Orabpel clustering
Hi,
In the near future, we will deploy our engines in cluster. I have some extra questions:
We'll implement it this way:
1. Install the Oracle BPEL Process Manager Server on two different machines.
2. Set up a load balancer as the proxy for both Oracle BPEL Process Manager Servers.
3. Set up database as the dehydration store for both BPEL Servers.
4. Specify the callback address (soap-server-url) of each BPEL Server to be the
location of the load balancer.
If we want to use a software loadbalancer (e.g. apache), we can't use it for the java api (EJB), however it is important for us to have also failover through the api. Is it possible to point through the API at both engines and will it detect connection problems (connect to the running one at startup)? Could someone give a code example ?
To synchronize the configurations for both engines, is someting foreseen (adapted jsp's, other tool that makes update in both engines), or our we responsible for the duplication of the configuration changes on the other engine?
Thanks in advance for your feedback,
Veerle
I read that the default is round-robin, which i did not set in the props
file. So i'm not sure why the other JVMs never get hit???

Error when calling BPEL from ESB in clustered environment
Hi
We have recently installed SOA Suite in a clustered environment and have a serious issue.
I am not able to call BPEL processes from my ESB services via WSIF (by using the 'browse target operation' in JDeveloper). The exception i get at runtime is this.
"javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: ejb/collaxa/system/DeliveryBean not found"
When I instead call the BPEL process via SOAP (by using a SOAP invocation service i JDeveloper) it works fine.
Everything works fine in development environment which not are clustered.
Has anyone any excperience from using ESB in a clustered environment?
Regards
Kalle ViklundHi
ESB and BPEL resides in the same oc4j-instance. Though, esb-rt and orabpel are different applications in that oc4j-instance. And the lookup 'ejb/collaxa/system/DeliveryBean' only exists in the orabpel application.
In the ESB Console I already have the same setting for the 'BPELSystem' as for the 'Defaultsystem'.
Cluster name: esb_prod
Virtual host: prod1.sth.nu
Port: 80
Topic location: ESBTopics/Topics/ESB_JAVA_DEFERRED
Connection factory location: OracleOJMS/XATCF

Failed to Deploy Workflow on Clustered SOA
Hi,
We have developed a custom workflow which is working fine in the test environment which is a non clustered environment. However, now when we are deploying the same workflow on live SOA environment which is clustered, we are getting the error below. Can anyone guide how to fix this or identify which class path variables are creating problems. Does this have to do anything with clustering or not?
Failed to compile bpel generated classes.
failure to compile the generated BPEL classes for BPEL process "ApprovalProcess" of composite "default/AprvlByOrgTypeAndExtOrg!1.0*soa_b262b8fb-b416-49e7-989f-29d8dd4aaf1c"
The class path setting is incorrect.
Ensure that the class path is set correctly. If this happens on the server side, verify that the custom classes or jars which this BPEL process is depending on are deployed correctly. Also verify that the run time is using the same release/version.

This load was initiated at orabpel.root:0.0.0 using the Class.forName() method.
The missing class is not available from any code-source or loader in the system.
Please make sure the corresponding JCA Resource Adapter has been deployed.
Please correct the reported issue and redeploy the BPEL process.
These adapters are installed in the oc4j_esbdt as the install guide on soa clustering describes, and I think the deployment expects it to be in the oc4j_soa. Am I right? Does anyone know how to overcome these issues?
kind regrds
MichelHi Michel,
I found the solution myself
Just manually deploy the adapters in oc4j_soa the same as in oc4j_esbdt, now deployment goes ok.
Please excuse my ignorance. How do you manually deploy the adapters as mentioned above? Please give the details.
Thanks,

ORABPEL -12165 ERR_JMS_Provider
Hi All,
I have BPEL Interfaces which runs between RIB(AQ JMS topics) and Mainframe queues with a intermediate middle AQJMS topic.
All the BPEL processess are deployed on a Clustered Environment and Non Clustered Environment.
after 1000 or so messages we started to verify that some BPEL instances fault with the error ORABPEL-12165 ERRJMS_PROVIDER_ERR when trying to publish into AQ (this happens both to the middle AQ and RIB AQ).
Please bare in mind that this does not occur on non clustered environment.
Here are the configurations that we are using in terms of connection pooling:
oc4j-ra.xml:
<property name="waitTimeout" value="360" />
<property name="scheme" value="fixed_wait" />
<property name="maxConnections" value="80" />
<property name="property-check-interval" value="5" />
<property name="inactivity-timeout-check" value="all" />
<property name="autoCloseSession" value="" />
<property name="minConnections" value="20" />
<property name="inactivity-timeout" value="30" />
data-sources.xml
connection-pool name="JMSRBMPool"
min-connections="10"
max-connections="100"
initial-limit="0"
used-connection-wait-timeout="60"
inactivity-timeout="100"
connection-retry-interval="30"
max-connect-attempts="10"
property-check-interval="100"
Any help on this regard will be appreciated.
Thanks and Regards
NithyaHi Anirudh,
We had earlier faced issues on connections not being relesed in connection pool , so as per metalink note 727387.1 we have set properties for the connection pool at data sources level which we do not want to touch now.
Also Oracle does not recomend to set the connection-retry-interval property in the data-sources.xml.
Thanks & Regards

About 2 clusters installed on 2 physical machines with BPEL v10.1.3.3
Hi, guys,
I have a customer which wants to install 2 separated active-active clusters into 2 physical machines with BPEL v10.1.3.3. The topology is listed below:
Cluster1:
OS User: oraadmin
Instances:
Instance1 (node1): Physical Machine1 (admin port:7777)
Instance2 (node2): Physical Machine2
Multicast: 236.2.2.2:5678
Cluster2:
OS User: oraadmin
Instances:
Instance1 (node3): Physical Machine1
Instance2 (node4): Physical Machine2 (admin port:7777)
Multicast: 235.1.1.5 5555
Cluster1 and Cluster2 are shared with same database: DB_BPEL.
When I try to deploy applications into the two clusters, I got an issue on Cluster2. There is no problem in Cluster1. But for Cluster2, I cannot find orabpel in the Parent Application list. Actually I have tried re-install many times, but it still cannot work.
So my question is that is this topology feasible? I am not sure whether BPEL supports this topology. As I know WebLogic server supports this topology. Any suggestion is appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Edited by: James Piao on 2010-11-30 下午8:18Could you confirm if you have completed 1.6 steps successfully?
Is the process deploying fine and able to see the instance created on console ? Able to see the tasks created for the user on worklist app console ? 10.1.3.4 + any MLR ? -
ORABPEL-02100 - Deployed Process "Lost" under load.
We've experience yet another load related BPEL issue. We have three servers running OAS+BPEL with the same set of BPEL processes deployed on each. Requests are round-robin'ed across all three. We had an unexpected load placed on the servers by a non-BPEL process. BPEL did the usual (timesouts => MRQ) and once the issue resolved we recovered stuff from the MRQ and thought everything OK. We then noticed 1 in 3 orchestration failing. One of the App Servers had 'lost' a BPEL process:
"Error while invoking bean "process manager": Cannot find process content file.
Cannot find the content file "1.0" for process "BCJ-WR05-Process" (revision "").
Please check that the path "1.0" is correct and refers to a file that has been included as a part of the deployment archive.
ORABPEL-02100 etc"
Anyone experienced this problem?
Regards
Robinterestingly it appears the deployed jat files is corrupt - it's missing the final 242 bytes ?! It's fine on the install media (CD) so it looks like BPEL has truncated it either during deployment or at some later point. Sigh.

Issue in Synchronous File Read in clustered environment
Hi,
We are using clustered environment (4 managed servers) in Unix. In a OSB 11gR3 proxy service we are using Synchronous File Read. Randomly we are getting the below error. Let us know what could cause the issue. But the same code is working fine in a single stand-alone server configuration.

Edited by: 842347 on Jul 6, 2011 3:11 AMI face the same issue and I have given all permissions to the folder for OS user.
Because of this error my server is not starting up . Is there any way I can undeploy this composite to get my server running.
I cant do this from EM because SOA server is failing to start up.
I have tried removing it from $DOMAIN_HOME/deployed-composites but still when i try restarting the soa server the composite comes up there. Do we need to delete the entry some where else too. Kindly help.

Hi,
When I try to deploy a bpel process using JDeveloper I'm having the following xml parse error:
Error(21):
[Error ORABPEL-10900]: xml parser error
[Description]: in line 21 of "file:/C:/JDeveloper/jdev/mywork/NERGA/CriarProjectoSA/bpel/CriarProjectoSA.bpel", XML parsing failed because file:/C:/JDeveloper/jdev/mywork/NERGA/CriarProjectoSA/bpel/CriarProjectoSA.bpel<Line 21, Column 63>: XML-24538: (Error) Can not find definition for element 'process'.
[Potential fix]: Fix the invalid XML.
I don't understand why... Any idea?Ok.
This is my BPEL code. The sapattern tags are from a program that is generating part of the code. The JDeveloper doesn't show any error, I only get the error when I try to deploy.

ShrinkPeriodMinutes="15"
ShrinkingEnabled="true" SupportsLocalTransaction="true"
Targets="orabpelServer"
URL="jdbc:oracle:thin:orabpel/orabpel_password@hostname:port:database_servoce_

I m getting following error while starting the server :-
Connection Pool "BPELServerPool" deployment failed with the following error: 0:Could not create pool connection. The DBMS driver exception was: invalid arguments in call.
Also I m getting following error during startup

Error reading WSDL File in ORABPEL 10.1.3.1
Hi all,
I'm stuck with the following situation so any help would be highly appreciated.
I need to use a Web Service provided by a third party. I tested this Web Service using a .NET client successfully. I'm able to create the partner link and see all the available methods on the Web Service but when I'm trying to compile the BPEL project I'm getting this:

I'm a little bit lost into this situation. Also I cannot identified which is the main issue here.
If somebody can give me some advice/orientation about this I would be very thankful.
Thanks a lot.
JoseIf you're using OC4J standalone, use the latest available OC4J, 10.1.3.3.
If you're using a manage OC4J, ie. Application Server, upgrade to the latest available version and upgrade your JDK. The provided JDK might be outdated.

What is RID in non clustered index and its use
Hi All,
I need help regarding following articles on sql server
1) what is RID in non clustered index and its use.
2) What is Physical and virtual address space. Difference in 32 bit vs 64 bit Virtual address space
Regards
RahulNext time Please ask single question in a thread you will get better response.
1. RID is location of heap. When you create Non clustered index on heap and
lookup happens to get extra records RID is used to locate the records. RID is basically Row ID. This is basic definition for you. Please read
this Thread for more details
2. I have not heard of Physical address space. I Know Virtual address space( VAS)
VAS is simple terms is amount of memory( virtual ) 'visible' to a process, a process can be SQL Server process or windows process. It theoretically depends on architecture of Operating System. 32 bit OS will have maximum range of 4 G VAS, it's calculated
like a process ruining on 32 bit system can address max up to 2^32 locations ( which is equivalent to 4 G). Similarly for 64 bit max VAS will be 2^64 which is theoretically infinite. To make things feasible maximum VAS for 64 bit system is kept to 8 TB. Now
VAS acts as layer of abstraction an intermediate .Instead of all request directly mapping to physical memory it first maps to VAS and then mapped to physical memory so that it can manage request for memory in more coordinated fashion than allowing process
to do it ,if not it will soon cause memory crunch.Any process when created on windows will see virtual memory according to its VAS limit.

Space occupied by clustered index Vs non-clustered index
I am trying to understand the indexes. Does clustered index occupy more space than a non-clustered index because it carries the information about rest of the other columns also. Could you guys please help me understand this. Thanks in advance.
svkHi czarvk,
Clustered index in SQL Server takes up more space than non-clustered indexes.
Clustered index arranges the way records are stored in a table putting them in order (key, value), all the data are sorted on the values of the index.
A non-clustered index is a completely different object in a table, containing only a subset of columns and a row locator to the table’s rows or to the clustered index’s key.
So clustered index in SQL Server takes up more space than non-clustered indexes.
If you have any question, please feel free to let me know.

Clustered Index Vs Reverse Index
I am searching against a column of table (4 mil rows) which has a datatype varchar(19), what index is recommended clustered or reverse index
any thoughts on this would help
ThanksReverse indexes are used for write performance.
If you insert a lot of rows quickly and you use an incrementing value as the index key, typically a sequence, then your insert performance will benefit.
An index is simply ordered data, so if you need to insert into the index
9567843
9567844
9567845
9567846
9567847
9567848
They will all write to the same block.
Whereas with
3487659
4487659
5487659
6487659
7487659
8487659
they will not as there are big gaps in the index values.
If anything flipping the value back may have some overhead, so read performance could be very slightly degraded, but I must emphasize that this is untested speculation.
