Oracle 11g driver to be configured to weblogic9.2

Hi All,
I need oracle 11g driver to be configured to weblogic9.2...
Surfing for this found we need to add ojdbc5_g.jar; but no luck.
Can u advise here if u have any idea?

A related question is about versions NOT listed here. If its not listed here, its not supported. You should verify with your support channel that you are still on a supported version of Oracle. For example, a lot of people have asked about 8.1.7 which has been desupported. People still using 8.1.7 need to contact their support channels for upgrade info (some of these upgrades are free!).

Your question is very generic, so here is a generic answer... download it from OTN because doing so you will have the latest version and use the embedded PL/SQL gateway because it is easier and simpler to use than the separate HTTP server.

CRS not starting after Oracle 11g Grid was succesuflly installed

Hi:
Have 2 node RAC. My Shared storage is on openfiler.
Oracle 11g Grid was successfully installed and all the services was working fine. When i restarted the system I found CRS was not coming up. Remaining processes were up and running.
Let me explain what I did: (O/s RHEL 5.4 & oracle 11g R2 grid)
I have a partition in shared disk /dev/sdc1 (I have other partitions, but thought of using only one for OCR and voting disk). (did not define it as raw partition as I used to do in 10g RAC).
While installing Oracle grid and when it prompted to enter the Diskgroup for OCR and Voting disk I gave a name DGDATA and choose only one (external redundancy) disk “/dev/sdc1″ (it does not ask for one for OCR and one for Voting as it used to do in 10g clusterware installation). As per my assumption both OCR and Voting disk were created within /dev/sdc1 (after installation when I queried I got the same info)
The Oracle grid installation has gone through successfully. when I restart the system I find CRS not starting.
The log says: “Error PROC:26: Error while accessing the physical storage ASM……..
ORA-01034: oracle not available...
Could not init OCR, code:26….
Linux permission denied".
For your information….ASM instance is up (check in both the nodes) and I find the diskgroup mounted.
Can anyone help on this.
Also let me know how to uninstall Oracle 11g Grid software and configuration. If I have to reinstall the Oracle 11g grid software and config once again is it possible without reinstalling RHEL. Let me know the steps or any link please. don't want to get into a mess again.

Jorg, I even tried to nomount the DB instance using initDBRAC.ora pfile. Then tried to create spfile still got the same error.

ORACLE ODBC DRIVER INSTALLATION

I have downloaded Oracle8 client on my windows95 PC. It is showing ODBC driver installed in the installed components list.
But this driver is not coming up in the drivers list of ODBC Data Source Administrator screen.
Could any body help me in this regard.

If you look at the following key in your registry, you should see an entry "Oracle ODBC Driver" with data "Installed".
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBCINST.INI\ODBC Drivers
There should also be a key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBCINST.INI\Oracle ODBC Driver
with various configuration parameters set. If either of these keys is not there, I suspect you'll have to re-install the ODBC driver.

How to setup Oracle 11g OEM

We use oracle 11g DB for Oracle Argus in win2008R2.
It looks customer oracle 11g DB is not configured for OEM. I saw member login by SQLplus.
Is there any step-by-step document to setup OEM of oracle DB in windows2008R2 ?

This should be in the documentation, these are empty. For an example simply take a look in the OEM_EXEC_TEMPLATE.SQL file. You will see how this is done (basically empty ",")

Oracle 11g EM configuration problem

It seems a "bug" to me:
Windows 2003 R2 64-bit with all up-to-date patches
64-bit Oracle 11.1.0.7 for Windows 2003 R2 64-bit
The machine has only one HD right now and it is assigned to H, the DVD drive is assigned to D
Installed Oracle 11g, everything is fine, didn't configure the EM during installation.
After installation, manually configure the EM:
H:>emca -repos create
H:>emca -config dbcontrol db
all seems fine, but at the end of the second command, 2 perl.exe instances started. One of them never stops. It just eating up all the RAM (from 1.3GB --> 4GB and still increasing) and CPU (100% all the time).
The solution: plug-in a USB drive, which will be assigned to be C drive. Then the perl.exe calms down immediately, released most of the memory and CPU used.
But the perl.exe can resume this behavior maybe every one or two days. So, to calm it down, I have to keep the USB drive plugged.

Never heard about this,report the issue to Oracle support (you have a patched version,so I think you can open a SR on metalink). It may be that there's a 'hard-coded' reference to drive C somewhere in the code.

Error configuring shared services with Oracle 11g database

I've installed Hyperion EPM 11.1.1.3 and orale 11g successfully. My problem though is that when i tried to do the configuration,
the error message states 'Unable to check Shared Services database existence: an error occured.'

I believed the shared services is bundled with the foundation if I'm not mistaken, because I can't find any download related to it on edelivery site.
I tried to configure only the Foundation components but the '*Comman setting*' & '*configure database*' are grayed out so I have no option but to figure out first this shared services configuration.

Thanx John for your kind reply. i reffred your other posts and those are very helpfull for me.
I don't have any previous ver. of Hyperion. and i created a new database 'Orcl' for configuring the shared services and given the user name as 'hss'. i also tried to delete my old database and and reg.properties file from Hyperion Dir u suggested in some other post. but still its not working.
Today I have started again with fres installation of Windows Server 2003 oracle 11g EPM 11.1.3.
Also I m Installing this on VMware. I hope this is not the issue as i already installed Microsoft Loopback Adapter.
I will let you know the updates.

Oracle 11g dg4odbc OpenLink postgres odbc driver for Linux... Integer issue

We were using scuccessfully the openlink driver for postgres odbc driver to connect oracle and postgres in solaris and oracle 10g hsodbc
we are migrating to Linux Oracle 11g and installed linux psotgres odbc driver and configured oracle 11g dg4odbc gateway.
We could connect from oracle and retrive the data from postgres.
Issue we have is
The integer data is not showing correctly…
For example in the postgres the value is 1 and in oracle its shown as 4294967297.

I am trying to install oracle 11g xe on ubuntu aws instance when i execute sudo /etc/init.d/oracle-xe configure command iam getting this error: sudo: /etc/init.d/oracle-xe : command not found

"command not found" means ... there is no such thing.
Has the .rpm been installed?

Error while configuring Oracle 11g Forms/Reports Product during istallation

Dears,
We are trying to configuring Oracle 11g Forms / Reports during istallation.
OS using: Win 7 -- 32 bit
RAM: 4 GB
We have installed the following modules successfully.
Following are the steps which we have followed:
1. Installation of Oracle jdk's --> Successful
2. Installation of Oracle web Logic Product --> Successful
3. Installation of Oracle Forms & reports Products ---> Successful
4. Configuration of Oracle 11g Forms / Reports Products --> Failed
After performing step 4, we are getting an error in the .out file
Can anyone please let us know what we have to do for making the step 4 successful.

Can not configure Oracle 10g form on oracle 11g client

Hi
I need to install oracle 10g form in my system .
Here is my system
1. OS --XP
2. 32 Bit
4. Already oracle 11g release client installed ( I think that create the problem )
I tried to install oracle 10g form , it installed but can cont configure net manager for it , Always it point to 11g client and hence I could not configure .
Also I tried install Oracle Forms first then 11g client , But I got same issue .
I think if I created multiplr home one for 11g client and other for forms , it may work out .

Oracle jdbc driver spending 40 seconds to make connection to Oracle db 11g

we are using weblogic 10.3.3 and teh default Oracle11.1.0.7 Driver ojdbc6.jar to talk to Oracle db 11.2.0.1
After reviewing weblogic logs I see that it takes 50 secodns for each connection to db
HHere is a snippet (note I put in a 10 sec login dleay as i was experimenting, butt eh problem still occurs with or without login delay)

There is someting wrong in this environment
I donwloaded the _g version fo teh exact same driver and had weblogic use it so I could generate verbose logs
Here is a snippet fo teh oracle drivers verbose log file . If you notice the key parts
it seems like its spending 40 second to make the connection, goes into a setConnectionDuringExceptionHandling method and creates the connection
can someone shed light on what causes itto go into an exception state
This happens for each and every connection but only in one specific environment
we have other environments which seem towork fine with the exact same product versions except for this environment
Thank you for any guidance on troubleshooting this further

I would file an oracle jdbc bug to begin with, but I am guessing the driver is simply waiting
for the DBMS to respond, so yo may need a good DBA to see what the DBMS thinks is going
on at the time. I did hear of a case where the DBMS was doing some auditing, logging
some info during every login. This info was being written to an OS file which just happened
to be remote-mounted and would occasionally take 30 seconds, which caused connection
requests to timeout at the driver end.... WebLogic is just asking the driver for a connection
using your properties, so it's not involved directly with the problem....

It works with earlier oracle client versions. how do i resolve this. is there any issue with version of ojdbc6.jar that i am using??? I cant use thin driver since its an old application for which i dont have source files.
