Oracle DRM 11.1.2 ( WEB Version)

Hi Guys,
There is urgent requirement in my project of Oracle hyperion DRM 11.1.2(web version) knowledge. I have experienced in Hyperion MDM 9 and Hyperion DRM 11 version, but i am not familiar with Oracle Hyperion DRM 11 (web version).
So, i need a favour, can anyone tell me how to sync DRM 11(web version) with MDM 9 version environment. And what are the complexity we faced while working in Oracle DRM 11.1.2(web version) than the MDM ( 9 and 11 version).
Thanks.

This is a much simpler process than it used to be. There's quite a bit more to cover than I can do justice in a casual response, but as far as critical path items to bring up your new environment:
The latest version of the installer will allow you to point to a v11.1.1.2 database and will 'upgrade' this into your target database. If there are any interfaces or other important processes using the DRM API or WDK these will require some reengineering effort. You'll also want to revisit your import and export process to leverage external connections before running a full regression test suite.

    Pang,
guess that you want to start client side programs from Forms on the Web. There is a sample on OTN (host bean) that allow you to acces sthe client and start executables.

  • After install oracle 10g, enterprise manager web version, can not login

    Hi Guru,
I have installed oracle 10g on windows xp pro sp2 successfully, can use sqlplus to connect to DB, but when using IE to login enterprise manager web version port 1158, it failed. The login page came out, but when I keyed in the right userid/password ie sysman/pwd1234, the login screen just refreshed, nothing happen. but if I purposely key in wrong userid or password, the message "invalid userid or password" comes out.
Another "interesting" thing is, I can login web version isqlplus successfully using the same userid/password. but can not connect to web version isqlplus/dba, even I use user sys, also can not login.
Need your urgent help to solve this problem.

  • Could not load file or assembly 'Oracle.Web, Version=2.111.6.20

I am getting the following error whenever I try to run ANY .NET Web application. It looks like the ODP.NET installer pooched IIS.
Could not load file or assembly 'Oracle.Web, Version=2.111.6.20, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=89b483f429c47342' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
I searched for and copied the C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\client_1\ASP.NET\bin\2.x\Oracle.Web.dll file into C:\Windows\assembly, but that didn't help.
    TIA,
    Miles

One thing might be if the web server has multiple versions of Oracle installed, then check to see which is first in the path. Another would be that at the least IIS would need to be restarted after the Oracle install, for the path to take effect, possibly the whole machine would need a re-boot for this.

  • Oracle Discoverer report shows drilldown icon in Web version

    Hi ,
I am trying to create a new CROSS TAB Discoverer report. I made all my development done using the Discoverer desktop edition and is fine. When I saved in the database and showed the same report the User, in the Web Version, the report shows ' >' icon in all the cross tab headings and when the cursor is moved there, it gives an option to Drill down.
We have 3 fields which are selected but not shown in the report. It shows the drill down to those 3 fields.
    My questions is:
    1. I should not allow users to drill down. It should not show that option.
How to disable that option in the Web Version.
Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kiran Kesari

Yogini is correct, but the solution provided will remove drill capability for all users under all circumstances. This is a "shortcoming" of Disco. If you set up a hierarchy for the users to use for drilling, the users must have the drill out privilege. This has the additional effect of adding the "Drill to related..." feature to most (and I believe all) columns.

  • Oracle 10g R2 Enterprise Manager Web Interface doesn't see the database

Been at this a few days now... so I hope you can help.
    Windows XP (sp2 slipstreamed)
Logged in as "Administrator" to the local machine (not the domain)
I have downloaded Oracle 10g for Windows and have installed it using the Universal installer. The only parameter I changed was the default name of the database from orcl to ORAC (and given the problem I have had with the manager, that's turned out to be an appropriate name!). I set the passwords to be all the same and then let it run.
Before installation I logged in as "Administrator" and configured the environmental variables - oracle_home, oracle_sid, sid etc.
It installs, sqlplus client and isqlplus (the web version) both connect fine and so does the windows administrator snapin.
The only thing that refuses point blank to see the database is the Enterprise Manager.
The Enterprise Manager takes the SYS logon (as sysdba) quite happily and then it states:
    Error
java.lang.Exception: Exception in sending Request :: null
    Status Status Pending
    Status Pending Since Unavailable
    Last Known State
Nice friendly error message there Oracle... thanks
    So more digging
    emctl status dbconsole produces
    EM Daemon is not running.
    which seems to go with
    Clicking Startup/Shutdown gets me
Couldnot contact the agent. Verify that the url for the agent is null
Trying the preferences in the EM webpage
gets me "Io exception: Unknown host specified"
As near as I can figure, the "agent" is missing - but according to the documentation I have read dbconsole is all that is needed (I not running the grid computing bit).
    Ideas?

Hmmm no way to attach the error... but it a big error... this is what happened when I did the operations described this morning in the emoms.log
The same errors show on previous times I have tried to start EM

  • Programming the Oracle Database with Java and Web Services: sample chapter

This will be the first book devoted to Java in the Oracle Database: read the sample chapter @ http://www.oracle.com/technology/books/pdfs/mensah_ch1.pdf

    Thanks, Kuassi

    Hi Kuassi,
Thanks for letting us know that your book is available. I have been following one of your articles about "Virtualize Your Oracle Database with Web Services". More specifically "The Database as Web Services Consumer". I think that this is an area that has in the past been under estimated as to the potential benefits.
I am currently trying to develop a solution that consumes several interfaces with a couple of them being published web services, so an ideal solution. I have then spent the last three weeks having to read up about the architecture of Java in the database, Jpublisher and make sense of how it all works together.
I have got very close to getting one of the web services to work but failed due to using 10gR2 where all the java & libraries has moved to version 1.5. The solution is to load the jdk1.4.2 and configure jpublisher to use this. So far so good except this is not available on some platforms, Windows - 64 bit (not itanium).
The configuration is proving very challenging but will hopefully reap rewards.
(Thought I would give you some background to my experience).
Anyway my question to you is having looked at Jdeveloper it appears to do almost anything except consume services into the database, also with Java now being at version 1.5 outside the database for 10gR2 and supporting 1.4 inside, do you see some alignment of these in future database releases?
Finally off to buy your book now as no doubt there is a huge amount more to learn.
    Kind Regards

  • Poor Performance of Web Version..

Oracle says, Using a 3-tier architecture for your application improves the performance. Reason: Middle tier takes all burden of data fetching, storing & serving. But I've noticed that this is not true. When we are working on Desktop version its fast, be it opening the workbook, moving between worksheets, saving the workbook, etc. Moreover, 4i plus some times doesn't response after clicking save button & the only option is to close the session. Similarly sometimes when we cancel the running query it stops responding, although task manager says its running but actually its not.
I am searching for the answers to these Questions & many more like this.
Anyone has any ideas, please give your expert Opinions.
    Thanks

There are a couple of issues here:
    1. Scalability and performance are two separate issues. If you want to have many, hundreds or thousands of users, accessing your BI application, then having a three-tier setup is the most suitable architecture. A two-tier client-server architecture is not going to be able to scale up without huge investments in hardware.
    2. The second issue is performance for individual users. The inherent nature of web applications, where most of the processing and validation is done by the middle-tier, and requires a round-trip to the server, makes for comparatively slower performance. This is true not just for Discoverer but any web application. Innovations such as AJAX and more use of client-side scripting can offload some validations and page rendering to the browser, thereby increasing response times and the perceived performance of the application.
Now, coming to Discoverer 10gR2 (10.1.2), this is by far the most feature rich and performant release we have had of Discoverer. Most of the Desktop functionality has been added to the web versions, and additionally many other features not foud in Desktop. Furthermore, we made many improvements and bug fixes in the latest release: 10.1.2.48.18, which is available with the App Server 10gR2.
I would strongly advise you to take a close look at this release.
You can even download the software to give it a try.
    Thanks

  • Install Oracle 9i (9.2.0.1 version) 32 bit  on Windows 7 platform

Can Anybody tell me how to install Oracle 9i (9.2.0.1 version) 32 bit on Windows 7 platform?

Can you tell me which Oracle version install on Windows 7 platform?11gR2 - when it is released next year.
In the mean time, some people have reported 11gR1 (the one for Windows Vista or 2008) to work - mostly somewhat.
I'm not quite sure I understand the urgency to get to Windiows 7 in view of the fact that it is unsupported and potentially inoperative. What I mean is that I don't understand the logic of getting to Windows 7 (or Fedora 12) as the latest and greatest operating system if it does not fully support the applications that are needed for the business (or the classroom).
Would you please help me understand ...

  • My i web version is 2.0.4. Can I publish my i web site directly to a FTP server address?

After Apple stopped hosting with Mobile Me, I moved hosting for my i web built web site to Network solutions. I was told by a Network solutions technician that I can publish an updated iweb site directly to a FTP server address. But I do not see that as an option with my 2.0.4 i web version. Can I update my
version of i web? Or do I need to purchase a later version of i web for this function?

You can open your iWeb 2 site in iWeb 3 and continue as before with the addition of FTP. However you should be able to upload with no problem in CyberDuck or Transmit - both are easy to use and reliable. Note that when you publish to a local folder you should usually upload the contents of the folder to the server, not the folder itself, unless you want the folder name (which must have no spaces in it) to appear in the URL.
Cyberduck is free (donation requested): Transmit is $34 but I think better. You will need the server address (your hosting service can tell you that), and your username and password for that service.

  • Numbers web version -- menu bar suffers from "mystery meat" navigation. Tooltips perhaps?

The web version of Numbers (beta) is great, but the icons in the menu bar are a bit confusing until one gets accustomed to them. Surprisingly, hovering over the icons does not trigger a helpful tooltip, instead a new user is left wondering "what does this do, and what happens when I click it?" Typically labeled mystery meat navigation, links presented in this way often need additional explanation in the form of text or tooltips.
    Thx!

I agree with you.  One of the mystery meat icons is for sending feedback to Apple, which I suggest that you use since this is a user forum and Apple does not monitor it.

  • Oracle 9i and Windows XP home version
