Open Hub - variables in selection criteria

Hi there Experts
I would like to be able to use a variable in selesction criteria in DTP fro Open hub.
To only extract previous month. Is it possible to do this in the GUI of Open Hub.
If not, any smart workaraounds?

I am not using FISCPER, but posting date, so fiscvar should not be necessary.
But is it possible to use a variable like in BEX queries. Like 0DAT or some Zvariable.
In general OLAP variable in DTP.

Order of Variables in selection criteria involving multiple queries

Hello,
I've a query Q1 which has one of it's variables defined with replacement qry Q2. The query Q2 has a variable defined with replacement qry Q3. When i put qry Q1 in a application designer template and run the report, The selection criteria has the variables in the order of Q3, Q1 instead of Q1, Q3.
How can i control this order of variables appearing in sel criteria.
(i've observed that if there are 2 queries in the report the order is correct i.e Q1, Q2).
The second problem is, in the report i've added a
'Text Element' object. In the webitem tab, for property
'List of Text Elements', i've added all the variables
of the Query, The variable of qry Q1 are populated in the report output, but the variable of qry Q3 are not, How do i display this variable.
For the variables where no criteria is given, the report shows the text as 'Empty Demarcation'. How can this be made blank.

For removing the Empty Demarcation, in SE38 > SAPLRRSV > look at Text Element 301 and blank it out.

Open Hub Destination with Application Server Issue

Hi all,
I have requriment that i need to save my monthly data in application server with the help of OPen Hub Destination.I have created an DSO
on that DSO i have created an Open HUb with application server as target.When i store my every month file in application server that file name should be a per the system date.
So i have Created an LOgical File----ztest_data
Assgined Physical path to Logical File-----/usr/sap/<sysid>........
created an Logical File name------Ztest_data_file....
IN the open HUb i have selected Aplication Server as My target and i have checked the box.
I have selected Logical FIle name and given the file name which i have created-----ztest_data_file...
Runned DTP it is showing no errors,but when i check in AL11 ,in the path which i have given(/usr/sap/<sysyid>........,i couldnt find the file.....
Please check this and let me know...

Also is your DTP full or delta. Try running the DTP as Full.

Open hub Table deletions

Hi all,
I am using an open hub and out put as DB . for delta load form DSO in open hub level i selected technical key so it will maintain the entire history of delta changes but for performance reason i should delete the DB after some time .
note:
I don't want to select the option deletion data from the table

HI,
Deleteing Data in Tables depends on your requirements, generally there are options i.e. Append or Overwrite data, or Delete.
For reference keep data in Tables after some time/days/weeks you can delete the data in tables using some ABAP code. So you write simple code to delete the data in that Table and execute that program whenever you want to delete the Data in Tables.

i am creating Open Hub to download selected data from the CUBE to load in to another Planning tool using CSV.
here i have few question before i start working on this.
if i use open hub do i have flexibility to select the data need from the cube.
like if i want to select only one version for few months is this possible? if so can you let me know how?

Data selection in new Open Hub destination Vs Infospoke

In BW 3.5, we can use T code RSBO to create Infospoke, In the selection tab, we can use any infoobject in the source infocube as the data filterfor the infoSpoke, e.g I can set company code as 1002 etc, while in the new BI 7.0, Open Hub Destination, where I can achieve the same by set the filter for a specific infoobject in the source cude?

For Open Hub in BI7 we are creating transformation and DTP. The same resrtiction you can give in DTP (activate it after change).

Variable selection criteria in the record selection

Variable selection criteria in the record selection with Crystal Report with SQL 2005 Server tables.
In the record selection I would like to use the value of the field u201CsSQL1u201D as part of the selection criteria instead the field name {tblReportAccessAutority.sSQL1}
The value of the field {tblReportAccessAutority.sSQL1} is {tblSalesReporting.sJEDivisionCode} = 'I'
I tried with formulas, SQL expressions, but nothing works.
Record selection of the report:
{tblReportAccessAutority.sUserID} = CurrentCEUserName
and {tblSalesReporting.sLegalEntity} = {?Legal Entity}
and {tblSalesReporting.sJEPeriod} = {?PARAM_PERIOD}
and {tblSalesReporting.sIG3rd} = {?PARAM_IG3RD}
and {tblReportAccessAutority.sSQL1} <---this is the problem line
The field {tblReportAccessAutority.sSQL1} is not converted in the value:
{tblSalesReporting.sJEDivisionCode} = 'I'
The tables tblSalesReporting and tblReportAccessAutority are joined in this report.

The expression fir the formula {@sSQL_Condition} is:
TOTEXT({tblReportAccessAutority.sSQL1})
The field definition for {tblReportAccessAutority.sSQL1} is nvarchar(50).

WAD - How to create the variables to have the selection criteria

Hi all,
I am trying to display a BW Statistics query in 'Chart' with Web Application Designer (WAD). I want to have the selection criteria with variable USER ID ('ABC123'), Info Cube ('Z_FIGL_C01') and Time Period '01/01/2005' to '12/31/2005'. How can I have this selection criteria in Web Application Designer, PLEASE ?.

Yes, It's possible.
I think in the menu options.. there tools--> create Table(it's not Table Web Item web item). May be similar option. we need to create the Table. Right now i don't have the system. you need to keep the 2 Drop Down Boxes in the Table(in the 2 coloumns).

Attribute variable in a selection criteria

Hello Experts,
I have an attribute '***' under infoobject 'patient id'. I wanted to create a variable on '***' and use it in the selection criteria on a query. I need to get only two options i.e F(emale) or
M(ale) but I get all the options of 'patient id'. Is it possible to create variables on attributes and use them as the selection criteria? It would be great if someone could refresh me.

anjali I created a simmilar senario in my system. It works fine with me. I have following conditions
1) maitained masterdata for this *** infoobject
2) maitained *** as a navigational attribute in patient attributes and activated the patient
3) maintained the *** attribute as a navigation attribute in ods object
4) created a query which display my data based on ***
5)created a variable with userentry opetion with no default values.
6)activted master data once again after this step
I ods object i added the person(patient) in my data part and the *** attribute in navigational attribute section is displayed as ZIOPERS_ZGENDER and ticked as navigational attribute.
finally it is working with my system. it is displaying only F and M values in variale entry scrren help. try closing the Bex and then restarting it.

Filtering data in Open Hub

In the info-spoke definition, is there a way to make filter values dynamic in the 'Selection' tab. For example, we have an info-spoke that we extract data to monthly - by fiscal period. Since the Production instance is a closed system, we cannot change the filter value directly in Production, but would have to change it in Development and transport it up to Production. I have read in some SAP documentation that there is a plan to have variables available as selection criteria but it was not mentioned when this would be available. Thank you for your help.

   Why you want to change the selections.... why cant you use delta...?
   If you want to do selection accourding to ur fiscal year create a BADI and create a variables from system data. and restrict according to ur selection.

Open Hub: How-to doc "How to Extract data with Open Hub to a Logical File"

Hi all,
We are using open hub to download transaction files from infocubes to application server, and would like to have filename which is dynamic based period and year, i.e. period and year of the transaction data to be downloaded.
I understand we could use logical file for this purpose. However we are not sure how to have the period and year to be dynamically derived in filename.
I have read in sdn a number of posted messages on a similar topic and many have suggested a 'How-to' paper titled "How to Extract data with Open Hub to a Logical Filename". However i could not seem to be able to get document from the link given.
Just wonder if anyone has the correct or latest link to the document, or would appreciate if you could share the document with all in sdn if you have a copy.

After creating open hub press F1 in Application server file name text box from the help window there u Click on Maintain 'Client independent file names and file paths' then u will be taken to the Implementation guide screen > click on Cross client maintanance of file name > create a logical file path by clicking on new entiries > after creating logical file path now go to Logical file name definition there give your Logical file , name , physical file (ur file name followed by month or year what ever is applicable (press f1 for more info)) , data format (ASC) , application area (BW) and logical path (choose from F4 selection which u have created first), now goto Assignment of physical path to logical path > give syntax group >physical path is the path u gave at logical file name definition.
however we have created a logical path file name to identify the file by sys date but ur requirement seems to be of dynamic date of tranaction data...may u can achieve this by creating a variable. U can see the help from F1 that would be of much help to u. All the above steps i have explained will help u create a dynamic logical file.

How to add into dynamic selection criteria (FBL1N) - custom field from LFB1

Hello all,
i have following problem. I added new customer field into table LFB1 (Z* field). And now i need to use this field as dynamic selection criteria in transaction FBL1N. I enhanced selection view for logical database KDF - i have created new customer view and I added my new field from LFB1. It is OK, i see this field in dynamic selection criteria in FBL1N but if i try to select according that Z* field, short dump occured.

thanks so far. I managed to show prompts in the report. But still my problem is nor 100% solved
I would like t achieve that the filtered criteria in the report title is separated through a comma like in the report filter summary - e.g.: {001, 002, 003, 004} followed by just 1chart/table that is including the whole information.
When I however just drag a variable into the report it automatically created different sections, right? Like ........ table, chart, whatever... .......table chart whatever........

Open Hub Vs Infospoke

In BW 7 We are using Open Hub & previously using Infospoke in BW 3.5. My question is in infospoke we have the flexibility of using BADI but in Open Hub we dont have that option. can we still use infospoke instead of Open HUB. Are there any advantages of open hub over infospoke.

Hi,
The open hub service enables you to distribute data from an SAP BW system into external data marts, analytical applications, and other applications. With this, you can ensure controlled distribution using several systems. The central object for the export of data is the InfoSpoke. Using this, you can define the object from which the data comes and into which target it is transferred.
Through the open hub service, SAP BW becomes a hub of an enterprise data warehouse. The distribution of data becomes clear through central monitoring from the distribution status in the BW system.
Functions
BW objects such as InfoCubes, ODS objects, or InfoObjects (attributes or texts) can act as open hub data sources. You can select database tables or flat files as open hub destinations. Both a full and a delta mode are also available as the extraction mode.
Components of the Open Hub Service
The open hub service is made up of the following objects:
InfoSpoke
The central object for the data export is the InfoSpoke.
The InfoSpoke defines the following:
u2022 The open hub data source from which the data is extracted
u2022 The extraction mode
u2022 The open hub destination into which the data is delivered.
In addition, you can also select which data selection is to be extracted from which InfoProviders. This selection ensures that a destination for different points in time from the same InfoProvider can be supplied with data for different selection criteria using a delta. The selection set is freely configurable as long as extraction has not taken place in the delta mode. Once it has, this no longer applies.
Open Hub Data Source
BW objects such as InfoCubes, ODS objects, MultiProviders and MultiProviders and InfoObjects (attributes or texts) can function as open hub data sources. If you use an InfoCube with non-cumulative key figures as a data source, refer to the note regarding the settings on the Selection tab page in Creating InfoSpokes.
Extraction Mode
An InfoSpoke can extract data in two ways: in full mode (F) and in delta mode (D). See InfoSpoke Extraction Mode.
Open Hub Destination
Database tables (from the database in the BW system) and flat files (CSV) can act as open hub destinations. See also Extraction to Database Tables and Extraction to Flat Files. You can extract the data from a database to a non-SAP system using APIs with a third-party tool. See also Extraction to Non-SAP Systems.
The open hub destination includes all information about a target system for the InfoProvider data: type of destination, name of the flat file or the database table. It also contains a logical target system. The logical target system is used to structure the individual open hub destinations in the open hub monitor. The open hub monitor groups the requests according to logical target system, open hub destination and InfoSpoke. By specifying a logical target system, you get a better overview of the individual open hub requests.

Hi,
The open hub destination is the object that allows you to distribute data from a BI system to non-SAP data marts, analytical applications, and other applications. It ensures controlled distribution across multiple systems.
The open hub destination defines the target to which the data is transferred.
An InfoSpoke can extract data in two ways:
1.Full mode (F): the data corresponding to the selection criteria of the InfoSpoke is transferred from the data source into the respective destination.
2.Delta mode (D): records that were added since the last extraction only are transferred in this mode. This is only possible for the source objects InfoCube and DataStore object.
