Oradim and open database problem ?

hi eveyone
I have problem when i am restarting my pc or restarting database the database did not open
I have checked the oradim log is showing :
Wed Sep 02 01:48:14 2009
C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\bin\oradim.exe -startup -sid orcl -usrpwd * -log oradim.log -nocheck 0
Wed Sep 02 01:48:15 2009
ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
then I run the oradim command again from dos prompt with following change :
+oradim.exe -startup -sid orcl - syspwd oracle -log oradim.log -nocheck 0+
after this command , the orcl database open and working fine
my question , what is prevent the original command to work correctly without problem ?
and how can I make orcl database open smoothly ?
thanks for everyone

Hi Aman ..
yes , I tried , and no change, the problem still there
please note that , the service start automaticly and if you check from service in administrator tools you will find the status "started"
you asked , why I am starting database by oradim ?, simply the answer because when I got this error I checked the "oradim.log " then i found that error which I mentioned before, after that, I tried to change the oradim parameter by passing sys password then it is working fine .
in the following is actual case

  • Difference between the mount, nomount and open database.

    Hi,
I'm very new in Oracle Database.
I need more details regarding the oracle database. My questions is , What is exact difference between the oracle database which is 3 diff stage like mount , nomount and open?
Can anybody clear my doubts. Is there any proper document which help me out?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    manish
    Edited by: user2567674 on Sep 8, 2009 10:36 PM

When the database is nomount state, then database instance has been started using initialization file. Thus processes started and memory allocated.
In Mount: The instance started and control file is opened. The control file is read but it's contents are not validated.
In Open: If the database is opened then control file is validated against the physical structure of database. The database is verified that all of it's file are in consistent state. If any of the file is not in consistent state, we may need some sort of recovery.
When you fire startup command following happens:
    Nomount------>Mount-------->Opened

  • Initial setup and Open Directory problem

    Hi,
I'm new to the MAC OS X server system and trying to get one up and running on a G5.
Unfortunately I can’t get the configuration up and running, and I have the feeling it already goes wrong during the initial setup. I was hoping you guys could help me out.
The purpose of the server is providing network user accounts (DNS + Open Dir.) and providing sharepoints.
I go trough following steps while installing from scratch:
    - Install MAC OS X and run the Server install package from the OS X Server DVD (as you know, OSX Server is'n installing directly on G5)
    - Choose keyboard layout, enter license and create an account "admin"
    - Define static IP "192.168.1.1", add this IP as the first in the list of DNS Servers, add "company.local" in the search domain
    - Install as a standalone server (so I can configure dns & other network services after basic setup)
    - Check "network time server" (so time will be synced for Kerberos)
    - Proceed, install and reboot
OSX Server seems to be installed fine and I can login with "admin". Next step I take is configuring DNS.
    - create a zone "companyname.local.", use my IP as server address (192.168.1.1) and use "server" as the server name.
    - add a machine record for DNS-testing (called "gateway", with the IP of "192.168.1.254")
Start the DNS service and reboot
    - perform an nslookup with a second MAC with 192.168.1.1 as the nameserver and verify that DNS is resolving correctly.
DNS seems to be working fine, now I would like to get the Open Directory service to work:
    - change "Standalone" to "Open directory master" in the server configuration panel
    - provide a password for the directory admin
    - use "SERVER.COMPANYNAME.LOCAL" as kerberos realm, and "dc=server,dc=companyname,dc=local" as the search base
    - Save & start the service and perform a reboot to be sure all the new settings are in use
Unfortunately after this install open directory doesn't seem to work fine and also Kerberos doesn't start.
Concerning Kerberos: I get following output in the "Slapconfig log" Open Directory log file:
    Starting LDAP server (slapd)
    command: /usr/bin/ldapadd -c -x -D uid=root,cn=users,dc=maggie,dc=interesourcegroup,dc=local -w **
    Hostname server.companyname.local is from Rendezvous
    Skipping Kerberos configuration
Sorry to bother you with the entire walkthrough of the installation, but I have the feeling that I'm missing something while performing the basic install or DNS setup .. ?
    Regards,
    Seppe
    G5 Mac OS X (10.4.6) /

We currently have a static IP and a public dns hosted
by MediaTemple, so I think I can create a subdomain
on MediaTemple and link it to our fixed IP address
("private.companyname.com" >> static ip) instead of
    using dydns.. ?
    Of course.
I suppose I can then use "private.companyname.com" as
the zone name on my G5 server and use
    "server.private.companyname.com" for my local DNS?
    Sounds reasonable.
If using this DNS, what will be the Kerberos REALM
and Search Base? And do I still need to specify
private.companyname.com as the Search Base in the
Network Settings of the clients and server?
Well, REALM and LDAP Search Base can set to whatever you like. On the other hand I've seen tools contacting kerberos servers break when the REALM is not part of the kerberos server fqdn.
So I'd stick with the usual recomandations and set kerberos REALM to your domain name (if there is no other kerberos server alread running and using this).
For the LDAP search domain I'd also follow the road of using domain name space as search base.
When dns will finally be setup properly, these setting will be autopopulated for you in the GUI. So test, test, test you dns with
host $ip and host $fqdn and then go on promoting "Standalone Server" to "Open Directory Master".

  • Open GL Problem

I've seen many messages about CS4 and Open GL problems but not this specific one. With Open GL support turned on I get a box right in the middle of the image at the very top. I'm running the latest nVidia drivers for my card (8800GT with driver v180x48 dated 11/19/08). I have the problem with SLI both enabled and disabled. When I disable Open GL support and re-open the image everything works fine.
So far, PSCS4 is running fine except for that. Which means I can't rotate the canvas, but that isn't a show-stopper for me. I assume this means I'm waiting for nVidia and Adobe to resolve Open GL issues. But any other advice would be appreciated.

no 3d functionality with CS4 so I upgraded my graphics card based on the following requirements:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/photoshop/systemreqs/
Some GPU-accelerated features require graphics support for Shader Model 3.0 and OpenGL 2.0
Using these criterion I found this card and bought it:
The ATI FireGL V3350 features full Shader Model 3.0 support and scalable ultra-threaded architecture with true 128-bit floating-point precision. Both OpenGL 2.0 and OpenGL shading language are supported in the unified drivers for the FireGL V3350, as is Microsoft DirectX 9 with Dx9 HLSL. Drivers are available for Windows XP, Windows XP64, and Windows 2000, as well as Linux 32 and Linux 64. Specs here:
    http://ati.amd.com/products/workstation/techspecs2.html
Upgraded to the Feb 2009 drives and still no 3d support. Any suggestions..return the card? What card really works and cost less than $250?

  • Problem with applications and accessing database

    Hi
I have a serious problem with my applications.I was trying to change "users"'s folder icon so I changed the setting in information.I don'y know what I did but It made these problems:
many of applications does not open for example
itunes-->The folder "iTunes" is on a locked disk or you do not have permission...
picasa alerts me with a database error
yahoo messenger just pops up once and doesn't open.
    firefox the same problem
net monitor alerts with a database problem.
    evernote same problem
all of my address book is erased.
I think somehow I removed the db files or I changed the permission and the programs can not access to their db files.

don't know the last thing I have done was trying to change the icon and after that I found out about the problem.Maybe sth else caused the problem . anyway I copied all of my files to a new user and I removed the user with problems & everything is ok here.thank u all.

    Aftershotz,
You're going to have to give a bit more information.
What do you mean by "opening a file in library?"  There is no function of Aperture to open files -- you can open (switch) libraries.
You'll have to be more specific about error messages, too.  Perhaps some screenshots would be useful to diagnose your problem.  "Can't open database with library name" is not enough detail about what Aperture is really telling you.

  • Slow Problems with Oracle Forms 10g and Oracle Database 11g

Hi, I wonder if there is a compatibility problem between Version 10.1.2.0.2 32 Oracle Forms and Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production. This is because my application runs correctly on a version of Oracle Database 10g, and when we migrated the database to an Oracle Database 11g, slowness problems came out.
    Thanks.

We have the same issue happening with our custom forms and with some of the standard forms in EBSO. So far we have found that the form invoking a view causes ridiculous slowness in opening the form (40 mins). Using a table access has shortened the open time significantly. At this time Oracle DBAs at OOD have no clear idea why it is happening.
we are on 11.1 database with 11.5 EBSO

    Dear Nicolas,
    Thanks For Replying,
I Have Windows 2003 Server And Oracle 9i Installed .
I Followed The Following Steps :
    - I Took A Copy From All The Data Files , Control Files , Redo Logs , And The Init.Ora Files From The Original Server .
    - I Installed Oracle 9i On The Target Server ( Used The Same SID And Location Like The Source Server ).
    - I Copied All The Files In The Corresponding Directories Like The Source Server .
    - Using The SQLPlus, I Started The Database, And It Mounted And Opened The Database Without Any Error .
    - Then When I Went To The OEM, I Connected To The Database, But When I Tried To Open It, It Gave Me An Error That Can't Open The Database, ( I Can't View The Contents ) .
    Thanks,

  • Problem opening database after successfull recovery

    Hi All,
Can any one please help me with below error.
I am doing system copy from Source_SID to Target_SID taking online backup and generated offline redo log files during start of backup to end.
We are on Windows 2003 server, DB is Oracle 10g and system is SRM 5.0. I was trying system copy backup/restore for DB and export/import for java. I have got online consistent backup along with offline redo logs of source system. Also have taken CI export.
Here the file system directories in TARGET_SID and SOURCE_SID are different. First i have restored the online backup of Source_SID in Target_SID system (RYV). Took the trace file of Source_SID system and modified accordingly the filesystem structure directories of the TARGET SySTEM. Also renamed the TARGET_SID to SOURCE_SID.
Now started it in nomount state with below command.

  • Database Mount and open only exclusive after cluster upgrade to 11R2 Window

    Hi,
i just finish my 2 nodes upgrade of my cluster from 11.1.7 to 11.2.0.1 under windows. In the upgrade, everything work fine.
Now, when i connect to my database i can see only one of the 2 nodes have the database open. When i check the log i can see the first node open the database in exclusive mode, so, the second one can not opened because a instance already working with it.
How can i change the mount of the database in share mode so the cluster can open the database for the 2 nodes?
I would like to connect in local mode to close and open mount it in share mode but,
i'm not able to connect anymore in sqlplus in local mode, Why?
What have been change, the listener is not the same, now i have 3 listeners, one for each node and on global?
I'm shure i'm missing something, but i do not find the info the the documents.
    Any help will be welcome

    I finaly found the problem.
After the upgrade the oracle_home was not set correctly

Spent all afternoon downloading Java plugiins and Adobe reader; each with the following "failure message."
Error 2203.Database: C:\Windows\Installer\ced2e.ipi. Cannot open database file. System error -2147287035.Error 2203.Database: C:\Windows\Installer\ced2e.ipi. Cannot open database file. System error -2147287035.

This is going to sound lame, but... have you shut down and restarted Windows since this problem began? Sometimes the Windows Installer starts behaving erratically, perhaps due to a backlog of deferred updates, and the only way to get around it is to reboot.

I've had MS Office:mac 2011 on my imac for around 18 months now.  Outlook has just disappeared and when I find the file and open it it tells me that there is a problem and I may need to re-install it.  I've just done this using the installation disc which, then said the installation had been successful.
Outlook is still not working.  Can anyone please advise me on what to do next.

Remove MS Office 2011 completely (here are instructions) and reinstall it.
It's not a simple or fast process but it is important to follow all of the steps in order to get all the files that Office scatters around. This will not affect your data files, only MS Office and its preferences.

No, it's done on the computer, it's just done on the web and not through iTunes. I guess you could do it on the iPhone, but it would be easier to do on the computer.
Just go to the site linked above, then click on the big blue button and fill out the neccessary information.

Boot from your OS installer disk and run Repair Disk from Disk Utility.
