Oracle Application Server for SLES Linux error when install
I try install Oracle Application Server Infrastructure (as_linux_x86_portal_wireless_101202) on SLES:
1. I install orarun package.
2. Install patch 3167528 - remove entries from the "/etc/services"
error when install - the OPMN process manager failed to start.
I read opmn/logs: can't load shared library libdb.so.2...
I check /usr/bin/libdb.so and found libdb-4.3.so
I create simbolik link libdb.so.2 to libdb-4.3.so and retry install oracle Application Server Infrastructure, but have this error again.
I try install Oracle Application Server Infrastructure on several linux distribs, but have this error again adn again..
how I can fix this error? help mee pls..
I think that you need to download a patch for that error, this patch is just a library that you need create a link to it.

Oracle Application Server 10.1.3, error when deploying entity bean

What am I missing? Note that on 9.0.4.2 and its previous versions the deployment was successful.We use EJB2.0 and as per the specifications entity class and getters/setters should be abstract. This is what we have. I have verified the dtd used in ejb-jars and it has references to the correct version. Here is an example <!DOCTYPE ejb-jar PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Enterprise JavaBeans 2.0//EN" "http://java.sun.com/dtd/ejb-jar_2_0.dtd">. Also the tag <cmp-version>2.x</cmp-version> is included for all the entity beans.
Now I am just curious to know if anyone has tried deploying Entity Beans 2.0 on a 10.1.3? and if so was the deployment successful? -
Oracle application server 10.1.3.1.0 install - JAVA error
Hi Everyone,
I am trying to Install Oracle Application Server 10.1.3.1.0 on 32 bit Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.8 (Tikanga)
When running the Installer, I use the -ignoreSysPrereqs option because 10.1.3.1.0 is only supported with Linux Server 4, I believe. But I know people have installed it on Linux 5.7 and 5.8
anyways, Oracle application server gets installed and asks me to run root.sh. I run root.sh and then hit the OK button to proceed,
At this point, it tries to run the configuration assistant and fails right away with the following error:

Any ideas? am i missing a library or environment variable?
ThanksI have now set the following environment variables

ORACLE_HOME

and now when I try to run opmnctl startall, I get:

Oracle Application Server cluster on Linux - Help Pls
Hi,
I am having two seperate Linux machines on which I am trying to install Oracle Application Server. I need to cluster both the IAS installations. What are the different ways I could do it? I have read a couple of documentation which says that I need a hardware cluster to do it. Is it possible to create an IAS cluster without a hardware cluster.
Would creating a farm using file repository and then adding two instances of two seperate Linux machines be enough for clustering? While trying to do so, I am not able to add the second linux machine's file repository in the web farm. I checked if the ports are open. All the ports are open. Still I am not able to add the second instance as part of the farm.
Pls help.
Thanks,
VidyaHello Vidya,
it depends on what you want to use with Oracle AS.
If you only installed the Java Edition (J2EE/WebCache installation type) then you don't need a HW cluster. Yes you only have to install a managed cluster based on a file based repository.
How did you add the nodes to the farm?
Install on both nodes the Java Edition. Be aware of that
you checked during the installation the file based repository.
For node 1 execute the following commandos on Linux:
1.) dcmctl getRepositoryId
2.) dcmctl joinFarm âr <repositoryId> where <repositoryId> is the ID which you get in step 1
For node 2 execute the following:
3.) dcmctl joinFarm âr <repositoryId> where <repositoryId> is the ID which you get in step 1
After that you should see in Oracle AS Control (web based Enterprise Manager) both nodes in the farm.
Then create a cluster and join the AS instances to the cluster. Do this via the web based console.

Where is the Oracle Application Server for Apex 3.2.1?
Hi, I feel ashamed asking this, but I want to know where to download the Application Server for Apex 3.2.1. Apex is installed in a DataBase 10gR1 and the O.S. where I will install the Application Server is RedHat
I think it is here
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/ias/downloads/index.html
But there is a lot of links and things to download and I don't even know if it will work because it is Release 3 and the DataBase is Release 1, but I tried downloading the "Oracle 10gR3 Companion (10.1.3.x) CD", but after running the installer in the disk1, I found that the Oracle HTTP Server that it would install does not include mod_plsql and I know I need it.
So, which one should I download, or where can I find it?

Strictly speaking you do not need Application Server or OHS for running Apex, you have an option in ApexListener. If it is a small installation then stick to EPG that comes built-in.
Try downloading the Oracle HTTP Server from here . You will need to check the commercial aspects yourself as OHS is not a free software for Production environment, AFAIK.

How to start Oracle Application Server 10g on Linux
Hi,
I have installed the Oracle Appliacion server and Infrastructure server on Linux. Both I have installed under with Diff. folder
Can some one please tell me how to start / stop Appliacion server and Infrastructure server on Linux
We are going to use the these with Oracle EBS 11.5.10.2 .
Oracle EBS 11.5.10.2 installed in the same Linux server under diff. folder
Can some one please guide me.
Thanks,You can do as rizla said or go another route.
We setup profiles to use for all of the oracle homes. Then in the scripts we call the profiles. Easier to migrate and manage in my opinion if you have multiple oracle homes. You can then use profiles when ssh'd into the boxes, too. Both ways will work.
Example:
Script which you can chkconfig.
#!/bin/sh
# oracle_collabInfra
# This shell script takes care of starting and stopping Oracle Collab Infra instance.
#chkconfig: 345 96 14
# Source function library.

Oracle Application Server 10g Staging - export error - Urgent
Dear All,
I am trying to stage a AS 10g test environment from a production environment in a solaris environment, i am following the following document
http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_19/core.1012/b13995/prodtest.htm
I am at the step 4 b. trying to export the schemas i am getting the following error
EXP-00056: ORACLE error 6550 encountered ORA-06550: line 1, column 41:PLS-00302: component 'SET_NO_OUTLINES' must be declared ORA-06550: line 1, column 15: PL/SQL: Statement ignoredEXP-00000: Export terminated unsuccessfully
the reason is that i have two oracle homes one for Oracle 10g database and AS infrastructure database 10g.
The version of my Oracle 10g database is 10.2.0.4.0 and the AS database is 10.1.0.5.0, so when i am invoking the exp its of version 10.2.0.4.0 and as my AS database is of lower version its throwing error.
I am executing the exp from my AS home directory 'PRODUCTION_INFRA_HOME/bin/' i dont know why still the exp is of version 10.2.0.4 and not 10.1.0.5.0, i have even set the ORACLE_HOME to my PRODUCTION_INFRA_HOME for the session, still the error persists,
kindly help as i am unable to proceed any further because of this,
thanks in advance
Edited by: user10243788 on Oct 26, 2009 2:12 AMYes, expected behavior. As per documentation, the query should be executed as database user PORTAL instead of SYS :
To list all the schemas, run the following query from SQL*Plus in the PORTAL schema:
SET LINESIZE 132
SELECT USERNAME, DEFAULT_TABLESPACE, TEMPORARY_TABLESPACE FROM DBA_USERS
WHERE USERNAME IN (user, user||'_PUBLIC', user||'_DEMO', user||'_APP', 'DISCOVERER5')
OR USERNAME IN (SELECT DISTINCT OWNER
FROM WWAPP_APPLICATION$
WHERE NAME != 'WWV_SYSTEM')
ORDER BY USERNAME;
You can of course also change the query to prefix WWAPP_APPLICATION$ with the PORTAL account and execute it as SYS :
SELECT USERNAME, DEFAULT_TABLESPACE, TEMPORARY_TABLESPACE FROM DBA_USERS
WHERE USERNAME IN (user, user||'_PUBLIC', user||'_DEMO', user||'_APP', 'DISCOVERER5')
OR USERNAME IN (SELECT DISTINCT OWNER
FROM PORTAL.WWAPP_APPLICATION$
WHERE NAME != 'WWV_SYSTEM')
ORDER BY USERNAME;
Thanks,

Borland VisiBroker for java meet error when Installed Oracle 8i(V8.1.6)
Oracle modified some register key value of Java Runtime
Evironment which result in Java2IDL.exe's runninng error. I
fixed the value in /software/javasoft/java runtime environment
and reset the currentversion key to 1.3. Oralce use jre1.1.7.
Can oracle meet errors when change it to sun jre1.3.1? May
upgrade oracle jre1.1.7 to high version ? Tell me how to. Please
tell me where to download If Oracle can't use Sun JRE1.3 . How
can I deal with this problem and let VisiBroker for java and
VisiBroker for C++ work well?
Best RegardsHi,
I am not aware of a sqlplus v8 for macosx so the nonexistence of it might be your problem. The way I remember it, there are sqlnet libs that are usable from other apps. What you could do is install the v9.2 developers release. This contains sqlplus and in that case just make sure the directory containing sqlplus is in your PATH (you also need a few other environment variables; they are set in DBENV).

RW-20004 no installs found for this host Error when installing Apps tier
Hello:
Trying to install 12.1.1 on a linux x64 OS. Following is my current OS Setup:
1) Have 2 Instances or RHEL 5 Update 4 x64 each named as follows: oalin12db.apps.local & oalin12mt.apps.local
2) Both have multi user setups as follows:
a) user: oracle (501), group dba (503)
b) user: applmgr (502), group dba (503)
3) Installation of DB node successful for a Vision Instance with SID=VISN
4) Getting error "RW-20004 no installs found for this host" on apps tier. Does not matter if I use host:SID:port or copy the actual config file over and point rapidwiz to it, I get the same error.
5) checked everything as per metalink notes 605677.1 and 444870.1.
6) SELinux on Permissive mode on both instances for now.
7) Installation stage directory is local to the DB instance and is setup as an nfs mount onto the apps tier.
Here's how my config_VISN.txt file looks.

Capacity sizing document for Forms on iAS(Oracle Application Server)
Hi,
I need to know from where I can get Capacity planning document for Forms on Oracle Application Server for Intel/Solaris/Aix arch.Please Advise.
Regards,
NomanHi,
we have several developers working with developer suite 10g. Our OAS runs on Linux as yours. All our developers work locally using windows-pc's. We have a samba share we use to move the developed sources to the linux box. On the linux box with have some scirpts to compile the sources and move them to the runtime-directory.
The final integration test in then done using the installed application on the oas.
This works without having any problems for more two years now.
btw: Be aware of the problems you will run into when moving an application from windows to linux:
-> All filename ar Case-sensitive
-> the writing of module-names in OPEN_FORM, NEW_FORM, CALL_FORM must match exactly the filename (in other words: call_form, open_form and new_form is also case-sensitive
-> Attached librarys are also case-sensitive, even if there are shown in uppercase in the module-navigator.
hope this helps.

Installing Oracle Application Server 10.2 for Oracle Database Lite
Can anybody please tell me how to install oracle application server 10.2 for oracle database lite (i use oracle database lite for my final project). I use wi-fi connection to synchronize between pda and my laptop as server. Should i install oracle internet directory before installing oracle application server? I have difficulties in installing application server, what are the options should i take in every page of installation? Thanks before.
Install with the base, do not select any other options. Only choose webcache if you require the use of a software load balancer.

Client printer on oracle application server
Hi all.
I configured my own system on oracle application server and I connected my printer on client machine.
When I wanted to print through the application server on the printer I did not print.
Please could anyone shows me where is the error file (for the printer) located in oracle application server to check the error.
byNo. Not only it isn't certified, but it is also impossible to run forms compiled with the 11g compiler with the 10g runtime. For 11g there is a install bundle for the developer suite / application server.

If you are installing 10gR2 (v10.1.2.x) have you taken a look at point #70 in "Table 2 Additional Information for Certified Platforms" section here?
