Opening a report designed in Report 10g in Excel format

I have passed the desformat parameter as spreadsheet but still i find unnecessary blank cells between columns and rows.
The report is created in Report Builder 10g manually without using the Report wizard.
I have tried to remove all the spaces between the fields. (even by using zoom) but still the same problem.
Can anyone suggest regarding this.

When an Excel file is corrupted, then you can try several methods to recover it:
1. First of all, you can try to repair the file manually in Excel, as follows:

Font issue between Reports Designer and Report Output

Hi.
I've succesfully migrated several reports from 6i to 10g (10.1.2.0.2) with and without parameter form. However, I have the following font issue:
- When report is run from Reports Designer, font is kept.
- When report is run from a forms module (through rwserver on the same machine, that is not really from an application server, but using Oracle BC4J or Developer Suite enviroment) the report output is different. In this case a bigger font is displayed and occasional truncation happens for some fields.
The question is: How can i avoid this difference in font behaviour?. Is it font.ali related?. How come this happen on the same machine(Windows XP)? These reports are to be deployed on Linux, where reasonably, and font machine is expected to happen.

this might be an issue with the printer that is associated also, and the permissions to the printer that you might have..
login to the application server machine and restart the reports server as an admin..try running the reports via the URL..i have a feeling that this issue might be somethiing to do with the permission(s) to the printer from your AS machine

Dynamic Report Design - Adhoc Report

I have a requirement like designing dynamic report in the web.
User can be able to edit the report which I am showing in the browser.
He will pull few extra columns from the table which i used in the report.
How is this possible.

SSRS Drillthrough Reports functionality not working in exported Excel format

Hi All,
Recently I have made a drillthrough report in SSRS 2008R2,Its working fine only in MSBI run mode and preview mode of report designer.Going from main report to sub report and any other report through drillthrough report its work fine.
When I export these report to excel
drillthrough is not working,Only showing main report in excel there is no link showing in excel report as showing in preview mode of report
Please help me out for the same.

Based on my research, just as AntoonVansina said, drillthrogh links still be supported in SSRS 2008R2 when exporting the report in excel. Drillthrough links that appear in text boxes are rendered as Excel hyperlinks in the cell in which the text is rendered.
When clicked, the drillthrough link opens the client’s default browser and navigates to the HTML view of the target.
However, Drillthrough links are not supported in PDF rendering. The drillthrough links are not rendered as clickable links and drillthrough reports cannot connect to the target of the drillthrough.
So could you please post more details about how did you create the drillthough links, are you use Go To Report or Go To URL? What’s the expression for Go To URL and did you get some error message when you click the URL in Excel?

I am not sure whether I understood your question correctly.
While defiing the web template, make the report that you created in the report designer, as data provider. With that, the template read data from the report that you assign in the template when the template is called in the URL.

Report Designer - Layout height and width

Hi Experts,
Is there an option to adjust the report designer layout height and width? I am able to adjust the individual row and column height. I have a report designed in report designer which will have only 5 rows. when I execute this web template the report item is displayed in one entire page instead of only 5 rows.
How can I control/adjust the page size in report designer? Is this possible?

Gnana,
are you starting the report from the portal directly, or do you have it embedded into a web template? As the Report is a web item, you can set the size of the item.
At first I was considering posting the reports directly to the portal, but there are some things that I don't like with how it handles them - for example if you have a report based on the query view, when you post it directly to the portal it will execute it with the saved variable values before you can change them. Thus, I have to put it into a web template and set to prompt for variables at the beginning.

There are different sections in a Report Designer. G0Header, G1 Header, Det, G1Footer, G0Footer
G0 Header: Contains only the labels of the feilds that is displayed on the top of every page.
G1 Header: is a level 1 header which is displayed Beneth the Group0 Header
Detail: will display the values of Query Elements(Key/Text) placed in this section.
G1 Footer: Will be displayed once for each G1 Header that is displayed. This Can have the totals.
G0 Header: Will be displayed at the end of the page. The footer can have page nuber or totals.
For Example:
To design a simple report having Distribution Channel and Sales Amount. The report can be designed as
G0 Header: [Distribution Channel].Key [Distribution Channel].Text [Sales Amount]
Detail: [Distribution Channel].Key [Distribution Channel].Text [Sales Amount].Val
G0 Header: [Result] [Sales Amount].Sum

In the B1 knowledge base on SMP you should find more information on top of that.

Insert multiple queries using either WORKBOOK, WAD or Report Designer

Hello Guys
I have a task where I have to insert multiple queries into one single page/sheet & print it out later. For this I can use any one of the tools available: Workbook, WAD or Report Designer.
1. Workbook - Here I have read that we can use a call back MACRO and some other features.
2. WAD - Here I have read that we can use: 1. Multiple data providers (one for each query) & 2. Multiple web analysis items linking to each individual data provider.
3. Report Designer - Since this is the actual 'formatting' tool provided by SAP, I am assuming that this is the right environment to achieve my task.
My question: Which one out of the above 3 tools is actually feasible? Can someone explain me in detail about how to go about this task. Any 'How to..' docs from SAP would also be most helpful.

I have done similar requirement in Workbook,it has better features and more user friendly than others......it depends on the individual...but U cna meet your requirement thru Workbooks...
If the Req are complicated then we go for MAcros ,where in we can satify the critical req,say some sort of Dynamic reqs.
There are lot of threads on Multiple queries in one Workbook....Just search in SDN and u will get lot of Threads on this topic.
Come bak if u have any other doubts.
