Oracle won't support customers after upgrade databse to 64-bit?

Our supplier told us oracle will not support us after we have migrated our oracle database 9iR2 ( 9.2.0.3)to 64-bit. Is that true? Instead they want us to migrate our oracle database to 32-bit OEL 4.

Did you first go to the Control Panel and make sure that the HP Support Assistant software was not listed (uninstalled)?

  • Problem: Mac won't boot up after upgrade to 10.5.4

Upgraded MacBook Air (SSD model) to 10.5.4 last night. Got a couple of boots where MBA showed a grey panel in the centre of the screen (in 4 languages) saying that I needed to restart my computer. On the third try got the white Apple startup, then a plain light blue screen. I know from previous upgrades that can sit for a while, so I left it overnight. In the morning, still blue. Power off, power on, grey panel telling me to restart again. Seems to be in a cycle of twice with a grey box, then the blue screen. Any ideas?
Everything is backed up, so if I get it sort-of working, I can restore to my last good 10.5.3 and take it from there.

    Hi,
    it happened to me too.
I've G4 mini with 1Gb RAM: with 10.5.3 everything was working fine.
Once upgraded to 10.5.4 and reboot, the Mac just won't start: blue screen with mouse cursor but nothing more.
Additionally, the mac becomes extremely noisy as for some process taking out all the CPU.
It's the second time I got a system failure after upgrading Leopard: this starts to be annoying.

  • Mail won't open inbox after upgrade

After upgrading my dads macbook from 10.4.11 to 10.5.6, mail would open but nothing would pop-up. and when he opened the inbox manually, the account doesnt show up even though it is set correctly in the preferences.
also when he goes to quit the application, it won't quit. like it's ignoring him. he has to force quit in order to shut the computer off, otherwise when he tries to shut down with it running, it tells him he cant shut down because of mail.
he is in the process right now of updating the macbook to the latest leopard release and all subsequent updates before he goes ahead and installs his snow leopard upgrade. but as it stands, he is at 10.5.6 with this error.

    Hello k:
Tell him to not upgrade until the problem is resolved. Upgrading a problem system usually yields an upgraded problem system.
Tell him to rebuild the mailbox.

MY BB Playbook won't connect via wifi to my home network after upgrading the OS to version 2.1.0.1526

  • 2th call to setdatasource crashes certain customers after upgrade CR9 to XI

After upgrading from Crystal 9.0 to XI , some of our customers run into trouble viewing/printing reports.
First off, a report/preview can be generated. When viewing/printing the same,or any other report afterwards they get an access violation on the line:
    ( Borland C builder 6.0 application)
              crr_Report->Database->SetDataSource(Variant(((TConnectionReportSource*)prs_Temp)->RecordSet), Variant(3), Variant(prs_Temp->TableNumber));
About a 100 customers downloaden the upgrade, 6 of then ran into trouble, with 3500 more customers to go this problem needs to be resolved FAST !
Edited by: bart slegers on Aug 7, 2008 1:22 PM

    yes,
    eventually I did find it:
initially I used the default crystal merge module to install at our customers, which put us into trouble.
    After install we deleted
    crdb_p2bbde.dll
    from \program files\common files\business objects\3.0\bin
    problem was solved.
after deleting 15 more of the unneeded dll's (which CR DID LOAD anyway), not only the problem was solved, but the speed loading the first report improved by 400%
so we ended up editing the msm, deleting all that was unnessesary.

  • 13" MBP Mid 2010 won't wake up after upgrade to Mavericks from Lion

    Hi
I read numerous threads regarding this problem from Mac Minis to Mac Pros and also MBA and MBP.  After upgrade from Lion to Mavericks, my MBP cannot wake up.  I have to hold the power button down to force it to turn off then power it back up from hibernation.  SMC reset, Mavericks reinstalled, Repaired Disk Permission, ram refresh, all done and did not help.
It helps whenever the computer goes to sleep, whether forcefully by choosing Sleep from the Apple Menu or by closing the lid.
Anyone please help, if not, APPLE PLEASE FIX THIS BUG.
    Thanks
    J

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and  Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Mac won't come up after upgrading to itunes 8.1.1

My PB failed to restart after installing the 8.1.1 iTunes upgrade. I yanked the battery and tried again. It came up once. I started the activity monitor, tried to switch back to the finder, it locked up and I haven't been able to get it to come up since. It'll grind the disk away for awhile and then just sit there with a gray or black screen. I've hit command-control-power a couple of times, another couple of times I got the "you must restart your computer" multilingual message. What's my next move? I have an external drive under Time Machine control. Should I try starting from the Leopard DVD? What would I do then?

Same problem here. A while after upgrading iTunes, my computer got completely frozen, so I had to make a hard reset.
Since then my Mac didn't boot up anymore, it always got stuck at the grey screen, showing a flashing folder with a question mark, instead of the apple logo. I tried the usual (pulling all the plugs, resetting the PRAM...) with no luck, after I finally called the AppleCare hotline where they told me that I have to reset the PRAM twice in a row.
That did the trick and my computer it's booting up again, but it keeps freezing randomly and I "losing the hard drive" whenever I do a hard reset.
    Any advice?

  • PlayBook Won't start up after Upgrade!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hello,
While syncing up my PlayBook to my LapTop which I do about every week, an upgrade process took over and part way through the process I was told that the upgrade could not be completed.   After that I get NOTHING!!! I was getting a red blinking light and that has stopped.
I have spent the last 2 days on the internet researching everything I could find to help me.  I have tried the 3 button test,  charging it for 2 minutes then off for 15 seconds did that one over 30 times, charged it over night...Still NOTHING!!!  I know that both charger work I have tried it out on my Curve.
I finally got on line to see what support I could get and all I could find was that I need to call RIM and give them my Credit Card #.  I have to pay for this piece of junk that I did NOTHING wrong with. Now I have to pay for this junk..As for as I am concerned  this thing is DOA and all I want is an RMA to get this fixed so I can sell it and get a  REAL tablet!!
Can anyone tell me how to get an RMA or do I have to pay for that one too.......
Please any help will be appreciated......

You need to follow these instructions to "debrick" your PlayBook:
You should have the Desktop Software version 7 installed on your PC, can be downloaded from http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/
    1. Make sure your PlayBook is powered off (sounds like yours might already be) press and hold down the power button until the unit forces the device off.
    2. With the Desktop Software open on your computer and the PlayBook powered off, connect the PlayBook to your computer.
    3. You should see an error screen from Desktop Software popup with the options to Retry, Update, or Cancel.
Very quickly choose the Update option.
    4. Once this is complete your PlayBook will go back through the initial (as if new) setup wizard (entering the BlackBerryID, etc.), and then you can perform a restore using Desktop Software to return your personal data from the backup. Applications which you downloaded from AppWorld won't restore, but they can be easily reinstalled using AppWorld >  My World section of AppWorld.

  • IPad won't update apps after upgrading to ios8 ?

    Hello,
I have been having touble with my apps getting updated.  This seemed to have started after I downloaded the ios 8 on my iPad.  I didn't have the problem before. I had 15 updates its now down to 8 but I have been waiting for the past 4 days for it to complete.  It keep stalling/pausing and I have to restart it.  I have tried to turn the iPad off and on.  I don't want to have to uninstall the apps and redo all of them.  Is there something wrong with my it because of the iOS 8 update?  Is there a recommendation or a resolution to solve the issue.  Thank you

  • IMac won't complete restart after upgrade to 10.5.6

I recently ran Mac OS upgrade 10.5.6, but iMac won't complete restart. After the apple appears, script appears across screen and a box appears in the middle telling me to restart my computer by "holding power button until shut down, then press on/off button again to restart. Any suggestions to try before taking machine to Apple Store?

Thank you everyone. The correct answer was a kernel panic, and although the resolve kernel panic links above did not offer a successful solution, it was a correct diagnosis. Following the Apple Troubleshooting steps allowed me to determine that a faulty third party keyboard was the cause. Restarting with shift, restarting with 'x,' and restarting with ctrl-option-r-p did not solve the issue. Unplugging the keyboard and restarting did identify the keyboard as the culprit. Thank you all for your help.

  • My Mac won't shut down after upgrading to Panther

I recently upgraded to Panther 10.3 from Jaguar 10.2.9. After Panther had installed successfully, I used software update and I'm now running Panther 10.3.9. However, since then my Mac won't shut down. It doesn't hang or freeze - it just does nothing at all.
I've made sure no applications are running or have frozen. I've tried booting up from the OS X disk and running Disk Repair, and I've also tried using the 'fsck' tool. (I entered '/sbin/fsck -f' in single-user mode). Nothing has worked.
Now each time I want to shut down, I have to force shut down. Can anyone help?
    800 MHz PowerPC G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   1.5 GB SDRAM

Hard shutdowns can cause disk damage. You are better off leaving your Mac on until the problem is sorted.
Have you disconnected all peripheral devices (unmount firewire drives before disconnecting) except Apple keyboard and mouse and tried shutdown? Often peripherals can kick back a signal to the cpu preventing shutdown.

  • IMac Facetime won't receive calls after upgrade to Mavericks

    Hi all,
I am experiencing a strange issue with Facetime on my 2012 iMac running Mavericks.
    Here's the deal:
Upgraded my iMac and MacBook Air to Mavericks
I am able to PLACE calls from all machines (so my account seems to be working fine)
When being called my iMac won't respond...no message, no sound, no nothing...plays dead man
My MacBook Air behaves normally (also Mavericks)
I have tried all of the following:
disabled and re-enabled Facetime (to maybe override some config issue inherited from before the upgrade)
tried to receive calls with and without Facetime running
    rebooted...several times
all the latest updates are installed
I have not (knowingly) changed anything after the upgrade. "Don't disturb" is off and Facetime calls are allowed for everyone.
    Any ideas?
    Best regards,
    Beschi

Hi all, Problem not solved yet.
Maybe you can give your 2 cents to my working hypothesis:
Could it be that some background process/service is used to continuously monitor incoming requests/calls? Could it be that this process fires up Facetime and forwards incoming calls (Facetime calls are received without Facetime running, right? So something must capture them...)? Could it be that in my case this process is either not running or configured incorrectly (account, password)?
Maybe you can put me on the right track?!
    Best regards,
    Frustrated Beschi

  • 2nd gen shuffle won't play podcasts after upgrading to Itunes 7.2(34)

I use my shuffle to listen to podcasts only. Last week afer upgrading Itunes it stopped playing and the LED would flash alternating green and orange. I did the 5 R's apple recommends and it still would not work. I even downloaded Apple's Ipod Reset Utility, it still would not work. I took it to the Genius Bar at the apple store because it is only 3 months old and they gave me a new shuffle. After returning home and trying to sync the new shuffle to my podcasts it had the same problem as the previous shuffle. This got me to thinking it was something besides the shuffle. The only thing I could think of was the new version of Itunes. So I tried to put other things on there besides podcasts. I added itunes store bought music, both drm and drm free, mp3 and aac music that I ripped in itunes before and mp3 and aac podcasts that I have downloaded. The shuffle played all the music but skipped over the podcasts. Please help. I was able to play these podcasts before on the shuffle so the file type is not an issue. I can play the podcasts on my video Ipod. I can even play them on the shuffle via itunes when it is connected to my computer. I don't know what to do and I am seriously falling behind on my podcasts. Any tips would be appreciated

Hello FrayedSo, Sorry to read your having a difficult time with your shuffle and podcasts.
As you mentioned earlier this is your second shuffle and it is able to play songs you purchase or put onto it but it skips past the Podcasts.
Are you playing these podcasts as part of a Playlist? or is this happening in shuffle mode?
Some of the things you could do to possibly assist with troubleshooting your issue are below.
Make sure to Consolidate your iTunes Library so all your information is backed up to your iTunes Music folder. You can do this by going to Advanced-Consolidate Library.
To quote a part in Knowledge Base 30058
"Playing Audiobooks and podcasts on iPod shuffle
When iPod shuffle is set to shuffle songs it will play all the audio files on iPod shuffle that are not audiobooks. Podcasts of type .m4b or AAC will not play on iPod shuffle when it is in shuffle mode, which is the intended behavior, although a podcast of type .mp3 or .wav may play while in shuffle mode. To play an audiobook or podcast that is on iPod shuffle, set the switch on iPod shuffle to play in order."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300558
Another thing you could try. Create a new user account on your Windows System and download some podcasts and sync it to your shuffle and see if the same issue occurs.
