Open Report From a Command Button - Script Instruction

I want to open a report from a dashboard via a command button.
What would be the script to do that?
Also, how would I get back to the dashboard from the report once it's opened?

Console.Writeln("cmdRpt")
ActiveDocument.Sections["Report"].Activate()
The code above is for a command button with the script to navigate to a particular "report".
To navigate back to Dashboard, simply select the dropdown menu below the menu icons.
Good luck.

    Hi All,
How to start Oracle Forms and Reports in Oracle8i My OS is Windows 2000.Please tell the procedure to get into forms and reports.
Otherwise we have to install other software for Forms and Reports.
    Thanks
    Sujan

    Sujan,
what does the database have to do with starting Forms and Reports ? If you are on Wondows2000 then navigate to the \bin directory if the Oracle Home you installed Oracle9iDS to. Type ifbld90 for Forms and rwbuilder for Reports design environment.
If your ability to start Forms and Reports from the command line is your only exit criteria in evaluating software for a project , how far will you go with it?

  • Few Users are unable to open reports from workspace

    Hi ,
Few users are nt able to open reports from workspace. Can anyone let em know what all privalleges we need to give for the users who want to open reports.
    Thanks in Advance

In general if a user can see a report and cannot open, this should be related with the application security that the reports' grid is connecting.
If opening request from users are failing with an error, please paste the error here,
Sometimes reports may be open with blank pages or no data, make sure users have necessary access to data...easy way to check this, connect to application and try to retrieve data from application, Lets say your report grid is connecting to Essbase, try if you can retrieve same grid from essbase excel add-in.
    Good Luck,
    Ahmet

  • Error while running the Discoverer report from the command line.

    Hi All,
I've to run a discoverer report from command line and export the results in xls/html on to my local machine. This report I've to run it as batch and scheduled it.
I have a parameterized worksheet and this has to be run from command line specifying the parameter value I wanted to run the report for. I do not get any results. Here is the command line I am using.
    dis51usr /connect user/password@database /opendb "TIMS-PCJ status Report" /sheet "TIMS observation status report (based on performed date)" /parameter "Test Number" '40351' /parameter "From Date" '05-MAY-2008' /parameter "To Date" '06-MAY-2008' /export HTML "C:\DISCOVERER_REPORT_SCHEDULING\DIS_OUTPUT\PCJStOutputinHTML123"
I even added the TO_DATE conversion for the parameters and also gave the format of the date as 'DD_MON_YYYY'.
Discoverer Desktop opened up, logged in and gets terminated saying 'Oracle Discoverer Desktop has encountered a problem and need to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.'
    Please anyone reply me.
    Regards & Thanks,
    P. Gayathri Devi

    Hi Gayathri,
Try changing your parameter names to be a single word. (Change "Test Number" to Test_Number).
Does the report run fine when run through Desktop for the same parameter values? Which version of Discoverer are you using?
    Thanks.

Please let me know the workaround on this.

    Hi,
I have the rdf at the location at a particular unix server ( 10.10.10.10 say) at /abc/efg/OPENFORM.rdf

How do I put this in we.show_document ?

  • FinRep 9.3.1: All users getting error opening reports from root directory

We are having an irritating, although not missiion critical error
When a user (any user) attempts to open a report from the explorer view in Financial Reporting 9.3.1, we receive an "_Error 1000165"._ No explanation is provided. No folders are openable within the explorer view except "Personal Page."
It is possible to open reports by opening a report that got accidentally stored in the root directory and then opening another report from the menu system in the usual way. So it is not a user permissions/provisioning issue.
Is there a fix to this? I am afraid someone will clean out the root directory and then we won't be able to access our reports.
Update: I can use the pattern "VariancePercent([B(A)],[A(A)])" to cut this to 27 Columns by varying the direct reference to the column. But is there an easier way to do this?

We have been able to complete the update of our users SSID's in our Planning SQL tables through the utility. We had to create the users in Essbase first though.
However, if I try to log into Planning (through Workspace) I still cannot see the Planning applicaitons I should have access too. In Shared Services if I pull up my network ID and View Report, I do not get any Planning groups to show up that I belong too. I can open the group in HSS and see my ID is in it but when I do the View Report on my ID nothing comes up.
Additionally, if I add a user from scratch to the existing Planning groups that we've migrated and do the View Report they will show up for that user and the security passes through to Planning/Essbase so that I could log on fine. So, the problem is not with adding new users but the existing one's that were migrated. HSS shows the users in the groups but if you view a Report for those users it doesn't look like you belong to any groups.
We are going to apply a patch to Shared Services to see if it helps. It's suppose to deal with Groups that have users from multple domains but one set of those users cannot log into the application they should have access too. We applied this in our stand-alone S9 Essbase environment a couple of months ago to deal with a break between our existing users and groups from HSS to Essbase. Maybe this will be the final piece.

  • Creating Rpt Conmgr Cache File In Temp folder while opening report from app

    hi frends,
I m facing one problem with my Web based erp application which is developed in .net ,
in my application when i open the  report from my applicaiton , in my temp folder there one file gets created name is "rpt conmgr cache"
bcoz of this for few records also my report takes too much time and opens very slow and it takes long time, and it happens in some of the reports only , other reports are working cool and its not creating any file in temp folder,,,
so can u guide me whats this file and what can be the solution for it,
    Thanks
    Mithun

I have never heard of "rpt conmgr cache" being created in any temp directory. Is that the actual name of the file you are seeing?
As you have not applied any updates, I'd recommend applying SP 4 to your development system. SP 4 is here:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100006255422008E/crxir2_sp4_inc.exe
Next, I'd recommend getting the SP 4 runtime on the client. You have two options; MSI file of create your own deployment sing the msm files. The MSI file is here:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100009657852008E/crxir2sp4_net_si.zip
    MSM is here:
    http://resources.businessobjects.com/support/communityCS/FilesAndUpdates/crxir2sp4_net_merge_modules.zip
Also, I don't think I still have a good handle on this:
"my report takes too much time and opens very slow and it takes long time"
What is long time? Two seconds, two minutes, etc.?

  • Open report from Enterprise Repository

    Post Author: bbazian
    CA Forum: General
When I try to open a report from my Enterprise repository that is on the CR server I can only see reports from A - E and the file name field is greyed out.  How can I see all the reports in the repository?  I do not have this issue if I try to open from a network share.
    Thanks

The help document you reference is for the Report Application Server SDK; this is no longer available as a standalone SDK (unless you have an OEM Partner Agreement.)  It is now only available as part of the managed enterprise products, such as Crystal Reports Server, BusinessObjects Edge or BusinessObjects Enterprise.
Unless I am missing part of the story, it seems you don't have the products you need to do what you want to do.  Crystal Reports 2008 does not contain any runtime Java SDK's.
If you want to deploy a Crystal Reports java application that is free, check out [Crystal Reports for Eclipse|SAP BI SDK].  If you want something to deploy on IIS, check out the [Crystal Reports for .NET|SAP BI SDK].

  • ADF JSF 10.13 how do you reference a binding from a command button?

I have developed the following code as a model as I am trying to utilise ADF JSF without using a database.
I have a collection called School. This has the appropriate operations that populate the school with a number of Child. A Child simply has a firstname and a surname.
I have generated data controls for these collections and created two JSP pages and added a navigation link as follows:
    index.jsp --> goToSchool (navigation) --> school.jsp
I have then added a command button to the index.jsp page. When the button is then pressed the school.jsp page is displayed. This works correctly.
I would like to override the action of the button though so that before the navigation is executed I can get a handle on the school collection and populate it so that it will be displayed on the school.jsp page.
I have previously done this in 10.12 when I had the following setup:
    index.jsp --> getSchool (dataAction) --> school.jsp
    by overriding the getSchool dataAction.
I have looked through the 10.13 ADF user guides and tried various different things but have not managed to successfully acheive my goal of populating the school collection when the button is pressed prior to navigating to the school.jsp page.
I would appreciate it if you could offer any advice, and if possible let me know the recommended best practices to acheive this.
Thanks in advance for your help
    David

  • Can Connect but Not Open Reports from BusinessObjects Enterprise

I have a new installation of Crystal 2008.  I can logon to the Respository Explorer, but when I try to access a report, I receive the folllowing message:
    ================================================================
The report could not be opened from BusinessObjects Enterprise.
Possibly the report is on a different BusinessObjects Enterprise system than the one you are currently logged onto.  If this problem persists, please contact your admistrator.
    ================================================================
The server administrator has tried his profile and gets the same message
I installed CR2008 on a different PC and can access without problems
I had Crystal XIR2 installed and uninstalled it prior to CR2008
I also had Crystal Beta for VS2020 that I uniinstalled prior to installing CR2008.
I've tried suspending my virus protection and firewall
It doesn't seem to be a secuity issue, but something is blocking access.  I assumed the problem would go away after uninstalling the other versions of crystal and running a registry cleaner, but I still have the same problem.
    Any Suggestions??

    Hi,
One of the probable causes of this error message is when the Input File Repository Server (FRS) is stopped, disabled, or is not accessible over the network.
In addition to what Philip has recommended, i would suggest you to first verify if your IFRS server is started and enabled. Also, kindly perform the port binding for the IFRS server by:
    1. Login to CMC with an Administrator account.
    2. Navigate to Servers >> Input File Repository Server >> Properties
    3. Check the Request Port button and assign a port number.
    4. Also assign the IP Address of the Server in IP Address radio button.
    5. Restart the server and test the issue.
I hope it works for you.

  • Report with the command button

    Hi folks,
i had got a set of selection screen in my report to populate the data to a Transparent Table, before saving the record we need to display the exact record to the user for conformation.
how we archive this one with the normal report.
    Reg,
    Hariharan

    Hi Hariharan,
    Check the logic below.
Create a PF status with a push button in the tool bar(SAVE).
Just WRITE the below statement and double click on 123 it will ask for GUI status creation.
    SET PF-STATUS '123'.
Press yes. Now In Application tool bar option press + sign it will show u like items 1-7 items 8-14... Give ur text in any one. It will create a push button.
Now display ur report out put. When the user press save now it will ask for saving to data base or not? If the user press yes then it will update else it will not. Just copy paste this code in a sample programu will understand.
    SET PF-STATUS '123'.
    DATA: l_answer TYPE c.
    WRITE 'text'.
    AT USER-COMMAND.
CHECK sy-ucomm EQ 'SAVE_TO'. "This is the name given in PF status.

I am going to burn a projector to a CD with a folder

The above posts have given the best way to open a PDF. It
uses the Buddy API Xtra to open a file with the
program to which its associated. Buddy API Xtra can be used
free if you use limited functions. So, you can use
the baOpenFile without needing to buy the full version of the
Xtra. The Xtra is available from:
