Oracle portal import hangs - no errors

I was trying to Import a newly developed page group into production environment from development environment.
Running Script to Create an Export Dump File - no errors from portal or on
backend.
Running Script on Target System - No errors.
Running imported transport set through The Import Manager on target - doesn't
complete. Doesn't show any errors. It runs repeatedly and doesn't import any
objects.
Please note the same transportset imported on Testing without any errors.
### Steps to Reproduce Problem ###
I created a Test page group in development. Exported and ranthe generated script in export mode on the server. Moved the files to target and ran the script in
import mode. Ran the imported transport set through The Import Manager on
target system.
No errors at any stage and it doesn't import and it hangs there.

Hero,
The import log file indicates that import fails for trigger WWSBR_THAT_BRIUD_TRG while merging of items. This is a known issue.
Please look at bug 3228369.
This is due to a data corruption issue on SOURCE instance wherein there are pending entries in thingattributes table for
non-existing subtypeattributes.
Mentioned below are the steps that needs to be carried out:
i) Run the data cleanup script for 9023 (released via bug 3121103) in REPORT mode on source instance.
ii) The output file Data_Validation.txt will indicate whether there are any data corruptions.
iii) If any corruptions are identified then take a database backup, shutdown 902 Midtier and run the cleanup script in RUN mode on
source instance to get rid of such corruptions.
Then
iv) Export the pagegroups from source instance once again.
v) Remove the unsuccessully imported pagegroups from target instance using force_delete script.
vi) And import the new transport sets.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Pallav

  • Problem running Oracle Portal to Go (Oracle9i 1.0.2.0.0)

I have installed Oracle9i Application Server WE 1.0.2.0.0 Standard Edition on Windows2000 Professional Edition. I am getting problems regarding running Portal to Go.
The installer said that installation was successful. Moreover I have done the configuration tasks mentioned Oracle9i installation guide under post installation steps for Oracle9i.
But Oracle Portal to Go is not running and returning error message. Are there some other tasks still to perform to configure the Oracle Portal to Go Standard Edition?
Here it is a brief Description of what I have done with the installations process
System: Pentium II 500 MHZ with 256 MB RAM and 15 GB Hard Disk so enough space available for installations.
Windows 2000 professional was freshly installed
All pre installation tasks are done like paging file size is 896MB
Important Installation steps and points are as under (Standard Edition of Oracle 9i Application Server 1.0.2.0.0):
I followed all the steps given in Oracle 9i AS installation guide
On Windows 2000 Installer never asks for reboot before actually installing the Oracle 9i application server (Chapter 4 of installation guide: preparing system for installation: step5: page 5 of 25). So I manually reboot the system
During installation when I reached Database Access Descriptor (DAD) for Oracle Portal. In TNS connect string field for Apache listener Configuration I entered the same name (abc) (chapter 4 of installation guide: installing oracle 9i Application server: step2, 3: page 10,11 of 25) as I was going to use for my Global database name later at database Identification steps (chapter 4 of installation guide: installing oracle 9i Application server: step 4: page 12 of 25)
Note: In an other installation I left the same fields (TNS connect string) blank but of no use.
(Please let me know if I have made any mistake here)
When installation of Oracle9i AS reaches 100% installer opens a command prompt and displays
    ORA: 12541 TNS: No Listener
    Enter user name:
When I enter SYSTEM as a user name it displays
    Password:
I entered manager as password and then it displays
    ORA 12560: TNSProtocol adaptor error
And once again it asks for user name and password
I once again enter system as a user and manager as password.
(Please let me know if I have made any mistake here)
After 100% completion of the installation the configuration tools screen appears
(Chapter 4 of installation guide: installing oracle 9i Application server: step 10: page 17 of 25) and the following tasks are performed
    Net8 configuration Assistant succeeds
    Oracle database configuration assistant succeeds
When The Oracle portal 3.0 configuration Assistant Starts
I hold the installation steps for oracle portal for a while and do some database configuration tasks that are necessary (may be some are not) for installation of portal.
(Please let me know if I have made any mistake here)
    For example
Increase the table space size of Users (400 MB), and Temp (100MB) table spaces.
Validated invalid PL/SQL Modules with ULTRP.SQL script
(Please let me know if I have made any mistake here)
Installed dbms_job.sql package as it was mentioned in another guide (Oracle portal-to-Go installation Guide- Release1.0.2: Page 1: last line)
(Please let me know if I have made any mistake here)
    Stopped the database and listener
And did some changes as was asked in Oracle portal-to-Go installation Guide- Release1.0.2
Edited the init<SID>.ora file and set the following fields
    aq_tm_processes = 1
job_queue_processes = 4 (2 were recommended in guide but I left the already set values)
    job_queue_interval = 30
(Please let me know if I have made any mistake here)
Also I did the following too (though these are recommended for Internet file system)
opern_cursors = 300 (in installation guide it is asked 255 but I kept the already set value)
shared_pool_size = 52438800 (50M was suggested and this is more than that)
    processes = 200
(Please let me know if I have made any mistake here)
I started the database and listener
Proceeded the installation of Oracle Portal as is described in installation guide for Oracle 9i Application guide 1.0.2.0.0
And successfully completed the installation of Oracle Portal
There were no errors reported on the installer however when I read the installation log some errors were mentioned at the end of the file
Please see the attached log file.
I also completed all the post installation tasks at the end of chapter 4 of Oracle9i Application Server installation guide 1.0.2.0.0 except the configuration of Oracle Internet file system (is it necessary for running Oracle Portal to Go)
When I run the oracle portal to go the following situation is encountered
    Working: http://localhost/pls/portal30/admin_/dadentries.htm
    Error at: http://localhost/pls/portal30/portal30.home
Error: The preference path does not exist: Oracle.Portal.Page (WWC-51000)
(And this is the main source of confusion)
    Working: http://localhost/pls/portal30/admin_/gateway.htm?schema=portal30
    Working: http://et-wks-08:5555/invoke/wm.server.admin/adminPage
Are there any other guides and post installation steps still to follow to successfully run this Portal to Go or it is sufficient?
I can also send the installation logs of both Oracle 9i application server (installActions.log and installActions2001-05-28_03-50-56-PM.log) and Oracle portal to Go (install.log).
If you ask, I can send you the installation guides that I have followed and the screen shoots of the error messages for a detail review.
Moreover can anyone please tell me if this version of Oracle 9i Application server is ok or I must try some other version?
Also advise any other if any successful configuration and installation options.
Is it possible to run this portal to go with any other installation options/arrangements/configurations etc?
Any help from anyone will be highly appreciated.

    Hi,
If you use portal 30 instead of OAS, The installation gives you the Apache ready.

  • Error while upgrading Oracle Portal to 10.1.4.

While upgrading Oracle Portal to 10.1.4 , I am getting the following error.
Error: Database version 9.0.1.5.1 is not supported
MRUA detected an error at C:\oracleportalupgrade\mrua_051020\mrua\mrua.pl line 212.
Please let me know how can I resolve this issue.

There is no WSRP container created as a part of the AS 10.1.2.0.2 or Portal 10.1.4 setup (that means there is no WSRP directory below $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee by derfault).
You need to create a brand new application server container, either in the same oracle home as portal or (as we are doing according to advice from oracle) create a new AS 10.1.2.0.2 AS oracle home for just J2EE (not portal) and then create a container for your WSRP portlets -- we called ours OC4J_WSRP. This is the step that will create a directory under $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee (in our case $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/OC4J_WSRP).
After you have your new container (OC4J_WSRP), you need to configure this container to support WSRP. First you need to download the "Java Portlet Container for Standards" from http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/portal/pdk.html (this does not come with the Portal 10.1.4 installation).
Download "Download the Java Portlet Container (JSR 168)":
    http://download.oracle.com/otndocs/tech/ias/portal/files/portlet-container.zip
    This will get you portlet-container.zip.
Extract this zip file. One of the files you will have is wsrp-install.jar.
Then log into the box where your new OC4J_WSRP container is setup (it is really important that you have not changed the default configuration of this new app server container or deployed any applications before running the next step) and ...
    1. copy wsrp-install.jar into $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/OC4J_WSRP
    2. cd $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/OC4J_WSRP
    3. run "java -jar wsrp-install.jar"
    4. restart your app server that contains OC4J_WSRP ("opmnctl stopall; opmnctl startall")
Now you have a app server container that you can deploy your JSR-168/WSRP portlets to! Just deploy your ear files to this OC4J_WSRP.

  • Oracle Portal 11g installation hangs while creating domain

I have patched the oracle portal 11.1.1.2 to 11.1.1.6 in Window 7 and tried to configure the oracle portal but the installation hangs while creating domain.
Just realised Window 7 does not support Oracle Portal 11g.

    Dear Oracle Oracle BI Software,
This software is a big puzle for end users and it is really wasting our time in try and error scenarios. admit it with us and don't hide behid curtains. Well did u follow the Guides in the Book ? Yes Yes i followed and it is still showing errors .. in the name of God inform the Development Department to manage the setup .. i configured everything fine and what is really funny that after it loads 100 % it discovers that it can't create domain. sorry i m not a master Guy, but before the installtion it should validate for us if everything is ok and can be lauched not to do 1 hour workshop and cover out at the end of the movie that there is an error.
Guy put this product in the shelf until next release
    Thank You

  • Error on passing paramter names longer than 16 char on portal import page

After created a transport set, we used portal import page to import it.
However, when we select that transport set and click "import", an 404 error occured right away. The url is:
    /pls/portal/PORTAL.wwutl_ui_export_import.import_eds
When we check the Apache error logs, it seemed all parameter names that are longer than 16 characters in the page's html form were passed wrongly. Those characters
after the 16th character of the parameters' names were some unreadable or wrong
ones. For example, P_EXPLICIT_MODE_EDS was passed as P_EXPLICIT_MODE_ˆ„N to the
backend pl/sql procedure and that's why there was a "SIGNATURE (parameter names)
    MISMATCH" error I think.
My question is actually why the internal portal pages couldn't pass parameter
names that are longer than 16 characters. Are there some settings wrong with
the portal metadata database or oracle portal itself, or even our linux system? Was it because maybe we set the multilanguage-support for our portal?
This error also happens in some other portal internal pages. Please help and you can also contact me at email: [email protected]
    Thanks a lot!

  • Oracle Portal returns 500 error running under Weblogic 11g server

I've got Oracle Portal set up under Weblogic 11g.
SSO running, talking to OID 11g, also running under the same Weblogic 11g server. Tested SSO, it is working well.
After the install (no errors or issue on install), I go to http://<server>:8090/portal/pls/portal and geta Error 500 - Internal Server Error.
I traced down the problem to OHS - in ohs1.log:

So the problem is favicon.ico is missing, which I confirmed. Does this mean a bad deployment of an .EAR file? What should I do?

  • Errors:Installing Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer on Win7

    Someone can help me?
I installed Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer on Win7.
    I have install:
    jdk 64bit
    Oracle db 11g (64bit)
    Oracle Weblogic 1033 (wls1033_generic.jar)
Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer (ofm_pfrd_win_11.1.1.2.0_64/ofm_pfrd_win_11.1.1.3.0_64)
Configure Components Screen:I just choose the Oracle Forms/reports Oracle Forms/reports builder Enterprise Manager Oracle Web Cache .
    Configure Ports Screen:Auto Port Configuration.
    Specify Proxy Details Screen:No
    Specify Application OID Screen:NO
But when I configure the "Configuring the Classic Instance" under the "Oracle Classic 11g-Home1". It's always pending in "Creating the domain". No any Error information.
    the related log information:
Creating a new AdminServer Object ...
    AdminServer port is 7001
    Starting the domain ...
    LOADING DLL : C:\Oracle\Middleware\as_2\install\config\\StartUtil64.dll

Since your weblogic is on version 10.3.3, you can only succesfully configure your fusion middleware when you are on version 11.1.1.3.
So (1) restart the install of fusion middleware 11.1.1.2, (2) choose install type INSTALL ONLY, (3) start installation of fusion middleware 11.1.1.3 and finally (4) configure fusion middleware using AS_ORACLE_HOME\bin\config.bat

  • Error in registering WSRP portlet producer  with Oracle Portal 10.1.4

I am using OC4J 10.1.3.4.0 as producer of portlets and Oracle Portal 10.1.4 as consumer. I am encountering error in registering the producer WSDL. Here's the stack trace:

  • Oracle Portal Portlet 404 Error for Specific Users

I have a single portlet in Oracle Portal that is returning the message "Error: The listener returned the following error: 404 Not Found" that is occurring for just 2 out of my 350+ users. I have tried clearing user cache, clearing portlet cache, deleting these two users from portal and recreating their accounts, changing their usernames, rebooting the entire app server and nothing is working. There are other users for which the portlet will return the exact same data that the 2 problem users are requesting without an issue.
Portal version is 10.1.2.3. Any help that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated as I am about ready to beat my head against a wall.

  • Oracle portal uninstall error

    hi,
we are trying to uninstall all the portal30 and portal30_sso schemas from oracle portal. we have dropped each of these schemas individually excepting the portal30.
the portal30 schema will not drop the dbms_lob package. it gives us the following error:
    ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [16201], [], [], [], [], [], [], []
has anyone had such a problem?- is there a way to drop the package without having to reinstall the database?
    thanks.

The same error manifiest, when the user creates a new page and add an item, the firts time al changes are saved, but when the user like to change information or update this over same item, the changes are not saved. The user has to delete the item an create a new to reflect their changes in the same page, if user move the page to new group the effect is the same.

  • Error 403 accessing Oracle Portal

    Hello,
I have just installed Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.0.2, and I am working on setting up Oracle Portal. I am able to access the portal by using an internal domain name (i.e, http://my.domain.local:7778/pls/portal), it will work fine using this url, SSO works also. I am trying to host this so people can see it from the outside world, beyond our internal network. I am getting error 403 when I try to access http://my.domain.com/portal. It states that the website declined to show this page. I am guessing there is a .conf file out there I need to edit, but I am unsure of which one or what kind of code is needed. I have seen a few other posts about this that had no answers to the problem. If anyone has any tips on this, they would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Jordan

You will have to punch a hole through your firewall for port 7777 and 7778 to your application server.
You should refer to the guides for 10g configuration to help you.
