Opening Photo from application server
hi all
I've installed the webutil successfully and now i want client machine to open a images stored in the application server.
I'm using application server 10g.
and i don't know if it should use the webutil or not in this task.
So you should check why the link doesn't work. When you enter the url in a blank browser-window, does it show the image? Also, you should check if the subdirectories are spelled correctly.
the sub directory spelled correctly but it doesn't open any files when i copy the url in a blank browser.
this is how i create the url for the file and i don't know if it's true or false.
example for file location
C:\IAS9I\forms90\java\GPD_DOCS\FN13\COMP1MF3926\L8602.tif
and app_server and port is 172.27.1.20:7777
so the URL will be
http://172.27.1.20:7778/forms90/java/GPD_DOCS/FN13/COMP1MF3926/L8602.tif
I've tried to change it to be
http://172.27.1.20:7777/forms90/java/GPD_DOCS/FN13/COMP1MF3926/L8602.tif
or

does the web.showdocumet need specific configuration in the application server .

I am able to open a file from the foreground mode.
However when i run the program in background am unable to open it.

Ok..go to SM51 in your system...and then check how many application servers are there..
if there are more than one..do the following..
In the background mode...the program might be running in a different application server....than the one which you used in the your foreground session..
check this..
1)
In your foreground session...go to system -> status...get the application server..
2)
when you define the job in SM36...there is a field in the initial screen.."Exec. Target"...which says in which application server you want to run this job...Give the application server that you got from step 1...Then release the job...now your program should work fine..

Show a picture from Application server
Let me reframe my question i asked earlier in this post.
I want to show a picture which is stored in Application server in my report/dialog program/smartform.
How do i do that? I don't want to upload the photo using SE78 for Smartforms. Any ways of directly picking the photo from application server, and showing it in the report / dialog program? I have other data in the program too besides the photo. So actually the output is a combination of lots of text and one photo in a corner, like a CV.

You can certainly display a Picture on a dialog screen with the class CL_GUI_PICTURE using a custom control on the screen.

GOTO - OAOR (Business Document Navigator)
Give Class Name - PICTURES Class Type - OT..... then Execute
It will show you the list, then select ENJOYSAP_LOGO.
On that list, you will find one control with a "create" tab.
Click std. doc types.
Select SCREEN and double-click.
It will push FILE selection screen.
Select your company logo (.gif) and press OK.
It will ask for a description- for instance: "company logo".
It will let you know your doc has been stored successfully
To display picture like comapany logo on ALV list header see the standard SAP example program BALVST03_GRID. In place of the Standard SAp logo you can place yourown by creating one with the following steps.

Use of Open and close data set in to pick up files from application server

As per my earlier posts i m making a programm which will pick excel sheet from application server and make auto PR by bapi and this all process will be handle by background processing (SM36, SM37). My concer is all proces are working fine but my files are not been picked by application server , when run on my own machine everything is working fine.I never used OPENDATA SET command before , so i have no idea how it will be used , can anyone provide me details with my set of codes where it should be used ....

How to delete the Generated files from application server(open hub)?
hi experts,
when i try to execute process chain the DTP it is giving below dump. Exception CX_RSBK_REQUEST_LOCKED logged.
when i execute the DTP manually and trying to delete the previous request, it is giving for dump ITAB_DUPLICATE_KEY.
so to delete the generated file from application server, how to delete it for specific dates?

Termination occurred in the ABAP program "GPD6S3OE0BCVGC6L9DBNVYQARZM" - in
"START_ROUTINE".
The main program was "RSBATCH_EXECUTE_PROZESS ".
In the source code you have the termination point in line 2874
of the (Include) program "GPD6S3OE0BCVGC6L9DBNVYQARZM".
The program "GPD6S3OE0BCVGC6L9DBNVYQARZM" was started as a background job.
and when i check the dump it is point out at below code

Open documents/files from Application Server in forms 6i
Hello All,
Our requirement is to open files that are in Application server( We do not want to upload them into database).
Is there a way to open this files from forms 6i.
I am wondering how the "View Output" or View log button works on the concurrent program submission form. Its the doing the same thing i.e pulling the file from Application server and showing up.
Please let me know if anyone has any ideas on how to get this done.

SunilI assume you are using Forms 6i in web mode here. Then it is just a URL to the file if you properly map to a directory where you store the files:
web.show_document('http://...../myfile.pdf');
But it also looks like you are using Oracle Apps, so might want to ask it in the e-Business Suite. -

the function module 'ws_execute' works fine for displaying documents placed on ur local file system. But if i want to open from application server, what needs to b done?

The solution is like this.
1> Execute - this is the solution to your program. The file is generated and put in the Application Server for the data to be sent by some means to the intended Place.
2> To Display/View - This is for the person (who runs the program) to view if the output generated is correct or not.
So to accomplish this use the same internal table for both Open Dataset and Gui download.
Open dataset puts data onto the Application server and Gui_download puts the data onto the Desktop or Presentation server for the user to see the data thats fetched.
So use them as directed to achieve the desired output.

"Open file..." dialog from Application Server (Unix)
Hi all you experts.
I have a simple ABAP program that reads input files from Application Server (Unix), at this moment the users have to enter manually the name of the file(s) in a parameter text field. I would like to add value to this program by helping the user select the file using an "Open file..." dialog or something similar that enable them to chose the file on behalf of writing the complete name (including the path).
Do you have any idea about how to implement it?

from application server that is
Open Dataset in Binary or Text Mode.

What actually happens? Do you get a short dump? Do you get a return code ne 0? Does it run fine but you get no data in your table?
We aren't mind-readers and can't help much without more information.
Try using transaction AL11 to see if you access the files you are trying to open.
