ORA-22160 - element at index does not exist

A script that I am running to load data into a table using bulk
binding (using nested table variables and FORALL) produces an
error
"ORA-22160: element at index [77] does not exist".
Just prior to the forall...insert... I report the size of each
nested table variable using COUNT and get a number that is much
larger than 77. I run a query on the data to see if the data
got loaded despite the error message and it did get loaded. Is
this a bug in Oracle 8.1.6 or is something else going on?
sample code:
dbms_output.put_line(i_sec_cn.count);
dbms_output.put_line(i_twn_cn.count);
dbms_output.put_line(i_sec_no.count);
forall i in i_sec_cn.first..i_sec_cn.last
insert into sections (cn,township_cn,section_no)
values(i_sec_cn(i),i_twn_cn(i),i_sec_no(i));

  • ORA-22160: element at index name does not exist

    hi
    i have a procedure which insert values from a VARRAY type in a table. My question is how can i verify the existence of nth element before inserting to avoid ORA-22160: element at index name does not exist
    Here is my code:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY CANDIDE.PE_CL IS
    PROCEDURE p_proc(Id_clt IN P_CLIENT.id_client%TYPE,
    nameClt IN P_CLIENT.nameclient%TYPE,
    --VARRAY type
    priceItem IN price_array,
    --VARRAY type
    nameItem IN item_array) IS
    BEGIN
    INSERT INTO P_CLIENT VALUES (Id_clt, nameClt);
    FORALL i IN nameItem.FIRST .. nameItem.LAST
    INSERT INTO P_ITEMS VALUES (Id_clt, nameItem(i), priceItem(i));
    END;
    end PE_CL;
    Product version: Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.1.0
    Peter

    I see the problem now. If there are more values in one varray or the other, how do you want to handle it? Below I have demonstrated, first the solution that I previous offered, that would only insert the rows where there are values from both varrays. In the second example below, I have inserted a null value in place of the missing value from the varray that has fewer values.

    This is an EM related question so I would suggest you post in the appropriate space "Enterprise Manager" -- https://forums.oracle.com/community/developer/english/enterprise_management/enterprise_manager/enterprise_manager_6

  • ORA-01418: specified index does not exist though the index exist !!

    Hi all,
    This problem occures only sometimes. I'm getting the list of indexes from the user_indexes table and later perform on them a rebuild operation by using the command :
    Alter index index_name coalesce
    This might cause on some indexes to the following error:
    ORA-01418: specified index does not exist
    I know these indexes exist and I didn't find any reson for this situation.
    Does anyone have any idea about it ?
    Thanks,
    Lital

    The index name can be created in sensitive case. Try to use double-quote.
    Alter index "index_name" coalesce;That give something like this :
    SCOTT@demo102> create index "Titi" on emp2(empno);
    Index created.
    SCOTT@demo102> alter index titi coalesce;
    alter index titi coalesce

    ORA-01418: specified index does not exist
    SCOTT@demo102> alter index "Titi" coalesce;

  • How to fix ORA-33262: Analytic workspace MY_AW does not exist ?

    Here is my version of : http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/olap.112/e10795/select.htm#CBBGEGFA
    I don't understand why I get this ORA-33262, it just does not make sense ...
    The API should be doing AW ATTACH MYSCHEMA.MY_AW RO
    Solution 1 : The DBA in my team thinks there is no way for her to create a synonym (or something like that) for the MYSCHEMA.MY_AW so I (the API) can use only MY_AW, anyone knows a way to do it ?
    Maybe the second call to _displayResult() needs to ATTACH the AW while the first does not ...
    Solution 2 : How could I specify to the API to use MYSCHEMA.MY_AW instead of MY_AW ?
    Thanks in advance !

    The error happens when the server is executing the OLAP DML command "AW ATTACH CENSUS RO". This in turn gets an error of the form "ORA-33262: Analytic workspace MY_AW does not exist."
    Oups, sorry when posting, I always try to get ride of names specific to my application/company, I forgot to change CENSUS for MY_AW in the error message
    In particular it is attaching the AW named CENSUS, but is complaining about MY_AW. I have a few questions.
    (1) In which AW does your PRODUCT_AWJ dimension live? CENSUS or MY_AW?
    I don't use PRODUCT_AWJ (I kept the comments from Oracle's example), at line 8, I use dimension.getName() instead
    This dimension lives in the AW named "MY_AW"
    >
    (2) Can you connect CENSUS on the command line (logged in as the same user where the error occurs)?
    Using AWM, I tried to do the command "AW ATTACH MY_AW RO", it does not work, I get the same ORA error, I've to use "AW ATTACH MYSCHEMA.MY_AW RO"
    (3) Is there any kind of AUTOGO or PREMIT_READ program in CENSUS that refers to MY_AW?
    No, sorry again, my mistake
    >
    (4) Have you set up any kind of security on the cubes (via AWM) that may be firing during the attach?
    Not to my knowledge, the DBA knows I've this problem, so she should have tought about it ... I'll ask her just in case

  • Primary index does not exist in database but shows in SE14?

    I added a couple of key fields to a Z table and activated it. Every thing went well - adjusted it with SE14 also.
    When I checked the Runtime object - it is OK.
    When I checked Database Object, it is showing that the Primary Index does not exist in Database but SE14 says that the Priamry Index exists in Database.
    Please advise how to correct this. I saw another psoting when I searched per this error message: "Indexes: Inconsistent with DDIC source" . It tells to create this index at Database but need to know the steps.
    pl advise.

    hi,
    To create a index for a table,
    go to se11->click on Indexes tab and create  a primary index.
    Indexes speed up data selection from the database. They consist of selected fields of a table, of which a copy is then made in sorted order. If you specify the index fields correctly in a condition in the WHERE or HAVING clause, the system only searches part of the index (index range scan).
    The system automatically creates the primary index. It consists of the primary key fields of the database table. This means that for each combination of fields in the index, there is a maximum of one line in the table. This kind of index is also known as UNIQUE.
    If you cannot use the primary index to determine the result set because, for example, none of the primary index fields occur in the WHERE or HAVINGclauses, the system searches through the entire table (full table scan). For this case, you can create secondary indexes, which can restrict the number of table entries searched to form the result set.
    You create secondary indexes using the ABAP Dictionary. There you can create its columns and define it as UNIQUE.
    reward points if useful.

  • Warning: Index does not exist in database system MSSQL

    Hi,
    After activating the Index from SE11,
    I receive the following Warning:
    Index does not exist in database system MSSQL.
    What does this mean? Has performance been increased or does the index 1st have to exist in the database system MSSQL?

    When you create index at SE11 and you need activate database utility.
    utilitities-database utility->then click activate and adjust database.
    else you can use SE14 and so that Index will create databse level.
    Reward Points if it is helpful
    Thanks

    Hi Mohan,
    After any change in the existing structure of the table you need to adjust and then activate it.
    It can be done using SE14 tcode, please try using this.
