Or.xml.sax giving error when parsing character entity

I am parsing an xml stream using SAX parser using org.xml.sax.*
When any XML tag say <name>sumit & sumit</name> OR <name>sumit & sumit</name> is parsed it throws the error as :
org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: XML-0210: (Fatal Error) Unexpected EOF.

Correction:
you need to escape the & character in your XML file by using &amp; instead of using & directly.

  • Unable to display tree view; Error when parsing an XML document (Premature end of file.)

    Hi folks,
    I am using a cascaded mapping in my OM. I have a graphical mapping followed by the Java mapping. It is a flat file to IDOC mapping. Everything works fine in Dev but when I transport the same objects to QA, the Operation mapping though it doesn't fail in ESR testing tool, gives the following message and there is no output generated for the same payload which is successfully tested in DEV. Please advise on what could be the possible reasons.
    Unable to display tree view; Error when parsing an XML document (Premature end of file.)

    kalyan,
    There seems to be an invalid xml payload which causes this error in ESR not generating the tree view. Please find the similar error screenshot and rectify the payload.

    Hi Rodrigo,
    Do you use a specific "encoding" like UTF-8 or ISO-8859-1 in your Sender CC.
    Try changing the Transfer mode to Binary instead of Text.
    Also go through these links:-

    Invalid char in XML from inbound IDoc
    Hope this provides a solution.

  • JavaMapping in PI 7.1 Error:Unable to display tree view; Error when parsing

    hi,
    i get by testing in PI 7.1 (operation mapping) this ERROR:
    "Unable to display tree view; Error when parsing an XML document (Content is not allowed in prolog.)"
    this is my java-programm-code:
    import java.io.FileInputStream;
    import java.io.FileOutputStream;
    import com.sap.aii.mapping.api.StreamTransformation;
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.Map;
    import javax.xml.parsers.*;
    import org.xml.sax.*;
    import org.xml.sax.helpers.*;
    /*IMPORT statement imports the specified classes and its methods into the program */
    /Every Java mapping program must implement the interface StreamTransformation and its methods execute() and setParameter() and extend the class DefaultHandler./
    public class Mapping extends DefaultHandler implements StreamTransformation {
    Below is the declaration for all the variables we are going to use in the
    subsequent methods.
         private Map map;
         private OutputStream out;
         private boolean input1 = false;
         private boolean input2 = false;
         private int number1;
         private int number2;
         private int addvalue;
         private int mulvalue;
         private int subvalue;
         String lineEnd = System.getProperty("line.separator");
    setParamater() method is used to store the mapping object in the variable
    "map"
         public void setParameter(Map param) {
              map = param;
         public void execute(InputStream in, OutputStream out)
                   throws com.sap.aii.mapping.api.StreamTransformationException {
              DefaultHandler handler = this;
              SAXParserFactory factory = SAXParserFactory.newInstance();
              try {
                   SAXParser saxParser = factory.newSAXParser();
                   this.out = out;
                   saxParser.parse(in, handler);
              } catch (Throwable t) {
                   t.printStackTrace();
    As seen above execute() method has two parameters "in" of type
    InputStream and "out" of type OutputStream. First we get a new instance
    of SAXParserFactory and from this one we create a new Instance of
    SAXParser. To the Parse Method of SaxParser, we pass two parameters,
    inputstream "in" and the class variable "handler".
    Method "write" is a user defined method, which is used to write the
    string "s" to the outpurstream "out".
         private void write(String s) throws SAXException {
              try {
                   out.write(s.getBytes());
                   out.flush();
              } catch (IOException e) {

              try {

         public void startElement(String namespaceURI, String sName, String qName,
                   Attributes attrs) throws SAXException {
              String eName = sName;
              if ("".equals(eName))
                   eName = qName;
              if (eName.equals("NUMBER1"))

                   input1 = false;

                   input2 = false;
         public void characters(char[] chars, int startIndex, int endIndex)

                   } catch (NumberFormatException nfe) {
              if (input2) {
                   number2 = Integer.parseInt(dataString);
              if (input2 == true) {
                   addvalue = number1 + number2;
                   mulvalue = number1 * number2;
                   subvalue = number1 - number2;
                   write("" + addvalue + "");
                   write(lineEnd);
                   write("" + mulvalue + "");
                   write(lineEnd);
                   write("" + subvalue + "");
                   write(lineEnd);
    in developer studio 7.1 i dont get error.
    this happens by testing the mapping-programm in ESR.
    can somebody help me please?

    Make sure that the xml created out after the java mapping is a valid xml with only one root node.

    Prateek

  • Persisting unexplained errors when parsing XML with schema validation

    Hi,
    I am trying to parse an XML file including XML schema validation. When I validate my .xml and .xsd in NetBeans 5.5 beta, I get not error. When I parse my XML in Java, I systematically get the following errors no matter what I try:
    i) Document root element "SQL_STATEMENT_LIST", must match DOCTYPE root "null".
    ii) Document is invalid: no grammar found.
    The code I use is the following:
    try {
    Document document;
    DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    factory.setValidating(true);
    factory.setNamespaceAware(true);
    DocumentBuilder builder = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
    document = builder.parse( new File(PathToXml) );
    My XML is:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <xs:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
    <!-- Defining the SQL_STATEMENT_LIST element -->

    Hi,
    I found the solution in the following post:
    Validate xml with DOM - no grammar found
    Sep 17, 2003 10:58 AM
    The solution is to add a line of code when parsing:
    try {
    Document document;
    DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    factory.setValidating(true);
    factory.setNamespaceAware(true);
    factory.setAttribute("http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/properties/schemaLanguage", "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema");
    DocumentBuilder builder = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
    document = builder.parse( new File(PathToXml) );
    The errors are gone !!!

  • Javax.xml.stream.XMLStreamException throws when present '&' character

    Hi
    I am writing a code using stax parser. But recently I got an error when "&" or "&" present in the xml document.
    This is the error I am getting

    Message: The reference to entity "name" must end with the ';' delimiter.This is my xml

    while (reader.hasNext())
      reader.next(); // error throws in this line
    }Can someone please help me.

    Sorry for the late reply. I was waited with the intention because this was my fault.
    Yes I am using & amp;
    But the problem return persist.
    Now I have identified the problem.
    The problem was I am using same xml for process multiple time.
    First time it does not fail.
    But the second time I am assigning the processed xml to a string and use this string as a input to the second xml processing.
    This time it automatically replace all & amp; with & .
    Now it fails.
    To eliminate this What I have done is when reading text and attribute values I am do a simple string replacing process.
    protected String encode2XML(String source)
            String src = source;
            if (src != null)
                src = src.replace("&", "&");
                src = src.replace("<", "<");
                src = src.replace(">", ">");
                src = src.replace("\"", """);
                src = src.replace("\'", "&#039;");
                return src;
            else
                return "";
        }

  • Getting XML-32000: (Fatal Error) when using xml.jar of jaxb in jdeveloper 9

    Hi,
    I am trying to use jaxb in jdeveloper 9 to create java objects from an xsd. Any help would be really appreciated.
    I tested the below example with jdeveloper10 and it worked fine as jaxb was introduced in jdeveloper 10 by providing xml.jar.
    I need to use jdeveloper 9 in my project and jdeveloper 9 doesn't have xml.jar. I copied the xml.jar and xmlparserv2.jar from jdeveloper 10 to jdeveloper9. Created a build script to generate the java files for test.xsd.
    The build script works in jdeveloper 10 but gives the following error in jdeveloper 9:
    XML-32000: (Fatal Error) error in Building the Schema
    The test.s simple and is as follows :
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="windows-1252"?>
    <schema xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
    targetNamespace="http://www.example.org"
    elementFormDefault="qualified" >
    <element name="exampleElement">
    <annotation>
    <documentation>A sample element</documentation>
    </annotation>
    </element>
    </schema>
    Below is the ant script to generate the jva files from the xsd:
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'windows-1252'?>
    <project default="generate">
    <target name="init">
    <tstamp/>
    </target>
    <path id="build.path">
    <pathelement location="C:\JDeveloper9\jdevbin\lib\xmlparserv2forstudio.jar"/>
    <pathelement location="C:\JDeveloper9\jdevbin\lib\xml.jar"/>
    </path>
    <target name="generate" depends="init">
    <java fork="yes" classname="oracle.xml.jaxb.orajaxb"
    description="generate java code from xml schema"
    classpathref="build.path">
    <arg value="-schema"/>
    <arg value="test.xsd"/>
    <arg value="-outputDir"/>
    Please let me know where I am doing wrong
    Thanks,
    SR

    You can not simply swap arround jar files from jdev 10 to jdev 9. You then are also using an entirly different jdk and there probably are some dependencies on it. Will it work if you try to run ant from outside jdev and using a 1.5 jdk?

  • Data Load error when loading character "u00F3"

    We are getting an error when trying to load a characteristic that is defined with the Conversion Routine "ALPHA".  I'm looking for advice on how to load this infoobject exactly the way it looks without peforming any checks?
    Example:
    infoobject:  IOZNAME
    char 20
    Conversion routine: ALPHA
    value:  Lórenzo

    Hi,
    That shouldn't be a problem. Plenty of people use ALL_CAPITAL without any problems. But you might want to revisit that when you goto unicode or are pulling over any 1 byte languages like Chinese, etc.
    Cheers,
    Kedar

  • XML Schema mapping error when generating web service

    I have created a method in java that returns an array of an object type (a user defined class). When tried to generate a web service JDeveloper did not allow me to select the method, giving the following "Why not.." explanation: "One or more parameters did not have an XML Schema mapping and/or serializer specified".
    Can anyone help me in this?
    Thanks

    Yes, I resolved it.
    Please ask your admin guys do following steps - it will resolve the issue:
    3. Possible problem areas
    a) Datetime data type in source system tables
    The Datetime DB data type and similar (timestamp, smalldatetime) are not used in SAP installations. This type of data cannot be transferred consistently into the BW system without additional activities.
    Solution:
    You must create a view in the source system to transform the data. Since a field of the type DateTime actually represents two SAP Basis types (DATES, TIMES), you must split it into a maximum of two fields, as appropriate:
      create view <VIEWNAME> as
      select
      VD_1_D = convert(varchar(4), datepart(yyyy, d_1))
             + case len(convert(varchar(2), datepart(mm, d_1)))
                  when 1 then '0' + convert(varchar(1), datepart(mm, d_1))
                  else convert(varchar(2), datepart(mm, d_1))
                  end
             + case len(convert(varchar(2), datepart(dd, d_1)))
                  when 1 then '0' + convert(varchar(1), datepart(dd, d_1))
                  else convert(varchar(2), datepart(dd, d_1))
                  end,
      VT_1_T =  case len(convert(varchar(2), datepart(hh, t_1)))
                  when 1 then       /* Hour Part of TIMES */
                        case convert(varchar(2), datepart(hh, t_1))
                          when '0' then '24'    /* Map 00 to 24 ( TIMES ) */
                          else '0' + convert(varchar(1), datepart(hh, t_1))
                        end
                  else convert(varchar(2), datepart(hh, t_1))
                  end
             + case len(convert(varchar(2), datepart(mi, t_1)))
                  when 1 then '0' + convert(varchar(1), datepart(mi, t_1))
                  else convert(varchar(2), datepart(mi, t_1))
                  end
            + case len(convert(varchar(2), datepart(ss, t_1)))
                  when 1 then '0' + convert(varchar(1), datepart(ss, t_1))
                  else convert(varchar(2), datepart(ss, t_1))
                  end
      from <TABLENAME>
    The t_1 Basis field in the table is converted into a DATES field VT_1_D      and a TIMES field VT_1_T. During the generation of the VT_1_T field, the value for 00:00 hours is also converted to 24:00 hours. This conversion may be omitted if not required.
    b) Float data type in source system tables
    In accordance with the IEEE standard regulations, MS SQL Server supports a value range of 1x10E-307 to +go- 1x10E+308. This also applies to the corresponding ABAP data type. However, the BW database in question may restrict this. Depending on the system, a restriction to 1x10E-25 is possible.
    c) Nvarchar data type in source system tables
    The length information displayed is twice as big as the number of characters you specified when you created the column.
    d) Writing names in the source system
    Since the R/3 kernel used in BW can only process table and column names written in upper case, on the source system, you must create DB views that convert the original names in accordance with this rule.
    e) Code page and sort sequence of the source system
    R/3 kernel-based systems such as BW basically assume that the database being used was created using code page cp850 and with the sort sequence 'bin2'.
    The configuration of the source system may differ. If the sort sequence is different, operations for string search (like) and area search (between, >, <) on character fields may return different results.
    Solution:  There is currently no solution.
    If you use multibyte code pages in the source system to save data with character sets of more than 256 characters (Kanji, Hiragana, Korean, Chinese and so on), the characters may be corrupted as a result.
    Solution:  There is currently no solution.
    f) Authorizations and visible objects
    BW DB Connect uses a remote server as a source system to extract data. The data already exists in that remote system. To use BW DB Connect, you will create a new login and new views which the SAP BW system will use when connecting.
    You must remember only the DB objects (tables and views), which directly belong to the new database login are visible.
    You cannot use a login that belongs to the Sysadmin server role, (for example 'sa').
    To create the new login and views:
    1. Create a new login and map it to a user in the database with membership in db_ddladmin
    2. Grant the new user (SELECT at least) access to the original data tables.
    3. Login as this new login and create the views in the database/schema of that user, referring to the original (source) data tables.
    4. Specify this new login in the data extraction and this login/user will read from his own views in his own schema.
    5. Optionally you can switch the new user's role to db_datareader which is sufficient for reading data. Further changes to the remote system e.g. new views or changed views will require the db_ddladmin role again.
