can any one help me into, how to call custom workflow for work request approval.
or any one help me to where the workrequest approval is called in work request creation page in maintain super user responsibility.

Hi,
I have first created the message LOV input (using personalization) and then its Map. Here you go... for the steps involved
Message LOVInput id      - asset_desc
External LOV - /oracle/apps/eam/lov/webui/EAM_WR_ASSET_NUMBER_LOV
View Attribute     - RequestDetailsVO
View Instance     - DescriptiveText
LOV Map ID      - desc_map1
Criteria item     - asset_desc
Return Item     - asset_desc
LOV Map ID      - desc_map2
Return Item     - AssetNumber
After this When I try to return to application, it shows me the error...
oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: No data found for region (/oracle/apps/eam/regionMap/EAM_WR_WORK_REQUEST_DETAIL_PL.asset_desc).
I have even tried not giving View Attribute and View Instance (Since I have mentioned the "External LOV"), but only faced the same exception.
Please help.

Multiple approval for Oracle eAM Work request

Can anyone confirm Oracle has standard functionality of sequentinal apprvoal process for eAM Work request.
Our current Oracle eAM project has requirement of multiple approver for Work request. Multiple approver means sequential approval process. After first approver approves it should go to second approval and continues.
I know Oracle eAM Work order has sequential approval process, but i want to know the same funcionality available for Oracle eAM work request as well. If Oracle has the functionality please provide the details.
We are using Oracle R12 version.

What are the steps involved in configuring Oracle EBS R12 after installation is complete?
We have an empty oracle EBS R12 installed and up and running. We do not have anything configured.

I am finding eAM to be pretty interesting in the asset intensive environment. My implementations in shopping mall, metal and plastic manufacturing are quite interesting. It simply depends upon how you configure the system. It is a good package in my opinion

Work Requests do NOT use AME. Only 1-level approval is possible with Standard Functionality; NOT multi-level
Work Request Approval needs :
1. Oracle Workflow
2. Department Approver functionality
Here are the steps:-
1. Go to EAM parameters window. Under Work Request region uncheck the Auto Approve flag.
2. Define Primary Department Approver (Setup > Department Approver)

Oracle eAM Asset hierarchy

I have created a 4 level asset hierarchy tree with capital and rebuildable assets in it.I defined a maintenance activity with attribute shutdown required=yes. What I need is to specify this shutdown requirement to which level in the asset hierarchy, for example I need to say that an activity like overhauling for a motor requires not only shutting down the motor but also the parent machine. How can this be done

You will have to use Asset Tracking option I afraid.
There is no standard functionality of defining assets on Fixed Assets will do "magic" of copying over same asset details in EAM.

Oracle equivalent of SAP BAPI/RFC? Stored Procedures?

Hello all.
I am looking at the development of integrating our desktop application with Oracle. We would like to upload/download objects from Oracle EAM such as Assets, Work Orders, etc using ODP.NET.
We already have a similar connector to SAP. In this system, we use SAP RFCs in combination with the SAP .Net Connector. SAP RFCs are like a middleware layer that carries out similar functions to the GUI and can be called from .Net. EG you might have an RFC named RFC_CREATE_EQUI, which matches Create Equipment in the GUI. SAP contains many default RFCs covering most of its functions.
I would like to know if there is anything similar to SAP RFCs in Oracle? I believe that stored procedures could be similar, but there are no defaults stored in Oracle.
Or do we just have to access the DB directly with SQL? If so, how do we go about data verification? EG So that I cannot upload an Asset without an Asset Number.

EAM Change parent of an asset

How can I change the parent of an asset number defined in oracle EAM. Facing problem in editing/ deleting asset number in oracle EAM

Asset Parent can be maintained from Asset Configuration History on the Maintenance Web Home (Self-Service) side of EAM.
To remove a parent relationtionship:
1. Go to the Assets tab of Maintenance Web Home page.
2. Navigate to the asset to be changed. S
3. Click the radio button for the asset in the search list, select "Configuration History" in the View drop-down then click Go.
4. Click the Show Parents radio button then click Go.
5. Find the active parent (null end-date) in the parent history list then click the update icon (pencil) on that row
6. Enter the end-date for the Parent relationship then click Apply.
Once removed, you can assign a new parent. I suppose Oracle may end-date the current parent for you if you associate a new parent to it but I haven't tested this theory.

Unable to Navigate Organization in "Maintenance Super User" Responsibility (Eam Self Service Pages)

Iam learning Oracle EAM module, now i had a problem that i couldn't able to find EM1 Organziation in the LOV, though i have done Organziation access also, based on the Oracle support.

If you have the Organizations LOV empty, then you need to go to (Navigation) -Inventory (responsibility) > Setup > Organizations > Organizations Access. Here you need to define a new line for each organization you want to access from the EAM SS responsibility.

EAM - Could we stop updates to an Operation after Save?

Now in Oracle EAM 11i, even when a Work Order operation is saved in either SSWA or Forms, another person can go in and request materials.
Could we restrict this so that when an Operation is saved, no changes can be done.

[For testing now, I'm writing my code in PR and not in PFR to populate some thing while page loads.]*
I have extended my CO and tried many ways (from simple to little complex) but to no success.
Simpler way:

Dear Guys,
I found out a workaround for this case (If this helps others): :)
*1. Create a Message Text Input type field (representing each DFF segment) and map them to View Attribute (over which DFF was created) and VO instance.*
*2. In the extended CO, in PFR, get the handle of these created fields.*
*3. Set the values as required.*
Since these fields are mapped onto the same view attributes as DFF was, the data goes in fine.
But I still am hunting for the possibility of setting a single segment.
