Oracle 8.1.6 and glibc-2.1.3.15
hi
I have running ORACLE 8.1.6 on RH6.2 with glibc-2.1.3.15. I wrote a package like that:

open v_crsr for 'select * from destek.srn where srn_sb_no is null order by kyt_trh desc';
ELSE
open v_crsr for 'SELECT * FROM destek.SRN WHERE (kyddn = :lg_nm_in AND srn_sb_no IS NULL) OR (ony = ''e'' AND srn_sb_no IS NULL) order by kyt_trh desc' USING lg_nm_in;
END IF;
ELSIF (lst_nm_in='answr') THEN
open v_crsr for 'select * from destek.srn where srn_sb_no = :srn_no_in order by kyt_trh asc' USING srn_no_in;

When I call this package with
lstr2.gnrt_lst('answr',v_lg_nm,v_ip_addr,srn_no_in,'','',''); from another procedure,
I see error messages at console

I couldnt find what it is wrong and relation glibc and this packet.
after FETCH v_crsr INTO answr_lst;
there is no control statement such as exit when....
So this situation is occurs

Oracle Single Sign on and Oracle Internet Directory
Hello Gurus,
What is the relationship between Oracle Single Sign on and Oracle Internet Directory.
To my understanding, OID is required to install SSO.
If OID already exist, can we just install SSO and go on integrating it to existing OID.
Great Thanks,
vimal jain.
[email protected]Hi Tim,
I've been working on this and could reproduce the issue with anonymous binds. A fix will be ready in 4.2.1.
So what I really need is the password used for login to pass to the is_member call.The P101_PASSWORD item does not save state. However, you can access the value during submit processing of the login page, for example in the post authentication function of your authentication scheme. People sometimes put code in there to query the user's groups (e.g. with apex_ldap.member_of2) and save them in an application. This item value can then be used in the authorization schemes.

JDBC Problem with Oracle 8.1.7. and OC4J Version 2
I use the following connection statement with Oracle 8.1.7. and JDeveloper 3 and Apache Server. It works fine.
String user = "scott/tiger";
DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:oracle:oci8:"+user+"@RDL");
The same program does not obtain the connection with JDeveloper 9i, OC4J Version 2 and Oracle 8.1.7. I do not receive any error message, no exception is thrown.
Please help me.Hi Avi,
I had already tried the thin Diriver but after yout help I try again.
With this thin driver, I received a SQLException which helps me.
As usual, there were a lot of different problems. The main one was that my default configuration do not use the jdbc/lib817 main jdbc/lib. There is a classe12.jar in these libs that are apparently different.
Finally, I obtain the connection with the "thin" driver.
Thank you very much Avi!

Oracle application server 10g and apex
Hi allm
Can someone show me a guide on how to use Oracle Application Server 10g with APEX. I'm currently using Oracle HTTP Server but decided to use OAS instead so that I can use the Report Server and the Oracle BI Publisher for the reports.
I'm currently using this guide (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/howtos/howto_useoas10g.html) but I can't seem to find the marvel.conf and the oracle_apache.conf.
Also, is it really necessary to use OAS instead of Oracle HTTP Server if I want to use Oracle BI Publisher?
Thanks.
Allen
Edited by: A.Sandiego on Sep 3, 2008 12:01 AMHi,
Thanks for the response.
Unfortunately I still get the same problem. Somehow I just can't find the marvel.conf anywhere in my machine. I setup my APEX not by using the companion cd but by downloading the apex_3.1.2 then running the apexins.sql. Then install the Oracle HTTP Server only and configured the dads.conf located in the ORACLE_HTTP_SERVER_HOME/Apache/Apache/mod_plsql/conf. It works perfectly with this.
I then installed Oracle Application Server 10g. I'm trying to figure out how to use this instead of the Oracle HTTP Server.
Thanks.

How to configure Oracle SSO for forms and apex
Hi All,
I am trying to configure oracle SSO for forms and apex using third party external authentication. Please help me how to configure. I a have tried all possible things
from web but I am not able to do it. Is there any doc or links are much appreciated.
Info: Some reason my oiddas web link is not working it used to work fine before and also the from /pls/orasso/ link I am not able to login may be because of my oiddas issue
ThanksHi Andreas,
Thanks you for your help. I am trying to implement third party external LDAP authentication for APEX and Forms.
So I started with OID and SSO setup to create external Partner Applications. Some reason my oid and sso web login links are not working. I didn't find any errors. I need some help in finding the problem and direction, I already read docs on web but no proper direction. I appreciate your help.

Hello,
I am upgrading EBS 11i to 12i, Discoverer 4 to 11. After completing ebs installation and upgrade successfully, I am now working on the Oracle Fusion piece of the upgrade.
I have installed
1. JDK
2. Repository Creation Utility - RCU (schema)
3. Weblogic - WLS 10.3.6
4. Oracle Fusion - Discoverer 11g Release 1 Patchset 1 11.1.1.2.0 PFRD
5. Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer 11g Patchset 11.1.1.6.0 - Patchset 13517084
6. Executed config.sh and it failed with but continued.
During the Configuration of Oracle Fusion with config.sh there was failure at with "fails at creating data sources" and accidentally proceeded and all seem to go well until after shutting down the servers when Weblogic Managed Server is unable to start.
The start log indicated: "weblogic.store.PersistentStoreFatalException: [Store:280105]The persistent file store "_WLS_WLS_DISCO" cannot open file _WLS_WLS_DISCO000000.DAT." and I have been unable to find a solution for this error?
See log file error at https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/15497130/oracle/ebs11/startManagedWebLogic.sh_nohup.out
If re-installation is my only option, then what are the steps to uninstall, and which components do I have to uninstall given that I had upgraded all the schemas involved?
MathiasHey,
You can always change the JDBC datasources in the Weblogic admin console . but have you recorded what is the specific error you got during the datasources creation .
I prefer...create a new user , give him sysdba privillages . Start RCU and create the DEV_DISCOVERER , DEV_DISCOVERER_PS schemas (prefix is your choice)
The Admin server will start . so go to admin console .
click services -> Data Sources
Check the data sources you have . edit each datasource and update the connection pool information .
after this you can start the Managed server WLS_DISCO
i believe this will solve this .........
if you still get issue again . you can try the link Using the WebLogic Persistent Store
Thanks

Oracle Database 10.2 and Client 10.2 installation problem
Hi Everybody,
I am trying to install Oracle Databse 10.2g and Oracle Client 10.2 on the same server(windows 2003). I have few queries :
- Can we install both on Same Server
- Shall be install in the same directory or each in differenct directory
- Does each oracle database and oracle client has it's on oracle/home path
I installed the Oracle database and check it was working fine, I have also login through "sqlplus "/as sysdba". It was ok, all the oracle services were running perfectly. But when I installed the oracle client on the same server then all the oracle services were stopped and even when I tried to restarted manualy then got error, local user cannot start the service. Aslo not able to login thrugh sqlplus.
Could you please give your expert views.
Thanks in advance.
HarishYou can have as many Oracle Homes as your require, but you should be aware that each new Oracle Home modifies PATH environment variable, so the database could have been working fine until the client was installed, which has modified the reference to the database home.
You could modify it back from the server advanced properties at the windows control panel.

HTTP Server - Win2K and Oracle 8.1.7 and 9iAS
I have a problem with the APACHE WEB SERVER on Windows 2000 Server. It does not come up - I get "error 1067 - process terminated unexpectedly". I have installed Oracle 8.1.7 and installed 9iAS with no errors, using the 101 Web Apps book. However, I get the above error. Also, when I go to a dos prompt, I got "Can't locate Cwd.pm in @INC (@INC contains: .) at (eval 1) line 1."
Many reboots and reinstalls later with no errors and perusing this site, I have had no luck - I am an expert now in installing and wiping clean of Oracle... I would appreciate if any of you can assist me over the edge (I mean, over the top)...
nullSo, here we are. I have Oracle 8.1.7 on the Windows 2000 server. I have tried everything, including dropping everything twice, trying to install 9iAS portal - then installing Portal 3.0.8. Even just trying to use the HTTP server from 8i. I continue to get the Error 1067 from the Win2K services trying to start the HTTP server. When I go to the prompt and run apache.exe from the apache\apache directory, I get a "Can't locate Cwd.pm in @INC (@INC contains: .) at (eval 1) line 1." message.

Install and config issues with Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer
For a while now I've been struggling with migrating a testing database to a newer version.
And right now I'm pretty much stuck at trying to configure Oracle Portal, Forms Reports and Discoverer
What I've got:
Windows server 2008 R2 64bit
Oracle 11g database
Java 6u27 64bit
JDK 1.6 64bit (using this after 1.7 ended up throwing out bugs while trying to start a weblogic server)
JDK 1.7 64bit
Weblogic 10.3.5 (or so i think - I've installed from the wls1035_generic.jar from the oracle website)
PFRD 11.1.1.2 with 11.1.1.3 installed over it, installed without config
and a hanging up configuration
Basically I've been trying to install PFRD (only forms, reports and enterprise manager from it actually) but it kept failing once it got to the configuration stage, so I installed without config, applied 11.1.1.3 and now trying to run the config manually with the good old \bin\config.bat
Result - the config froze for approx.18 hours then failed
There isn't much useful info I could deduct from the logs, mostly just says one or more configuration parts failed. At one place it mentions trying to set up a domain and starting up an adminserver for it - and apparently that's where it hangs up and finally times out and fails.
I'm a little clueless what to do about it as the logs don't say anything else of use I could understand. Any ideas there?Trying the step by step, the only difference between that and what i do seems to be the file copying (which I can't do - there is no windows\extra\ directory anywhere, the files mentionned seem to already be on their places and either only there, or exactly the same) and clistering
So far the news ain't good - the config process hangs on creating domain ->Step Creating Domain started
It isn't frozen per se - the process doesn't use up any processor time, memory consumption within bounds, it reacts to button clicks and all..it just doesn't do anything concerning the said domain
the last thing the .out file shows:
Creating a new AdminServer Object ...

Upload text file to oracle table with checking and aggregation
Hi Friends,
I am new to ODI. I have encountered a problem which is specific to ODI 11G (11.1.1.6.3) to upload text file to oracle table with checking and aggregation. Would you please teach me how to implement the following requirement in ODI 11G?
Input text file a:
staffCode, staffCat, status, data
input text file b:
staffCodeStart, staffCodeEnd, staffCat
temp output oracle table c:
staffCat, data
output oracle table d:
staffCat, data
order:
a.staffCode, a.staffCat, a.status
filter:
a.status = ‘active’
join:
a left outerjoin b on a.staffCode between b.staffCodeStart and b.staffCodeEnd
insert temp table c:
c.staffCat = if b.staffCat is not null then b.staffCat else a.staffCat
c.data = a.data
insert table d:
if c.staffCat between 99 and 1000 then d.staffCat = c.staffCat, d.data = sum(c.data)
else d.staffCat = c.staffCat, d.data = LAST(c.data)
Any help on fixing this is highly appreciated. Thanks!!
Thanks,
ChrisDear Santy,
Many thanks for your prompt reply. May I have more information about the LAST or SUM step?
I was successful to create and run the following interfaces p and q
1. Drag text file a to a newly created interface panel p
2. Filter text file a : a.status = ‘active’
3. Lookup text file a to text file b : a.staffCode between b.staffCodeStart and b.staffCodeEnd
4. Drag oracle temp table c to interface panel p
5. Set c.staffCat : CASE WHEN b.staffCat IS NULL THEN a.staffCat ELSE b.staffCat END
6. Set c.data : a.data
7. Drag oracle temp table c to a newly created interface panel q
8. Drag oracle table d to interface panel q
9. Set UK to d.staffCat
10. Set Distinct Rows to table d
11. Set d.staffCat = c.staffCat
12. Set d.data = SUM(c.data)
However, the interface q should be more than that:
If c.staffCat is between 99 and 1000, then d.data = the last record c.data; else d.data = sum(c.data)
Would you please teach me how to do the LAST or SUM steps? Moreover, can interface p and interface q be combined to one interface and do not use the temp table c? Millions thanks!

Oracle 8.1.5 and jdk 1.2.2
We work on Unix Solaris 2.7, Oracle 8.1.5
and a JDK 1.1.8.
We'd like to upgrade to JDK 1.2.2 .
Is it enough to change the only drivers , using the 8.1.6.0.1 release (jdbc816jdk12-sol_01.zip+ nls_charset12_01.zip ) ??
Or should I apply other upgrades from 8.1.5 to 8.1.6 ???Oracle8iR2's JDBC works fine with Oracle8.1.5.
You can download the new JDBC driver.

Hello,
I have oracle 8.1.6 64 bit and oracle 10.2.0.2.0 64 bit
running on the same hp UX 11i 64-bit machine
I have installed Tuxedo 8.0 32bit on the same machine.
I have a working tuxedo 8.0 environment running against the 8.1.6 oracle
database
in the Tuxedo .../udataobj/RM file I have for the 8.1.6 environment the string
Oracle_XA:xaosw:-L${ORACLE_HOME}/lib -lclntsh
In oracle 8.1.6 home there are directories lib and lib64
but in oracle 10.2.0.2.0 home there are directories
lib and lib32
what string should I use for the oracle 10.2.0.2.0?
Oracle_XA:xaosw:-L${ORACLE_HOME}/lib32 -lclntsh maybe???
Must the string in the RM file for oracle always begin with the string
Oracle_XA?
If so is, possible at all to run the the binaries of one Tuxedo installation
against two different databases versions because the RM strings are similar in
the beginning but in 8.1.6 refer to the lib directory and in 10.2.0.2.0 refer
to the lib32 directory ?
Or do I need to have two installations of tuxedo8.0 binaries on the machine?
I have tried to for 10.2.0.2.0 the line (the Ora10_XA is only a try...)
Ora10_XA:xaosw:-L${ORACLE_HOME}/lib32 -lclntsh
in the RM file but when starting tuxedo I get:
$ cat /mnt04/edu/ressu/bin/xa_NULL06092006.trc
ORACLE XA: Version 10.2.0.1.0. RM name = 'Oracle_XA'.
111035.16584.0:
xaogetmod: XAER_INVAL; Invalid xa_info string.
Any comments on the matter appreciated.
rgds,
JyriJyri,
The information before the first colon in the $TUXDIR/udataobj/RM file is
only used by the buildtms, buildserver, and buildclient programs to find the
line corresponding to the value of the -r option, so it should be OK to
specify different values for Oracle 8.1.6 and Oracle 10.2.0.2.0.
The information specfied in the OPENINFO string in the *GROUPS section of
the TUXCONFIG file must be of the form
OPENINFO="ORACLE_XA:Oracle_XA+...."
The strings ORACLE_XA and Oracle_XA cannot be changed, except for case. The
"...." can be replaced with parameters such as
SqlNet=NAMESesTm=100+LogDir=.+MaxCur=5 or whatever is used in your
applicatino. The "xaogetmod: XAER_INVAL: Invalid xa_info string" error you
are getting is due to an incorrect OPENINFO parameter.
If you are running a 32-bit version of Tuxedo you must link with the
${ORACLE_HOME}/lib32 library on 10gR2; if you are using a 64-bit version of
Tuxedo you must link with ${ORACLE_HOME}/lib library. The procedure is
similar for Oracle 8 except that it seems that the lib directory may be the
32-bit library in that version of Oracle.
32-bit and 64-bit binaries cannot be mixed under a single TUXDIR, but it is
possible to use multiple RMs or multiple versions of the same RM on the same
machine.
The syntax of the open string and the list of libraries to link with is
specified in the "Oracle Database Application Developer's Guide -
Fundamentals" in the "Developing Applications with Oracle XA" chapter.

Hello,
I have oracle 8.1.6 64 bit and oracle 10.2.0.2.0 64 bit
running on the same hp UX 11i 64-bit machine
I have installed Tuxedo 8.0 32bit on the same machine.
I have a working tuxedo 8.0 environment running against the 8.1.6 oracle
database
in the Tuxedo .../udataobj/RM file I have for the 8.1.6 environment the
string
Oracle_XA:xaosw:-L${ORACLE_HOME}/lib -lclntsh
In oracle 8.1.6 home there are directories lib and lib64
but in oracle 10.2.0.2.0 home there are directories
lib and lib32
what string should I use for the oracle 10.2.0.2.0?
Oracle_XA:xaosw:-L${ORACLE_HOME}/lib32 -lclntsh maybe???
Must the string in the RM file for oracle always begin with the string
Oracle_XA?
If so is, possible at all to run the the binaries of one Tuxedo
installation
against two different databases versions because the RM strings are
similar in
the beginning but in 8.1.6 refer to the lib directory and in 10.2.0.2.0
refer
to the lib32 directory ?
Or do I need to have two installations of tuxedo8.0 binaries on the
machine?
I have tried to for 10.2.0.2.0 the line (the Ora10_XA is only a try...)
Ora10_XA:xaosw:-L${ORACLE_HOME}/lib32 -lclntsh
in the RM file but when starting tuxedo I get:
$ cat /mnt04/edu/ressu/bin/xa_NULL06092006.trc
ORACLE XA: Version 10.2.0.1.0. RM name = 'Oracle_XA'.
111035.16584.0:
xaogetmod: XAER_INVAL; Invalid xa_info string.
Any comments on the matter appreciated.

Oracle Client 64-bit and Oracle Client 32-bit on the same server
Hi,
I have a Windows 2008 server 64-bit with Oracle Client 64-bit and Oracle Client 32-bit installed on different directories (D:\Oracle and D:\Oracle32)
Is it possible to define for certain applications to use the TNSNAMES entry from the 64-bit Oracle Client
and for other applications to use the TNSNAMES entry from the 32-bit Oracle Client
Once I installed the Oracle Client 32-bit (Oracle Client 64-bit version was already installed) and restarted the server I performed a TNSPING and it defaulted to the Oracle Client 32-bit installation path
Thanks,
BarryHello,
When you install a new client on a server, it will update the PATH variable, and add the ORACLE_HOME\bin path to it, at the first place. That explains why the tnsping use the last installed ORACLE_HOME.
What you can do if you want only to change the default path to the tnsnames is to set the environment variable TNS_ADMIN to the path where the tnsnames you want to use is located. You can modify this variable in your application if you want to use another tnsnames.
If you want switch from 32 bits to 64 bits client, then you have to modify the PATH variable.
Hope this will help.
Best regards,

Adding one day to a oracle.jbo.domain.Date and truncating the time part
JDev 11.1.1.4.0
Hello
I need to add a day to oracle.jbo.domain.Date and get back a oracle.jbo.domain.Date without the time part.
So far I've got
Date valueDate = (Date)rowCpt.getAttribute("ValueDate");
Calendar cal = Calendar.getInstance();
cal.setTime(new java.util.Date(valueDate.timestampValue().getTime()));
cal.add(Calendar.DATE, 1);
Date newDate = new oracle.jbo.domain.Date(new Timestamp(cal.getTime().getTime()));This adds 1 day to the date but keeps the time part of the date.
How do I get rid of the time part of the date ?
Thanks
PaulThe Calendar class allows you to set or clear each field.
Date valueDate = (Date)rowCpt.getAttribute("ValueDate");
Calendar cal = Calendar.getInstance();
cal.setTime(new java.util.Date(valueDate.timestampValue().getTime()));
cal.add(Calendar.DATE, 1);
cal.clear(Calendar.HOUR);
cal.clear(Calendar.MINUTE);
cal.clear(Calendar.SECOND);
cal.clear(Calendar.MILLISECOND);
Date newDate = new oracle.jbo.domain.Date(cal.getTimeInMillis());should work.
