Oracle Table Error

Hi,
I'm getting an error when trying to configure the standard Database Table resource adapter on an Oracle DB. I'm running IdM 5.5 on Tomcat with a MySql repository. The Oracle database is fairly large but I've been able to configure the database table adapter successfully for a similar MySql database and smaller Oracle databases.
I thought I might be running out of memory but task manager shows that neither Tomcat or Internet Explorer seem to be maxing out the system.
I've checked the XML string with an online validator and it's a valid XML.
Here's the error after I try to save the newly configured resource adapter:
  Deserialization failed for xmlString='<!-- MemberObjectGroups="#ID#Top" defId="#ID#4A9D234701A83B5A:EBE18:106749DE7D5:-7F96"
</TaskInstance> '. ==> com.waveset.util.XmlParseException: XML Error: 3:20: The markup in the document following the root element must be well-formed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi All,
I am getting a similar kind of error while trying to configure a standarad database table resource adapter on an Oracle DB on our Development environment. I am running IDM 5.5 on Tomcat with Oracle repository.
Here's the error I am getting while trying to save the newly configured resource adapter:
com.waveset.util.XmlParseException: XML Error: 3:16: The markup in the document following the root element must be well-formed.
We did not see this error on anyone of our developer machines which are having IDM 5.5 on Tomcat with MySql repository.
Can any one help on this?
thanks

    its only a target user for the workspace where you are deploying the mapping from.
    I have two repositories for two different projects. each repositary has its own workspace.

  • Error while using Oracle Table as source file :- ODQ for ODI

    Hi All,
    I am getting some errors while working on ODQ with Oracle Tables as source file.
    If I am trying with text files (*.txt) as source and output it works fine.
    Please let me know how we can connect to an oracle table which is my source file.
    In the exported project -> “settings” folder
    In the file named eN_transfmr_pXX.stx
    For
    /CATEGORY/INPUT/PARAMETER/INPUT_SETTINGS/ARGUMENTS/EN
    TRY/DATA_FILE_NAME=
    What I need to give? (URL – source file)
    I tried with
    1. jdbc:oracle:thin:@xxx.xxx.x.xx:1521:ORCL
    2. jdbc:oracle:thin:UserName/Password@// xxx.xxx.x.xx:1521:ORCL
    i am not sure , is there any thing missing ???
    (Note: for text file I am giving “D:\Sourcefolder\customer.txt”)
    If I am running the batch file directly from CMD Prompt it’s displaying the error message
    “Cannot open file”
    If I am connecting with ODI it’s displaying the error
    com.sunopsis.dwg.function.SnpsFunctionBaseException: OS command returned 3503. …………………….
    Thanks in advance…
    Rathish A M

    Hi Ratish,
    ODQ supports files as inputs not Oracle tables, what you should do is:
    - define an ODQ process that takes a file as an input.
    - create an ODI process that dumps your Oracle table into a file that will be used by ODQ. (interface or OdiSqlUnload step)
    - run the ODQ process in ODI (in a package)
    - create an ODI interface that will load your ODQ output file into a DB.
    You can profile Oracle tables directly using Oracle Data Profiling.
    Thanks,
    Julien

  • Column not found error while populatin a oracle table with ODI USer

    Hi,
    I am trying to populate a column in a oracle table with the ODI USER name using the function getUser("USER_NAME") in the Mapping column of the Interface, But the interface throwhing an error *Column not found : Supervisor in Statement [Select......]*. but it's working fine with getUser("I_USER') the column is populating the user identifier.
    can any one help me out why user is not populating.
    Thanks

    Enclose the call to the getUser api inside single quotes
    '<%=getUser("USER_NAME")%>'ID being a number can be used directly but USER_NAME returns a string that needs to be quoted

  • ORA-00054 error when loading Oracle table using Data Services

    Hello,
    we are facing ORA-00054 error when loading Oracle table using BO Data services
    (Oracle 10g database, BODS Xi 3.2 SP3)
    Test Job performs
    1- truncate table
    2- load table (tested in standard and bulk load modes)
    Scenario when issue happens is:
    1- Run loading Job
    2- Job end in error for any Oracle data base error
    3- When re-running the same Job, Job fails with following error
         ORA-00054: resource busy and acquire with NOWAIT specified
    It seems after first failure, Oracle session for loading the table stays active and locks the table.
    To be able to rerun the Job, we are forced need to kill Oracle session manually to be able to run the Job again.
    Expected behaviour would be : on error rollback modifications made on table and BODS stops Oracle session in a clean way.
    Can somebody tell me / or point me to any BODS best practice about Oracle error handling to prevent such case?
    Thanks in advance
    Paul-Marie

    the ora-0054 can occure depending how the job failed before. If this occures you will need the DBA to release the lock on the table in question
    Or
           AL_Engine.exe on The server it creates the Lock. Need to Kill Them. Or stop it..
    This Problem Occurs when we select The Bulkloading Option in orclae  We also faced the same issue,Our admin has Killed the session. Then everything alright.

  • Locating Oracle Forms Error Messages File to Load into Table

    I would like to create a procedure to suppress and replace Form errors and messages via ON-ERROR and ON-MESSAGE triggers.
    Is there a file that I can load the ERROR Messages from using SQLLDR?
    I have loaded the Oracle error file, $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/mesg/oraus.msg as identified by Tom Kyte in the following link,
    http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/ask/f?p=4950:8:13189517973890228983::NO::F4950_P8_DISPLAYID,F4950_P8_CRITERIA:558822941373
    but it did not contain Forms Errors Messages such as:
    FRM-40106: No navigable items in destination block.
    FRM-40202: Field must be entered
    FRM-40401: No changes to save
    FRM-40405: No changes to apply
    etc.
    Any help in getting these error messages in a table, other than typing or copy/paste from Forms online help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Error: sp2-0310 unable to open file c:\desktop\oracle\table.sql

    I am not able to open any files that I have downloaded and put into a file path. I keep getting the error sp2-0310 unable to open file. I made sure to save my files in a path with no spaces. What can I do to resolve this error message.
    Thanks.

    As already said, you need to verify you've really got the correct path. After that, you can also check to see that the file name is really table.sql. If you created the file in a simple text editor, sometimes the editor will append .txt to the file name. But if you have "Hide Extensions" turned on in Windows Explorer, then you wouldn't see the .txt extension. Check the file name and make sure it really is as you think and doesn't have another extension on it.
    Finally, how are you trying to use the file in SQL*Plus? If the path and file name are correct, you should be able to do this:
    SQL> get c:\desktop\oracle\table
    and it should bring up the file into the SQL*Plus buffer. Or, you should be able to use:
    SQL> @c:\desktop\oracle\table
    to execute the contents of the file.
    If you are simply using:
    SQL> @table
    then you could add the SQLPATH environment variable to point to c:\desktop\oracle and that would allow you to skip entering the path.
    Hope this helps,
    Karen

    Hello Again ,
    Wish Oracle was a bit more informative. Am using a SAS Institute Product called Enterprise Guide. A "hot fix" was installed to address an issue that the product appears unable to save the latest version of edited code changes (hence " BETWEEN between" remaining even after a prior edit). In any case, with the change, am now receiving this error:
    " ERROR: ORACLE prepare error: ORA-00904: "PHRMCY_CLM_FACT"."LAST_SRVC_DT": invalid identifier". (Log file appears below)
    -The error remains, regardless of whether one uses "pass through" code to pass the date range to Oracle (which looks ok from the log output below I believe), or if I hard code the date range into the PL SQL query itself.
    -The Prepare error always appears at end of the inner SELECT.
    -The Prepare error remains, with or without the GROUP BY clause.
    Is there anything else here I am missing? Someone suggested a reserve word - but from other ANSI SQL versions, I do not see that is the case. I have consulted SAS Tech Support and SAS List Serve at University of GA. but nothing definitive from these sources. Have requested facility to be able to run Oracle directly, outside this SAS Institute product - in process.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks to everyone very much.
    Jeff

  • Deadlock issue in while inserting in oracle table.

    I have written a procedure which copy data in to oracle tables.Other user can also start inserting in that table so to prevent these intervention.
    i have applied locks on these two tables and assume that my procedure will wait for other users to finish and it will apply lock on the tables and other users will now wait till this procedure finishes.
    My Procedure looks like:--
    lock table table1 in exclusive mode;
    lock table table2 in exclusive mode;
    update table1 set where rownum < x;
    forall .....insert in table 2.
    commit;
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN OTHERS THEN
    dbms_printline(SQLERRM)
    commit;
    END;
    But my problem is i am still receiving oracle error as below and the above procedure fails in between:-
    ORA-00060: deadlock detected while waiting for resource
    Any hint ??
    Can we get this error if i execute a SELECT statement on some table which is not locked by me and some other other is updating/deletig/inserting in that table ?
    *Select statement is without update clause.

    I have written a procedure which copy data in to oracle tables.Other user can also start inserting in that table so to prevent these intervention.
    i have applied locks on these two tables and assume that my procedure will wait for other users to finish and it will apply lock on the tables and other users will now wait till this procedure finishes.
    My Procedure looks like:--
    lock table table1 in exclusive mode;
    lock table table2 in exclusive mode;
    update table1 set where rownum < x;
    forall .....insert in table 2.
    commit;
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN OTHERS THEN
    dbms_printline(SQLERRM)
    commit;
    END;
    But my problem is i am still receiving oracle error as below and the above procedure fails in between:-
    ORA-00060: deadlock detected while waiting for resource
    Any hint ??But if you successfully lock TABLE1 (in session #1) and another session (session #2) is holding a lock against TABLE2 (say it's currently updating a row) then session #1 has to wait when you issue the Lock table command for table2. So session #1 is waiting, and then session #2 tries to do ANY modification to TABLE1 (which session #1 still has locked, and is still waiting to obtain the lock on TABLE2)... whamo, deadlock.

    *Select statement is without update clause.No, writes (and locks) do not block reads. So a simple select statement (unless you issued a FOR UPDATE clause) would not cause this issue.
    What does your actual code look like, and what are you actually attempting to do? Why do you think you need to lock the tables, is this a one time operation, a continual operation of the system? Please explain in much more detail what you've got going on here.

  • Data Load from XML file to Oracle Table

    Hi,
    I am trying to load data from XML file to Oracle table using DBMS_XMLStore utility.I have performed the prerequisites like creating the directory from APPS user, grant read/write to directory, placing the data file on folder on apps tier, created a procedure ‘insertXML’ to load the data based on metalink note (Note ID: 396573.1 How to Insert XML by passing a file Instead of using Embedded XML). I am running the procedure thru below anonymous block  to insert the data in the table.
    Anonymous block
    declare
      begin
      insertXML('XMLDIR', 'results.xml', 'employee_results');
      end;
    I am getting below error after running the anonymous block.
    Error :     ORA-22288: file or LOB operation FILEOPEN failed”
    Cause :   The operation attempted on the file or LOB failed.
    Action:   See the next error message in the error stack for more detailed
               information.  Also, verify that the file or LOB exists and that
               the necessary privileges are set for the specified operation. If
               the error still persists, report the error to the DBA.
    I searched this error on metalink and found DOC ID 1556652.1 . I Ran the script provided in the document. PFA the script.
    Also, attaching a document that list down the steps that I have followed.
    Please check and let me know if I am missing something in the process. Please help to get this resolve.

    Hi,
    I found the problem.It was because of the connection string.The format was different for oracle tables.
    PFB the format
    *cnss.open"Provider=OraOLEDB.Oracle.1;Data Source= servername:port/SID;Database= DB;User Id=aaaa;Password=aaaa;"*
    And thanks *SH* for quick response.
    So closing the thread......
    Thanks,
