Can someone please advice me on differences between 10.7 and 11i - Order Management Module?

as you know in 10.7 it is order entry and not order management. Order management was redesigned from 11i onwards introducing workflow to manage the orders which does not exist in 10.7. Also a number of features introduced from 11i. I have a very old presentation on OE to OM. If you wish to have it, please update this thread with your mail address, I will mail it you.

Order Management Implementation - Configurator and Move Orders
We are in the process of implementing Order Management (11i) version. We have been facing the following issues:
a. Configurator button on order lines form does not open for PTO models - we are not using the Oracle configurator, but are interested in manually choosing the options during Order entry - the form does not open, despite the fact that we have set up the profile,BOM:Configurator URL of UI Manager, as per the suggestions of Oracle.
b. Issues around using Workflow for Move orders - basically, suggested set ups in Organization parameters have been done, but do not see specifically that the workflow process has been started, when saving a move order.
Does any one been successful in getting through either of the issues - any input is highly appreciated.
nullwe did face the same problem whes the configurator button was pressed nothing opened up. We applied patch set B and that took care of the problem.We are going to use Oracle Configurator and not BOM bit do have configurator developer installed yet, so are creatinf bills in BOM and selecting the model to order through the sales order screen and choosing the options etc by clicking on the configurator button.The order gets saved but does not gets over to receivables as the workflow process that needs to be run(as per oracle) does not seem to be doing anything at all. There are so many bugs especially in OM that it would take sometime for it to stablize.
Let me know if you need to the specific things that we did to make the configurator screen to appear. -

R12 user guide is OK for learning.but it has the entire fields information. in this we can't identify which fields are mandatory and which are not to business flow.because it flow will follows first to end in user guides.
experience candidates can identify about that.but we are in learning stage. so that's why Iam asking just important and mandatory fields list and their meaning.if any required URL means please forward to me as easy learn.

Multiple CRM clients (MCRM) pricing and lean order management
Hi CRM experts,
We have a scenario where two CRM CLIENTS (not different systems/boxes) (lets say 100 and 110) are connected to two different SAP ECC systems (NOT different clients but different ECC systems). Both CRM clients have interaction center sales with Lean order management. Now ECC systems have to me merged and the it is required to have one ECC client is connected to 2 different CRM clients.
As per the note 1143540 provided by SAP on this subject it seems that multiple CRM systems can be connected to one ECC. The note tells that conditions exchange in not supported.
1) I want to know if conditions can be exchanged atleast with one system.
2) We know that multiple CRM systems/boxes are supported but are MULTIPLE CLIENTS supported
3) Will Lean order be supported with multiple clients of CRM with one ECC backend
Your help on any of the above questions is highly appreciated and points will be given liberally.

Though I have no document which says this would happen or don't , yet I believe this is possible.
I would visualize the scenario likes this
OLD Scenario
CRM_CLNT1--RFC_1ECC1 CRM_CLNT2--RFC_2-ECC2 ( CRM_CLNT* connected through RFC_* to ECC*)
New Scenario
CRM_CLNT1 -
RFC_1------ ECC1----RFC_2--
CRM_CLNT2
In my opinion at the CRM side this should be possible. It would not lead any change at the CRM side because CRM_1 system and CRM_2 system would still connect to ECC1 through separate RFC connections. But at the ERP side you would have to replicate the data for ECC2 in ECC1.
The Lean order or LORD connects the SAP ERP & SAP CRM systems through a RFC connection using LORD framework on the CRM side. The ERP fields and CRM fields are mapped using mapping table and data is exchanged through communication structure. I don't see any reason why this would be affected.
Let me know your thoughts on this.
I would be interested to know if I you find any relevant documents on this which proves my hypothesis wrong.

ORDER MANAGEMENT & SALES
1.Briefly describe the types and structure of the sales document and give examples of data
that you find on the different levels.
Sales*related business transactions are recorded in the system as sales documents. There are, broadly
speaking, four different groupings of sales documents:
Sales queries, such as inquiries and quotations
Sales orders
Outline agreements, such as contracts and scheduling agreements
Customer problems and complaints, such as free of charge deliveries and credit memo requests.
Header Data
The general data that is valid for the entire document is recorded in the document header. This data
includes the:
number of the sold*to party
number of the ship*to party and the payer
document currency and exchange rate
pricing elements for the entire document
delivery date and shipping point
Item Data
Whereas data in the document header applies to all items in the document, some data applies only to
specific items. This data is stored at item level and includes the:
material number
target quantity for outline agreements
number of the shipto party and the payer (an alternative shipto party or payer can be defined for a
particular item)
plant and storage location specifications
pricing elements for the individual items
Schedule Line Data
An item consists of one or more schedule lines. The schedule line contains all the data that is needed
for a delivery. For example, a customer orders 20 pieces of a material and you enter this as an item in
the sales order. However, you can only deliver 10 pieces now and the remaining 10 pieces next month.
In other words, you need to schedule two deliveries. The data for these deliveries (dates, confirmed
quantities) are stored in two separate schedule lines. In sales documents where delivery data is not
relevant *for example: contracts, credit and debit memo requests * the system does not create any
schedule lines.
Data recorded in the schedule lines includes the:
schedule line quantity
delivery date
confirmed quantity
2.What is the difference between an inquiry and quotation ?
. Inquiry: Request made to a vendor for a quotation for required materials or services.
No availability check is done for inquiry.
. Quotation: Offer from a vendor to a purchasing organization regarding the supply of materials
or performance of services subject to predefined terms and conditions.
A quotation consists of a number of items, in which the total quantity and delivery date of an
offered material or service are specified.

Map each Status Code to one domain value. I dont understand what this means? what is meant by domain value and how can we map the data retreived by the query with the domain values.

Order Management 11i Schema Changes
Hello,
Does any one have all the schema changes from Order Entry to Order Management listed out? Oracle has it all over the place and I'd appreciate if someone who has figured this out posts it.

Oracle Retail and Siebel Customer Order Management
Looking into a solution to handle Franchisee ordering.
Customer currently has Oracle retail to handle supplier purchase orders and PeopleSoft to handle the accounts payable. They currently have a custom built tool to handle franchisees.
Would Siebel Customer Order Management interface well with Oracle Retail, in terms of merchandising and supplier purchase order consolidation? Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks.Not being able to answer all of your questions, however if I do understand ok your question re. 'standalone', there should be no need for setting up EBS if you already have Oracle Retail RMS/RPM - there is a direct, standard, feed from RPM to ORPOS. You may like to check the Oracle Retail merchandising integration guide, it does have a chapter on RMS/RPM - ORPOS/BO/CO integration.

This is a client specific requirement and so no such process was delivered by SAP.
The way you have handled it almost the same way I would ahve done had I been asked to do so.
To answer your first point - as long as your account postings are happening fine (both forward and reversals), then I dont think there should be any issues.

R12 Order Management Setup and API for Pick Release
Hi All,
I am doing pick release using Release Sales Order form of Order Management of Oracle Apps R12. Pick Release process is going fine , but the the status of lines are not getting updated. If we explicitly do reservations before pick release and then do pick release from Release Sales Order form, line status is being updated as pick released. If we do pick release from Shipping Transactions Form, then there is no need of explicit item reservations. Please suggest me, is there any setup steps to be done, so that i will tell the functional guys to do it.
Also I am executing the WSH_PICKING_BATCHES API for create batch and release batch, the same thing i.e the pick release process is working fine but the line status is not getting updated.
Is Release Sales Order form and Shipping Transactions Form uses different API's to do the pick release?.
If we have to do explicit Item Reservations, what is the API used?

3) u will get the sales order form
4) which will have 2 tabs namely a) order information and b)Line Items
4)In the Order information Tab u will find the Order type field will be a mandatory field
5) U just query for the Customer Filed and select any customer from the list
6) Automatically the Order type field will get a value since an order type would be attached to the customer.
7) If u dont find the order type field populated for the time being select a differnet customer
8) Now clcik the line item tab
9)In the line items just fill the line details and save it and book the order.

I have heard about a product or module with Oracle 11i referred to as the Order Management Portal, but cannot find any documentation on it. Has anyone heard of this new module and if so can you help me understand what it does, or where may be some documentation on it.
Thanks,There are two products - Order Management and Oracle Portal. Order Management is part of the E-Business Suite of applications and allows functions like order entry, shipping etc to be handled. The Oracle Portal is a technology tool used to create intranet / internet sites without any programming.
You could use Oracle Portal as the intranet development tool, and on which one of the links (or a permanent portlet) to be the Order Management functionalities.

My Boss gave me the following assignments: To create interfaces API's
Order Management : Oracle 11i – Warehouse Interface
Module 1 – Pick release interface
This module would automatically process all sales orders tagged as ‘QTY Served’
by Warehouse.
Module 2 – Ship confirmation interface
This module would automatically process the Ship Confirmation of all pick released
service orders. It would also do the preparation for the AutoInvoice of the sales
order.
Module 3 – Service Order interface
This interface would automatically update the quantity ordered of non-subdi
account's SO lines that are less than the quantity that can be served by Warehouse.
