Ora-3136 then ksvcreate: Process(m000) creation failed and db hangs
Recently upgraded a large database from 10.2.0.4.0 to 10.2.0.5.0.
The database recevies many thousand short-lived connections per minute.
Since the upgrade we're repeatedly running into this problem
Symptoms are that the incoming sessions will start to time out with ora-3136, then the alert log will show
ksvcreate: Process(m000) creation failed
then finally existying connections will freeze and no more connections can be established. I can't even get in to shut the db down normally - i have to kill pmon to get to the point where i can restart it.
Typical alert log pattern:
Thu Feb 02 02:26:51 PST 2012
WARNING: inbound connection timed out (ORA-3136)
Thu Feb 02 02:31:21 PST 2012
ksvcreate: Process(m000) creation failed
Thu Feb 02 02:33:29 PST 2012

Thu Feb 02 02:35:36 PST 2012

I can upload the files or they are available on the internal network.
Initially i thought it was bug 8426816, but that's supposed to be included in the 10.2.0.5.0 patchset.

Process m000 died, ksvcreate: Process(m000) creation failed
Yesterday I couldn't have any client connection to the XE database. Logged in as sysdba and was unable to do any select statements. I bounced the listener but still no client connections were possible. A look at the alert log reveals the following:
Mon Jul 31 14:00:24 2006
Process m000 died, see its trace file
Mon Jul 31 14:00:24 2006
ksvcreate: Process(m000) creation failed
This was repeating itself every minute and no trace file was created, even though it mentioned checking the trace file.
Mon Jul 31 17:57:32 2006

ORA-27303: additional information: startup egid = 201 (dba), current egid = 200 (oinstall)
While logged in as sys or system, I was unable to shutdown the database with immediate or abort option. I have to kill the pmon process.
Can someone help me with an explanation as to why this happened?
Thank youその前後にORA-xxxxのエラーメッセージはないんでしょうか?
接続要求に対して最大プロセス数の設定が極端に小さい場合に同様の現象になることもあるようです。

My database is experiencing a poor performance and when I check in the alert log I find this:
ksvcreate: Process(q001) creation failedThere are a number of reasons why creating new processes can be slow and even fail. Most of these are due to lack of resources - for example having to swap out memory to create new virtual pages for the new process. If the resources are under strain, so too will be the creation of that process.
Basic things to check would be CPU and memory utilisation, and file system free space. Also the number of processes already running. Hopefully you are not running a 101 Oracle instances on that single server platform? -
How do I get Elements 13.1 to complete downloading? It never goes beyond 8 percent then I get the "download failed" and error code u44m1i210. Any way to either get it installed or just disable the upgrade?

My ios 7 download appears to have worked, then it tries to validate, fails and says Software Update Unavailable - has happened 3 times so far
Thanks - I didn't realize there were separate validation servers. I've continued to try - 3 more failures - I will keep trying. The download worked in a timely manner so I thought I was "over the hump" :-)

Local process chain is failing and i want to run its successor chain
Hello All,
I have a query regarding process chain, which is :
I have a metachain, in which some local chains are existing.
If suppose local process chain 2 is failing and i don't want to run that i want to run local process 3 directly
(which is successor of chain 2 ).
What should i do?
Regards,
DollyHi,
You can trigger the process chain as below:
Go to TC SE37 -
> use function module RSPC_CHAIN_START -
> execute -
> put your process chain's technical name in variant I_CHAIN -
> Execute -
> specify job priority

I can't swap my slots anymore. Does anyone have an idea what might be the issue and how to solve it?
Kenneth Truyers http://www.kenneth-truyers.netHi Kenneth,
there was an issue today in West Europe region which caused it the site swap failure. I've marked the operation as failed for now.
Since the issue in West Europe is mitigated it should be safe to retry swap.

ORA-04030: out of process memory when trying ....
Hi!
Environment: Oracle Database 10.2.0.5.0 on Windows Server 2003 SP1. Memory: 4GB Ram. /3GB and PAE not set in boot.ini
There is a job that runs at night that triggered this message. We assume that not enough OS memory was free for this
process? Any recommendations greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Unable to schedule a MMON slave at: Remote Flush Main
Attempt to create slave process failed.
Can happen for several reasons:
- No process state objects
- Reached OS set limits
- A shutdown was going on
Check alert log for more details. Also, once the clients could establish the connection, i checked the total number of sessions and it was around 550+ (only few were active) and was decreasing by time. My init.ora parameter PROCESSES has the value 600.
Is it because that the number sessions has exceeded the total 600 ?
Or, was it because of some other reason ?
TIA,
JJ
