Oracle SQLDeveloper 4.0, script output, how to enabled

Hello,
I downloaded Oracle SQLDeveloper 4.0, to use it, and realized that when issuing DDL commands 'or DML' as:
CREATE TABLE itg.test (vcol VARCHAR2 (40)) TABLESPACE tbs_itg_data,
INSERT INTO test VALUES ('test1');
INSERT INTO test VALUES ('test2');
INSERT INTO test VALUES ('test3');
is no longer displayed the output script, stating that the table was created and 3 were inserted tuples.
Please, how can I enable this feature in Oracle SQLDeveloper 4.0, as this feature exists in version sqldeveloper-3.2.20.09.87.
Grateful.
Silvio Büttenbender

Hi Silvio,
CREATE TABLE itg.test (vcol VARCHAR2 (40)) TABLESPACE tbs_itg_data,
INSERT INTO test VALUES ('test1');
INSERT INTO test VALUES ('test2');
INSERT INTO test VALUES ('test3');
Your create statement is invalid (there appears to be a line missing after the comma) - please submit a full testcase
Preferably do not have schema and tablespace names referenced (as mine will not match yours).

  • X121e HDMI output - how to enable?

Hi, I can't work out how to enable HDMI output from this laptop to my TV. On other laptops I've tried with the TV they respond to me plugging in the HDMI cable. On this one nothing happens. Also I can't see any obvious options to select HDMI output. The manual says press Fn F7 but when I select the external options there is no second monitor detected and again I can't see any options to select it. Any suggestions what to look at? Thanks, Pete.

I've tried another monitor and still no luck. Either there is some setting I'm missing for the Intel HD output, or I wonder if my HDMI output is faulty. Any ideas what to look for in the device manager or troubleshooting steps I can do? Thanks, Pete.

  • Calling oracle function in OMB script

    Hi
Can anyone please tell me how can i get the returned value of an oracle function in OMB script. or how can i get the value into OMB variable and use it.
Basically i want to set the properties of OWB mapping via OMB script.
Following OMB code sets the max error limit of a mapping.
OMBALTER MAPPING 'MAP_DATA' SET PROPERTIES (MAXIMUM_NUMBER_OF_ERRORS) VALUES ('100')
i dont want to hard code the value 100 rather i want this value to be returned from a function.
If it is not possible then plz tell me how can i set MAXIMUM_NUMBER_OF_ERRORS property of OWB mapping via sql or pl/sql.
Any type of clue will be highly appreciated.
    Best Regards

Here is my bare-bones OMB SQL Library to allow you to do pure SQL calls from within OMB+. All I have ever used it for is to run queries, so I don't have a library procedure for calling a function, however if your function is SQL-callable (e.g. select my_func() from dual) then it would work. Either that or you'll want to augment this library to build a procedure that will call and return the results from a java preparedStatement. It's something I've been meaning to do, but haven't got around to it yet.
All you should need to do is save this as it's own tcl file and then source it at the top of your own script, or embed it into your script.
EDIT: Here is a page with some sample code on using java.sql.CallableStatement to call a Pl/SQL procedure from Java which should certainly do the trick for you in conjunction with the basic session control in my library.

  • SQL Developer Script Output too limited for student - how to increase?

I'm just a student trying to migrate from notepad and SQL Plus to using the SQL Developer for the comprehensive course project. Unfortunately, the script output is way too limited... it only reports a fourth of my last assignment's results - not enough to use in the project. How specifically can this be increased. I have version 1.1.0.21 running on Windows XP on a laptop with 512k memory.
Thanks much for any/all assist. I don't want to go back to notepad!!

Thank you for the advice, but I had tried that. My script is 305 lines counting blank lines and the SQL developer displays only about 35 lines of results corresponding to 58 lines of input. When I run the same script in SQL Plus in a console window using the @filename command, I get the entire output.
    My input and output follow:

  • How to print a standard text of 3 pages in the script output?

    Hi all,
I want to print a standard text as an include in the script output.
But the standrad text is of 3 pages conataining continuous (some terms and condtitions) text.
But while executing driver program, I am getting a STOP messgae pop-up saying 'Output is continuous or contains too many pages (>4)'.
How to get the standard text of 3 pages in the output. The standard text is to be printed at the bottom of the output.
    Thanks,
    Sachin

    Hi ,
To display standard texts you have to create a include in your script below is the syntax for that:
INCLUDE name OBJECT name ID name PARAGRAPH name LANGUAGE   name
Include command is used to include standard text in a form.the text
should be already defined by using transaction SO10.
Here name is the name of text
ID is used to classify text e.g. SDVD (SD related text) , ST (Standard text)
OBJECT is used to specify type of object it an be TEXT , DOKU
LANGUAGE is used to specify language like EN ,if ommited than logon
      language is used
PARAGRAPH is used to specify the paragraph like C
e.g. /:INCLUDE mytext OBJECT TEXT ID ST LANGUAGE EN
Here the standard text created in SO10 with name mytext is
included in the form in language EN (English)
Please let me know if you have still any confusion.
    Thanks

  • How to restrict Order types KA  and AB in script output form

How to restrict KA AND AB order types in script output data is coming from  bkpf-blart .
    program is rfkord10.
    and form is f140_acc_stat_1
in script output i dont want to  display KA AND AB order types ..
data is coming from standard report.
    i copied form into zform.
in output it is displaing all order types ..
is there any solution to restrict above order types.

    Hi
Check the data structures used in the script
Since it is account statement of customer it uses the Tables BSID and BSAD in which the field BLART field is there whose values are KA and AB
check for the structures which are used in the script and in them search for the field BLART in Se11 and accordingly keep the condition
    It will work

If i got incorrect characters in the output of sap script? HOW TO CORRECT IT?

    Hi Sunil,
Debug the script and check where exactly those are getting populated. Definately you will get it. Check the conversion parts means character to numeric conversion.
If your version is 4.7E then select unicode check box in the reports attributes. It will display the error message so that we can solve very easily.Hope this helps you, reply for queries, Shall post you the updates.

  • How to flush script output in sql developer

    Greetings from a newbie,
how can I flush script output in sql developer?
    regards,

Flush? You can wipe the Output pane by pressing the "Clear" icon (crayon gum): the first icon on the tab's mini-toolbar.
    Does that answer your question?

  • How can change the font in the script output and the data grid ?

How can change the font in the script output and the data grid in Sql Developer?

You can't easily unless you have the latest version (2.1.1).
If you do have this version then changing the font in the Tools/Preferences menu under the code editor/fonts section will also change the font of the data grid.
For details of changing the fonts in an earlier version then see Sue's post below.

In Automator, how can I pass a Run shell script output to Display Notification?

    Soemthing like this will work

  • Script output missing rows affected

    Hi,
I'm not sure when it happened, but I notice that the script output no longer tells you how many rows have been affected by DML.
    eg,
    in sqlplus, if I do
    "> delete from xx;"
    it tells me.
    "3 rows deleted."
but in sql developer all I get is
    "delete from xx succeeded."
Is there any way to get sqldeveloper to tell me how many rows have been affected if I "Run Script"? Haven't it output the number of rows affected is a great "double check" that my query did what I expected, having it just say "succeeded" just tells me that it did something..

    Hi,
I can now fix and reproduce this.
This morning I downloaded the latest MacOS version which reports as "MAIN-32.13" (same as the old one I was running). And what do you know, it correctly says the number of rows inserted/deleted/updated (I did not trash my prefs folders)
So, I diffed the two application directories, with the following differences.
    laguna:Downloads $ diff -r SQLDeveloper.app/ /Applications/SQLDeveloper.app/
    Only in /Applications/SQLDeveloper.app/Contents/Resources/sqldeveloper/ide/lib/patches: timesten_support.jar
Binary files SQLDeveloper.app/Contents/Resources/sqldeveloper/sqldeveloper/doc/sqldeveloper_help.jar and /Applications/SQLDeveloper.app/Contents/Resources/sqldeveloper/sqldeveloper/doc/sqldeveloper_help.jar differ
    Only in /Applications/SQLDeveloper.app/Contents/Resources/sqldeveloper/sqldeveloper/doc: sqldeveloper_help.jar.backup
    Only in /Applications/SQLDeveloper.app/Contents/Resources/sqldeveloper/sqldeveloper/extensions: oracle.sqldeveloper.timesten.jar
    Only in /Applications/SQLDeveloper.app/Contents/Resources/sqldeveloper: timesten_readme.html
    laguna:Downloads $
I then tried check for updates, and it picked up timesten extension, which I installed.
On the first restart after updates, I get the following error.

and my worksheets wont open (just stays with the blue background). Restarting fixes this, but... Back to the original problem.

    oracle.sqldeveloper.timesten.jar
    and
    /Applications/SQLDeveloper.app/Contents/Resources/sqldeveloper/ide/lib/timesten_support.jar
The problem is fixed again.. So its something with those Jars.

  • Oracle Development Survey on Data Warehouses: How Does Yours Compare?

At the start of most data warehouse projects, or even during a project, I am sure you as customers try to find answers to the following questions to help you plan and manage your environments:
    * Where can I find trend and comparison information to help me plan for future growth of my data warehouse?
    * How many cpu's do other customers use per terabyte?
    * How many partitions are typically used in large tables? How many indexes?
    * How much should I allocate for memory for buffer cache?
    * How does my warehouse compare to others of similar and larger scale?
The data warehouse development team, here at Oracle, would like to help provide answers to these questions. However, to do this we need your help. If you have an existing data warehouse environment, we would like to obtain more technical information about your environment(s) by running a simple measurement script and returning the output files to us, here at Oracle. This will allow our developers to provide comprehensive documents that explain best practices and get a better understanding of which features our customers use the most. This will also allow you as Customers, to benchmark your environments compared to other customers’ environments.
From a Company perspective we are also interested to get feedback on features we have added to the database, are these features used, how are they used etc. For example we are keen to understand:
    * Which initialization parameters are most frequently used at what values?
    * How many Oracle data warehouses run on RAC? on single nodes?
    * Is there a trend one-way or the other, especially as data volumes increase?
    * Does this change with newer releases of the database?
All results from these scripts will be held confidential. No customers will be mentioned by name; only summaries and trends will be reported (e.g., “X percent of tables are partitioned and Y percent are indexed in data warehouses that are Z terabytes and larger in size.” or “X percent of Oracle9i and Y percent of Oracle10g data warehouses surveyed run RAC”). Results will be written up as a summarized report. Every participating customer will receive a copy of the report.
Terabyte and larger DW are the primary interest, but information on any data warehouse environment is useful. We would like to have as many customers as possible submit results, ideally by the end of this week. However, this will be an on going process so regular feedback after this week is extremely useful.
To help our developers and product management team please download and run the DW measurement script kit from OTN which is available from the following link:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/bi/db/10g/dw_survey_0206.html
Please return the script outputs using the link shown on the above web page, see the FAQ section, or alternatively mail them directly to me: [email protected].

Hi Guys, just a quick question. when we have a primary key on 4 coloumns and we have, say 20 million rows and we want to add one extra row. How does oracle check whether the data on the primary key is unique to the record being added compared to the 20 million rows. Does it actually compare the record being added to all the rows present in the table?
Edited by: 969224 on May 10, 2013 8:14 AMNot the whole row, it compares the 4 columns in the INDEX against the 4 columns in the new row.

  • SQLStateMapping.java:70 Error When Loading Database Capture Script Output

I'm running "Migration->Third Party Database Offline Capture->Load Database Capture Script Output" (Sybase 12) (SQLDeveloper 1.5.5)
After Tables are loaded (16000+ tables), I'm getting the following error in Migration Log:
Error ocurred during capture: In Columns for <column_name>
    oracle.jdbc.driver.SQLStateMapping.newSQLException(SQLStateMapping.java:70)
I could not find any hits that match this. What's the best method to troubleshoot this?

Log a service request with the offline scripts and we can check them out and forward them also to Development if needed.

  • Close script output window

So after YEARS of working with MS SQL, I'm now working with Oracle. One of the biggest problems I'm having is that in Microsoft SSMS, you can hit Ctrl+R to minimize the query results window.
    1) Is there a shortcut key to minimize the script output window in SQL developer?
    2) I would like to change the shortcut to ctrl+r as it's such habit by this point, but not sure what the name of the proper shortcut would be either.
Thanks in advance for any help with this!

Check this thread where it was described how it works, however i don't think you can change the shortcut.
Re: Request "Hot key to show/hide result grid" = how was implemented 2.1.1 ?
    Hope it helps,
