ORA-20001 when Updating Reporting Attributes

I have a simple SQL report in Apex3.0 - I first created it with standard display just to get the feel of it. I went back to the Report region to change the paging and display attributes of the report -> then I click on "Apply Changes" I get the following error :-
Report attributes updated.
ORA-20001: Error in DML: p_rowid=1190707439217628, p_alt_rowid=ID, p_rowid2=, p_alt_rowid2=. ORA-20001: Current version of data in database has changed since user initiated update process. current checksum = "9B5D30FA7EB05EADECC08971D3DA0C73" application checksum = "0"
ORA-20001: Error in DML: p_rowid=1190707439217628, p_alt_rowid=ID, p_rowid2=, p_alt_rowid2=. ORA-20001: Current version of data in database has changed since user initiated update process. current checksum = "9B5D30FA7EB05EADECC08971D3DA0C73" application checksum = "0"
Return to application.
I did not change anything to the table nor the data in the table.
Does anyone know how to resolve ?

HI Scott
NO I did not use the BACK button at all.
I tried this several times :
I logout - then login again -
go the page containg the sql report
-> click on that report region
-> click on report attribute tab
-> make minute changes such as "Show Null Values as : <blank>" ,
then click on apply changes > I get the same error.

  • ORA-20001 When trying to default page element to sysdate

    Hello,
I have a master detail with last updated in the detail that I want to autopopulate based on sysdate.
To do that I have Tabular Form Attributes set to sysdate and default type PL/SQL Expression or function.
The display as is set to "Display as Text(saves state).
I would like to format the date which I do with Column Attributes and then specify the Number Data Format.
When I click add row in the detai part of the pagethe date is displayed as desired however then I try and
apply the changes (save the page) I get ORA-20001: Found invalid date value, please verify date format. (Row 2)
I have tried formatting the date in the PL/SQL expression with TO_DATE(SYSDATE,'DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI')
    with the same result.
If I change the element to Text Field the date is saved correctly however I don't want the user to edit the
    feild.
    Any suggestions? Using APEX 4.1

    I have the same issue.
    1. DEFAULT=SYSDATE when using format mask='DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS' causes the time portion to appear but ORA-20001 when submitting the row.
    2. Since the base column datatype is DATE, a simple to_char(SYSDATE,'DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS') obviously causes ORA-01790: expression must have same datatype as corresponding expression.
    3. A to_date(to_char(SYSDATE,'DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS'),'DD-MON-YYYY HH24:MI:SS') leads to the same error: ORA-20001: Found invalid date value, please verify date format.
    Does anyone know the trick?

  • Ora-20001 when creating a form on table with report (bug?)

Having some trouble creating a "Form on table with report".
    1) I pick my table
    2) take most of the defaults on the page where you pick the report type (interactive) and the page number (I changed it to 950). next->
    3) Do not use tabs. Next->
    4) Select all columns for the report. THEN (here's the problem) set an optional where clause of system_role_name like 'ODPSPOPUP%'. Next->
    5) choose standard edit link. next->
    6) Specify a page of 951 for the form (leave others defaults). next->
    7) Set the form primary key (defined in table). next->
    8) use existing trigger. next->
    9) choose all columns for the form. next->
    10) Leave actions to insert, update, delete. next->
    11) Get to the summary page and click Finish
Then I get an error page saying:
ORA-20001: Unable to create query and update page. ORA-20001: Unable to create query and update page. ORA-00933: SQL command not properly ended
If I go back to step 4 and erase my where clause the wizard completes successfully.
Also if I change the report type in step 2 from the default of "Interactive" to "Classic" the wizard completes successfully. However upon running the report I get a query parse error. Looks like the where clause in the report sql is: system_role_name like ''ODPSPOPUP%'' (two single quotes on each side).
It looks as if you cannot specify a where clause with a quoted string. The wizard is expecting a bind variable.
    Workaround(s):
    1) Don't specify a where clause when report type = Interactive in "create form on table with report" wizard.
    or
    2) Specify a bogus where clause using bind variable syntax such as "system_role_name like :BOGUSVARIABLE". Then edit the report query once the wizard finishes and change the where clause to the constant string you wanted to use in the wizard (e.g. "system_role_name like 'MYSYSTEM%'")

    Andy,
It's a bug, all right. Thanks for the detailed problem description. We'll fix it when we can.

    Hi,
    I am new to APEX..
I am getting the following error when updating a tabular updateable report when I change the query that was created using the wizard.
Error in mru internal routine: ORA-20001: Error in MRU: row= 1, ORA-20001: ORA-20001: Current version of data in database has changed since user initiated update process.
I need to get some extra data other than the those returned from the detail table.Hence I have changed the query.
If i delete the row and add a row,no error is displayed.
My primary key has been hidden.
    Kindly help.
    Thanks .

I had the same problem. When I changed the query then I forgot to add primary key column in the query. That's why I couldn't update the table value. But I could insert a new record bacause I have a trigger at database level to add new id value for primary key column.

  • ORA-02263 when creating Report on Web Service Result

    Hi,
I'm using Application Express 4.2.1.00.08 and I'm having problems creating a report on web service result.
This is the tutorial I'm using: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E14373_01/appdev.32/e13363/web_serv.htm (yes, I realize it's intended primarily for APEX 3.2).
I am able to create the web service, but when creating a report on web service result, I get the following error in the last step:
ORA-20001: Unable to create form on table. ORA-02263: need to specify the datatype for this column.
I have tried creating a report on the same web service result on apex.oracle.com (Application Express 4.2.1.00.08) and I don't get the error, and I am able to create the report.
The same thing happens with another web service, so I'm puzzled.
    What could be the problem?
    Thank you.

I wasn't able to solve the original problem, but I was able to recreate the process manually, using APEX_WEB_SERVICE.PARSE_RESPONSE function, documented here:http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23903_01/doc/doc.41/e21676/apex_web_service.htm#autoId10
    Thanks again for your help!

  • Error ORA-20001 when Creating an Application Express Workspcce

I have a 11.1.0.6.0 Enterprise Edition database running on a Fedora 10 box that was created using dbca. At the time, I did not select Oracle Application Express for installation. However, I can configure APEX and start it with URL http://<host>:8080/apex/apex_admin and log in as ADMIN. Looks like I'm ready to go... Database accounts APEX_PUBLIC_USER, FLOWS_030000 and FLOWS_FILES existed at the time I configured APEX.
Following the 2 Day + Application Express Developer's Guide, I get error "ORA-20001: Unable to create user. ORA-01935: missing user or role name" when I attempt to create a workspace for the demo application. In an attempt to resolve this, I've run dbca again to install Application Express in the database, and I then get "ORA-04063: package body "FLOWS_030000.WWV_FLOWS" has errors: ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called: "FLOWS_03000.WWV_FLOW" ORA-06512: at line 2". DBA_OBJECTS reports table WWV_FLOWS owned by this user, but no package body of the same name.
Can anyone advise what I need to do to resolve the ORA-20001 error when I attempt to create a APEX workspace, or resolve the ORA-04063 error when I attempt to use dbca to install APEX in the database?
    TIA

  • HTTP 404 Not found when selecting Report Attributes (interactive report)

    Hi,
Suddenly I have a problem in the development environment of Oracle Apex. (version Application Express 3.1.2.00.02)
I have been developing and running the application for several weeks and now (suddenly) I cannot open the Report Attributes of any interactive report. Please, can somebody help me out

    - if I import the Application in apex.oracle.com it works fine again
If somebody can give a hint or solution, I will be very happy!

    Hi Ronald,
When I have this error, I contact the DBA and they find that something has failed on their end.
    Have you tried the DBA?

  • ORA-06502 when downloading report via BI Publisher

I'm getting this error when trying to export an interactive or standard report using the BI Publisher report server. It doesn't happen on all reports, but I'm not sure what could be causing the error. The result is an excel file with the message:
    <pre>report error:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small</pre>
The standard report has 45 columns and 755 rows. There aren't any errors on the UI when the report is generated.
Has anyone had this problem or know what to do to fix it? I can't recreate the interactive report region on the same page because there are hundreds of saved reports that I can't delete.
    APEX 4.1.1.00.23
    Oracle 11g 11.2.0.2.0 - 64bit Production
    Thanks!
    Jonathan Hart

After reading through the trace file from the report generation it looks like the error is caused from binding the sql query to some query or data type within the APEX engine. I double-checked the length of the query and it is longer than 4000 characters. I'm sure some of the interactive report queries are also longer than 4000 with all the filters added in.
Is there anyway to fix this?

  • ORA-20001 when creating my first workspace.

    Hi,
I'm sure this must be an easy one to answer.
I am trying to create a new workspace in my new install of Application Express 3.1.2.00.02 (Oracle 11g 11.1.0.6.0).
    I get the error:
ORA-20001: Request 1030503661329735 could not be processed. -20001 ORA-20001: Unable to create user. ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
Do I need to grant something to my ADMIN user?
Surely this should have been done as part of the install.
(I did a quick search and couldn't see the same problem anywhere else)

  • Get error ORA-20505 and ORA-01403 when UPDATING record

    Hi,
I'm running APEX 3.2.1, on Oracle XE 10.2.0.1, on Sun Ultra20 (Intel-based) running Windows Server 2003.
I created a small, department database - to keep track of contacts, equipment, etc.
Initially, I used a NUMBER as the PRIMARY KEY in both the CONTACTS table and EQUIPMENT tables. I created a CONTACTS interactive report and a CONTACT DETAILS form, where the EDIT button on a row in the CONTACTS report brings up the individual record to modify. Same thing for EQUIPMENT - interactive report page and form page.
    This all worked fine!
Then, I decided to change the PRIMARY KEY for the CONTACTS table to a STRING - with CONTACT_FIRST_NAME and CONTACT_LAST_NAME as the primary key. I figured I this would prevent duplicate entries. After the change, inserts work. Updates work, IF a change is made to ANY field EXCEPT first name or last name.
UPDATES fail - if user modifies EITHER the first name or last name - in APEX. But, update SUCCEEDS if done in SQL Developer. Obviously, I missing a subtle nuance in APEX, but I can't figure it out.
I've included DEBUG trace and version information below.
    Thanks,
    Andy

Maybe because you're changing primary key...and then updating record with primary key that doesn't exist.

  • ORA-1779 when updating a view

Hi and thanks in advance !
i am facing a critical situation.
i have two schema & both are same!
the problem which i am facing is during updating a view of one i am facing above error while the same DML is issuing againt that view in other schema and that works fine.
    what's the reason..
The major difference between two schema's is i hav different live and test database i migrate my access database to Oracle test database # 1.here i created a new user name deals . ok
i hav done same migration in my another database but a little difference here user deals is already available here and tables and views are also available i drop all the object but forget to purge recyclebin. now whenever i try to issue DML at this schema i am facing above error while the same tables same data and same view is available in above databae where my update statement executed properly. one more thing i like to add here i hav some unwanted trigger 'BIN$##$$%##$# bla bla bla' on different table. i haven't created that .
here is the view for your kind perusal

but i have sample scenario in other schema which replica of this schema so why i haven't got this error there
one more interesting thing when i query select * from user_updateable_columns where table name ='ABC' in Schema # 1 it return i can modify some columns.
but when issue the data dictionary view in schema # 2, where i was facing ORA-1779 , select * from user_updateable_columns where table name ='ABC' in Schema # 2 it return i can not modify any columns.
Tables name are same in both schema.
    Data same in both schema.
    Constraint Same in both schema.
    Indexes same in both schema.
why facing error in one schema not in other.
one more interesting thing, i had faced questionable object error when importing DMP into schema # 2.

  • Discoverer 3.1.25: getting error ORA-06550 when scheduling report

    Hello,
we are still using the Discoverer version 3 (release 3.1.25). I know that this version is out of support, but that doesn't harm use from using it...
The Discoverer has been working fine for the last couple years. At the beginning of every month the same already defined reports are getting generated. But with the beginning of the year 2010 we are getting the error:
    ORA-06550: line 1, column 93:
PLS-00201: identifier 'EUL$BATCH_PACKAGE0100112082923.RUN' must be declared
    ORA-06550: line 1, column 93:
    PL/SQL: Statement ignored
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_JOB" line 79
The numbers "0100112082923" after the identifier "EUL$BATCH_PACKAGE" specify the date and time:
    082923: 08 hour, 29 minutes, 23 seconds
    0100112: 010 year, 01 month, 12 day
The reason of that error is that the mentioned Package/Packagebody EUL$BATCH_PACKAGE*0*100112082923 doesn't exist in the database. But as a matter of fact the Package/Packagebody 'EUL$BATCH_PACKAGE100112082923 does exist. The Discoverer creates the Package/Packagebody without the "0" after the identifier "EUL$BATCH_PACKAGE" in the database, but wants to use the Package/Packagebody with the "0" after the identifier "EUL$BATCH_PACKAGE". Seems like a bug to me - does anybody have the same problem?
Until the year 2009 the year was specified with just two digits (09) - now the year seems to get specified with 3 digits (010) - but in the database just two digits are used. Is there any property table or button where this gets defined?
    Any help will be appreciated!

Seems like if I have found the bug by myself...
In the procedure SubmitJob(...) of the package EUL$BATCH_REPOSITORY the name of the scheduled procedure gets generated with the hardcoded string
"EUL$BATCH_PACKAGE0". The zero after "PACKAGE" is only correct when the year ends with one digit (e.g. 2001, 2002, ..., 2009). When shortening the
string to "EUL$BATCH_PACKAGE" everything works fine again...
    Rgds
