Oracle service and dbconsole

My database was workin fine before I messed it up by mistakenly deleting my oracleservice<SID> , and OracleDBconsole<SID> from the registry.
I am using windowxp platform, oracle 10g (10.1.0.2)
Pls can someone help

You will have to reconfigure the service. It is important for windows environments that you have a loopback adapter configured.
Reconfiguring Enterprise Manager or rebuilding EM repository is a very common issue, as far as I have seen on the OTN Forums, these are simple steps to reconfigure and/or rebuild EM repository. The port configuration is optional and should be used only in case the port is to be changed or if there are port conflicts.
set oracle_sid=YourInstanceName
emctl stop dbconsole
emca -deconfig dbcontrol db
emca -repos recreate
emca -config dbcontrol db
emca -reconfig ports -DBCONTROL_HTTP_PORT 80

  • No Oracle services installed during initial installation

I just did an install of Oracle 10g on a Windows 2003 Server. It was a software-only install, and now I want to create databases. However, when I looked under Windows services to ensure everything was there and I could start the server, there were absolutely no Oracle services listed. Is there another step to create the services after a software-only install?

You can create a database using Database Configuration Assistant. It will create the Oracle services needed (DBConsole, Database service, etc). You can use Network Configuration Assistant to create your listener service.

  • Oracle Service Problem

I HAVE LOADED ORACLE 8i ON WINDOWS XP. IT HAD LOADED SUCCESSFULLY AND

PLEASE HELP ME SOLVE THIS PROBLEM.

    Hi!
this is generally a RAM issue...
again restart the computer, now go to the services section stop
some of the services that you don't need then make them manual,
now go to the property section of oracle services and make it manual too,
    restart your computer...
go to the dos prompt and type this:
    c:> set oracle_sid=<SID>
    c:> oradim -startup -sid <SID>
where <SID> is the name of your service
    this will start your service....

  • How to stop Oracle services?

I'm new to Oracle. I have installed Oracle 10g and I'm trying to apply patch 10.2.0.5. I'm getting the error that ORASLAX10.DLL is being used by another process. I have found out that SNMP is using that dll. I have restarted SNMP but it will use the dll right away.
This is exactly what I have done before I start installing the patch:
    Installed Oracle 10g 10.2.0.4
    Restarted the server
I think that I probably need to shutdown Oracle services and/or database. I have checked the Services in Administrative Tools and I don't see any services with name starting with Oracle. I have ran lsnrctl status and there is no listener. What other commands should I run to check/stop any Oracles services/database?

    Thanks for all the helps.
Even though the Universal Installer windows was not responding at 100%, the patch installation seems to be completed successfully according to the log file.
Where can I find a list of non-Oracle services used by Oracle? I still have not figured out which product of Oracle I installed is using the SNMP service.

  • Oracle jms and glassfish

Problem: glassfish (J2EE Sun Java Aplication Server) have to receive JMS messages about updates of the table in oracle
Please help me configure oracle services and aplication server to solve this problem!

Any specific reasons you want to use Glassfish and not Oracle Application Server? Oracle ships a Generic JMS Resource Adapter that you may use with Glassfish

start oracle service, it gets errors as following:
could not start the OracleOraHome90TNSListener service on
    local computer.
    Error 5: Access is denied.
Then I try to use "lsnrctl start listener"
    I got following errors:
Failed to start service, error 5.
    TNS-12536: TNS:operation would block
    TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
    TNS-00506: Operation would block
32-bit Windows Error: 997: Unknown error
I check listener log file, no new message is add to it.
My OS is window 2000 professional.
    Oracle server version: 9.0.1.1.1
    Thank you for some advice.

    Hi,
I try to fix it by change log on setting by
setting the oracle service as 'this account' and
fill in account and password with system administrator
account information. Then all oracle services can work
properly. But with this setting the web application which
connect oracle database cannot login to database.
It may be the registry database of the machine get
    corrupted.
How can I delete all oracle services and recreate the
them again, then will re-register the service information?
By the way, all other services in system are log on as
localsystem account, only oracle services does not allow
me set up as localsystem account, if I did that way, oracle service will not start and complain "error 5:
    access is denied"
Thank you for give me some guide lines.

ok, what are the service names for sql*net and net8 client?
del srv (delete server) software is there.
    it is free at internet.
install that software and run thru command prompt
    like:
    in command prompt
go to delsrv folder in command prompt and give
    command like
    delsrv <service name>
then that service will be deleted from services.

  • Auto start of Oracle services

I've created an Oracle 8.1.5(Std Ed) database on a WindowsNT 4.0 (SP5) server. The datafiles, init<SID>.ora and control files are all in a directory that contains a blank space (e.g. c:\Program Files\). The database instance does not start automatically when I boot the server. But if I create the DB such that all the files are in a directory with no blank space, it starts automatically. Is it that paths containing blank spaces are not supported in Oracle8i?
By the way, the file system used is FAT and not NTFS.

In the control panel services have you choosen the option automatic startup for the oracle service and database.

  • What are the differences between Oracle Service Bus 10g and WLI 10g?

    Hi,
To me both Oracle Service Bus 10g R3 and Weblogic Integration 10g seem to offer the same functionalities for implementing an enterprise middleware.
I would be grateful if someone could:
    1. provide me with the two products' differences.
    2. describe what their roadmap is?
    3. what are their positioning in the Oracle product catalog? Are they both members of Oracle SOA Suite? Fussion Middleware?
    Thanks a lot,
    Best regards,
    Babis.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to reply,
Eduardo: the answer to your questions are that all the flows will be short-lived but if we can make long-lived flows then we might consider developing them. We would need to persist the state of the flow somehow.
I understand that some of our requirements would be better accomodated by WLI or bpel but we don't have an option but only to use OSB.
So, do you think we could overcome the stateless nature of OSB by:
    1. writing to appropriate tables and reading from there and calling plsql procedures from the flows
    2. using JMS queues.
    In detalis:
    1. Regarding the writing/reading from Databases (in our case it would be oracle 10g R2 - probably RAC), is there something like a Database control in WLI, which we could use in OSB? What i have seen are using xquery execute-sql function or a JCA DB adapter but both of them seem to me not very easy to use. Is there another option?
    2. Regarding the JMS, in case that i want:
a service that writes to a JMS queue what are the servicetype and transport that i should use?
a service that reads from a JMS queues what are the service type and transport that we should used?
Any information that you may share with me in the design and implementation of the above would be great.
    Thanks a lot.

  • Oracle 10g (10.1.0.2) - Oracle CS Service and Database won't start up

    Hello!
As I installed Oracle 10g (Version 10.1.0.2) I had to start "OracleCSService" which I tried, but it never finishes starting and "stays in the state of starting".
I'm working on the operation System Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition, 10.1.0.2
I don't know if it coheres, but I as well can't access my Database. Since I installed Oracle I haven't once been able to access.
Did anyone have the same problem and got a solution?
    greetings Vera

There's a known problem with 10g on non-english Windows versions , this is documented in metalink note
    OracleCsService does not start
    Note:276801.1
OracleCSService is only needed for RAC and ASM configurations, the simplest workaround is to set the service to MANUAL startup, what prevents the service from starting after a reboot.
As long as you use neither RAC nor ASM database creation is independent of this service and should work. To analyze the problem more details are needed, 'it does not work' is not enough.

  • Enterprise Business Services and Oracle Service Bus

    Hi,
We are using AIA and we have developed a number of EBS’. These are composite applications containing a mediator and are deployed to the SOA Server.
Am I right in saying that another option is to use the Oracle Service Bus and replace the composite application ESB’s with ESB’s in the Oracle Service Bus?
    Robert

    Gerhard,
I was thinking the benefits would be:
    -     End point Virtualisation – Single end point for services we can configure.
    -     Move the job of wiring the integrations from Development to Admin
    -     Single point of monitoring for SLA’s and QOS
    -     Improve visibility of ESB’s by providing a single list. (At the moment they are amongst many services in enterprise manager.)
At the moment we have 3 SOA servers connected to 6 systems. (Dev, Test and Prod) I was imagining it might be possible to have a single OSB with Service routing controlled by policies. This way we would not need three OSB setup’s.
I am also charged with planning for the development of further services and we already have a long list of composites in enterprise manager. I am imagining that this will quickly become unmanageable. With OSB we could hide the downstream services and only show the EBS’.
I also imagined that when we introduced a 11.1.1.6 SOA server we could simply adjust the routing rules at the OSB to set up a dev environment. Test out the new services work, then make similar adjustments on a per EBS basis until we have migrated completely to 11.1.1.6.
I agree that there are a lot of trade off’s and I do not really have the experience to weigh up the balance between the two. Yesterday I was asked to come up with methods of monitoring performance of the current integration as well as future integrations and the OSB data sheet talks a little bit about this which is why I am thinking more about it; Although have only got as far as looking at the OSB data sheet and some manuals.
I guess another option would be to go with some EBS’s as mediators and others on OSB but I think using a consistent method for EBS’s would be preferable.
Also there is the question do we have one OSB for all systems or separate OSB’s for Dev, Test and Prod.
    Robert
