Operation on Number

Question

Hi All,
This is regarding the operation on Varchar2 field.
Project id:
12345-6789
542034-0987
34567-20
678901
my requirement is : before '-' i have to consider as project Group and after '-' as Project Sub Group ID. where as (Project id: 678901, in this there is no sub project id at this point of time we have to keep it as Blank)
Could some one help me out of this.

use below query
