Operation retrieves no data

Question

Hi!
at selection-screen.
  l_begindate = S_DATE-LOW.
  l_enddate   = S_DATE-HIGH.
  l_addinf-valdat = sy-datum.
  l_data_sel_wa-sign   = 'I'.
  l_data_sel_wa-option = 'BT'.
  l_data_sel_wa-low    = l_begindate.
  l_data_sel_wa-high   = l_enddate.
  append l_data_sel_wa to l_data_sel_tab.
This retrives 1 result
select recn from   cciht_ial into
                   corresponding fields of table l_api_header_tab
                   where   evdat   EQ '20061018'.
Although I have entered 18.10.2006
this retrieves no result, why ?
select recn from   cciht_ial into
                   corresponding fields of table l_api_header_tab
                   where   evdat   in l_data_sel_tab.

Hi,
You need to change the format of that date inorder to retrive the data.
data: date type string,
      month type string,
      year type string.
data:  date1 type dataelement. " Here data element is data element related to your field anme.
date = s_date-low+0(2).
        month = s_date-low+3(2).
        year = s_date-low+6(4).
        concatenate year month date into date1.
        workarea-fieldname = date1.
Then you can use this workarea in your where condition.
