Operations on XML file
Hi,
Is there any API in flex, that allows us to do operations on a XML file, like, adding new tags, searching for a particular tag, modifying a particular tag(s) deleting a particular tag(s) etc.
Consider using JSON to put the data in a MySQL database:
http://www.switchonthecode.com/tutorials/flex-php-tutorial-transmitting-data-using-json
http://www.switchonthecode.com/tutorials/using-flex-php-and-json-to-modify-a-mysql-databas e
http://www.switchonthecode.com/tutorials/flex-php-json-mysql-advanced-updating
This code shows bringing the data into a DataGrid and basic processing:

Bokaro Steel CityHi guys,
Sybrand, aplogoies, the second line of the error stack was on one line in the first post, full error stack below:
ORA-22288: file or LOB operation FILEOPEN failed
The program issued a command but the command length is incorrect.
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_LOB", line 716
ORA-06512: at "JLMS.LOAD_DATA_UTIL", line 417
ORA-06512: at line 2I have looked at that error code as you mentioned, but the second line here doesn't really help much.
Hoek, i took your advice and tried to replace FILEOPEN with OPEn but got the same error.
Just to clarify as well, I am not using UNC or relative file paths as I know that these can cause problems.

Access Denied error with basic XML file operations
Hi,
I'm trying to set up a basic read, write and delete code for XML files which I can build upon in the future. The three methods are bound to three buttons on the page and all three calls are awaited. Here's my code:
Write:
XElement uservarnodes = new XElement("uservars",
new XElement("uservar1", "1"),
new XElement("uservar2", "2"),
new XElement("uservar3", "3"),
new XElement("uservar4", "4"),
new XElement("uservar5", "5"),
new XElement("uservar6", "6"),
new XElement("uservar7", "7"),
new XElement("uservar8", "8"));
StorageFolder local = Windows.Storage.ApplicationData.Current.LocalFolder;
var file = await local.CreateFileAsync("uservarfile.xml", CreationCollisionOption.ReplaceExisting);
var stream = await file.OpenAsync(Windows.Storage.FileAccessMode.ReadWrite);
using (var outputStream = stream.GetOutputStreamAt(0))
DataWriter mydataWriter = new DataWriter(outputStream);
mydataWriter.WriteString(uservarnodes.ToString());
await mydataWriter.StoreAsync();
await outputStream.FlushAsync();
Read (outputs the data to a textblock):
StorageFolder local = Windows.Storage.ApplicationData.Current.LocalFolder;
var file = await local.GetFileAsync("uservarfile.xml");
string readtext = await Windows.Storage.FileIO.ReadTextAsync(file);
XElement uservarnodes = XElement.Parse(readtext);
txtTarget.Text = uservarnodes.ToString();
Delete:
StorageFolder local = Windows.Storage.ApplicationData.Current.LocalFolder;
var file = await local.GetFileAsync("uservarfile.xml");
await file.DeleteAsync(StorageDeleteOption.PermanentDelete);
When I tap each of the buttons once it all seems to work. But when I tap any of the buttons again within the same debug session I get an Access denied exception (E_ACCESSDENIED). Other people with this error had to await when calling their method, but I'm
already doing that: private async void btnWrite_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { await WriteToXMLFile(); }, etc.
And the intervals between my taps isn't that short that you'd expect that the previously called method still had not finished completing. I don't understand why I'm getting the access denied error.
Related to my question: I have added XML to the File Type Associations, File Open Picker and File Save Picker in the appxmanifest, but somewhere I read that you do not need to do this if you're working with local app data only. Is this true?var stream = await file.OpenAsync(Windows.Storage.FileAccessMode.ReadWrite);
I think because of your file stream hasn't been closed.
by the way, it can be easier by using System.IO.OpenStreamForWriteAsync extension method
async public static Task<bool> SaveTextFileAsync(string filename, string data)
byte[] fileBytes = System.Text.Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(data);
StorageFolder local = Windows.Storage.ApplicationData.Current.LocalFolder;
var file = await local.CreateFileAsync(filename, CreationCollisionOption.ReplaceExisting);
try
using (var s = await file.OpenStreamForWriteAsync())
s.Write(fileBytes, 0, fileBytes.Length);
return true;
catch
return false;
(need using System.IO namespace)

Hello. I have a Mac Mini operating Mac OS X 10.7.2. I recently had to move my iTunes Library to a new hard drive. I followed the directions on how to move the library and refind everything yet when I do so what comes up is a mere skeleton of what I had. I have had to hunt down my purchased Apps, Music and Movies and re-add them to the library. I also noticed in doing this I have multiple iTunes Library.xml files ... shouldn't there only be one? If so how do I clean this up without doing any accidental damage (i.e. how do I find the one that is being used and delete the rest?)? If I delete the others is there any risk of losing purchased content? Lastly syncing my iPads has become a nightmare as I get the "This iPad is currently synced to another iTunes library" message. Obviously something
It's hard for me to picture the exact situation. It sounds like you still have your library file on the internal but some files on the external, and maybe some on the internal, some of which are in the library and others not... By re-adding things after consolidating it may have made things into a hodge-podge. Yes, that article you referenced says: "iTunes for Mac: Moving your iTunes Media folder"with Media Folder being the emphasis. You probably should have just moved your whole iTunes folder. Still, moving the media folder as instructed should not have messed up the library. Did you make the mistake of starting up iTunes before the external drive had mounted fully and it then told you it couldn't find many files? How you proceed to sort it out will depend upon how much time you want to spend and how important things such as ratings and playcount are to you. I have not actually used the consolidate feature across different drives myself (and don't feel inclined to do so here to test ).
If you are in the USA you can download some previous purhcases with iCloud, but not all.
Here's a bit on what an iTunes folder should look like:
What are the iTunes library files? - [http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1660]
More on iTunes library files and what they do - [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ITunes#Media_management]
Library files with graphic and explanation of different iTunes versions - http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=13169517
Once you get iTunes working off the external drive it should just put new media to the external when you add it.
I have almost no experience with synching (I synched my neice's iPod, once, about 4 years ago). -
Is it possible to generate this XML file?
Hi guys,
I'm starting to work with XML features at Oracle an I would like to know if it is possible to generate the following XML file with Oracle:

</TERRITORY_EXPRESSION>

</RULE_SET>
</DATA_IMPORT>
I investigated some of the dbms_xmlgen features, but I can't understand how to define the following tag, for example:
"<RULE BUSINESS_UNITS="Canada" CALENDAR="Main Monthly Calendar" EFFECTIVE_END_DATE="01-Jan-2200" EFFECTIVE_START_DATE="01-Jan-2005" NAME="CAN-Direct Sales Booking Credit" TYPE="DIRECT_TRANSACTION_CREDIT">"
Any help is welcome.
Thanks.
Rui BarataI would offer that the SQL/XML functions of XMLElement/XMLForest/XMLAgg would be more appropriate to your situation. They give you finer control over the XML that is generated. You can find examples in this forum or the {forum:id=34} forum.

Using JScript to search an XML File
I have an XML file that has three fields in each section like the following:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<CapabilityData xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
<capability>
<oem>A.I.D</oem>
<PartNumber>1426-5A-A1</PartNumber>
<Nomenclature>AIRSPEED</Nomenclature>
</capability>
<capability>
<oem>A.I.D</oem>
<PartNumber>1426-5A-B1</PartNumber>
<Nomenclature>AIRSPEED</Nomenclature>
</capability>
</CapabilityData>
and what i want to do is search the xml file to find if a part number exists. All this has to do is return a Yes or No response...
The problem I am experiencing is that i can get the script to read the xml and display it on the screen but once i try to add in code to actually do a search it goes all haywire... i don't know if i'm jsut doing something stupid or if i'm doing it all incorrectly.
Please be gentle, this is my first time...

XML file too large or XML element too large
I am attempting to import an xml file into the repository and have it shred into the object-relational tables. I registered a schema and it created object-relational xml_tables, triggers, and types. The full xml file is > 80MB. XDB created all the fields as VARCHAR2(4000).
error code when importing the full XML file. This is what I need to ultimately fix.
DECLARE

BEGIN
res := DBMS_XDB.createResource('/home/pharma/drugbank.xml',
bfilename('XMLPHARMA', 'drugbank.xml'),
nls_charset_id('AL32UTF8'));
END;

Vendor code 30951Error at Line:18I would guess that some of the fields have max lengths > 4000. I plan to annotate the schema with SQLType="CLOB", but need to know which fields to change. I was able to copy the xml file and reduce that xml file to one record, which imported into the tables. My plan was to write a view over the bfile to get the lengths of certain fields, annotate the .xsd with CLOBS where needed, and then import again. In order to do that, I have a 1 record file imported into a table and as a bfile.
Here is my code selecting length from a generated object-relational table of only one record.
CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW pharma.drugs_vw AS
SELECT d.*
FROM drugs, XMLTABLE

drugbank_id VARCHAR2(20) PATH 'drug/drugbank-id',

max(length(description)) as desclen

1 row selected.Here is the code for the bfile. Same results, but using deprecated functions. I read the whitepaper, Oracle XML DB: Best practices to get optimal performance out of XML Queries. It says that extract(), extractvalue(), Table(XMLSequence()), and XMLType() are deprecated in 11gr2.
-- Note extractvalue is deprecated in 11gr2 replaced by W3C standard
-- XMLCast(XMLQuery())
-- TABLE(XMLSequence) is replaced by XMLTable
-- XMLType() is replaced by XMLParse()
SELECT max(length(extractvalue(column_value, '/drug/drugbank-id'))) dbidlen,
max(length(extractvalue(column_value, '/drug/name'))) nmlen,
max(length(extractvalue(column_value, '/drug/description'))) desclen
FROM TABLE(XMLSequence(XMLTYPE(bfilename('XMLPHARMA',
'db00001.xml'),nls_charset_id('AL32UTF8')).extract('/drugs/drug'))) d
WHERE ROWNUM <= 5;
DBIDLEN NMLEN DESCLEN
7 9 229Is this better code for getting the maximum length of xml fields from a bfile? Here is what I have so far. This works on a single drugbank-id.
SELECT max(length(drugbank_id)) AS dbidlen,
max(length(name)) AS nmlen,
max(length(description)) AS desclen
FROM (XMLTABLE('*'
PASSING (XMLType(bfilename('XMLPHARMA', 'db00001.xml'),nls_charset_id('AL32UTF8')))

drugbank_id VARCHAR2(20) PATH 'drug/drugbank-id',
name VARCHAR2(50) PATH 'drug/name',
description VARCHAR2(4000) PATH 'drug/description'

Unable to recreate replica as I cannot delete the xml files for the old VM on Hyper-v Cluster
My setup
There are 2 sites each running a Hyper-v 2012-R2 cluster comprising of 5 nodes each.
All the machines are in a HA state and stored on the shared clustered resource.
Initially we had replication working and it was replicating all the servers from Site A to Site B
There were some replication issues which needed me to stop the replication and redo it again, in doing so I firstly removed replication on Fail-over cluster manager on Site A and did the same on Site B.
On one of the servers I had to remove the VM, although the VM config and Disks still remain on the Site B Cluster.
I was trying to recreate the replica but it always fails with the following error :
Hyper-v failed to enable replication for virtual machine xxxxxxxx operation aborted (0x80004004).....
I followed an article to stop the Hyper-V Virtual Machine Management Service and try delete the file,
When i tried to stop the service it would restart automatically and I was unable to delete the file. I put the service in disabled which kept it stopped however I was still unable to delete the files. I also tried to get File assassin which can help delete
and clear locked files but it too was unable to delete it while the service was running or stopped as well as its additional mode whereby it will delete it on next reboot.
The Article Https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/4c4f2535-81ee-4a21-a920-b5632de2be37/hyperv-old-vm-folders-cannot-be-deleted?forum=winserverhyperv
makes mention of stopping another service Hyper-V
Image Management Service but I am unable to find it on 2012-R2 server.
I have also tried to put the additional nodes in a paused drained roles state leaving only one node as the active one but it still will not let me delete the VM config
files, without removing those files I cannot re-initiate the Replication.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.Can you storage migrate any other vms or resources off of the CSV that contains the XML file in question? If so you may be able to then take that CSV offline, remove it from available storage, re-add as available storage, and add to CSV Volumes. Maybe
that will clear your lock. -
I had to re-load my OS (Windows XP Pro) from a HD snapshot via Acronis True Image Server. I save my OS on my C: drive and all my data files on my D: drive. So when I re-loaded my OS, I still have all of my music files intact.
I have re-loaded the OS before and had to re-create iTunes library which I did by doing the follwing:
1. cut & paste .xml file in iTunes folder to desktop
2. delete .itl file in iTunes folder
3. import .xml file through iTunes file>library>iport playlist
4. navigate to .xml file on desktop and import
This worked last time I re-loaded my OS but not this time for some reason.
So I'm wondering if there is a copy of the .xml file on the iPod itself in the iPod_Control folder that I can copy and paste to my comuter desktop and import via the above steps?
I have seen all kinds of solutions on the web that include copying the music files from the iPod to the computer. I don't need to do that. I have the music files. I just need the .xml file so iTunes can talk to my iPod (5th Generation - 30G).Backup your music library, that is the only way to ensure it does not go missing through theft, damage, operator error, machine breaks, upgrades go wrong, operator goes wrong .........

How can I delete only one part of my xml file?
Hello,
I stored more than 100 users in only one xmltype column. For instance
Create table agro(users XMLTYPE);
... and I inserted all users inside
INSERT INTO agro values(XMLTYPE
('<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
<authentication><users><user>
<name>cocoon</name>
<password>cocoon</password>
<role>admin</role>
<title>Mr.</title>
<firstname>Walter</firstname>
<lastname>Cocoon</lastname>
<company />
<street />
<zipcode />
<city />
<country>DE</country>
<phone />
<fax />
<email />
<bankid />
<bankname />
<accountid />
</user>
... another user, etc.
</users></authentication>'));
Now I tried to delete only one part of this file. For example all persons with the name"cocoon".
I used for this target the following statement:
DELETE FROM agro agro
WHERE agro.users.extract('authentication/users/user/text()').getStringVal()= 'cocoon';
When I execute this statement, Oracle DB delete all users and not only with the name "Cocoon".
How can I delete only one part of my xml file?
Kind Regards
M RThis the expected behavoir. You uploaded a document containing multiple users and then asked XML DB to delete any documnet that contained a user with the name in question. The problem here is that you are creating a mega document that contains an aggregation of user documents but then trying to work with individual user documents. This is a bad idea.
In general XML does not understand the concept of a collection of documents. It can only operate on one document at a time. Hence the tendancy to aggregate individual documents into a single larger document. Once you have an XML database, you can perform operations on collections of document, as easily as you can perform operations on individual documents, so the need to aggregate the individual documents together disappears.
If you store each user document as a seperate document then your delete will work as expected. -

Error while loading XML file to XML_type column
I am trying to load a huge xml file in table having xml_type column. I am getting an error
The following error has occurred:

Any suggestions why I might be getting this errors?
Is there any size restriction on the file that we can load with loadfromfile?
THis is the procedure I have written to load the file--

The procedure loads a file of size around 100 bytes with no problem.
