Oracle Portal -- Installed pages use LOCALHOST

Did I miss a configuration step..
All the pages generate with http://localhost/.... in there
so if you are accessing from
another machine the graphics dont show.
[email protected]

Hello,
yes, it work's perfectly ! I' am using the Apache HTTP-Server which is installed in the midtier of IAS (Portal) together with PHP 5.1.2 ( not the 4.x original version ). I also use SSO funtionality of IAS in my PHP scripts and smarty for template engine.
1.: install your preferred PHP version in a seperate folder of the machine where Portal runs.
2.: Rename the original php.ini file and move the new php.ini with your settings file from your installation to the folder ..\Apache\Apache\conf.
3.: change the httpd.conf entries for the php-dll to use your own php version
LoadModule....
AddModule...
As I know, changing the original version of the php installation in the midtier to a newer version is not officially supported by Oracle.
Hope i could help you

  • ADF Application and Oracle Portal Login Page

    We have developed ADF application and deployed it in Oracle AS 10.1.2 along with the custom JAAS module, which is working fine with the application custom login page. As a next page, I want to use Oracle Portal login page for the authentication and authorization.
    How can I accomplished it? Any idea?
    Thanks,
    AP

    Shay,
    1. I created blank ADF project
    2. I copied myreport.jsp file (this one was generated by Oracle Report Builder) under ..ViewController/public_html directory
    3. Created directory 'lib' under ViewController/public_html/WEB-INF/lib
    4. Copied reports_tld.jar file under the directory created in 3.
    5. Created simple jspx page with the af:link (btw af:goLink does not exists in JDev 12c), set 'destination' to myreport.jsp
    After the steps above I could not even compile the application, many problems too many to list here, Basically JDev is trying to build the project with .jsp file generated in Report Builder and is unable to.
    So to be sure we are on the same page: I am trying to embed JSP report files generated by Report Builder into ADF project, then create EAR file and deploy on standalone WLS. Finally execute JSP web only report.

  • Oracle Portal Dynamic Pages?

    I grabbed this from the Primer on Portlets "<b>By simply cutting and pasting the HTML provided by affiliates into Oracle Portal dynamic pages, you can create a portlet specifically for that affiliate program and embed it into your portal.</b>"
    How is this Oracle Portal Dynamic Page created?

    The dynamic page is a portal application component. You can create one within any portal application that you have been granted edit privileges (for a sample, go to the Navigator, click on the Applications tab and open EXAMPLE APP). For additional information, check out the on-line help (search for dynamic) or glance at the components section of the product features whitepaper: http://technet.oracle.com/products/iportal/pdf/portal_twp.pdf

    Actually the two error page shown occurs when the page is not found in the portal builder(Object not found) or the user is not allowed to access the page(do not have permission to perform..). These error page are shown automatically by oracle portal. I like to know where these error page is shown in oracle portal so that i can edit the page to suit my needs like change the header etc.
    I went to the sample error page to edit but the change was not reflected in the two error pages above so these two error pages might be stored in some location such that when either object not found or no permission, the error pages are reflected in the webpage.

  • Replacing default Oracle Portal HTML pages

    How do I modify/replace the default Oracle Portal pages, such as the home page for non-logged-in users, the login page, the customize page, etc.? I'd like the fact that we're using Oracle Portal to be transparent to the users.
    This is probably covered someplace in these forums or the product documentation but I have yet to find it.

    Benjamin,
    Home Page = home page for the PUBLIC user. You can also set the home page for the AUTHENTICATED_USERS group for logged in users.
    Login Page = If you're using 3.0.7, search for "Login" in the online help. Select the topic "Customizing the Single Sign-On (Login) and Change Password pages". You can also use the Login Portlet on any Portal Page.
    Customize Page = Cannot be customized. In 3.0.7, we've removed the Oracle branding from the Wizard-type pages.
    Most of these tips are contained in the Portal FAQ.
    Regards,
    Jerry

  • Customizing portal error pages using WPC seems not to work

    Hi,
    I am running a EP 7.01 system and have instaled the KMC-WPC component.
    My goal is to edit custom error pages. I have followed the help.sap.com
    guide, however i don't see any results. When i create a KM-document
    iview to a non-existing document, i stll get the default 404 error
    page. I have restarted the portal, but without effect. Am i missing something or is the error-page editor not meant for this kind of use? I have also tried to edit the web.xml file, but these errorpages are on a very global scale and not usefull for my purpose

    Hussain,
    Yes, it is a KM document not found page

  • Unable to set session in Oracle Portal useing reverse proxy

    I have deployed a reverse proxy (using Oracle HTTP Server) in front of a Oracle Portal Install (version 10.1.2.0.2). The steps followed to set this up came from the following documents:
    Steps mentioned in Section 9.2 Configuring a Reverse Proxy for OracleAS Portal and OracleAS Single Sign-On for a reverse proxy on a Oracle HTTP Server.
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14099_15/core.1012/b13998/variants.htm#ASTED005
    Also performed steps mentioned in -> Section 5.3.7 - Step 7: Enable Session Binding on OracleAS Web Cache of the Oracle® Application Server Portal Configuration Guide 10g Release 2 (10.1.2) -- B14037-03.
    My current (example names shown only)setup details are as follows:
    Reverse Proxy for SSO server (running on internal.oracle.com:7777): proxy.oracle.com:7777
    Reverse Proxy for Portal server (running on internal.oracle.com:7778): proxy.oracle.com:7778
    With the above steps completed, I can successfully use the http://proxy.oracle.com:7777/pls/orasso for login into SSO without any issues.
    Users get authenticated successfully.
    I can also use http://proxy.oracle.com:7778/pls/portal for viewing pages on the portal fine . All self referencing links have also been successfully modified to point to proxy.oracle.com:7778.
    However, an attempt to login in the portal is not successful. Clicking on the 'Login' link successfully redirects to the SSO login page (http://proxy.oracle.com:7777/<login-page>). However, after successful authentication, the success page fails to show up and the user gets shown the initial login portal home page again.
    There are no error messages shown on the screen.But it seems that user session is failing to be initiated/set correctly, as shown by the log file (in $PORTAL_ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/OC4J_Portal/application-deployments/portal/OC4J_Portal_default_island_1/application.log ):

    Hi Chris,
    The begin of the expection stack gives you the reason:
    06/11/03 09:13:59 java.sql.SQLException: The method 'setSavepoint' cant be called when a global transaction is active
    The reason is, that either the whole global transaction must be commited or rollbacked.
    I don't know your actual configuration, but between the methods begin() and commit()/rollback() of the UserTransaction instance, OC4J/OracleAS uses a global transaction (= XA transaction) in your configuration. The state of a global transactions is completely under the control of the application server and several restrictions must be considered. One of them is, that you can't use the method setSavePoint/. E.g. you can't also call the method setAutoCommit(true) in this state, or change the transaction isolation level via setTransactionIsolation(newLevel).
    This is NOT a limitation of the OC4J/OracleAS but is true for ALL application servers.
    P.S. I can successfully set savepoints and rollback to savepoints in weblogic 9.0This means, that WebLogic 9.0 doesn't use a global transaction in this case.
    Because I don't know your configurations (Oracle and WebLogic) I can't say, why the behave different in this situation.
    Best,
    Manfred

  • Querying a Worksheet from PL/SQL Dynamic Page in Oracle Portal

    Is there a way to actually ask Discoverer to give me a list of values for a report property from outside Discoverer?
    In my case, I am trying to add reports to Oracle Portal via the Worksheet Portlet but I want to build a select list that contains valid entries for discoverer to run through the portlet for a discoParameter value. Is there any better way to get the list of values other than running the report's query 2x (once in discoverer to load the report and once in portal to get the list of values)?

    Hello David,
    This is not a feature for Discoverer Portlet but as far as I can see Oracle Portal has Page Parameter Form that migh help in creating dynamic list of values. Please check in MetaLink :

    Once the Parameter has been created, it can be used from Discoverer Portlet too :

  • Oracle Portal Virtual Host Enhacement for Multiple Virtual Hosts

    I open the TAR Number: 4326752.996
    The TAR is related to " REQUEST ASSISTANCE FOR MULTIPLE VIRTUAL HOSTS AND MULTIPLE PAGE GROUPS CONFIG. "
    This is the Scenario: We Have Oracle Portal installed in a single Box. yes I know I know... but Not everybody is Yahoo or Google for Clusters and all the good stuff, we just want our website managed by Oracle Portal since all our ERP is running Oracle Database. Anyway. 1 Box running Oracle Portal Infrastructure and MidTier.
    It turns out that our previous configuration we have the LAMP Solution with PHP, Apache with Virtual Servers configuration very trivial for a regular web server however we have about 6 Virtual domains.
    For example:
    www.abc.com
    www.def.com
    www.ghi.com
    www.jkl.com
    www.mno.com
    www.pqr.com
    We also like to post all our Intranet Information in this great Portal:
    http://intranet.com
    Where intranet.com is the same server but setup in our Internal DNS without be a Real Internet Register Domain.
    So bottom line we start doing great with Install our single box install, later [GRRRRRR does not come by default in port 80 GRRRRRR, ok need to move and setup the virtual host to resolve our main External website www.abc.com ]
    For starters ok it worked we have our main website running Oracle Portal.
    Now is time to go to the step number 2.
    Setup another Page Group in Portal to be the Page_Group_INTERNAL.
    I figure if Apache can setup Virtual Hosts pointing to Independent parts of the File System without be shared. I was expecting some kind of custom configuration where I can setup httpd.conf to point to some specific PageGroups to make sure
    www.abc.com => Page_Group_External
    never share information with:
    intranet.com => Page_Gorup_Internal
    My TAR was very quick closed with the Argument that is not what It supposed to do.
    Since a virtual host is a common thing to do on Linux and Apache, I wonder if You guys could list this as one of the default features to have multiple virtual domains assosiated with Page Groups that they never talk or share Resources I think that would be really great.
    In the mean time I guess we have no option but to put a password for every internal page or take the risk of share our Information to the Internet. Perhaps designate another box with Oracle Portal but In that case Is not really cost/bennefit to use a killer technology for our external site since we just have no more than 30 pages.
    Anyway just figure drop you guys a note any advise will be really appreciated.
    Best Regards Dino.

    Hi Martin,
    1. To change the target URL of KM resources you can to the following:
    Access the URL Generation Service Configuration by navigating to:
    System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Configuration
    Content Management -> Global Services -> URL Generator Service
    Change the Host property to "portal.company.com".
    2. You change the Port by opening the Visual Administrator and going to : Dispatcher -> Services -> HTTP Provider
    Change there the "Ports" entry from (Port:50000,Type:http)to (Port:80,Type:http). Then go on "Save".
    3. To remove the "/irj" from the portal URL you can create a index.jsp with the following content, and save it in the J2EE Documentation folder:
    <Drive>:\usr\sap\<SAPSID>\JC<J2EE_instance_number>\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\com.sap.engine.docs.examples\servlet_jsp\_default\root
    <%
    //Send the redirect using server redirection (not client script)
    //This will also send the HTTP GET parameters
    String queryString = request.getQueryString() ;
    if (queryString==null ) {
    response.sendRedirect
    ("irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.navigation.portallauncher.default") ;
    } else {//redirect with HTTP GET parameters
    response.sendRedirect
    ("irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.navigation.portallauncher.default?" + queryString) ;
    %>
    Hope this helps,
    Robert

    Please help in this regard,

    You may want to use ssoxoid.pkb package that comes with Portal/Login Server 3.0.9 which simplifies the configuration.
    Also, you will not have to run the external procdure listener. Please refer to the Login Server Admin. guide for more details.
    NOTE:
    the 3.0.9.8.0 version of ssoxoid.pkb is not good. You need to download 3.0.9.8.2 patch and get the ssoxoid.pkb file from there.
    Also, you may want to turn on debug for SSO Server to see debug msg.
    DEBUG
    ========
    You need to loginto the Login Server schema and run following commands to see debug msg.
    sqlplus portal30_sso/password
    TO TURN ON DEBUG
    1. Create debug proceure
    CREATE OR replace PROCEDURE debug_print (str VARCHAR2) AS
    PRAGMA autonomous_transaction;
    BEGIN
    INSERT INTO wwsso_log$ VALUES
    (wwsso_log_pk_seq.nextval,
    substr(str, 1, 1000),
    sysdate,
    dbms_session.unique_session_id
    commit;
    END debug_print;
    show errors;
    TO SEE THE DEBUG LOG
    2. Try to login using portal login link
    and see the error msg from the log table
    select msg from wwsso_log$ order by id;
    TO STOP THE DEBUG LOG
    3. Delete the log
    delete from wwsso_log$ ;
    commit;
    4. Turn off debugging
    CREATE OR replace PROCEDURE debug_print (str VARCHAR2)

  • Planning not working properly when user has Oracle Jinitiator installed

    Hi we have a lot of users that have Oracle Jinitiator installed to use with a system named Banner. These users have a few issues when using 11.1.1.3 - the enter key is not recognized on web forms and users cannot see business rules to execute them.
    Has anyone run into this type of issue and have any proposed solutions?
    Thanks

    Thanks I'm not sure how this has been installed. we haven't had any issues with our 9.2.1 apps with this jinitiator but with V11 we have those problems.
    Is the UTF-8 format the default installation option?

  • Settings for SAP Portal start page from BEx Query Designer

    Hi!
    In order to see queries I would like to use SAP Enterprise Portal from BEx Query Designer.
    When I push "execute" button within BEx Query Designer a wrong page will be shown in browser.
    I changed the settings in table RSPOR_T_PORTAL, but still get the wrong Portal page shown in browser.
    Question:
    What is the transaction/table/report to customize the portal start page using by BEx Query Designer?
    Thank you very much!
    regards
    Jürgen

    Hi Anton?
    Many thanks for your reply.
    But I mentioned that I changed the URL within table RSPOR_T_PORTAL and this does not help...
    Do you speak Russian? Me too
    Can you also help me with the following problem?
    Hi!
    I am about to implement SAP Best Practices scenario "B34: Accounts Receivable Analysis".
    Therefore I load the data from SAP ERP IDES system into SAP NetWeaver 2004s system.
    My problems are:
    when I try to load the transaction data for Infosources 0FI_AR_4 and 0FI_AR_6 from SAP ERP system the following happens:
    - the status is getting u201Cyellowu201D (194 from 0 records)
    - at the next day the status is getting u201Credu201D and I received the following error:
    Errors while sending packages from OLTP to BI
    Diagnosis
    No IDocs could be sent to BI using RFC.
    System Response
    There are IDocs in the source system ALE outbox that did not arrive in the ALE inbox of BI.
    Further analysis:
    Check the TRFC log.
    You can access this log using the wizard or the menu path "Environment -> Transact. RFC -> In source system".
    Error handling:
    If the TRFC is incorrect, check whether the source system is fully connected to BI. In particular, check the authorizations of the background user in the source system.
    Comment:
    I did not find any entries on "Environment -> Transact. RFC -> In source system"
    The Source system connection EC6CLNT100 is OK
    Can some one help me to solve this problem?
