I am getting the error,-1722 ORA-00000 normal, succesful completion,
when executing query
Any clues?
Pls help..

Problem is solved.
Reason was: I accidentally changed the data type of a db item from char to number.
But my doubt is:Why such an error message?

USING DISCOVERER DESKTOP CAN'T EXPORT AND GET ERROR ORA-00000

we use a win 2000 server to export discoverer reports by command-line methods.In the past ,everything is ok. But from last week , we found some reports always keep in export phase and can't export anything, also with ora-00000 error.
there are 2 things should be mentioned:
1. in the past , these reports can export without any error
2. we can export the same reports normally on another server(but we don't want to change server for some reason)
I know Oracle suggest we update to discoverer 10g, but it can't tell me why another client can export normally
so where is the cause?

EBS version - 11.5.9

Presumably you have tried rebooting?
If you have windows updates set to automatic it is possible that one of the recently applied updates has done this.

Rep6i Connect Err ORA-00000 & ORA-24323

Hi,
I installed Reports6i and there are connection problems.
I have the right entry in C:\ORANT\NET80\ADMIN\tnsnames.ora (I
know, since other applications are able to connect eg.TOAD)
On attempting to connect to the database, the errors are
1. REP-0501 Unable to connect to specified database
ORA-00000 normal, successful completion
Immediately if I try to connect again i get a different error
2. ORA-24323: value not allowed
The database is up and running since I am connected via another
tool (Reports3) from a diff. machine.
Database is 7.3.4
Client m/c is WinNt4.0 with SP5 (connection problems were there
with SP3 also, just didn't report them here)
Any idea what's up?

The problem you have reported appears to be non-reproducible and
inconsistent. It is therefore difficult to get to the actual
cause. However, in the past, reinstalling the product on a
"clean" machine has solved the problem.
Can you try reinstalling Reports on a clean machine ( one that
did not have any previous Oracle installation ) and then try
connecting.

Steps: ORA-00000 is supposed to be a successful completion through...?

I have tried several times however it changes the role of primary DB to physical standby , which i again change to primary by "Alter Database Commit to Switchover to PRIMARY with session Shutdown;"

Unknown Series Of ORA Messages ' Very Weird'

Hello,
I have a db on 11g test. Everything was fine yesterday until i went this morning to work to discover i am not able to log in as sysdba.
When i log in i get this error ORA-21561: OID generation failed.
When i log in again it says connected to an idle instance. When i do ps -ef | grep db_name it shows me that all background processes are started. i ahve all enviromental variable correctly
I then tried to start the db with the startup command and i get this message
ORA-00000: normal, successful completion
then i do
SQL> select name from v$database;
ERROR:
ORA-01012: not logged on
when i use shu immediate it gives me again ORA-00000 normal, successful completion.
i then used shu abort and then started up the db again and then again the same sequence starts.
There is nothing in alert.log file and it shows a normal startup.
I also used startup pfile=, startup nomount and various options but i not able to get or view anything inside the db.
Could some please help me. I tried everything possible.

I do not have 11g but I have not heard of any issues like this with it.
You do not mention your platform but here are some suggestions
First check to see of the database instance, listener, etc ... were restarted over-night. A restart would strongly point to a change made between last night and the previous bounce.
If test was working and was bonced successfully before something had to have been changed. It should be in one or more of the folowing: spfile, listener.ora, tnsnames.ora, sqlnet.ora, startup scripts (including rcd if Oracle is set to auto-start on server re-boot. See Service on Windows), oratab, or your Oracle environment variable setting script.
If no bounce occurred and no change to any environment setting script happended I would look closely at the OS logs for hardware related issues. The IP card, IP address change, DNS issues, and so on.
Have you tried to cycle the listener?
Have you considered crashing the instance via kill of an Oracle database background process then seeing if you can restart it?
We full export our test systems on a regular basis. We also keep a manual database creation script for each database we create. If you have these then you have the option to create the database either manually or via the DBCA and then re-importing the users, objects, and data. Worse case idea, but potentially better than going an extended period of time without.

WebUtil enabled form just exits giving ORA-0000.

We WebUtil enabled a form and deployed in Linux. The form is to read an Excel sheet data from the client machine. Forms is 10g R2. When we run the form we get an ORA-0000 and for is exited. It does not even go to the WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE code.
A normal form works fine. Only when you attach the WebUtil PLL and sub-class the OLB and deploy this happens.
The frmwebutil.jar and jacob.jar is in the forms/java and archive_jini is updated also CLASSPATH is updated?
What could be the problem????

u may need to check the DBMS_ERROR_CODE u may have an exception not handeled correctly pls try to put exceptions block to any dml.

ORA-00904 not documented since Oracle 10.1!

I am not very sure if this has been left out for some purpose, but frequently encountered error like ORA-00904 is not there is the Error messages anymore. It is not documented since 10gR1 (http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14117_01/server.101/b10744/toc.htm).
Also, the Chapter headings do not have that number in the range.

Hello. Beginning in 10gR1, we began importing the descriptions of the error messages directly from the code into the book. The scripts we use capture only those messages with "Cause" and "Action" text in the code, because it would be meaningless to publish the error numbers without this information. Unfortunately the series of messages you mention do not have this text in the code, so they are omitted from the book. I have filed a code bug to get this fixed.

DG Broker - Error is ORA-12521    11gR2 RAC

I have setup DG broker for 11gR2 RAC - Primary and DR (standby) - Grid single node ( non- Rac) . It is R12 apps.
I am getting connection errors from standby to production . Although the there is no problem in arciive log shipping and DG broker setup .
But I m getting constant Error ORA-16664 ( On Primary ) and on standby - Failed to connect to remote database prod1. Error is ORA-12521
Pls advise what is missing . I have recreated password file ,but no luck.

ERR ORA-24323: value not allowed

Hi ,
I have Developer 6i work on database 10g R2 (10.2.0.3) on windows 32 bit , i move the database to new server (windows 2008 64 bit) Database 10.2.0.4.
I move the database using export utility. Everything is ok except my reports.
My reports fail with (ERR ORA-24323: value not allowed). i did a trace using the report builder i see the follow error :-
ERR REP-0501: Unable to connect to the specified database.
ORA-00000: normal, successful completion
ERR ORA-24323: value not allowed
