• URGENT: Oracle Workflow Error: API-10020 on Creation of OWB Process Flows

I am trying to use Oracle Workflow to create Process Flows, in order to link together various mappings and components in Oracle Warehouse Builder. However, in the process flow editor window when I attempt to drag an object such as a mapping onto the editor panel, I get an error message stating the below:
API-10020: Unable to determine if the map is a PLSQL or SQLLDR map, please correct the map or choose another map.
All my maps are in PLSQL, and the language setting is set to this. I have tried modifying the langauge settings to see if it makes a difference but with no luck. My colleague believes this is a known bug in Oracle Workflow and there is a patch available to correct it.
Can anyone help with this query please? Thank you for your time.

In some versions of OWB (10.1, 10.2) The mapping property will display PL/SQL, but will actually be set to NULL in the repository (which will cause PL/SQL to be displayed as default).
The fix is easy enough: in the developer navigator, right-click on the mapping and go to configure and set the generation language first to something other then PL/SQL (you should get an error) and then place it back to PL/SQL. This should force the GUI to reset the parameter.
Alternatively, use OMB*Plus:
OMBALTER MAPPING 'MAPPINGNAME' SET PROPERTIES \
(GENERATION_LANGUAGE) VALUES ('PLSQL');
Good Luck,

Hi,
I checked in dba_user and do not find owf_mgr in it so I created owf_user and grant himexecute any procedure and a role owb_user.
When I did not get table wf_resources in owf_mgr schema, I try to run wfinstall.bat on stand alone owb 11.2.

• Owb Process Flow getting hanged/stuck .

Hi,
Problem description :- We have designed a Process Flow in OWB our project. The Process Flow is scheduled to run at 12.00 AM daily Dutch timings.
We have been facing a problem for around 3 months wherein the process gets hanged/stuck in between without giving any specific error message.
There isn't any kind of locking happening in the background as well. The OWB log gives the message "Forcibly deactivating execution with audit ID 1660235 ",
During the time at which the process hangs The process gets hanged in different timings in different sub processes(not in a particular process, so no specific pattern has been observed.)
To complete the process flow, we need to kill the process and rerun it again. When reran, it runs perfectly without any error.
The above error message appears in the log only when a process hangs. There is no such kind of logging during a successful execution.
Can you please let us know when and why does this message appear in the OWB log file.
Is there any specific kind of settings or configuration parameters that needs to be set to resolve this.
Regards,
Rosy Mukherjee

You might want to check to see if you have anything "parallel" running
We recently had an issue with one of our mappings where one day it decided to just stop working and "freeze"
Our DBA found that we had a Oracle hint for "Parallel" in the code and removed it. After that the mapping ran fine.
Best of luck

• Reg: SQL select Query in BPEL process flow

Hi,
I am suppose to execute a SQL select query (in BPEL Process flow) as mention below in JDeveloper using Database adapter.

SELECT LENGTH, WIDTH, HEIGHT, WEIGHT,

LENGTH*WIDTH* HEIGHT AS ITEM_CUBE

FROM CUBE

WHERE ITEM= <xyz>

AND OBJECT= (SELECT CASE_NAME FROM CUBE_SUPPLIER WHERE ITEM=<xyz> AND SUPP_IND = ‘Y')
Now my question is:
1. What does this "*" refer to in the query and how can I retrieve the value of LENGTH*WIDTH* HEIGHT from the query where LENGTH,WIDTH and HEIGHT are the individual field in the table.
2.What does this " AS" refer to? If " ITEM_CUBE " is the alies for the table name "ITEM" to retrieve the value, then query shoud be evaluated as

SELECT LENGTH, WIDTH, HEIGHT, WEIGHT,

LENGTH*WIDTH* HEIGHT AS ITEM_CUBE

FROM CUBE

WHERE ITEM_CUBE.ITEM= <xyz>

AND ITEM_CUBE.OBJECT= (SELECT CASE_NAME FROM CUBE_SUPPLIER WHERE ITEM=<xyz> AND SUPP_IND = ‘Y')
Is my assumption correct?
Please suggest asap.
Thanks...

Hi
Thank for your reply!
I have a nested select query which performs on two different table as shown below:

SELECT LENGTH, WIDTH, HEIGHT, WEIGHT,

LENGTH*WIDTH* HEIGHT AS ITEM_CUBE

FROM CUBE

WHERE ITEM= <abc>

AND OBJECT= (SELECT NAME FROM SUPPLIER WHERE ITEM=<Item> AND SUPP_IND = ‘Y')
I am using DB adapter of Oracle JDeveloper in BPEL process flow, where I can able to select only one master table in DB adapter say SUPPLIER and its attributes at a time. But as per my requirment I need to select both the table (CUBE and SUPPLIER) in a single adapter to execute my query.
It can be achievable by using two DB adapter , One to execute the nested query and another to execute the main qyery considering value of nested query as a parameter. But I want to achieve it by using a single one.
Am I correct with my concept?
Please suggest how to get it ?

• Process Flow Deployment using Oracle workflow

Hi,
If I have my own Process Flow in XPDL, can I deploy it to the Oracle workflow? I couldn't find any doc regarding how Oracle workflow (standalone) imports XPDL file.
Is the Oracle workflow packaged with the OWB comes with some adapter that understand the XPDL process flow?
I have an application that may output process flows in XPDL, and I want to deploy them to Oracle workflow for processing. How do I do that?
Thanks,
Denny

Hi,
I´ve used it in 2 system as a DM. It works fine. But I have to say that they were a small project.
OWF is a very robust and easy tool. I´ve never need to look for another workflow because OWF always cover my project. When it doesn´t, I´m able to change some pl/sql procedures to make it attend project requirements.
I can advice you that if you want a personalized user interface, you are going to spend more time doing it than developing your workflow. but if you don´t need to personalize user interface, so it is very easy do develop and deploy a workflow.
Any doubt just ask.

• Oracle Standard Process Flows

Hi All,
Can you please tell me where can i get all the Oracle standard Process flows. Either step by Step Excel sheet or Powerpoint presentations?
I have searched in google but unable to find it. It will be great if you can rout me to correct place OR if any one of you having the document can you please forward it to my email address?
Please let me know i can share my email address.
Thanks in advance

Hi
If you are a member of OAUG you might want to search for archived presentations.
There were process flows presentations on the Project Management / Project Portfolio tracks during the last three annual conferences.

• Process flows without Oracle Workflow?

I am using OWB 10.2, running with a 10.2 database. I want to create a new workflow module, package, and flow, and execute it the process flow using the OWB scheduler. The documentation implies that this configuration is possible, but when I create the workflow module it wants an Oracle Workflow connection for the location. I get the feeling that I'm overlooking something basic in the documentation.
QUESTION:
1) Is Oracle Workflow REQUIRED to create, deploy, and execute a process flow?

Hi,
Oracle Workflow is required for deploying processflow.
Where did you read in documentation about possibilities of running processflows without OWF? OWB instalation guide tells:
"If you plan to use Warehouse Builder process flows, you need to install Oracle Workflow to enable deployment."

• OWB process flow & Oracle Workflow

Hi,
In order to deploy the OWB process flow packages, is it necessary to have Oracle workflow installed on the Target server? When I tried to deploy a process flow package to the target database (10gR2 db), it required a user called owf_mgr. As far I know, owf_mgr is the admin user for workflow. Can this feature work without OWF being installed?
Thanks for your help

• Oracle Warehouse Builder Question about Process Flow

Oracle 11.1.0.7:
We currently have various mappings and what we want is in process flow to fork and merge back and only if all those mappings are successfully completed then go further in the process flow. I see that it allows fork for parallel processing but there is no merge. So how do I merge them all back and go to the next step in process flow. Next step of process flow is dependent on successful completion of all the previous mappings. And we want all the previous mappings to be executed in parallel for performance reasons.

Could someone help answer my question?

• Business Process Flows for Oracle Cloud

Hi,
Where can I find the Business Process/ Model (BPM) flows for Oracle Cloud (Financials, HCM, Sales, Service, Taleo)?
Anything similar to Retail Reference Model from Oracle BPA Suite (Business Process Architect) would be fine, as long as it is relevant to Oracle Cloud.
I am looking for Level 0 (Oracle Cloud) and Level 1 (Financials, HCM, Sales, Service, Taleo) process flows (Level 2 & 3 optional).
Thanks,

I found the required information in Fusion Public Help:

• How to run process flow outside owner project?

Hi,
I have two process flows (process_flow_A and process_flow_B) in two different projects (projectA, projectB). Process_flow_A has to be run after process_flow_B is finished. So what I am thinking now is either put process_flow_A in Project B or put process_flow_B in project A. But how to see process flows which are not in it's owner project? Or is there any other ways to do this task?
thanks.

It can be done - in a round about way.
You can call a SQLPlus operator. The operator will call sqlplus_exec_template.sql. You can use this script to call your other process flow in the other project.
..owb_home/owb/rtp/sql/sqlplus_exec_template.sql
If you open up the .sql file, you will see examples of how to use it to call mappings, process flows, etc.
Hope this helps..

• Subcontracting Process in Oracle Projects

Hello,
Can some one please share some inputs on how can a process of subcontracting handled in Oracle projects.
I would like to know the high level process (with modules to handle) when we enter in to an agrement with subcontractors
Example : - "A" is hiring Subcontactor "B" to work on a particular object.
Thanks in advance

Hi ,
The subcontracting process can be exceuted in the following way..
The modules involved will be PA, PO, AP..
This can be handle with the P2P cycle..
Raise a servie PO with the project information in the PO distributions for the service that needs to be subcotracted..
specify the matchig option in the PO Shipments
Enter a receipt (Optional)
Enter a AP invoice and match it with PO or receipt as per the requirement and then run PRC: Interface supplier costs..
this will post the expenditure in the Projects.
In addition to the above i fu have complex PO (with helding some portion of the order amount as retention, advace payment to be provded)
this can be handled through creating the PO through selfsevice PO which accomodates this functionality.l
Thanks
Vijay.
