ORA-32003: error occured processing parameter 'distributed_transactions'

Hi,
We are having oracle 10g database on AIX platform. As of now,Our database is running on pfile and We wanted the database to run on spfile.I tried to create the spfile and It is throwing the below error.Could somebody help me out on this issue...
SQL> create spfile from pfile;
create spfile from pfile
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01078: failure in processing system parameters
ORA-32003: error occured processing parameter 'distributed_transactions'
LRM-00101: unknown parameter name 'distributed_transactions'
I read the following old thread in this discussion forum related to this error , but I could not find a solution in that thread.
error occured processing parameter

Hi Satish,
I'm not sure.I have taken up this project recently and seeing lot of issues with the databases, might be lack of proper administration.
For some other database also I'm getting the same error for the parameter 'job_queue_interval'
SQL> create spfile from pfile;
create spfile from pfile
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01078: failure in processing system parameters
ORA-32003: error occured processing parameter 'job_queue_interval'
LRM-00101: unknown parameter name 'job_queue_interval'
If these are the parameters from oracle 8.1.7,can I comment these out.
or How can I resolve these issues related to the parameters.

    Hi,
I need to set new value for log_buffer. so what I did was i issued the following command at sql command prompt
    alter system set log_buffer=50M scope=spfile;
    it throws
ORA-012095: specified initialization paramer cannot be modified
so i brought the DB down and I made an entry(log_buffer=50m) in the initfile
    and saved. Then, when I try to create spfile from pfile;
    it throws error
    ORA-91978:failure in processing system parameters
    ORA-32003:error occured processing parameter 'log_buffer'
Due to this I couldn't resize the log buffer.
can anyone help me in how to set log_buffer
Please help in this..... I will e grateful to you
    OS:AIX
    oracle:10.2.0.2.0
    Thanks in advance
    With Regards
    Boo

What are you trying to resolve or trying to accomplish?
Setting log_buffer to 50M doesn't make any sense at all,
as the log_buffer will be written when 1M is dirty or when it's one third full, whichever occurs first.
You are likely wasting some 45M of memory.

    -Sudheer.

    Hi Sudheer,
This is caused by the date format you are using. Probably it is not matching with your NLS settings. Check your NLS settings, what the date format is, and use that in the XML.
    Check it with this code:
SELECT XMLELEMENT("date", sysdate) FROM dual;Make sure, you have your NLS_DATE settings in the same format.
    Check it with:
SELECT * FROM v$nls_parameters WHERE parameter = 'NLS_DATE_FORMAT'And then make sure it is the same by setting for example:
      ALTER SESSION SET NLS_DATE_FORMAT = 'YYYY-MM-DD';Greetings,

  • ORA-31011: XML parsing failed ORA-19202: Error occurred in XML processing

    Hi,
I am trying to update an already existing Sales Order through PO Change Inbound 860. When i am performing changes in the line quantity and scheduled ship date with operation code as "Update" then it is successfully updating the Order and also we are able to generate the POAck for the updated sales order lines. But when i am rejecting one of the PO change lines by checking rejected flag, then order is getting imported successfully(I mean sales order is getting updated successfully) but during the POAck Generation i.e. 865 its raising "*ORA-31011: XML parsing failed ORA-19202: Error occurred in XML processing LPX-00103: Warning: document structure does not match DTD Error at line 1*" at XML Gateway. we are using XML Gateway to process the orders, can somebody help me to get rid of this issue. Thanks in advance.
    Thanks,
    Sunil Chauhan

    Hi Kishan
    Thanks for the reply.
Because this is an outbound transaction so i can not provide you the XML file as we are facing issue to generate the same. Also we are using oracle seeded PO outbound Ack map.
In addition i can provide you the DTD file.

  • Error while processing XML ; ORA-19202: Error occurred in XML processing

We have an application, which sends an XML to DB for processing.

    see example below

    Steve,
Yes it helps. I was able to finally figure this much out, however, in order to get the quotes to get handled right, I had to declare the xsl inline and I had to change (there quite a few, this just being an example) the following line from
    <xsl:when test="normalize-space(string(sub_container_settings/initial_investment)) = ''">10000</xsl:when>
    to
    <xsl:when test="normalize-space(string(sub_container_settings/initial_investment)) = ''''">10000</xsl:when>
This works, but I would prefer to store the xsl in a CLOB. Neither of these work when I get the document from the clob and call the xmldom.parseClob procedure. The parser fails with an error that the document is not valid.
Do you have any idea on how to handle the single quotes in this circumstance.

Seems like your OPEN_CURSORS init.ora parameter is set too low.
    See Metalink Note:1012266.6 for details.
       ORA-01000: "maximum open cursors exceeded"
Cause: A host language program attempted to open too many cursors.
The initialization parameter OPEN_CURSORS determines the
maximum number of cursors per user.
Action: Modify the program to use fewer cursors. If this error occurs
often, shut down Oracle, increase the value of OPEN_CURSORS,
                   and then restart Oracle.

    3.What is Memory_Target parameter value ?
    4.What is value of statistics_level parameter ?
5.Did you perform any failed upgradation ?
6.Are there any invalid objects in database ?
Generally ORA-00604 is related to insufficient size of shared pool. Now, i am googling how to get a proper value of shared pool size ? I got that there is a view v$shared_pool_advice which will tell me the answer of this question. Ok, it means now question is how do i get the proper value of shared pool from v$shared_pool_advice; i mean how do i interpret this v$shared_pool_advice view ?
No problem docs are there to answer this question : (How i got this link ? Open a new page---http://tahiti.oracle.com---selected 11.2 docs--in the left hand sided there is a search text box i entered v$shared_pool_advice and i got couple of links)
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e17110/dynviews_3037.htm#REFRN30239
I will read these links and now i will query this and DBA_HIST_SHARED_POOL_ADVICE views, interpret the values. Ok, but what about my original question i.e. ORA-00604 and 4023 ? If i am at this stage, understood all the values, it means now i can understand the meaning / sense of resizing of shared pool.
    ALTER SYSTEM SET statistics_level=TYPICAL SCOPE=SPFILE;
You can monitor V$SGA_RESIZE_OPS to identify the range of values that Oracle is automatically resizing the DB_CACHE_SIZE and SHARED_POOL_SIZE components to. Then, pick an appropriate minimum value based on the range. There's no "magic formula". But V$SGA_RESIZE_OPS shows the sizes that Oracle has been automatically been resizing the SGA components to. The Buffer Cache Advisory section of the AWR report or V$DB_CACHE_ADVICE, V$SHARED_POOL_ADVICE, V$SGA_TARGET_ADVICE and DBA_HIST_SGA_TARGET_ADVICE are views that provide advisory information as well. Hemant @ SGA_MAX_SIZE and SGA_TARGET how to set minimum for pools
So, these are the baby steps if i ever gets ORA-00604 and ORA-04023 on my test database. Do all these and feel free to post the next doubt, i am sure you will get the correct answer.
    Regards

    Dear Experts,
I got Error During WebLoad Testing.
    Please give me solution.
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1 ORA-01000: maximum open cursors exceeded

It depends on how may cursors are used in your program and the parameter value for OPEN_CURSORS. If it is not possible to reduce the number cursors used in the program increase the OPEN_CURSORS value.

Hello, I'm so worried because I can't resolve the following problem with my oracle clients on my desktop.
    Initial state:
    SO: Windows XP SP1
    Oracle clients: Oracle 8i
Issue: I can get connection and access to the DB successfully
    Middle state:
    SO: Windows XP SP1
Oracle clients: The same Oracle 8i and a new Oracle 9 client.
Issue: We need to swap between each DB 8 and 9 using the HOME SELECTOR to get connections and access. I understand that the Oracle 9 Client have back-compatibility with 8i DBs. If I tray to get connection to the DB 8i using the Oracle 9 we get the following errors.
Errors: ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-12705: invalid or unknown NLS parameter value specified
I decided to uninstall all the products (Oracle 8 and 9) using the Oracle Universal Installer. We didn't erase folders nor registers, we just used Oracle Universal Installer. Then we installed Oracle 10g
    Final Sate:
    SO: Windows XP SP1
    Oracle clients: only Oracle 10g
Issue: I can get connection and access to the Oracle 9 DB. But trying with the Oracle 8i DB I got the same problem described above.
Errors: ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-12705: invalid or unknown NLS parameter value specified
Please can somebody tell me how can I resolve this problem.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
