ORA-28009: connection as SYS should be as SYSDBA or SYSOPER

Porque este erro acontece?
Acontece porque o parâmetro O7_DICTIONARY_ACCESSIBILITY está configurado como FALSE.
Agora vamos ao que interessa, como resolver:
Conecte-se como SYSDBA
SQL> conn / as sysdba
Connected
Agora vamos configurar aquele parâmetro para TRUE
SQL> ALTER SYSTEM SET O7_DICTIONARY_ACCESSIBILITY=TRUE scope=spfile;
System altered.
Agora você pode fechar o DB e abrir novamente, e logar-se como SYS ( SQL> connect sys/passwd@sv ).

http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/asktom/f?p=100:11:0::::P11_QUESTION_ID:940042518290
"My recommendation would be to leave the the O7_DICTIONARY_ACCESSIBILITY set to false and
change scripts that connect as SYS to connect as some other user. Using the SYS account
should be avoided in any case -- you should never use it to create objects, cannot use it
to create triggers and some commands (for example "set transaction read only") don't even
work when connected as SYS.
Consider SYS to be a special account that you never need to use anymore."

i have google about this error and see that some people use Oracle.DataAccess.Client namespace to solve this error. but i cant find this namespace reference.
i want to connect to oracle in c# 2005 as user id = sys.
    so , please help me.
    thanks

it should be there regardless of the version you installed, go into your GAC and give it a look over (C:\Windows\assembly) the Oracle.** should be there after a successful installation. It is actually in your best interest to get the latest and greatest, the versions are backward compatible (I believe they all work to 9i++)
    You can also goto
    %ora_home%\odp.net
it will have sample c# and vb applications there
    (%ora_home% tends to be c:\oracle\product\#####\Client_1\)
Have a look over the odp.net demos, that may very well put you on the correct track to getting things working.

    Thanks.

    ORA-28009:
connection as SYS should be as SYSDBA or SYSOPER
Cause: connect SYS/<password> is no longer a valid syntax
Action: Try connect SYS/<password> as SYSDBA or connect SYS/<password> as SYSOPER
    Therefore, Try this
    in 10G
    C:\>sqlplus
    Enter user-name: / as sysdba
Prior to Oracle 10g, when you wanted to connect using / AS SYSDBA on the command prompt, you had to put the connection string between double quotes:
    C:\>sqlplus "/ as sysdba"
To specify the connection string; you need the following format: username/password@instance as SYSDBA.

  • Event test "Archive Full (%)" failed: ora-28009:

Trying to create an event that will send an email with OEM but Im getting this message
Event test "Archive Full (%)" failed: ora-28009: connection to sys should be as sysdba or sysoper in the event viewer.
Im not sure what this refers to though - to connect to Management Server it has to be sysman user. What "connection" is this referring to ???
Oracle 9.2.0.5.0 (due to migrate to 10g at years end hurrah!)
Windows XP (now, but AIX once in production)

OK thanks for that. I went ahead and did this:
    Configuration
    Manage Administrators
    Selected SYSMAN
    Preferred Credentials
Selected target database and erased everything from the Database Credentials fields (where previously we had SYS/AS SYSDBA etc. )
I am getting the same darn error as before.
Anyway, the OEM help for this screen says
Role Select the role from the pull-down list. You need to login with the SYSDBA or SYSOPER role to start up or shut down a database.
Still stuck on this. I dont properly understand the error itself - it is telling me that the connection to sys should be as sysdba - and I am connecting as sysdba. ... . not sure what else I can do apart from try and write a script and forget this altogether.
    Thanks
    DA
Also, in the Event Viewer, according the documentation, there is an "advice" tab. I see no such tab. :(
When I try to create an event without any information supplied to the fields for SYSMAN Preferred Credentials, I get this in Event Viewer:
    "Failed - ora-0:normal , successful completion."
Now I am really confused - a "failed, normal completion" ??

  • Connect as sys user as sysdba using vbscript

Hi I have to connect to the oracle database using sys user as sysdba using a vbscript.
I have the following part in the script:
    Const TARGET_CONN = "DRIVER={Microsoft ODBC for Oracle};SERVER=XYZ;UID=sys;PWD=abc;"
    Set conn = CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
    conn.Open TARGET_CONN
When i run the script i get the error: connection as SYS should be as SYSDBA or SYSOPER
Does anybody know how to do resolve this?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
If you were using Oracle's ODBC driver, you'd add "as sysdba" as part of the password, ie:
    "DRIVER={oracle in oradb11g_home1};dbq=XYZ;UID=sys;PWD=abc as sysdba;"
However, you're using Microsoft's driver and I wouldnt be surprised if Microsoft's driver doesnt support it. If it does though, I'm not sure what you need to do.

  • Not able to connect as sys

I want to access the database through network. I was able to conect as scott. but when i tried to connect as sys this gives me error "connection as sys should be as sysdba or sysoper".
    Syntax
    sqlplus "sys/abc@xxx"
Please help me to solve this problem.
    Thanks

The parameter is required but not enough. Have you already created your password file? Are you sure your password file is already at its position:
    $ORACLE_HOME/dbs/orapw$ORACLE_SID   (unix)
%ORACLE_HOME%\database\PWD$ORACLE_SID.ORAOtherwise you'll have to create one, using the orapwd utility:
    OS>orapwd
    Usage: orapwd file=<fname> password=<password> entries=<users> force=<y/n>
      where
file - name of password file (mand),
password - password for SYS (mand),
entries - maximum number of distinct DBA and     force - whether to overwrite existing file (opt),
    OPERs (opt),
There are no spaces around the equal-to (=) character.

  • Drop DB control, error: Could not connect to SYS, ORA-12541

    Hi All,
I am new to Oracle. I am struggling to solve this problem for 2 days, but still couldn't get it done. I post my problem here and wish every guru in this forum to offer some help. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
I have Oracle 10.2.0.3.0 installed on GNU/Linux. There are several instances there. The database, listener, sql/plus all work fine. Yesterday, I installed 10g database control on server. The information showed that dbconsole created successfuly. However, I use the produced url (http:// xxx(hostname):1158/em)in my local machine (Win XP) to connect the databse, and the webpage opened. The information showed that EM couldn't be connected to database, and the status of Listener is unavailable, the inforamtion for agent connect.. is: ORA-12541: TNS:no listener (DBD ERROR: OCIServerAttach).
I googled lots of posts both in this forum and internet and tried to make some changes, but the things get worse. It still didn't work. Even i failed to drop the DB control with the command of emca -config dbcontrol db -repos recreate. the error log information in cfgtoollogs/emca is:
Could not connect to SYS/(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=svv.X.XXX.net)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=ORCL3))): ORA-12541: TNS:no listener (DBD ERROR: OCIServerAttach).
I understand it's the problem related to listener, but i have no idea how to verify it. I put the tns.ora and listener.ora here.
    tnsnames.ora:
    xxxxx
    ORCL3 =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 10.3.149.210)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SID = ORCL3)
    listener.ora
    LISTENER =
    (ADDRESS_LIST=
         (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=10.3.149.210)(PORT=1521)))
    SID_LIST_LISTENER=
    (SID_DESC=
    (GLOBAL_DBNAME=ORCL2)

    (SID_DESC=
    (GLOBAL_DBNAME=ORCL3)
    (SID_NAME=ORCL3)
    (ORACLE_HOME=/opt/app/oracle/product/10.2)
The above is the problem description, any suggestion and help are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Kind regards,
    Ian

    Hello,
you have to fix the basic problem,ORA-02019 means your remote database cannot be reached because of an invalid connect string. So it's also impossible to do a COMMIT FORCE,same reason.
ORA-30019 is due to a bug, document 274321.1 in metalink describes what to do. Here's an extract:
If you get the following errors while purging transactions using "dbms_transaction.purge_lost_db_entry"
    SQL> EXECUTE DBMS_TRANSACTION.PURGE_LOST_DB_ENTRY('5.23.2386');
    BEGIN DBMS_TRANSACTION.PURGE_LOST_DB_ENTRY('5.23.2386'); END;
    ERROR at line 1:
ORA-30019: Illegal rollback Segment operation in Automatic Undo mode
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_TRANSACTION", line 65
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_TRANSACTION", line 85
    ORA-06512: at line 1
    Fix:
    ===
    This problem is logged as
Bug.2191458 (unpublished) UNABLE TO EXEC DBMS_TRANSACTION.PURGE_LOST_DB_ENTRY WITH AUTO UNDO MANAGEMENT and is worked by development.
    Use the following workaround:
    You have to use local_tran_id.....
    Issue commit before alter system set "_smu_debug_mode" = 4;
    Follow the steps,
    SQL>commit;
    SQL> alter session set "_smu_debug_mode" = 4;
    SQL>execute DBMS_TRANSACTION.PURGE_LOST_DB_ENTRY('local_tran_id');

  • Connect DB - SYS user with wrong password

    Hi All,
A strange thing I have noticed with SYS user since Oracle 9i(never worked on earlier versions) is that I can connect to the SYS user as SYSDBA with wrong password as well! Please guide how to prevent this...
(I have searched for a solution online but was unable to find any :( )
    SQL> CONN SYS/AAA@TEST AS SYSDBA
    Connected.
    SQL> DISC
Disconnected from Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - Production
With the Partitioning, OLAP, Data Mining and Real Application Testing options
    SQL> CONN SYS/BBB@TEST AS SYSDBA
    Connected.
    SQL>
    SQL> DISC
Disconnected from Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - Production*009*

There is nothing wrong and nothing should be, IMO, prevented.
When you log in to the server as an user in the dba group (Unix) or the ora_dba group (Windows), you are a power user and O/S authentication applies to you, and you don't need a password.
Logging in as owner of the software (oracle) all the time, what many DBAs do, is a bad idea anyway, as you can remove anyufile on O/S level.
    Strategies to prevent this:
    - make sure your account isn't in the groups I mentioned
    or
    - disable O/S authentication by editiing sqlnet.ora
    Both procedures are documented.
Finally please note anyone who has root access can get around this easily.

  • Error Ora-3134, connection to Oracle 9.2.0.6

    Hi,
I want to create connection from Windows 2008 server 64 bit to Oracle database version 9.2.0.6.
I have installed "Oracle 11g Release 2 ODAC 11.2.0.1.2 with Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio" where in installation instruction I have found following requirement:
"Access to an Oracle Database Server (Oracle 9i Release 2 or later)".
After that I create simple .net application using Oracle.DataAccess.dll version 2.112.1.2. But while connecting I have error Ora-3134 Connections to this server version are no longer supported.. Do you know why I have this error?
    Thanks for any help
    Mark

    Hi,
You should not get that error with 11.2 client and ODP and a 9.2.0.6.0 database as they are supported. The 9.2 end must be 9.2.0.4.0 or higher which you seem to have.
Do you get the same error running SQL PLUS from the same 11.2.0.1.2 home and connecting to the same database?
Are you verified by some other means like client side SQL NET tracing that you are indeed connection to the a 9.2.0.6.0 DB and not some lesser version?

    Hi Guys,
Thank you both for your responses, my findings are as follows:
    1. HOST=X.X.COM, ensure host is reachable : PING works and host(s) are reachable.
    2. In RAC Env, ensure TNS Name is correctly spelled, spelling fine, i can connect with the tns name (is TNS name same as SERVICE_NAME?) by: sqlplus 'user/user@racenv'; but my efforts still will not allow me to use:
sqlplus 'user/user' it tells me that the host or object is does not exist, does this refer to the actual physical machine or the service name, or the instance name?
All host entries in my tnsnames.ora file refer to the vip addresses of both servers holding the rac installation, and both are resolved just fine, testing with ping; any other way to test this?
tnsnames file contains CONNECTION strings in the following order (does the listener entry need to be in the file? on the machine that i am trying to connect from?):
    LISTENER_ORCLTELE =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 172.16.3.9)(PORT = 1521))
    ORCLTELE =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 172.16.3.9)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVICE_NAME = orcltele)
    EXTPROC_CONNECTION_DATA =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC2))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SID = PLSExtProc)
    (PRESENTATION = RO)
I tried removing all entries but the entry for MSRAC, but still no joy:
    MSRAC =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 172.16.3.12)(PORT = 1521))
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 172.16.3.13)(PORT = 1521))
    (LOAD_BALANCE = yes)
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVER = DEDICATED)
    (SERVICE_NAME = MSRAC)
    (failover_mode =
    (type=select)
    (method=basic)
    (retries=180)
    (delay=5))
    Thanks again,
    Robert..

It mentions PROTOCOL=BEQ, this should be TCP, is there a way to enforce TCP or disable BEQ??
