Oracle AS wireless can identify the browser type by itself??

Hi All,
I have two applications deployed in the Oracle 10g portal. One application is suitable for web browser (HTTP protocol) and another one is for PDA browser (WAP protocol). The request coming from both the browsers are directed through Oracle AS wireless 10g.
If a request comes from web browser, then the request should be automatically directed to the appropriate application and the same thing should happen for the request coming from the PDA browser also. So is it possible for the Oracle AS wireless to automatically redirect the request to the appropriate application?
For example, when we type http://www.hotmail.com in a web browser and when the same request is given in a PDA browser, the page which comes up is totally different in both the cases, but the same URL can be used. When you type the same URL in PDA browser, the request is automatically redirected to http://mobile.hotmail.com . Like this I want only one URL to be used to access both the deployed applications. The application server should direct the request according to the client browser type.
So how can I achieve this by using Oracle AS wireless and Portal combination?

Hi Shrikant,
OracleAS Wireless already adapts the response to the device via transformers. See Oracle® Application Server Wireless Administrator's Guide for details.
You could also use something like 'RewriteCond %{HTTP_USER_AGENT}' in OHS. See http://httpd.apache.org/docs/1.3/misc/rewriteguide.html for details on that.

If you see the BP sales area data in transaction BP, In billing tab you maintain the currency for a customer which is default currency when you create a sales order.

Hi,
You need to use two tables.
First use VBFA. Enter the sales order number in the field Predecessar and the value M in SubCt field. This will give all the billing document number for the sales order items.
Then use the billing document numbers in table VBRK, where in you can get the billing document type.

You cannot save word files to pdf using reader. When you click a link (in Reader or in the browser using the Reader plugin) you open the url in your browser (what browser)? We need detailed information to help.

How to identify the media type 32 or 64 bit from installed oracle client

hi guys,
I have oracle client 11g r2 installed in my machine which is a AIX. but not sure of the media type. 32 or 64 bit. this information is required further to proceed in my further application compatability.
tilll the previous release there was many hints like.. lib and lib32 in various locations. but not in 11g r2 i guess.
can someone please help me to find out this piece of information..

I need to identify the filetype of a file in my disc.
I watched over internet and i've found this good site:

I have also looked over internet for some ready class that identify different file types, and I have found FFident:

Hi You can use VOV8 for single sale order change If you want mass change u can use MASS t code
For Billing document you can use VTFL
For Mass Change refer below
There is transaction MASS which can be used to carry out mass changes in the sales order and other objects.
Mass Maintenance: (Use to change multiple fields in multiple documents at the same time). I have done mass change for customers; and orders should work the same way too.
1) Try t-code [MASS] and select sales orders & execute
2) Choose the table or tables for your selection criteria and also for fields you want to change.
Then execute. (suppose your selection criteria fields are from "sales order header data" table and the field you want to change, is in "item data" table)
3) Put in the sales documents(21000000, 21000001) you want to change and also the items(10) you want to change.
- click on " choose selection fields" button
- From the Pool, move the fields you want to the "select fields" using arrows.
4)From mass maintenace menu, click on "Enter new field values"
-click on "sales order item data" tab and choose the field you want to change.
(for example. I want to change plant for item 10)
-enter the new value (of the plant to be)
-click on "Adopt" and execute
5)In "sales order item data" tab, you see the new value of the plant you entered at the top and the old values of item 10 are below.
-click on "change field values" button. you see all the old values are changed to new values.
-save
Note: it will take some time depending on how many records you have.
Check: Go to [SM37] and see the status of the job you are running and once finished, export the spool file to a spreadsheet.
Before you do mass maintenance, go to the particular table in [se16] and get the results. Then do the mass maintenance and compare the results with this one. If they match, then you are good to go.
Note: If you have any user exits that affect the results, ask them to deactivate the MODCHECKS still you are done with mass maintenance & activate them again.

Why does the Welcome to firefox tab open with my google tab every time I open the browser? And why can't the browser hold any add-ons I downloaded? I loose then when I close the browser, even tool bars have to be reinstalled every time I open the browser

Every time I open the browser the Welcome to Firefox tab is the first tab, then a second tab opens and thats my google, then a 3rd tab opens for me to reinstall my toolbar. This has been happening for a good year. Updates have not fixed it. Others have this problem. I did a search for an answer, the question is out there but no answer. Now if I go into add ons and add a background Theme or an extension it all is gone when I exit the browser. When I open the browser again I get all 3 tabs and have to install my toolbar again. I DO NOT want to reinstall as I will loose all my saved data, passwords, bookmarks, everything! I have had this computer for a year, Windows Vista x64 bit. Its not the computer, it's the browser. Hi, if you have a parser that is only DOM level 2 compliant then there is no way to get at the xml declaration via the JAXP and org.w3c.dom apis. It is expected that DOM level 3 will have the functionality in the Document interface to access the xml declaration attributes like the encoding. I don't know if there are any DOM level 3 parsers available, check xml.apache.org to look at the xerces parsers. However as xml files are text files you could right a program using java.io package to look for the <?xml version ...> tag and then to search that line for the encoding.

Oracle 11g - how to disable the Static Type-Checking of XQuery Expressions

I loaded XML files using pl/sql in Oracle 10 suggesfully and now after upgrading to 11g the thing doesn't work anymore.
I believe the problem has to do with the DTD, the xml files structure is not as specified in the DTD. I did get away in Oracle 10 issuing the alter session set events ='31156 trace name context forever, level 2' in the code. Now this doesn't seem to have any effect. When loading the xml file I get the following error message
"ORA-19276 XPST0005 - Xpath step specifies an invalid element/attribute name"
How can I skip the checking as I can't change the DTD's.

A DTD is a set of rules that define the allowable structure of an XML document. DTDs are text files that derive their format from SGML and
can be associated with an XML document either by using the <code>DOCTYPE</code> element or by using an external file through a DOCTYPE

Oracle XML DB also supports external DTD definitions if they are stored in Oracle XML DB Repository. Applications needing to process an

our customer wants to archive some historical data to another db to keep the production database small, but the historical data must be accessible as if it reside in the production database. IBM OPTIM can do this. any oracle option/features to match OPTIM?

The best way to keep your data accessible is to keep it in the database. With Oracle, you can allocate your data to the appropriate storage tiers according to your performance and cost requirements. You use the partitioning option to do this, but the cost saved by using cheap disks for your older, infrequently accessed data can more than make up for the cost of the partitioning option. And the ILM Assistant which facilitates your use of storage tiers is free.
Because of the magic of partitioning, all of your data is accessible all of the time, performance is optimized because queries that exclude the older data never look at the older partitions, and cost is minimized because you only store your hottest, most frequently used data on a minimal number of fast disks.

I can maximize the browser, or minimize it, but the in between setting minimized after a reboot

FF7, had to reboot due to another program. After reboot when I open FF it shows minimized. I can left click on it and maximize, but I cannot then re-size it.

Make sure that the server is configured properly and sends the file with a supported MIME type.

How to identify the object type in xpress

In ui global.startdate is evalued with Date object type when use display class as DatePicker. After save, the global.startdate is String type. The other place in the code has use this global.startdate to convert to special date string. The problem is how to detect what data type the global.startdate is at one particular moment?

In my case I do the following.
1. Use the following rule to display the date in the desired format.

At any point in time if one wants to know, one explicity needs to convert the java.util.Date obtained from datepicker using dateToString method in the Util class.

When I try to launch Firefox I get the message, "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator". The only way I can launch the browser is to re-install it every time.

I cannot find any obvious restrictions on the computer. In the Control Panel under Set Program Access and Defaults, Enable Access to This Program is checked.
