Oracle BIP API/WebService problem

Hi all,
I have some doubts regarding the usage of new Oracle BIP 11g .
1.In BIP Admin Dev Guide 11.1.1.pdf ,the usage of BIP is only given using API's,so does that mean that the WebServices of BIP like
PublicReportService is of no use.Please give me the solution :
Can I use the webService for Delivery of multiple document using webservice,if YES,then HOW?
2.For delivery of multiple documents ,while attaching Documents with the mail,can i do it using webService?
Thanks In Advance,
Mandeep

But my question is ,while delivering the multiple Document is a same mail,how can i do multiple attachements using web services?

  • Assigning roles to LDAP users through BIP API

    Hi.
    My customer has BIP 11g and OIM 9.1.0.2 running on the same weblogic server (11g). Both authenticate against the same LDAP server.
    One of our desired next steps is to provision from OIM the BIP roles to each LDAP user so every user gets the correct roles (and access to the correct reports) according to the groups he has on OIM.
    I've been searching for info regarding this without success. The BIP API doc does not show any info about assigning roles to users.
    We don't need to manage LDAP users, BIP roles, etc... through OIM. We only need to assign BIP roles to LDAP users.
    Is it possible to make that assignments through BIP API?
    If not, any other ideas? New ideas or different approaches are welcome.
    Thanks in advance.

    In OBIEE 11g which includes BIP the application roles are applied to LDAP users and groups using the Enterprise Manager Fusion Control.
    During the upgrade process from OBIEE 10g to OBIEE 11g the groups do get assigned to these roles transparently so there must be some API to leverage this functionality.
    I would start there, http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/bi.1111/e10541/admin_api.htm
    There are no specific instructions on accomplishing what you seek but if you have some WLST or Java Skills you should be able to get something prototyped.
    Let me know if that helps.

  • How to  Instantiate Oracle BPM Process Webservice from the OSB

    Hi,
    In our project we have one requirement i.e Instantiate Oracle BPM Process Webservice from the OSB.After register BPM service in to OSB I am creating one Message flow to instantiate BPM Process.
    first call to startSession Operation, then use response of startSession operation is used as reqest for BPM process operation.
    Can u tell me how do we use response of startSession operation to the request of BPM process.
    Thanks in Advance.

    An easier way of instantiating a BPM process via a WS call is to set the authentication type to 'Username Token Profile' on your web service operation in BPM studio and then redeploy it. If you use this type of security on your bpm process operations you can start the process in one call instead of having to get a session first and then starting the process.
    Once you've updating the process, re-register the new process WSDL and business service with OSB (or import it manually) and you can just call the start process operation in one request (passing a username and password using the WS-UsernameToken method) without having to get a session first.
    Hope this all make sense,
    Mike.

  • How to solve Oracle SQL Developer connection problem ?

    Folks,
    Hello. I am using Oracle Database 11gR1. The Database Control Console https://localhost.localdomain:1158/em works correctly. I can create a Database and a table successfully.
    My OS is Linux and connects to internet successfully.
    In order to run SQL statements. we need to use Oracle SQL Developer. I connect Oracle SQL Developer in the following way:
    Connection Name: DB1 (this is my database name as well)
    Username: SYS (this is the user name I used to login to the Console)
    Password: SYS (this the password used to login to the Console)
    Connection Type: Basic
    Host Name: localhost
    Port: 1158
    SID: DB1 (this is created during installing the Database)
    But the error message comes up: "Status: Failure - IO exception Connection Reset."
    Can any folk tell me how to solve Oracle SQL Developer connection problem ?

    password: enter_your_correct_password given at the time of oracle installation
    role: select sysdba if you would connect as sysdba else select normal for users other than sys
    hostname: enter your oracle server hostname or ip address eg:- 192.168.11.12
    to find the hostname open terminal/command prompt in oracle installed machine
    type ---> hostname
    type ---->ping hostname
    you can find the ipaddress of the server
    port number: 1521 (default) ----> i guess , else check the port number in the tnsnames.ora file under your ORACLE_HOME/network/admin folder

    try it

  • Oracle Worklist API -- OWSM

    Hi,
    I am invoking SOA suite 11G (11.1.1.5) human task application (sits in one wls server domain) from a web application (sits in another wls domain) using oracle worklist api and showing the task details in my web app. I would like to do the user credentials validation at SOA application side by adding owsm username token policy to my composite application.
    So there are 2 questions:
    1.How do I pass (or construct) the username token details in worklist client class which resided in my web application?
    2. Will OWSM can check these user credentials against our own database table or always against the weblogic identity store?
    Please provide some inputs.
    Thanks,
    Cdhar

    Hi,
    i'm also trying to access the worklist from a java program, authentication using jazn xml works fine.
    IWorkflowServiceClient wfSvcClient =               WorkflowServiceClientFactory.getWorkflowServiceClient(WorkflowServiceClientFactory.REMOTE_CLIENT);
    ITaskQueryService querySvc = wfSvcClient.getTaskQueryService();
    IWorkflowContext ctx = querySvc.authenticate("jcooper",     "welcome1",
                             null, null);
    List queryColumns = new ArrayList();
                   queryColumns.add("TASKID");
                   queryColumns.add("TASKNUMBER");
                   queryColumns.add("TITLE");
                   List tasks = querySvc.queryTasks(ctx,queryColumns,
                             null, ITaskQueryService.ASSIGNMENT_FILTER_MY,
                             null, null, null, 0, 0);
    However querySvc.queryTasks always returns empty.
    I've tried to check the worklistapp, and the tasks are there.
    could somebody tell me what are the mistakes?
    Thanks in advance,

    Aasta,
    I have encountered this Exception before, it happened when i am returning a fault from my Main Process/Mediator.
    Since the fault can not go unhandled, it is thrown to the system and hence the oracle.sysman.emSDK.webservices.wsdlapi.SoapTestException: null exception is displayed.
    But if you have a handler/fault policy defined on the outside, the exception message will not be displayed.
    Hope this helps.

  • Oracle 11i API's

    Hello all,
    Can anybody say whether Oracle 11i suite of applciation come up with new API's instead of conventional interface tables to import legacy data.
    If yes, appreciate if somebidy can point me
    to right place for documentation.
    I looked at 11i documentation, it doesn't seem to be any new API's other than standrard interface tables.
    Syam.

    Look in the Oracle Manufacturing APIs and Open Interfaces Manual. Both the table-based APIs and the new process APIs are documented there.

  • Running Oracle seeded API from Custom Schema

    Hi All
    I have a custom schema and I need to call a Oracle standard API from this schema. When I try to initialize the session using fnd_global.apps_initialize I get the following error:
    ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
    ORA-06512: at "APPS.FND_CORE_LOG", line 25
    ORA-06512: at "APPS.FND_GLOBAL", line 104
    ORA-06512: at "APPS.FND_GLOBAL", line 1620
    ORA-06512: at "APPS.FND_GLOBAL", line 2170
    ORA-06512: at "APPS.FND_GLOBAL", line 2312
    ORA-06512: at "APPS.FND_GLOBAL", line 2250
    ORA-06512: at line 2
    I understand that this is an issue with GRANTS. However I have granted the EXECUTE ANY PROCEDURE and SELECT on all the underlying tables of this oracle package.
    Has anybody faced a similar situation. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank You.

    Hi,
    I understand that this is an issue with GRANTS. However I have granted the EXECUTE ANY PROCEDURE and SELECT on all the underlying tables of this oracle package.The error "ORA-00942: table or view does not exist" indicates that the custom schema owner cannot select from the underlying tables. Please review the packages code again and make sure that your custom user has select privileges (or check if any public synonym needs to be created).
    See eTRM website for details about those packages and the relevant tables -- http://etrm.oracle.com
    Thanks,
    Hussein

    BACKGROUND_DUMP_DEST
    Parameter type
    String
    Syntax
    BACKGROUND_DUMP_DEST = {pathname | directory}
    Default value
    Operating system-dependent
    Parameter class
    Dynamic: ALTER SYSTEM
    Range of values
    Any valid local path, directory, or disk
    BACKGROUND_DUMP_DEST specifies the pathname (directory or disc) where debugging trace files for the background processes (LGWR, DBWn, and so on) are written during Oracle operations.
    An alert file in the directory specified by BACKGROUND_DUMP_DEST logs significant database events and messages. Anything that affects the database instance or global database is recorded here. The alert file is a normal text file. Its filename is operating system-dependent. For platforms that support multiple instances, it takes the form alert_sid.log, where sid is the system identifier. This file grows slowly, but without limit, so you might want to delete it periodically. You can delete the file even when the database is running.
    See Also:

    Your operating system-specific Oracle documentation for the default value of this parameter
