ORA-06512 when using DBMS_DATAPUMP.OPEN
Hi,
we're using 10.2.0.3 SE1 on 32 Bit XP Prof. with SP2 and are trying to use dbms_datapump over the network.
When we call the OPEN procedure within a Package we get a
ORA-31626: job does not exist

ORA-06512: at "SYS.KUPV$FT_INT", line 430

ORA-31632: master table "PHX_SYNC_DZ.SNAPSHOT_JOB" not found, invalid, or inaccessible;
ORA-00942: table or view not foundWhen we use an anonymous pl/sql block the open works.
The User phx_sync_dz has been granted imp_full_database and exp_full_database.
Does anyone know a solution for that?
DimI found the solution. DDL rights have been granted by roles. So the user had simply not the rights to create the create the Mastertable.
A grant create table was enough and it worked.

ORA-06512 when running AW Wizard
I have a working relational cube called TEST in my TESTR schema.
When I tried to create an AW cube in the same schema with the original cube using AW wizard, the AW cube was successfully created.
Then I tried to create another AW cube from the same relational cube, but this time I used different schema to store AW cube (TESTAW), and I got the following error message:

tx, sjarifFirst, doublecheck that the EXACT VB call to both instances is with the same values, and that the results vary.
Second, please post the code of the VB call to the stored procedure. 99.9% of the time i get a -1722 it is user error, passing an invalid value to a procedure. It is possible that some implicit data conversion that occured in 816 no longer operates the same in 9i (which is why I tend to use explicit data type conversions in long-term code). -
If I try to log into my application through anything other than Firefox I get the following message on the screen:
Error
Error processing request.
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error

If I try to access the APEX Builder through a browser other than Firefox, I get no HTML returned.
Last night I upgraded from 4.1 to 4.2.2 and ran the patch that dealt with missing developer toolbars...
Of course, I only ever use Firefox, but my users are using IE...
Any ideas?

ORA-12560 when logging as SYSDBA in 11gR2 db installed in Windows 7
I have installed Oracle 11gR2 in Windows 7. I setup all listener and tnsname file and can login to the database like following:
sqlplus cisadm/cisadm@demo
However, it throws ORA-12560 error when loggin as sysdba as below:
sqlplus / as sysdba
I have read some previous post and already set ORACLE_SID=DEMO. But it still doesn't work.
I wonder if my 11gR2 was not installed properly as I also cannot use Administartion Assistant for Windows which throws "MMC could not create snap-in" error.This because of previously installed database.
I feel that you have un installed but you have not completely removed Oracle Instances.
After the deinstall from Oracle Installer, Oracle leaves some services still running and some folders which wont be deleted .
You have to manually delete these folders.
Or follow these steps and try.
1) First step is to stop all the services relevant to Oracle database 11g. In windows 7 navigate from Start->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services
2) Click on Oracle Service OracleServiceORACLE_SID,OracleDBConsoleOracle_SID,OracleOraDB11g_homeTNSListener and Click on Link stop. Also stop these services if they are enabled - OracleMTSRecoveryService, OracleJobSchedulerOracle_SID
3) Now its time to remove references from Registry. In Windows 7 search box type regedit. This opens the Registry Editor
4) Click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Click on Software. Choose Oracle Folder. Delete it completely. Also Remove HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services and remove oracle relevant entries from there (All will have either Oracle or Ora prefix)
5) Remove the PATH variable from environment variables if set
6) Delete the database files manually from the local machine
In this process of deleting files I got an error which said windows process WmiPrvSE.exe process makes use of certain dlls such as oracell11.dll,oraldapclnt11.dll etc. I renamed the bin folder to bin_old. I restarted the system and it fixed the issue

ORA-06502 PL/SQL: numeric or value error ORA-06512 when calling a procedure
Hi,
I have been using ODP.net for a while now and have been calling lots of procedures without issue, however today I put together one to insert key, value parameters into a simple table and it is failing on me Intermittently with the ORA-06502... I have checked the code and I do not see any problems and am thoroughly frustrated... When I call the procedure directly it all works perfectly so the problem is not in the db!
Please can you help? Code follows:
Table defined as:
CREATE TABLE REPORT_REQUEST_PARAMETERS
( REQUEST_ID NUMBER,
PARAM_NAME VARCHAR2(50 BYTE),
PARAM_VALUE VARCHAR2(255 BYTE)
Stored procedure defined as:
create or replace PROCEDURE SP_WRITE_REQUEST_PARAMS
( in_request_id number, in_param_name char, in_param_value char )
AS
BEGIN
INSERT INTO REPORT_REQUEST_PARAMETERS ( REQUEST_ID, PARAM_NAME, PARAM_VALUE )
VALUES
( in_request_id, in_param_name, in_param_value );
END SP_WRITE_REQUEST_PARAMS;
Finally the ODP.net code which calls this looks like:
using (OracleConnection connection = new OracleConnection(...blah...))
using (OracleCommand command = connection.CreateCommand())
command.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure;
command.CommandText = "SP_WRITE_REQUEST_PARAMS";
OracleParameter p1 = new OracleParameter("in_request_id", OracleDbType.Int32);
OracleParameter p2 = new OracleParameter("in_param_name", OracleDbType.Char);
OracleParameter p3 = new OracleParameter("in_param_value", OracleDbType.Char);
p1.Direction = ParameterDirection.Input;
p1.Value = requestId;
p2.Direction = ParameterDirection.Input;
p2.Size = paramName.Length;
p2.Value = paramName;
p3.Direction = ParameterDirection.Input;
p3.Size = paramValue.Length;
p3.Value = paramValue;
command.Parameters.Add(p1);
command.Parameters.Add(p2);
command.Parameters.Add(p3);
connection.Open();
command.ExecuteNonQuery();
connection.Close();
}What version of database? If it's 9206 this is a known database problem, and should be resolved by patching the database to 9208. I don't have the bug number handy though.
Simply because it succeeded in sqlplus doesnt mean it's not a database problem, as the problem was intermittent and succeeded from odp sometimes too.
Thanks

when our developer tries to insert few records in a table
it throws error
ora-00001 & ora-06512,
when i tried to disable or drop the constraint indicated in the error 0ra-06512
it throws ora-02431 - constraint not existing
please guide us to solve this error.
santhanam.I agree with Centinul, you probably do not want to get rid of the uniquenes enforced on the column. Better to find out why the developer is inserting duplicate records and fix that, or, if it is possible that you might get duplicate records in production, then develop a method of handling the error that properly meets your business needs.
The ORA-00001 error can come from 3 sources. A PK constraint, a unique constraint and a unique index without a formal constraint.
SQL> create table t (id number);
Table created.
SQL> create unique index t_unq on t(1d);
Index created.
SQL> insert into t values (1);
1 row created.
SQL> insert into t values (1);
insert into t values (1)
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00001: unique constraint (OPS$ORACLE.T_UNQ) violatedDropping the constraint t_unq is not possible, I would need to drop the index. But I wouldn't, since in the vast majority of cases, the requirement for uniqueness is a business requirement, and not something put in to anoy developers.

Worker fails when running MSDODPCODE.sql causing ORA-33290 and ORA-06512
Hi All,
Hopefully somebody can help / point me in the right direction. I'm testing the process of upgrading our R12.0.5 Financials (Database 10.2.0.4) to R12.1.3 and have hit a problem when applying the 12.1.1 Maintenance Pack.
The worker has failed with the following in it's log file.

It might be worth noting that I also hit the same problem when testing RUP 6 for R12.0.6 - it was partially because of this that I decided to scrap going to 12.0.6 1st and go straight to R12.1.3 - making it a much bigger upgrade.

Getting ORA-01476 and ORA-06512 in alert log

Thanks and Regards
Thiagarajan.The root error for this issue can be found here:
ORA-01476: divisor is equal to zero
You should debug your materialized view, it is dealing with divisors whose value is equal to zero, and your procedure isn't capable of handling this exception. Try to perform a manual refresh to verify this error is repeatable and look for division operations, then debug values.

HTP.p ('Content-length: ' || v_length);

SamDHi,
I wrote about this in 2008 on my blog when I hit the problem in 11.5.9 - http://www.workflowfaq.com/workflow-notification-fails-when-action-history-becomes-too-long
Have a look at the bug, patches and workaround on there and see if that helps solve your problem.

Matt

ORA-06502 when calling from a procedure
HI,
I have a procedure(p1) inside a package that queries a table and send out the result based on the input paramater value. OUT variable is of same type as the table column(using %type), column size is varchar2(4000). This procedure is called from another procedure(p2) and sends out the result to Java Page to display the results at front-end.
Problem is when application runs and p1 is called I get the following error message,
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
Length/size of the character string queried from table is _1747_ that is within the limit of 4000 chars. If I limit the output to just 500 using substr, I don't get any error but adding a single character startes throwing error. OUT variable in both p1 and p2 are declared as table.column%type and error comes from p1 only as confirmed by the error log.
When I call p1 or p2 from a declare block, I don't get any error.
This has really confused me and I am not able to find any reason for this difference in behaviour.
Request to help me in understanding what could be the issue here.
Oracle version used is Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bit
