Optimal outline order for Hyperion Reporting

Good Morning -
What is the best outline order for faster report retrieval ? I am not referring to optimal order for calculation which is modified hour glass.
Is it still inverse order of hour-glass?
Thanks

hyperion Reporting (Financial Reporting)uses Report scripts to generate its data. The optimal report has dense dimensions as the columns and inner most row of data from the dense dimensions. if you have a common format of how the reports pull data having the outline ordered from the left most report row member to the right most member
So if you had the sparse dimensions of product market and customer and your report looks like customer, product market switching the order of the dimensions to match that could help report preformance (assuming you are drilling into each of these dimensions. I've also heard having your most commonly accessed sparse dimension last is better. And of course if you are using attribute dimensions in your report having the base dimension associated with the attribute dimensions last is recommended for better report retrieval (I don't know why)

  • Count PM Orders for monthly report

  • Product Order for Matrix Reports [Certification Question]

    [ My Situation ]
I'm having difficulty understanding the use of a property: a cell's Product Order property, used in Matrix reports by the main cells. Basically, I can't figure out what it does.
    [ What I Think a Matrix Report Is ]
I understand the matrix report concept like so:
A matrix report consists of 3 basic components: A category Row, a category Column, and Cells.
The Row is the result of a query such as "SELECT DISTINCT dept_no FROM emp".
The Column is like the Row such as "SELECT DISTINCT gender FROM emp".
A Cell is a summary that coresponds to the queries that formed the Row and the Column, such as:
    SELECT AVG(salary)
    FROM emp
    GROUP BY dept_no, gender
    HAVING dept_no = 10 AND gender = "Female";
The example above would produce a report where you could see whether males and females tended to have different salaries for various departments.
[ I Know How the Data Model Works ]
I understand the Data Model for a matrix report, where the summary fields go, etc.
[ What I Think Product Order Does ]
I don't understand what Product Order does for the Cells of a matrix report. It's a list of combinations of the groups in the matrix group from the Data Model. I think it translates to the order of the columns in a query's ORDER BY clause.
If I reverse the order in which the groups appear in Product Order, I get different results. If my understanding of a matrix report and the Product Order property is correct, the order shouldn't matter.
    What am I misunderstanding?
Thanks in advance for your help.

    from the online help:
Description The Product Order property is the order in which
groups are evaluated in the cross product for a summary.
Product Order also defines the frequency of a summary, formula,
or placeholder in a cross product group. That is, the summary,
formula, or placeholder has one value for each combination of
values of the groups in its Product Order. Product Order is
used only for columns owned by cross-product groups. Because a
cross product relates multiple groups, the groups in the cross
product could be evaluated in any one of many different orders.
Therefore, when creating a summary for a cross product, you must
use Product Order to specify for Report Builder which group
should be evaluated first, which second, and so on. You must
also use Product Order to specify the frequency of a summary,
formula, or placeholder within the cross product.
    Values A valid group combination.
Applies to summary, formula, and placeholder columns
Required/Optional required, if the column is a summary or
formula column belonging to a cross product group.

  • Installation order for Hyperion 11.1 products

Can anyone please tell me what is the sequence of the installation for 11.1 products. We are moving out of 9.3.1 due to various patches and issues. Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
The new EPM installer is meant to install products in the correct order (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/epm_install/frameset.htm?ch02s02.html), I know there a few issues with the installer though.
You can also mix and match some 11.1 and 9.3.1 products though I must admit I have not tried it yet.
    I would have a look at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12825_01/nav/portal_1.htm
    - Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Installation Start Here
    - Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Installation and Configuration Guide
I would also have a look through some of the readmes for known issues and certainly do some testing on 11.1 before you switch over to it.
    Cheers

  • Import Data in Purchase Order for Intrastat Reporting

    Dear Gurus,
    Technical Scenario: Extended Classic
    SRM Server: 5.5
    Backend:R/3:  4.6C
For PO created for cross border purchasing, ( vendor country different from receiving plant country ) the PO when replicated to backend system, DOES NOT HAVE IMPORT TAB.
We want Import tab to populate for cross border purchasing.
    How can we achieve this?
    Regards,
    Anil Rajpal

    Dear Gurus,
We are able to populate the "Import Data" in the backend PO in our backend system 4.6C, thorugh user exit
    EXIT_SAPMM06E_004   &   EXIT_SAPLV50E_004.
Now when we create PO from SRM , the import related foreign trade data gets filled up from the master data.
Problem: In Header and Line item condition: We are not getting the condition type GRWR automatically, if the PO is comming from SRM. Because of this the statistical value is 0.
( If we create manual PO, the condition GRWR appears in PO - and the Statistical value gets filled in automatically )
How can we put the condition type GRWR into the PO using user exit ?
    Thanks and regards,
    Anil Rajpal

  • Hyperion Reports 7.25 Report Runs 10 - 20 Times Slower in FR 11.1.1.3

I exported a Report from Hyperion Reports V7.2.5 and Imported it into Financial Reporting V11.1.1.3 via Workspace. When I run the report in Financial Reporting Studio 11.1.1.3 or Workspace 11.1.1.3 it is 10 to 20 times slower.
Note, no changes have been made to the Report structure or the structure of the Essbase database that is being used as a datasource.
However, the Essbase Version is now 11.1.1.3. It was 7. Also, the server hosting the Financial Reporting 11.1.1.3 application is a VMWare Server - the server hosting Hyperion Reports V7.2.5 was a physical server not VMWare.
The only thing I did notice that was different in the report is when you highlight the entire grid and right-click to view Data Optimization Settings - there is an option in 11.1.1.3 that says "Essbase Queries use MDX" "Combined Queries with Member". This doesn't exist in Hyperion Reports V7.2.5.
Has anyone experience a simlar issue with this extreme performance degradation? I am using more robust servers with faster cpu's and more memory.
I did play around with the tcp/ip settings as recommended in a version 9.x support document, but this did nothing.

    Thanks for replying Natesh.
Unfortunately I don't have a physical server to play around with. This was one of my concerns with using VMWare.
I didn't make any product configurations for Hyperion Reports V7.2.5. The only configurations I made were for tcp/ip settings.
I did try to run a V 7.2.5 report against Essbase 11 and it ran just as fast as it did against Essbase 7. This definitely leads me to believe the slower performance is related to Financial Reporting V11.1.1.3 or something on the server - note the performance issue is only on reports that retrieve large data sets. For all smaller reports there is no issue.

  • Report to view pending Purchase Order for Release

    Hi,
Is there any sap standard report through which we can view pending Purchase Order for Release.
    Regards,

    Hi,
you can use transaction ME28, this can give information of pending purchase order for release on release level.
but this transaction is used for releasing the collective release for purchase order. this is not an report.
if you want transaction for reporting purpose only, you need to create a report or query on EKKO table. based on release indicator.

  • Report for planned or prodcution order for production in Alternate plants

    Hai gurus,
    I have two plants - X and Y
Plant x have finished goods A and B to be produced  and procured from plant - Y
plant Y have finished goods C and D to be produced  and procured from plant - X
The production in alternate plant concept is used in plant X  for Product A and B
The production in alternate plant concept is used in Plant Y for Product C and D.
Now my requirement is how to get the report for the Purchase order raised by the
plant X for the Finished product A and B , also how to know the planned order
and production order with reference to purchase order for Finished product A and B
    under plant - Y
and VIce versa for the Finished product C and B in plant X and Y
    Waiting for the positive reply.
    Regards,
    Sekar chand

There are a few reports that you can use to display STO requisitions and orders, by supplying plant, material, or MD04 like was mentioned.
The only thing that you don't have in a report is the link to the production order. In SAP in a MTS situation there's no fixed link (pegging) between the requirement (STO) and the supply (prod Ord).
You can view the pegging dynamically, for example in MD04.

  • I need help in Report for production orders for my customer.

    Hi All
I have scenario where plant A needs the following report for Material XXX which has setting as Stock Trnasfer order from Plant B.
Need report withthe following details, Storage Unit number, Material No, Quantity, Planned Order Date in plant A,  Date Produced in plant B, Date Received by Plant A.
Please tell me if there is any standard report to take the following details. Scenario is that the header material YYY in Plant A has one material XXX as BOM component. Now this material has setting as Stock transfer from Plant B. On creating a plan order for Header material it will create a Plan order in plant B for component XXX. The above said detail is required for component XXX in plant A.

Or COOIS/COHV  for your requirement. Here you can get the Planned Order Details and also Production Order Details .

  • Report - List of sales orders for a specific region in Ship-to Party

    Hello,
I have a requirement to find all sales orders that were shipped to a specific US state within a specified date range.  For example, it would be a report to find all sales orders from 2009-2010 where the region of the ship-to party is CA.  The issue is that there is a generic "SHIPTO" partner set up where Customer Service manually enters the address and I cannot pull this information from customer master records.  Is there a standard report that I can find this information?  I cannot find in VA05, also tried looking on the delivery side in VL06o but I cannot find in there.

After doing additional digging on this, I developed a query in SQ01 using the following table join:
    LIKP  -->  VBPA  -->  ADRC
       |____>  VBFA  -->  VBRK
The address code provided in table VBPA can be accessed via table ADRC.  Therefore, when doing the link in SQ01, link together VBPA-ADRNR to ADRC-ADDRNUMBER.  When doing this it brings in the address information, then you can further develop the query to filter by region code.
For my report, I used the following fields:
    Delivery - LIKP-VBELN
    Delivery Date - LIKP-LFDAT
    Preceding Sales document - VBFA-VBELV
Preceding Item # - VBFA-POSNV (at my company every delivery document item starts with 10, later filter in the report to only show 10 in this field)
Follow-on document - VBFA-VBELN (I'm using the billing document as the follow-on to pull the net value of the invoice)
Follow-on document category - VBFA-VBTYP_N (set the document category to only look for M - Invoice; otherwise you'll pull in PGI document and WM documents if applicable)
    Net Value - VBRK-NETWR
    Ship-To Party - LIKP-KUNNR
    Partner Function - VBPA-PARVW
    Name 1 - ADRC-NAME1
    Name 2 - ADRC-NAME2
    Street - ADRC-STREET
    City - ADRC-CITY1
    Region - ADRC-REGION
    Postal Code - ADRC-POST-CODE1

I create purchase orders in ME21N and do the inbound delivery in VL31N referring the purchase order. Sales order entry is done in VA01 and once goods is in-house allocation is done in J3AB. Outbound delivery is created in VL01N.
For a report requirement I need to find the purchase order of the outbound delivery material batches.
We donu2019t maintain the purchase order number any ware in the material batch. Please advice me on how to find the purchase order of a material batch added in a delivery.
    Thanks,
    Sam

use Mb51, enter material number and batch number and movement type 101, then execute.
You get the receipt, go into the detail and you will see the PO number
Technically spoken, material movements are stored in MKPF and MSEG table
