuffer any time
    you seek, it's impossible.
The only way I've been able to sync flv's is using
progressive download. With progressive, you can sync streams, but
the accuracy is limited to the keyframe interval of the flv files.
For example, if you have 2 keyframes per second, you can achieve
sync with 1 second accuracy. with 4 keyframes per second, you can
get the offset down to 500ms. If you make every frame a keyframe
(makes for a huge file), you can get frame accurate sync.
The theory is to build a class that monitors the time and
buffer length properties of your two streams, pausing and/or
seeking when needed to maintain sync.

  • Saving an Audio Stream

Hi, I'm able to listen to an audio stream using Advanced > Open Audio Stream... ,
but how can I keep that audio stream. Ideally I'd like to associate a name with the URL and add it to the library, under LIBRARY > Radio.

Firstly, click on the '+' sign at bottom left to create a new playlist. Call it something convenient.
Now in menu 'Advanced'>'Open audio stream' enter your streaming URL and get it running.
No control-click on the display panel in the centre of the toolbar. Choose 'Add to playlist' and select your new playlist. Now you can play the station at any time from there.

  • Itunes 12 on Windows 7, how to open an audio stream

    Hello,
I'm trying to open an audio stream on Windows 7 / Itunes 12, and I am not able to find the File->Open stream function (does it exist in Windows?), nor to copy paste a webradio to a playlist and edit its url.
    Anyone able to help?
    Thanks

See AutoRuns for a tool that should give you full control over what runs at start up.
I've seen hints that some Bluetooth controller software may be responsible for firing iTunes. If your keyboard has media control keys the whatever driver services that could also be responsible.
Suffice it to say iTunes doesn't install as a start-up item so whatever is triggering it is some local configuration issue rather iTunes itself.
If you have iOS devices that are set to sync wirelessly, and iTunes is set to launch when they are connected, it is just conceivable that simply having the iOS devices active when you reboot would be enough to launch iTunes, but I don't think that is the case.

  • Final Cut Pro 5 Aborts During Start Up at Audio Filters

Final Cut Pro 5.04 aborts during start up at audio filters. Immediately following:
    Loading Audio Filters...
    Apple: AUNetSend
A pop up appears with the following:
File Error: A file of this name already exists.
    So far I have
    1) trashed all FCP related preferences
    2) reinstalled FCP 5
    3) removed [boot/system drive]/Library/Application Support/Final Cut Pro System Support folder.
Any problem solvers willing to take a stab at this one?

I opened up FCP in another user's account and it didn't abort during start-up. Retruned to my account and FCP opened without error.

  • Bluetooth Audio Streaming Not Working - Posts Started Many Months Ago, No Solution Provided

    Hello!
I would like to join the group of those who experience re-connecting issues of Audio Streaming Bluetooth function. I have reviewed posts on several forums and I see the issue is not resolved. Just for back up - neither manual nor automatic (other than re-booting the phone each time) re-connection works with: two Mercedes-Benz cars, Alpine stereo, Sony stereo and Blackberry Music Gate device.
It did work before upgrade to 10.2.1.3247 for Q10.
It does work with my old 9700.
It does work with my wife's and doughter's iPhones.
It does not work with the state-of-the-art Q10.
I think it is both annoying and should be embarrasing for BB. I see the posts showing up for many months now and no solution is provided yet. This is very basic functionality. I, actually, regret I bought Q10.
Any chance BB would fix it?
Is there anything new I missed?
    Pawel

    Well, good to hear.
For me the problems started with the latest updates...
I switched on another Q10 that I pulled out from the drawer, but did not allow updates. Everything works properly. But I cannot use many functionalities, including BlackBerry World as it asks for the OS update.
    So the issue stays...

windows while in the office.. I do have admin rights to my machine.
I'm getting error.. Error encountered while copying audio
Stream when creating a new project.. I get through my recording..
and when i "end" the recording it thinks and thinks and then gives
    me this error.
Please advise on what I can do to fix.

    I just attempted this fix..
Close Captivate 4 if it is open.
    Download the file kept at
    https://share.acrobat.com/adc/document.do?docid=a14e1bd9-dc10-4456-9cd2-44489809b78e
Go to your Captivate 4 install folder (ex: C:\Program
    Files\Adobe\Adobe Cativate 4)
Rename nsaudio.dll as nsaudio.dll.bak or anything which
    doesn't have a dll extension
Copy the file from step 2 to Captivate 4 install folder
    rename it as nsaudio.dll
    Start Captivate 4
On Cap 3 to try.. and it didn't work either! Don't know if
the NSAudio.dll is different for Cap 4 however!

  • Unable to Listen to Audio Streams

I finally got my iMac yesterday.98% of my use for the computer deals with being able to tune into audio streams over the internet and download them later to an mp3 player.
I`ve downloaded Firefox and the Flip4Mac thing.I then proceed to the webpage that has the link of the player for the audio stream I want to listen to and download. When I click on the link, the player opens and shows, but it does not play or stream the content.
Could someone walk me thru the steps?
My desktop is littered with files I`ve downloaded trying to get the player to work in Firefox.
Another thing is, I also went to the Microsoft site to get the Flip4Mac software.
I`ve got something called the "Windows Media Installer Bin"
When I click on it,it installs a trial version of Microsoft Office 2004,and opens a file viewer in for Excel, where the plug in is supposed to open but instead it just shows a bunch of gibberish and, well, this experience is turning into a nigtmare of something that I used to take for granted before in the PC world.

OK,got it.Someone somewhere posted that I must download the StuffIt expander in order to get the files installed.
All this time, the computer seemed to open the files,no sweat. But this time, using the StuffIt expander,I saw an icon on my desktop that looked like something really downloaded right. It was the windows Media Player installer complete with it`s downwards arrow icon.I clicked that and the launched Firefox again. This time, the player for the station I was attempting to listen to, displayed and started to stream correctly.
I then went to iRecord Music to schedule the recording of a show.Hopefully it will come out allright.
