  • Error ORA-04098

    Please could somebody tell me what to do. I use both Procedure builder and Sql plus (Oracle 8i and Forms 6i). I ran a script catproc.sql (That is bundled in the admin subdirectory) last night. When I try drop a stored procedure or function - I get the error ORA-04098: trigger 'SYS.JIS$ROLE_TRIGGER$' is invalid and failed re-validation. When I try to describe the trigger SYS.JIS$ROLE_TRIGGER$ both logged on as an ordinary database user and as the dba,oracle claims that the trigger does not exist.
    Please what do I do.
    This problem did not occur until I ran the script catproc.sql.

    Did you try compiling the trigger as SYS? What user did you run the catproc.sql script as? It should have bee run as the SYS user.

  • Errore ORA-04098 creating Trigger.

    hi,
    I have some problem creating a simple trigger for auto increment of an "Id_column".
    I create a sequence: create sequence "sequence_name" minvalue 1 maxvalue 999 increment by 1
    then create trigger: create trigger "trigger_registry"
    before insert on "registry"
    for each row
    when (new.ID_registryA is null)
    begin
    select "Sequence_name".nextval into: new.ID_registry
    FROM DUAL;
    END;
    and finally I try to insert something into registry table but I got this error: ORA-04098: il trigger 'SYSTEM.TRIGGER_NAME' is invalid and failed re-validation.
    Has anybody got any idea about this error?

  • Oracle Errorr ORA-04098

    I have a customer who is getting ORA-04098 "Trigger is invalid and failed revalidation". The trigger and the procedures it calls compile without errors. The trigger is enabled. I have tried recompiling all the procedures and then the triggers again but this hasn't helped. It is Oracle 8.0.3 on Windows NT. Can anyone suggest a course of action to get this running?
    Thanks,
    Karl
    [email protected]

    Karl,
    This is the Oracle documentation on the error
    Please check back and look for the proper authorizations for the trigger.
    ORA-04098 trigger 'string' is invalid and failed re-validation
    Cause: A trigger was attempted to be retrieved for execution and was found to be invalid. This also means that compilation/authorization failed for the trigger.
    Action: Options are to resolve the compilation/authorization errors, disable the trigger, or drop the trigger.
    Hope this helps.

    Thanks for a prompt response. I am on 11g. I dropped the SYS trigger. Connected to the same user but not as DBA.
    Re-created sequence and triggers ensuring USER_SCHEMA.trigger and USER_SCHEMA.sequence.
    Managed to insert records with no errors now. Didn't quite catch the last comment about 11g since I'm able to create sequences outside the SYS schema (ie: as a normal user). Is this is ok or am I still missing something? Thanks

    Adding to above .
    I am Redefining a normal table to a partitioned table . We have a index in this original table . Do we need to follow the below in this scenrio or oracle will take care using copy_table_deendencies .
    --from doc
    4.Manually create any local indexes on the interim table.
    CREATE INDEX int_sales_index ON int_salestable
    (s_saledate, s_productid, s_custid)
    TABLESPACE tbs_low_freq;
    I even tried redefining a normal table with no dependencies to a partitioned table and found no errors like above .
    Does this mean that we have to create dependecis manually while redef table to partition as below
    http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/misc/PartitioningAnExistingTable.php
    --it says
    Create Constraints and Indexes
    If there is delay between the completion of the previous operation and moving on to finish the redefinition, it may be sensible to resynchronize the interim table before building any constraints and indexes. The resynchronization of the interim table is initiated using the following command.
    -- Optionally synchronize new table with interim data before index creation
    BEGIN
    dbms_redefinition.sync_interim_table(
    uname => USER,
    orig_table => 'BIG_TABLE',
    int_table => 'BIG_TABLE2');
    END;
    /The constraints and indexes from the original table must be applied to interim table using alternate names to prevent errors. The indexes should be created with the appropriate partitioning scheme to suit their purpose.
    -- Add new keys, FKs and triggers.
    ALTER TABLE big_table2 ADD (
    CONSTRAINT big_table_pk2 PRIMARY KEY (id)
    CREATE INDEX bita_created_date_i2 ON big_table2(created_date) LOCAL;
    CREATE INDEX bita_look_fk_i2 ON big_table2(lookup_id) LOCAL;
    ALTER TABLE big_table2 ADD (
    CONSTRAINT bita_look_fk2
    FOREIGN KEY (lookup_id)
    REFERENCES lookup(id)
    -- Gather statistics on the new table.
    EXEC DBMS_STATS.gather_table_stats(USER, 'BIG_TABLE2', cascade => TRUE);

  • ORA-04098

    i'm getting the error message FRM-40735 AND ORA-04098 unhandled exception other than FORM_TRIGGER_FAILURE when i'm inserting the records into the database table from froms4.5.I DON'T have .fmb file but we have executable files .fmx how can i handle this situation.its an important process..
    thank.

    check out the error message in the oracle db message book (available online on otn).
    If you don't have the fmb you can't change the form but it might be a db problem that you can solve in the DB.

    Alright.
    Now Try the DML that causes the Trigger to fire.
    And post the details.
    PS:- Please use {noformat}{noformat} before and after the SQL statements/results or code samples.
    It makes post more readable and you get better help.

  • Ora-01008 error with bind variable

    Hi,
    We have a test program which have one bind variable on a column which is varchar2(20), in the test program we've passed a 20 character string to the variable. The program returns error in one of the databases but all others are successful. We've checked the column is same in all of them.
    Exception in thread "main" java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
    ORA-01008: not all variables bound
    Could you please advise how to troubleshoot this issue?
    Regards

    We aren't going to be able to help you if you won't post the database code that is giving the error.
    And now we need the Java code that is constructing the query that you are using.
    Your error is saying there is a second variable that you are not providing a value for.
    And you said
    >
    We have a test program which have one bind variable on a column which is varchar2(20), in the test program we've passed a 20 character string to the variable.
    >
    But you are using a string that is 23 characters long

    What is the type declaration of num_tab and how is record_num defined?
    ORA-24381: error(s) in array DML
    Cause: One or more rows failed in the DML.indicates that you fail on the insert itself. Are the table definitions the same? Same primary/unique keys?

  • PL/SQL: ORA-04052: error occurred when looking up remote object.

    Hi All,
    I'm getting the following error message while executing a PL/SQL Block.
    PL/SQL: ORA-04052: error occurred when looking up remote object UPLDUSER.filestatushistory@FTS
    ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
    ORA-03106: fatal two-task communication protocol error
    ORA-02063: preceding line from FTSStatement
    declare
    v_coun number;
    begin
    select count(*) into v_coun
    from updluser.filestatushistory@fts;
    end;Back ground of the situation as follows,
    My DataBase version 10.2.0.3 DB Name :DB1
    Table Owner : UPLDUSER
    Table Name : FILESTATUSHISTORY
    I have a report user on the same database and I have grant all on the above table to report user
    Report User : RPT_FTS
    SQL> GRANT ALL ON FILESTATUSHISTORY_V TO RPT_FTS;Now Please find the below database details where I'm getting subjected error.
    Database version : 9.2.0.8
    DB Name : DB2
    User Name : RPT_REPORTS
    I Have create a dblink from RPT_REPORTS to RPT_FTS on DB1 and the dblink works fine. But getting the above error while running it.
    but When I do the same other 10.2.0.3 db , the above PL/SQL block works fine without any problem.
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    Now the strange about this is that I have Created a new table on DB1 db like below;
    SQL> CREATE TABLE UPLDUSER.ABC AS SELECT * FROM FILESTATUSHISTORY;and retry my code on DB2 (9.2.0.8) after changing the table to ABC and it worked. Now I don't know whats wrong with a original table(FILESTATUSHISTORY).
    To over come the problem and a work-a-round method I create a view on the DB1 (RPT_FTS) like the below
    SQL> CREATE VIEW FILESTATUSHISTORY AS SELECT * FROM UPLDUSER.FILESTATUSHISTORY;and was able to run the PL/SQL block Remotely.
    Just wants To know what whould have been the cause for this .
    Cheers
    Kanchana

    Hi Kanchana,
    Perhaps following link of google search has answer to your query
    ORA-04052. The search result contains some useful articles whose URLs I shan't post in the forums.
    HTH!

  • ORA-1555  ORA-3136 errors:: elapsed time vs Query Duration

    Dear all,
    - My Database version is 11.2.0.2, Solaris.
    - We have been having a problem in the production database where the front end nodes start going up and down for couple of hours sometimes. ; When node flapping is going on we get connection timed out alerts.

    Since this week node flapping is happening every day. Since past 2 days after or during node flapping we are getting ORA-1555 error.
