Querry on file to be send as an attachment to internet users

Hi,
Have a querry on how to send a file of >260 chars as an attachment. It is a TXT file.
The file needs to be send to internet addresses.
Currently tried with FM 'SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1'.
It sends the file as a mail attachment but the chars after 255 size getting truncated.
Thanks in advance.
Expecting prompt answers.
Regards,
Yamini.

Hi Yamini
This one of the responses by Mr.Thomas Jung for a similar query, hope it helps you.
"Have you tried breaking your structure into 255 chunks? I don't know what the structure you are moving from looks like, but you should be able break it back up into the SOLI structure. The end of a line in SOLI doesn't create a Carriage Return/Line Break. You have to insert these yourself like in the following:
Create document      clear mail_line.      move 'This is a test E-Mail'(d01) to mail_line.      concatenate mail_line                  cl_abap_char_utilities=>newline                  into mail_line.      append mail_line to l_mailtext.
What kind of attachment are you wanting to create - a text tab delimited file for reading in a spreadsheet application such as excel? You might try reassembling your data table into a single string with newlines where you need them. Then use function module SCMS_STRING_TO_FTEXT to turn it back into SOLI. This is what I have done in the past. I'm afraid without knowing more about your source structure and attachment type, this is about all I can tell you."
cheers

  • Mail sends extra .txt attachment to Outlook users

    I know this is an old issue, but I can't seem to fix it. When I send an email with an attachment from Mail to a Windows Outlook user, they receive my attachment plus an extra attachment titled ATTxxxxx.txt. I know about the "Windows-friendly attachment" option and I select that in the attachment dialog window. (I also tried Edit->Attachments->Always Send Windows Friendly Attachments.) I'm using plain text, not rich text. I uninstalled my add-ons (MailTags and Mail Attachments Iconizer). Any help would be appreciated.

    I'm experiencing the same issue, but windows outlook users are receiving an ATTXXXX.htm file, not .txt file.
    I've looked for a long time for a solution for this issue, but haven't found a way to solve it.
    If you find a way to solve it, I'll appreciate if you post it.

    Hi everebody,
                      I'm using a custom program [ see below ] ( in which there is the call to the std function SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1) to send a PDF attachment to an user's SAPOFFICE: in release 4.6C it works correctly but the same programm in ECC6 it doesn't work correctly.  I mean: the mail is sent correctly with the attachment, but when I try to open the attachment this one doesn't open correctly showing a PDF error message.

    Is there a way to view the messages I sent along with files in Adobe Send?

    Too bad...I wish that feature was still there that was in SendNow...I also have to go and get the recipients email each time I send a file instead of Send remembering the email addresses I have sent to in the past.
    Are any of the great features of SendNow going to be brought over into Send? Or are they just gone...I am a paying CC user...just curious what's going on at Adobe...Thanks for your very quick response though...I guess my message content is gone.

  • File format while sending a file  using FTP Process

    Hi,
    I am facing a formatting problem when i send a file from SAP application server to a different sever using FTP process.
    The problem is like this:
    Lets say I have a file with 10 records on the application server. When i am downloading this file to a pc, the file is showing 10 lines.
    But when i open the same file on the other server it is showing 10 records as 1 line.
    The file i am sending is a text file.(ex: acc_payable.txt)
    If i open the same file on the other server using word pad it is showing 10 records in 10 different lines.
    I want the file to be opened using notepad and want to see the each record in a different line
    Can anybody help me on this issue
    Regards,
    Radhakrishna

    Another stab at "simplest": can you avoid embedding
    newline characters in the strings
    your write and reply on PrintWriter's
    println() methods instead?But, if I understand the OP, this will cause the same problem. He is running on Unix but wants to generate a DOS type eol. The println() method will use the OS default; therefore, he needs to explicitly specify the DOS eol.

  • Outlook 2010 - sending mail with attachment - "The system cannot find the file specified"

    Hi forum Fellows,
    I have the following failure scenario:
    1. A user receives an e-mail with an attachment.
    2. The user opens the attachment --> Forwards the mail and writes something in the body of the e-mail
    3. For whatever reason the user leaves the e-mail and works on something else --> the user comes back to the e-mail an hour or more later.
    4. The user then wants to send the e-mail but gets the following error message: "The system cannot find the file specified"
    5. The effect is that the user cannot send the e-mail.....
    ------------------------------ TROUBLESHOOTING -----------------------
    - I can see that when the user opens an attachment this attachment is saved in the OutlookTemp folder. Actually, there is a difference between opening the attachment before or after clicking forward on the e-mail.
    ---- Before: Two files is written to the OutlookTemp folder. For example if the attachment name is FileX.pdf - there will be a FileX.pdf but also a FileX (2).pdf in the folder (if OutlookTemp is empty/do not contain a file with the name FileX.pdf already)
    ---- After: Only one file is written to OutlookTemp. That is FileX.pdf
    - Running Process Monitor when trying to forward the e-mail I can see that Outlook is calling a file that is not in the OutlookTemp folder anymore.
    **** To me this is the heart of the issue. For some reason, when a user has an e-mail with an attachment open for an extended period of time (not sure on exactly how long is necessary), files in the OutlookTemp folder is deleted - files that Outlook is depending
    on to be there.
    - Going with a totally clean OutlookTemp folder does not help.
    ------------------ NOW WHAT ---------------
    - The question now is: Is this by design? Can it be fixed by some Outlook 2010 patch? Or perhaps a group policy/registry setting as a workaround.

    Red Baron

    Hello Red Baron,
    Although not a complete answer, the way to treat attachments in emails require some discipline:
    1. Never open an attachment directly from the email (and NEVER edit it from there). Always save it in a known location as the desktop or (better) in a designated document folder. Then you can proceed as usual, like editing the contents, printing, forwarding
    the new version etc.
    2. Directly forwarding the attachment is ok, along with additional text in the body of the email.
    3. Having any (unsaved) document open for several hours should
    never occur. What if there is a power outage?
    Bottom line is thus Discipline. This is regardless of Operating System (which might handle temporary files differently).
    These are the rules I teach my customers and they never leave any document unsaved for hours ...
    Best regards George

  • Flat file name from Sender Side Dynamically into subject of Receiver Mail

             I am Using a file to Mail Scenario, My requirement is to get dynamically the file name from flat file of the Sender Side into Subject of Receiver Mail Adapter and attachment of file from the Sender Side. Can anyone help me out.

    Hi....
              You can write udf in the message mapping to get the Dynamic file name and map that to the subject of the receiver mail.
      DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) param.get(
              StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
    DynamicConfigurationKey KEY_FILENAME = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File","FileName");
          // read value
          String Filename = conf.get(KEY_FILENAME);

    Hi,
    Check the file path & file name , Check  the processing mode parameter which you have set?
    Check the folder properties & provide all the permission ...
    Finally check the communication channel status in RWB, If the problem persist try to stop & start the communication channel again..
    Hope it helps...

    I'm unable to email PDF attachments, this has started in the last 2 weeks - any clues why as other file types are sending?

    Greetings,
    That is rather strange. Attachments are attachments.  The big difference between what will send and what won't is usually either who you are sending it to (wrong email address) or how big the attachment is (most email providers have a limit to the total message size between 10 MB and 20 MB).
    -- What happens when you say you are "unable to email PDF attachments"?  What error message do you get?
    -- Are you sending these emails using the Mail program?
    -- What is the file size of the PDF you are trying to send?
    -- What happens if you compress the PDF before you email it (Highlight the PDF on the desktop and then go to File > Compress) ?
    -- What happens if you send the PDF to yourself?
    Cheers.
